Father’s Day is inside the Light in Springfield as all the men celebrate the special day with their families. The Day begins with Gus showing Zach a picture of his father Joe and telling him Joe was a great dad. Zach thinks that Gus is a great dad too and they both leave the house to go to the Spaulding mansion to wish Alan a good day and give him a card Zach made for him. Frank and Harley arrive at Company to wish Buzz a happy day and Coop who is working at Company wishes him a happy day as well. Jeffrey sits in his office and reads a card from Ava and can’t help but smile at her words to him. R.J. and Cassie plan a surprise for J9sh and R.J. works hard on his card for Josh. Josh talks to Marah on the phone and thanks her for taking time out of her day to remember him on this non-major holiday. Gus and Zach arrive at the mansion and give Alan the card Zach made for him once Zach has gone to the kitchen to get cookies Gus explains to Alan that he has a 16 year old son with his first girlfriend Natalia and he never knew he existed until now. Alan is excited to meet Rafe until he is told Rafe is in Juvenile hall. Gus asks Alan to use his influence on the judge to help Rafe get out of juvenile hall. Alan promises to help Gus and when Gus leaves the room to check on Zach Alan answers Gus’s phone and she reluctantly leaves a message with Alan that Rafe’s hearing is today and he must be there. Alan hangs up the phone and once Gus returns with Zach Alan lies and tells Gus the judge has agreed to meet them on the docks to discuss Rafe’s case. Alan sends Gus and Zach to the car then he turns off Gus’s cell phone and places it inside his desk drawer

(Docks) Gus is worried because Judge Ellis hasn’t arrived for their meeting and wonders if Alan was scared he couldn’t be a good father to Gus once he knew Gus was his son. Gus explains he is afraid he won’t be a good father to Rafe but suddenly he feels so much love for Rafe and also the need to protect him. Gus also tells Alan that he catches himself looking at Rafe to see if they look alike. Alan lies and tells Gus he can’t get a signal on his phone when Gus asks to borrow it to call Harley. Gus decides to go skip rocks with Zach. Harley call Gus and leaves another message on his cell phone and after hanging up the phone she tell Jeffrey she is afraid that Alan is deliberately trying to keep Gus away from the hearing because he is ashamed Rafe is his grandson. Jeffrey and Harley leave the courthouse determined to find Gus they first go to talk to Josh and ask him to testify at the hearing on behalf of Rafe. Harley also explains that Gus is missing and he must be present at the hearing. Josh volunteers to help them find Gus so they all head over to Company where Frank heads out to look for Gus while Coop starts calling everyone who may have seen Gus. Buzz Jeffrey and Josh head to the Spaulding mansion to try and find some clue to where Gus might be. Jeffrey and Josh search the study and find Gus’s phone inside Alan’s desk. Once they have found the phone they talk to the servants and discover that Gus went to the docks with Alan and Zach. Josh Jeffrey and Buzz arrive at the docks and tell Gus about Rafe’s hearing and that Alan put his phone in his desk to keep him from getting Harley’s messages. Gus talks to a boat Captain and offers to pay him to drive them across the lake because he must get to a court hearing to help his son. The boat captain refuses and Gus is so desperate that he punches the guy and then all the men get into a fight. Harley tries to stall the judge but she is tired of waiting and tells her she will only wait five more minutes if Gus and Jeffrey don’t arrive she will postpone the hearing. Natalia is angry because she thinks Harley as at fault for Gus not being at the hearing because she doesn’t want Rafe to be a part of Gus’s life. Harley tells Natalia that couldn’t be farther from the truth. Gus and the men are all in jail and the boat captain says Gus threw the first punch. The men sit and talk to Alan and remind him that no matter what Rafe has done he is a good kid who deserves a second chance. Buzz thinks it unbelievable that Alan wants his own grandson to stay in jail. Alan then decides to take the blame for the fight and all the men are let out of Jail. Everyone rushes to the hearing where the judge hears testimony from everyone and is inclined to let Rafe stay in jail. Gus makes a heartfelt plea to the judge asking her to allow him to have the chance to be a father to Rafe so the judge gives Rafe one-year probation. Gus’s plea reminds Jeffrey of Ava and he goes back home and reads the card again and is surprised by a knock at the door which turns out to be Ava and Olivia to wish him a happy Father’s day. The audience sees a montage of all the Springfield men spending Father’s Day with their families and the final scene is Josh getting a call from Shayne and Gus getting a hug from Harley along with a wish of a happy Father’s Day.
