The Bold & The Beautiful Update Thursday 5/11/06

In Cabo, Nick is making a mysterious phone call and telling the person that to hold all the calls, he does not want to be disturbed. He joins Brooke on the terrace, where she is lounging in her swimsuit. He lies next to her on an adjoining chaise lounge. He asks has he told her how much he loves her today? She replies about 48 times. He asks if that is a little too much, but she replies not even close. So he smarts, “I love you” and flops his hand over on her stomach. She returns the favor and says she loves him too and hits him in the stomach just a little harder. He gives her a look and does it again; she does it again and again and again back and forth until they are embroiled in a cute little lover’s scuffle and he ends up rolling into her chair in a kissing embrace.

At the hospital, Dr. Chris joins Eric, Bridget and Felicia outside of Ridge’s room as Felicia inquires if he is still unconscious? Ridge has just again weakly called out Brooke’s name. Christian tells them he thinks a visit from them is just what the doctor ordered. They slip into the room while Eric looks pensively from the glass paneled door. He inquires of Christian if there is something about Ridge’s condition he is not telling him.

At Brooke’s, Stephanie is still pleading with Stephen that she needs to speak with Brooke. She tells him Ridge could die. And she can’t lose him any more than Stephen could lose one of his. He reminds her that she took that option away from him. She nods and admits, “yes, I did. Well now it’s come full circle, hasn’t it? It’s not about you and me and Beth. It’s about our children and loving them. Truly, selflessly loving them.” He blurts it out that Brooke is in Cabo. She asks if he has a number, and he replies it’s probably by the phone. She rushes to it and dials the number and asks Stephen if he will please speak to her because she has already hung up on Stephanie the last time. He asks for Senor Dominick Marone’s room, only to be told that all calls are being held, so he will leave a message for Brooke to call her father. Stephanie thanks him and says she is going to fly down there and bring Brooke back. Stephen asks what if she should call? Stephanie suggests that she get the first commercial flight and get back here as quickly as she can. Ridge is at the University Hospital. She gives Stephen a quick, sincere, thank you as she leaves.

Brooke feeds Nick a mango slice then follows it with a kiss. He jokes about what fun he is going to have in making a whole bunch of business calls. She regales this is what it’s like being the big boss. He grumbles that he doesn’t want to be the big boss right now. She reminds him that running an international conglomerate, sometimes business comes before pleasure. He says not if he can help it. They kiss again and he’s all touchy/feely. He has his mind on anything but business. There’s a knock at the door and he tells her it’s probably Rico. She asks who is Rico? He shows her – the man supposingly with the magic fingers. He’d called the front desk and arranged a massage for her while he was working. This old man, Rico, is supposed to be the best around. Rico walks in, and he’s not old, he’s a stud. Nick’s grin is wiped from his face. Rico asks where should he sit up his table? Brooke jumps up to show him, and then (for Nick’s benefit) teases that Mr. Marone will be inside doing his push-ups and she gives Nick a little pat on the chest. He chides that he believes he will do his push-ups outside….and then comments to Rico that he LOVES the outdoors.

Stephanie calls Eric from the jet and asks if there has been any change? He wants to know where in the hell is she? He thinks she should be at the hospital with Ridge. He’s floored when she tells him she is on her way to Cabo to get Brooke. He asks why couldn’t she just call? She explains that she has and even left messages and Brooke still won’t return or accept her calls. Ridge NEEDS her and she’s going to get her. It’s the only decent thing she can do for the two of them.

Jackie descends the stairs at Brooke’s house, bantering about putting the little wiggle worms down for their naps. She finds Stephen deep in thought. He tells her Stephanie was just there looking for Brooke. Jackie is dumbfounded that she would do that now that Brooke is out of her and Ridge’s life. She’s flabbergasted again when he explains Ridge is in the hospital and he doesn’t know all the details, but apparently it is very serious with his heart. Jackie sighs and says this is all so unbelievable. Stephanie needs Brooke, so now all is forgiven. The nerve of that woman. She asks what did Stephen say to her? He laments that he didn’t have any choice. Stephanie’s son and R.J.’s father may be dying, so he told Stephanie where Brooke was.

Felicia gives Ridge a little kiss and asks if he heard her? Her big brother is going to pull through this. He’s going to be his old, arrogant, cocky self in no time. Bridget pipes in that is just his sister’s way of saying that they all love him. And she implores Ridge to come back to them. Felicia adds, “or you’re gonna have to answer to mom. I mean, look what she did for me, and I’m not even her favorite.” Bridget wonders if anyone has told her mom? She holds Ridge’s hand and tells him that her mom will always love him even if they aren’t together any more. There is a tiny eye movement from Ridge.

Cigar in his mouth, playing big boss, Nick is wheeling and dealing in the hot tub while Magic Fingers is working on Brooke’s back. He tells her he can come back tomorrow. She’s disappointed that the session is over. He says he has another appointment. She remarks it’s the best massage she has ever had. Nick can barely carry on from straining to see Brooke and Rico. She pours herself a drink of water and then joins him by sitting on the edge of the tub. She comments he seems to be a little stressed out. Maybe he should try to get Rico to fit him into his busy schedule. He quips this sailor feeds on stress. She tells him but he’s no longer a sailor, but the big, new boss. He figures that will make the old boss very unhappy. She asks if Massimo will come after him? He answers yep. She says that sounds like Stephanie….lurking in the shadows…..waiting to pull the rug out from under her feet. But, he tells her those days are over for her now. He scoops her up, as she giggles, and he lowers them both into the tub. Just prior to a kiss, he tells her THAT WOMAN doesn’t have a hold on her anymore, “you’ve got the new me….you’ve got the new you…..you’ve got your new boyfriend, Rico……so let’s forget about the old Stephanie.”

On the plane, Stephanie calls Brooke again and leaves a long, detailed message…….it’s the only way Ridge is going to pull out of this, so if she will come back with her…..”I promise things will be different between you and me. I promise.”

Massimo rushes in and inquires from Eric how Ridge is? He says he was out of the country and just got in. He’s given the silent treatment and Massimo tells Eric, dammit, answer him! Eric barks, "or what? You’ll throw me in jail the way you did Jackie?” Massimo tells Eric he doesn’t give a damn, he can think of him what he will, but he still thinks he was right about Brooke belonging to Ridge. His heart condition proves it! He only wishes Dominick had the good sense to realize it too. Instead of doing this to his brother.

Nick and Brooke frolic and kiss in the tub, and frolic and kiss……and frolic and kiss. Almost like foreplay, she keeps bringing up Stephanie and how she is excited she won’t have to deal with her anymore. Though she might miss her fashion career. He tells her she may not have to. He doesn’t want her working at Forrester, but she could work with his mother at the boutique. She would love to work with her future daughter-in-law. Brooke says but her heart is at Forrester. But, one good thing about working with his mother…….Nick says, “she’s not a bitch?” Brooke admits that is true. Stephanie never did appreciate her contributions there. She just wanted to get rid of her any way she could. He comments that his mother wouldn’t be that way. She was Brooke’s number one fan…..well, make that number two. They frolic and kiss some more. The cell phone gets hit and falls in the water…….heck, they don’t care, they can always kiss. He tells her she looks really, really good and she says there goes the work for the day!

On the plane, Stephanie has flashbacks of that last scene with Ridge before his collapse. And she continues to berate herself for not listening and not seeing what he needed.

At Ridge’s bedside, Massimo bends over and whispers to him that he has a son, R.J. who needs him. He has to hang on for him. And for Massimo as well. He’s already lost one son, and he’ll be damned if he’s going to lose another. His throat cracks as he says, “I’m not going to lose you, my son. I can’t lose you.”

The pilot tells Stephanie that he will handle the Mexican authorities with their paperwork and file the flight plan. And he will be refueled and standing by.

Eric fills the girls in on what Stephanie is doing. And that Stephanie blames herself for what is happening to Ridge here. She feels she should have accepted Brooke a long time ago and now is determined to make up for it.

Still hot and heavy in the tub, there is a heavy knocking at the door. Nick barely takes a breather and says he doesn’t want to answer it. The knocking continues, louder and louder. Brooke doesn’t think they are going away. Finally, he says he will, IF she won’t move…..or breath….or move…….or breathe. He sneaks in one more kiss and then grabs for the towel which he holds in front of him….still telling her not to move……one more kiss…….not to move……or breath. He keeps repeating that all the way to the door. Clutching the towel around his wet body, he opens the door and goes, “Oh, my God!” Stephanie doesn’t wait for an invite, she bounds on it and says Brooke has got to go back to L.A. with her. He declares that she is not. She brushes past Nick and heads straight out to the terrace with him hollering after her.

Brooke too is surprised and asks why is she there? Stephanie tells her too that she has to come back with her to L.A. Brooke thinks she is insane. Stephanie tells her she has been leaving messages for her all over. Why didn’t she return them? Ridge is in the hospital; he’s had emergency surgery. He’s had a heart attack. You can tell by the look on Brooke’s face, she doesn’t believe her. Stephanie pleads more that the doctors say it’s a miracle. “He needs YOU, I need you. I do need you, Brooke. Please, you’ve got to come with me to Los Angeles. His life depends on it….he needs his Logan.”
