The Bold & The Beautiful Update Friday 4/19/02

By Matthew

Well well…the Friday has finally come.

Well several important things are going on today. First, Whip talks to his mom, Joy, who has wondered where he was and how he is doing. I’ve been wondering what’s been going on in Paris. Whip says that his relationship with Brooke has been improving and that he’s falling in love with her. What? Oh god. So what is this 3 guys over the past 2 years? And that’s not including Ridge and that random French dude. Anyway he fills in Joy on his plans to ask Brooke to marry him. (Roll of the eyes). Joy doesn’t think it’s such a good idea, but you know Whip, once his mind is set on something.

Brooke’s in a depressing mood as always and Whip tries to cheer her up to no avail. Yeah everyone in her family has a screwed up life right now. Brooke is completely stunned, however, when Whip says he loves her and asks her to marry him. Hmm, I’m never right about these things so I’ll guess she says no at first, but changes her mind later.

Back to the main place of action, Taylor says she thinks Amber needs some professional help to get through this, but if Amber doesn’t want to see a shrink, at the very least she needs to talk to a friend. Rick is okay with the idea of Amber seeing a psychiatrist, but wants a referral to another one besides Taylor. Basically, he and Amber can’t deal with their problems with Ridge right now.

Amber is sobbing in her room some more and wants more pain medication. Hmm, I don’t like this pattern. She’s sedated, but then has a “night terror” where the doctor (Dr. Wilson) tells her it’s her fault the baby is dead. How horrible. When she wakes up in a panic, she realizes the dream reaffirms her belief that the baby dying was her fault. No Amber, see if you already thought it was your fault, your mind was thinking about it too and then when you went to sleep, all that stuff is fresh dream material. So they go hand in hand.

Somehow, Erica makes it all the way to LA and to Cedars and to the floor Amber is on. Okay, Bradley Bell, I’m suspending my disbelief. She lurks around (she’ll fit in perfectly on this show) and overhears that Amber lost the baby. Upset by the news, Erica is more determined than ever to see Amber and slips into Amber’s room. They are alone and Amber is still a little sedated so she’s not quite coherent yet and wants to know why Erica is there and who she is. Erica has flowers and says she is a great fan of Amber’s and wants to help her through this tragedy. All Amber can say is that no one should be a fan of hers. Yeah, and when is this Ziggy fellow gonna come in. Ziggy. What an interesting name. So far this whole Erica thing is too unrealistic for me. Hopefully, Bell can tie it all in a little better as we go on.

Y’all have a good weekend.
