Nicholas: Sweetheart, are you all right? Baby, talk to me, are you okay?

Sharon: Yeah, Iím fine.

Nicholas: Are you sure?

Sharon: Yes, Nicholas. Honey, listen, I know you felt maybe I was pushing it. Iím much better now thanks to your love and support, and that incredible romantic evening you planned. I'm going to be just fine.

Brittany: I'm being honest and straightforward with you and you call it garbage. Tell me how you really feel.

Mackenzie: I'm calling it how I see it.

Brittany: Don't be high and mighty. You and Billy ganged up on me.

Mackenzie: You claim you're laying a guilt trip. You can't want to spend the summer with both of us. There has to be some reason you're so desperate to do this. What aren't you telling us, Brittany?

Paul: That's it for now. Are you clear on everything?

Lynne: The Brogna case is getting wrapped up.

Paul: I want to talk to Isabella's husband in prison.

Lynne: Find out what he was really after.

Paul: Exactly. Things can't go on as they have. They need to be resolved for Isabella's sake as well as my own.

[Phone ringing]

Michael: Yeah. What did you say? I heard what you said. I'm just surprised. Never mind. Give me a moment. I'll handle things on my end already, all right? Oh, Chantal, why don't you call it a day? You have been working a lot of long hours. You deserve to get out of here early. I insist you scoot. Go. It's all clear. Well, I trust you took the necessary precautions?

Isabella: I have a bodyguard standing outside a boutique downstairs. He thinks I'm trying on clothes.

Michael: That's clever.

Isabella: Unless he figures out Iím gone.

Michael: I don't understand.

Isabella: I'm getting more and more anxious about my situation. Have you found anything to help me?

[Knock on door]

Jack: Come in. Well, you definitely have my attention. Is that you, Clarice? Wait, wait, the best legs in the world were Maude's. That's Maude. I would know, Maude and I spent a lot of time together.

Phyllis: Maude? Who's Maude? I'm telling you, Maude never had legs quite like these.

Jack: Lady, I don't know who you are. If you're determined to have your way with me, I ask you to be gentle.

Phyllis: I'll show you Maude.

Sean: You did give Brittany a little advice, didn't you? How to get what you want by playing it cool?

Jill: I'm tired of talking about the kids. Could we talk about something else?

Sean: Sure.

Jill: How have the hits been on the website?

Sean: That is not what you were about to say.

Jill: You're being ridiculous.

Sean: And you're being evasive. This is about you and me. That's what this is all about, right?

Sharon: Shouldn't you be heading to the office soon?

Nicholas: Are you trying to get rid of me?

Sharon: If you want to stick around.

Nicholas: I can look at a book or something.

Sharon: I know what you're doing.

Nicholas: What?

Sharon: You're looking for an excuse to stay and keep an eye on me. I'm a lot stronger than I look.

Nicholas: Baby, all right, I'm outta here. You promise me you'll call me if you need anything.

Sharon: I will.

Nicholas: All right. I love you, Mrs. Newman.

Sharon: I love you, Mr. Newman.

Michael: Isabella, I told you I was working on it.

Isabella: I wish you could deliver. I couldn't help wonder with Christine going to Australia if this part of the plan is important to you anymore. I'm getting in deeper and deeper with Paul. I could lose everything that matters to me.

Lynne: I'll make a call to the penitentiary and get a phone meeting with Paul. Nikki, hi.

Nikki: Hi, Lynne. Nice to see you.

Lynne: Nice to see you too.

Nikki: Marissa, I heard you were working here too. Any word from your former boss?

Marissa: I haven't heard a word from Diane.

Nikki: Is Paul available?

Lynne: Boss, Nikki Newman is here.

Paul: Send her in. This is a pleasant surprise. What sends you here?

Nikki: I need to talk to someone impartial about Larry Warton. I have to figure out if I made the right decision helping my son, by getting him out on probation. The same old dream is haunting me again.

Cody: Hey, Sharon, when did you sneak in?

Sharon: Nick just dropped me off. How's it going?

Cody: Good. How's it going with you?

Sharon: I'm sure you're wondering why I reacted the way I did last time I was here.

Cody: No need to explain. I understand. If youíll excuse me, I have to finish up.

Sharon: Oh, Larry, gosh.

Larry: I'm sorry. I didn't mean to startle you.

Sharon: That's okay. I didn't see you come in. What are you doing here?

Brittany: Okay. Fine, you want to know why Iím pushing to be part of the Glow by Jabot House? It's obvious. I love being a star.

Mackenzie: Finally we agree on something, Brittany.

Brittany: This campaign is by far the coolest thing going on this summer. I planned my entire summer around it. To lose that on top of losing you, I think that's pretty harsh, don't you?

Billy: Brittany, I just don't see how this could work.

Brittany: And I don't see how you could pass up an opportunity like this. We broke up, Billy. That's real. We're not going to pretend everything is fine. We're going to be ourselves. And that means making the transition from being a couple to being friends. There are a lot of kids going through the same thing. They can definitely relate.

Mackenzie: You do realize if this doesn't work, the campaign would be hurt big time, especially if things got ugly on screen.

Brittany: We won't let that happen.

Mackenzie: You say that now.

Brittany: For the last time, I am not trying to make this an uncomfortable situation for everyone. If it is -- yes, there will be an awkward situation but it'll pass.

Mackenzie: What if it doesn't?

Brittany: I'll bow out.

Paul: Well, here, come on, sit down.

Nikki: I'm sure John Silva kept you up to date.

Paul: Helping Larry Warton get out on probation?

Nikki: Larry's parole officer agreed.

Paul: I have a lot of respect for Leo Silvestri. He would not step up to the plate for Larry if he didn't believe him.

Nikki: I can tell myself. I guess Iím -- I don't know, I'm getting cold feet.

Paul: Has Warton done anything that worries you?

Nikki: No, no. He's a model citizen so far. There's been a lot of opposition in some corners.

Paul: Victor?

Nikki: Yeah.

Paul: Well, I can keep an eye on Larry, if you want, keep him under surveillance, put your mind at ease.

Nikki: True. He's working at Jabot. It's not like he's going to be in close contact with anyone else in the family.

Larry: I got a break from work. I figured Iíd stop by and take a chance Iíd see you.

Sharon: You wanted to see me?

Larry: Yeah. Look, is it all right if we sit down or something?

Sharon: Ah, well, sure, yeah.

Larry: Thank you. I realize your mother-in-law went out on a limb for me mainly because Nicholas wanted her to. But I know you signed off on it, too. I know it will be a while before you guys really trust me. I wanted you to know that Iím going to give it my best shot.

Sharon: What's this?

Michael: Isabella, listen to me. You and I are still on the same team. We both have a lot to gain from working together.

Isabella: You say that. I can't help but feel everything will blow up in my face, which is what I deserve.

Michael: What are you talking about?

Isabella: You have no idea what Iím going through, do you? I have met this incredible man; man of my dreams. Now he's going to send me away wishing he'd never seen my face.

Michael: Look, Isabella, it's not going to happen that way. Things are not going to fall apart.

Isabella: You found a way to make Paul believe Jamesí crimes are real?

Michael: I have. But what are you doing for dinner tonight?

Isabella: I'm supposed to have dinner with Paul at Paul's motherís.

Michael: That works out perfectly with what Iíve arranged.

Nicholas: Permission to come back to work, sir?

Victor: Hey. Hey, my boy. How the hell are you? Nice to see you back.

Nicholas: Thank you. Feels good to be back. There's something I want to talk to you about, Dad.

Victor: About Larry Warton being out on probation?

Nicholas: Yeah. You still think it's a mistake us helping him out?

Victor: I certainly hope not, son. You know, I discussed this with your mother and your sister, and I don't want to get into it now. Now that Warton is working at Jabot, there's no reason why you or anyone else in the family need to see him. You have done your good deed. Now you can move on. So, tell me about the romantic evening you had with Sharon.

Nicholas: I wanted to make it a night she'd never forget.

Victor: Did you accomplish that?

Nicholas: I think so. Sharon needed something special to help her get past the ordeal with Matt Clark, especially after the first time with coffee house.

Victor: What happened?

Nicholas: The place was loaded with memories of Matt Clark. She said she wanted to go back today.

Victor: How is she?

Nicholas: She said she's okay. I'm definitely keeping my eyes on her.

Victor: I think that's a good idea. I can't tell you how glad I am that you're back.

Nicholas: I want to jump right into it.

Victor: You do, do you? Do I have projects for you. They're very interesting and challenging. Here are the first two. Tell me which one you prefer to work on.

Nicholas: Two, huh? What if I want to do both of them? Would you let me do that?

Victor: If you're up to it.

Nicholas: I feel up to it.

Victor: Then you go for it.

Brittany: Look, I know you guys are skeptical. Just --

Billy: All right. I'll think about it. But don't hold your breath, Brittany. I still have some major reservations.

Mackenzie: So do I.

Billy: Come on. Let's go.

Mackenzie: Billy, wait.

Billy: What?

Mackenzie: J.T.'s over there. I want to say hi. I just want to talk to you about everything that's happened. Peace is hard to come by.

Jack: You know you and I should never work together.

Phyllis: Why's that?

Jack: If you were around all the time, I would get nothing done.

Phyllis: You call what we just did nothing?

Jack: I think you know what Iím talking about.

Phyllis: So what do you have planned for the rest of the day? Anything to report on the Glow by Jabot kids?

Jack: There have been a few changes. I don't think we should talk about them. I certainly don't think we should talk about them here.

Phyllis: Jack, it's not like Iím asking you to divulge any company secrets. I'm asking what's going on with the young lovers. I also want to know what your stuffy board thought of having three stars instead of four.

Jack: The rumors of Brittanyís demise are over-exaggerated. She's at the coffee house talking to the kids about coming for the summer campaign.

Phyllis: They're just talking, right? Nothing's set in stone.

Jack: The more drama there is, the more hits there will be on the website.

Phyllis: How's my buddy Sean doing? I've been meaning to check up on him. Wondering if Jill has caught him in her web yet. He has very bizarre taste in women. I guess it can be engaging. In this case it's disastrous.

Jack: It seems terribly one-sided, that is Jill's side. Then again, maybe he's the type that likes to rev it up and just let it die.

Phyllis: I don't want to talk about this. I don't want to talk about Sean and Jill and the idea of them together. It gives me the creeps. I'd rather talk about us. I'm sure it's undoubtedly all Jill in that relationship.

Jill: You're just the man with all the answers, aren't you?

Sean: I don't have all the answers. I would like to think I know you well enough.

Jill: To know what Iím thinking? To know what I'm feeling?

Sean: See, this is about you and me.

Jill: Look, I thought I had you figured out. I was 100% wrong, that's all.

Sean: Explain that.

Jill: You, my friend, are a total mystery to me. A while back I thought we achieved a certain level. And then nothing. Nothing. We haven't been out together in weeks.

Sean: I've been busy trying to get the web campaign done.

Jill: And you're trying to get some other campaign --

Sean: You're obviously upset.

Jill: I am not upset. I am -- Listen to me giving you the third degree like some jealous teenager. You make me feel like Iím 15 years old and Iím trying to figure out what's going on in my boyfriend's head.

Sean: It never occurred to you to ask?

Jill: I'm asking now. What have these past few weeks meant? Don't tell me we're savoring the moment. That sounded good at first. Now I'm beginning to think it's just you backing off. You're not saying anything. I guess it's true, huh? That's fine. I can accept that.

Sean: Look at me. Look at me. I was just sitting here thinking how in sync we've been becoming. When I woke up I have been thinking that exact same thing. I'm starting to do something about it.

Jill: Really?

Sean: I got up, called the market. I had them send over some groceries. I'm cooking you dinner tonight.

Jill: Right. I know you're trying to be polite.

Sean: This has nothing to do with being polite. Yes, I want you to feel better. I don't know how to convince you otherwise. Actually, I do know a way.

Nicholas: Wow. Dad, both these projects look very cool and very challenging.

Victor: I'm glad you think that. I know you have other responsibilities.

Nicholas: You're talking about my coffee house expansion.

Victor: Well, that was your priority before this Matt Clark nightmare.

Nicholas: I have been giving that a lot of thought lately.

Victor: And?

Nicholas: Look, if you feel I let you down by not making Newman Enterprises my top priority --

Victor: I don't feel that way.

Nicholas: I know you donít. Sometimes I think I wish you would.

Victor: I don't think I understand this. Are you saying you want me to give you more demanding work even though it's caused a lot of trouble between us?

Nicholas: That was then. Things have changed now.

Victor: Does this have to do with Sharon?

Nicholas: I haven't given up my dream of having a chain of coffee houses across the country. With these types of plans I would be gone a lot. Sharon wouldn't be able to go with me all the time because of the kids.

Victor: I understand. You don't want that separation from her right now.

Nicholas: Not right now. The last thing I want to do is make Sharon feel like I'm dropping these plans because Iím concerned about her.

Victor: You want to tell her I am the one that pressured you to taking on these extra projects.

Nicholas: Do you think you can play the heavy?

Victor: Sometimes I think I was born to, son.

Nicholas: So do I. Thank you.

Victor: You're welcome. I know you love your wife very much and Iím glad you do. I think it's a good idea to stay very close to her, especially now. That whole situation with Matt Clark was a nightmare. I'm sure it left deep scars with Sharon.

Larry: It's a present for Noah and Cassie.

Sharon: You got my kids a gift?

Larry: They are markers and crayons. The markers are for Noah. They're not the permanent ones but wash-off. I got my first paycheck and I know they like to draw. Especially Cassie. I mean, she's got a lot of potential. She's a good little artist.

Sharon: Well, thank you. This is really nice of you. You should stop by the coffee house sometime when Cassie is here. I know she'll want to thank you in person.

Larry: Really? You wouldn't mind if I came by?

Sharon: Of course not.

Larry: Okay, Well I might take you up on that offer some time.

Sharon: You are welcome any time.

Larry: I didnít want to make the wrong impression. Or have anyone think I wasnít doing my job.

Sharon: Was there something else?

Larry: Yeah, actually there is. This isn't easy for me to say, okay? I wanted to say that I'm sorry for taking so long for telling Nick what was going on. I should have strangled him with my own bare hands and taken him out before things got that far.

Cody: Sharon, is everything okay?

Sharon: Yeah, it is, Cody. Larry just bought this great gift for the kids.

Cody: Really.

Larry: Yeah. Anyway, I've got to be going. Thanks again, and take care.

[Phone ringing]

Cody: I'll get it.

Sharon: Matt Clark is dead. He's not coming back. You have to get over this.

Phyllis: Iíll see you at home later?

Jack: You are going to wear me out.

Phyllis: I'm not going to wear you out. I'm going to take you places you haven't been before. You can handle that, can't you?

Jack: I think so.

Phyllis: I'll see you tonight. You know, it must be interesting if there were heat between Jill and Sean.

Jack: Phyllis.

Phyllis: I am not going to cause problems in the workplace. I'd like to have something to hold over Jill's head. This relationship with Sean might fit the bill.

Nikki: I'm sure it's been very difficult for you and Christine to be apart for so long.

Paul: In more ways than you can imagine.

Nikki: She'll be home soon, right?

Paul: That's not true anymore. Chris isn't due back until fall, if then. Things are just going from bad to worse for us.

Nikki: I'm sorry.

Paul: It's been the most painful experience of my life. Now it's beginning to affect other people.

Nikki: What exactly are you talking about?

Paul: Do you remember a client of mine, Isabella Brogna? She was at the barbecue.

Nikki: I certainly do. She still around?

Paul: She's been in danger for quite some time. She's been staying at my place for protection. Nothing improper is going on. Lynne is staying there too. At any rate, I was on the phone with Chris the other night, and it was the worst call that we've ever had. At one point she actually accused me of having an affair with Isabella.

Nikki: Oh, dear.

Paul: When I got off the phone, I was very upset and there was Isabella trying to be sympathetic. I don't know what came over me. I just kissed her.

Nikki: Paul!

Paul: I know. It was totally unprofessional of me.

Nikki: And what was her reaction?

Paul: She said she wasn't upset. I know she had to have been.

Nikki: But she didn't run screaming for the door, did she?

Paul: You have to understand she doesn't want to leave. She's scared to death what might happen to her. She feels very safe and comfortable with me.

Nikki: Yes, I'm sure she does.

Michael: Now that you know what I'm planning, can you see I have everything under control?

Isabella: Do you think it'll work?

Michael: Please, have faith. Look, it's all going to work out. I promise. You have nothing to worry about.

Isabella: I have to go.

Michael: I know. I'll talk to you later.

Jill: Sean, who are you calling?

Sean: Calling the grocery store to confirm my grocery order for you. That way any doubts you had will be dispelled.

Jill: Donít. It's too convenient. I get upset and all of a sudden you plan to make dinner for me?

Sean: It's one of life's amazing coincidences.

Jill: You're making fun of me.

Sean: No, I'm not. I would like to see you smile. I am making this dinner just for you, very special. Don't turn me down on this now.

Jill: Okay. What time is dinner?

Sean: Whenever you're ready to leave. I did mean what I said about us becoming more and more in sync. It makes you think what's going to happen when we really get going.

Paul: Nikki, if you're going where I think you're going --

Nikki: Paul, come on. It's obvious this girl is attracted to you.

Paul: Whether or not that's true, I shouldn't have kissed her. I crossed the line, both professionally and personally.

Nikki: I can't help wondering from what you said and what you haven't said that perhaps you're feeling more here than just anger and frustration about your marriage. I don't know what Isabella is thinking. I think she's quite happy being right where she is.

Lynne: Excuse me, Paul, Isabella's here.

Isabella: I didn't mean to interrupt. Mrs. Newman.

Nikki: That's all right. I was just leaving.

Isabella: Nice to see you again.

Nikki: Yeah, you too. Can you walk me out?

Paul: I'll be right back.

Nikki: Watch out for that one, all right? Keep in touch.

Billy: We're close.

Mackenzie: Where are we?

Billy: Just relax and give me a sec. I have to do something before.

Mackenzie: Before what? Billy, what are you doing? What's that noise?

Billy: What noise? I didn't hear anything. You're imagining things.

Mackenzie: Okay. Whatever you say.

Billy: You can open them now.

Mackenzie: Oh, my gosh! I don't believe you did this.

Billy: Well, it's just a few candles.

Mackenzie: Not bringing me to our special place.

Billy: Oh, she remembers.

Mackenzie: Of course, I do. The only place we could come last summer where we didn't have to hide.

Billy: That's all in the past, Mac. We never have to hide our feelings again. What are you thinking about?

Mackenzie: Still trying to figure out what Brittany's really up to. I can't believe she made it sound like she deserves a second chance. I assume you're going to tell her she's not going to get the chance she's looking for.

Billy: Well, Mac, that's not exactly what I said.

Mackenzie: But that's what you meant, right?

Billy: Listen to me. I didn't want Brittany to know where my head was until I had a chance to talk to you.

Mackenzie: So?

Billy: So, after hearing her out, you know, maybe we should consider it. Thinking about letting her work with us this summer.

Mackenzie: What?
