Port Charles Transcript Thursday 9/26/02

By Amanda

Marissa: I've waited a long time for this.

Ricky: Marissa, what are you talking about?

Jack: That last jump was awesome, man. I'm telling you, it's going to be the shot.

Marissa: Oh, wait, wait. How'd the photo shoot go?

Jack: Amazing.

Jamal: It went all right.

Jack: You got to see my boy on the bike.

Marissa: Oh, great. Anything i could use for my article, then?

Jack: I'll see if we can work something out.

Jamal: Yo.

Ricky: Hey.

Jamal: What's up, man?

Ricky: Not much.

Jamal: I didn't get to -- get to apologize last night --

ricky: No, no. Forget it, dude.

Jamal: Yeah, well, it just kind of threw me, that's all. When i heard marissa scream and I found you two in the woods --

ricky: You know what? You didn't know, and i probably would have reacted the same way. I mean, if she was my girl.

Jamal: So we're cool?

Ricky: Yeah, man, definitely.

Jamal: Cool. All right. Hey. What's going on? So, are you almost done so we can get out of here?

Marissa: Hmm -- not quite.

Jamal: Oh. All this on bikes, huh?

Marissa: Well, you know what, honey? This actually isn't a bike piece.

Jamal: No? What is it, then?

Marissa: Well, it's a story, semifactual, about that thing, that weird thing that we saw out in the woods.

Jamal: Ah -- come on. You writing about that?

Marissa: No, no -- and the bike thing, ok? I mean, you guys and the bike in the story, it's going to be really great. It's just, you know, more of a feature piece.

Jamal: Hey, it's ok. It's ok, it's fine.

Marissa: It's just this is more immediate, you know?

Jamal: Yeah, and something that you're more interested in writing about. That's cool.

Marissa: I'm a reporter, ok? I want to figure it out, all right? Why was it out there? What was it after? Why was it lurking in the bushes looking at us? And why steal all of our food, and then bring us back soup in a pumpkin?

Jamal: It's a mystery, all right?

Marissa: Right, exactly. And as we all know, everyone loves a mystery.

Jamal: Not everyone.

Jack: So is there a character in the story who sleepwalks?

Marissa: Oh, of course. The impossibly brave heroine who takes off after the thing in the dead of the night and doesn't even remember leaving the bed.

Ricky: You really don't remember anything about what happened last night?

Marissa: No. It's pretty freaky, huh?

Lucy: And another bill and -- ooh, i hope that's -- whoa, ah! Sale at wyndham'S. Used to love those. Dr. Kevin collins. Dentist appointment reminder. I miss you, doc, so much. So much.

[Knock on door]

lucy: Alison, hi.

Alison: Hi. Hi. Is this a bad time?

Lucy: No, it's a great time for a visit. I need a visit. Come on in, please.

Alison: Ok.

Lucy: Um -- ok, you want to -- something's going on, isn't it? I can see it on your face. What is it?

Alison: Yeah, something -- something kind of big's happened.

Lucy: "Kind of big"? What does that mean?

Alison: We did it.

Lucy: Ok, we did what?

Alison: We did it. Rafe -- he remembered everything. He remembered it all.

Lucy: He did?

Alison: Yeah.

Lucy: Everything?

Alison: Yeah, he did.

Lucy: I knew he would. It really happened?

Alison: Yeah, it did.

Lucy: Really, really, really?

Alison: He came back to me.

Lucy: Oh, my goodness!

Alison: He came back to me and we said everything that we needed to say to each other, everything that was on our hearts.

Lucy: Oh, I'm so happy for you.

Alison: Yeah.

Lucy: And for both of you.

Oh, gosh, I'm happy! Oh, my goodness.

Alison: Yeah. You helped do it, though. You helped save rafe's soul.

Lucy: No, no, no, I --

alison: Yes, you did.

Lucy: No, I didn't. It was you. You did it. Oh, alison, ------ oh, but wait a minute. This means that rafe has to go back home, doesn't it?

Alison: Yeah. Lucy? Rafe already went home, thanks to some help from livvie.

Livvie's voice: I'll make sure nothing happens to the avatar or to you.

Ian: All right. Ambulance is on its way.

Livvie: I really am sorry for being so much trouble.

Ian: No, just lay down and relax, ok?

Livvie: Ok. I'll try.

Ian: Keep you nice and warm. There. Now, let's see what we got here.

Rafe's voice: "Latest findings suggest possible ways to destroy the avatar, and not just the host. The shroud is a talisman of sorts. It gives the creature its strength, but only when the host accepts the spirit into his body. What happens, though, when it leaves the host to enter another? What if, in that small moment of transition, the new host suddenly rejects the spirit of the avatar? Something to think about. Discuss with ian."

Ian: This may be it. This may be what we need to destroy the avatar once and for all.

Frank: Oh, karen -- go. You can't break the energy field! Go!

Karen: No! No, I've got to do something, frank!

Frank: I don't want you to get hurt!

Karen: But if i leave, it'll kill you! Frank!

[Captioning made possible by abc, inc.]

Ian: Sharp abdominal pains, no bleeding, no nausea, no vomiting. All right, i got to go. You're in good hands.

Livvie: Hey, you're leaving? I thought you were going to go with me.

Ian: No, it's all right. Dr. Neumann's waiting for you at the hospital. Everything's going to be fine.

Paramedic: Livvie, we're going to take good care of you. You got nothing to worry about, ok? We promise.

Ian: All right, karen, let's try this one more time.

Karen: So if I do this, how will it work?

Ian: We find frank, you talk to him and convince him to become the avatar.

Karen: And when he does, I get the shroud.

Ian: And rafe and i will take care of the rest. Don't tell me you're going to try and do this alone. All right, livvie, i got to go. I got an emergency.

Livvie: But, ian --

ian: Please, just stay with these guys. They'll take care of you. Don't argue with them.

Livvie: Damn it.

Paramedic: Ready to go, miss?

Livvie: I'm fine.

Paramedic: But the doctor said --

livvie: The doctor's wrong. Just get out and leave me alone, ok?

Paramedic: Whatever you say, lady. Just sign here and we'll get out of your way.

Livvie: I know where you're going, ian. If you think you're going to destroy the avatar, the father of my baby, you're wrong. Because I'm not going to let you.

Lucy: Livvie shot rafe and she killed him?

Alison: She said that she wanted me to suffer like she did.

Lucy: Oh, my god. Oh, my god.

Alison: But she didn't really realize that he would be going home anyway.

Lucy: She'll do just about anything, won't she?

Alison: Oh, yeah -- just when you think that she can't get any lower.

Lucy: Well, then we're going to have to make her pay for everything she's done. She has to be made to pay. You know, I think she had something to do with kevin's breakdown. I really believe that. All the stress she put him through, all the worry -- she was part of it. I would bank on that.

Alison: How is he doing? Is there any sort of change at all?

Lucy: No, no change. But you know what? At least he's safe where no one can get to him and i keep thinking maybe he's going to get better -- come back to me like rafe came back to you, huh?

Alison: Yeah, you know what? And he will. He really will. And if there's anything that, you know, I could do at all --

lucy: Thanks -- no, thank you. At this point, i don't think there's anything anybody can do.

Alison: I'm sorry.

Lucy: Yeah. Me, too. You know, I -- i had, I think, the longest flight i've ever been on from switzerland and I just -- I kept thinking about what is going on with all of us. Why are we going through all of this? It doesn't make any sense. It's like we're on some sort of fight against evil. You know, we keep vanquishing the bad guys, but they keep coming back and we keep trying to bounce back up, don't we? But we keep getting hit over and over again. We keep trying to rise above it again and again.

Alison: I know. You know, I was thinking about that, too. And I know this is going to sound really silly, but what if this place where we live is like some sort of battleground?

Lucy: What do you mean, some kind of battleground?

Alison: Like the light and the darkness, they challenge each other somehow. I mean, we both know that there's angels because we've seen that. And we also know that there's -- that there's the darkness, too, the evil side. I mean, we've seen proof of that.

Lucy: Yeah. Ok, I'll go with you on that. Maybe there -- there is some sort of battleground here in port charles. You know, good is waging a battle against evil, and just maybe we're all part of that battle, too.

Alison: My question is, how long can we keep fighting the darkness before we lose?

Frank: Stop fighting, karen. It's too powerful. Go!

Karen: No, I won't accept this! There's got to be a way! I won't give up!

Frank: I love you, karen!

Karen: Frank --

frank: I'll love you forever.

Karen: Frank? Oh, my --

ian: Karen?

Jamal: Hey, marissa, let me ask you something.

Marissa: Huh?

Jamal: What is the weirdest thing you've ever done in your sleep?

Marissa: Wow. Ok, I guess that would have to be the time that I cooked a five-course gourmet dinner and ate the whole thing by myself.

Jack: No way. Come on.

Jamal: Oh, yeah, right.

Marissa: Way.

Jamal: Well, how do you know you just weren't dreaming that?

Marissa: Oh, jeez, let's see. A million dirty dishes, a missing chicken, and a really, really bad case of indigestion since I am so not a gourmet cook.

Jamal: Wow. Oh, my god. That just completely blows my mind, you know that?

Marissa: Yeah. You know, the whole sleepwalking thing always tripped me out, too. Maybe I should make my story into a screenplay. You know, "young reporter goes camping with three hot, young studs. Runs halfway naked through the woods and --"

jamal: Mm-hmm.

Marissa: "Doesn't remember a thing she did in the morning."

Jamal: Mm-hmm.

Jack: Well, you know what? I saw that on a late-night cable station.

Jamal: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, me, too.

Jack: It's not too bad.

Jamal: If you need anything on research, i can help you research some of that stuff --

jack: All right, all right. You guys ready to hit it?

Jamal: I am hitting it, baby.

Jack: All right, let's go.

Marissa: We're ready.

Ricky: You know what, guys? I'm going to catch up with you guys later.

Jack: Whoa, whoa, whoa.

Jamal: What do you mean?

Ricky: Well, I'm supposed to meet one of my band mates up here and check out a club that's nearby.

Jamal: Oh.

Jack: Are you sure you don't want us to wait?

Ricky: I am, but thanks.

Jamal: All right. Well, we'll see you in p.C., Then.

Ricky: Yeah.

Jamal: All right.

Jack: All right, man.

Jamal: All right, cool.

Jack: Be safe. Be safe.

Ricky: Thanks, man. Take it easy, guys.

Marissa: Ricky, you sure everything's ok?

Ricky: Yeah, everything's fine. Why wouldn't it be?

Marissa: I don't know. Just -- just asking.

Ricky: Have a good trip back.

Marissa: Thanks. You, too, all right? Be safe.

Lucy: Why do i get the feeling that there's something else you've been thinking about since rafe left?

Alison: You know, I don't -- i've been thinking about a lot of things, I think. I've been thinking about my life and, you know, the purpose of why i'm here, and i really feel like I've changed a lot, you know, and I felt like I've lived a thousand lifetimes in the last couple of years.

Lucy: So you think you really changed since you were that little candy striper at the hospital who wanted a big flashy fast B.M.W., And that's it?

Alison: Yeah, I'd like to think so. It changes a little bit.

Lucy: Maybe a little.

Alison: But I think the best part about all of it was making the incredible friendships that i have. I mean, really true friendships that will last a lifetime.

Lucy: Well, you know, I believe that friendships make all the difference in the world.

Alison: Yeah. I mean, especially to someone who's not really had a lot of family like me. You know, I feel like i have the perfect family now. And, of course, I found rafe who is my soul mate and who taught me so many lessons. And I think the biggest thing that he taught me was to really open up my heart and trust what it was saying.

Lucy: Big message he taught you, huh? That must have been so hard for you to say good-bye.

Alison: Yeah, you know, it was. But I think there was some part of me that -- that found some sort of strength at the last minute, because inside i was screaming for him to stay with me and to love me forever. But I also know that i have my own life that i need to live.

Lucy: Yeah, you really do.

Alison: Which brings me to the next thing that i came here to talk to you about.

Lucy: Uh-huh. I sort of knew there was something else going on here.

Alison: Yeah. Even though I've made some really incredible friendships and a real sense of belonging that i feel here, I feel like my destiny is telling me --

lucy: Maybe your destiny lies elsewhere?

Alison: Yeah. I don't -- i don't want you to think that I'm abandoning the fight, but I have to leave port charles.

[Karen sobs]

ian: The shroud is gone.

Karen: Wait. Oh, frank! Frank! Help me out here. Please. I'll get you back. I'll get you back.

Ian: Come on, frank.

Karen: Oh, frank! Oh, my god, he's alive!

Ian: Yeah.

Karen: Ian, he's alive! Oh, my god! Oh, my god. Oh, I was so scared. Oh, my gosh.

Ian: Hey! Avatar? Where are you going? I'm right here, come and face me. You want a just man? I am a just man. I am justice. I am righteous fury, the avenger of those who suffer, the last line of defense against darkness. I am you, and I will fight your fight! Come on! Take me! Let me be your host!

Ricky: Marissa. Marissa, wake up. You're sleepwalking again.

Marissa: Not this time.

Marissa: This is so exciting. I can barely take the suspense.

Jack: Well, the suspense is almost over because whatever was in those woods, I got it on film.

Jamal: Yep, and then you have a picture to go with your story, baby girl.

Marissa: Oh, I hope, I hope. I -- I don't see anything.

Jamal: Yeah, there's nothing but trees and stuff, jack.

Jack: Damn.

Jamal: Trees.

Jack: I thought that -- wait a minute.

Marissa: What?

Jack: Well, there's something on the ground, right where we saw the moving in the bushes. What the hell?

Marissa: Oh, let me see.

Jamal: What is that? What?

Jack: Oh, this is going to sound kind of crazy, but it looks kind of like a doll. Like a little girl's rag doll.

Lucy: You know as much as i hate saying good-bye to you, I -- i know that you have to go whichever direction the universe is pulling you in.

Alison: I knew that if anybody would understand, it would be you.

Lucy: Oh, yeah. I have taken some varied journeys in my life, boy. I mean, I've had some amazing adventures. I wouldn't trade them for anything in the whole wide world. And sometimes I've been at a place where i swore nothing on heaven and earth could ever get me back to port charles and -- guess what.

Alison: Here you are.

Lucy: Here i am. So, listen, you. I do not believe you're abandoning the good fight, I don'T. I think all you're doing is following your heart and you're following your instincts. If you do that, trust me, they will always take you in the right direction.

Alison: Thanks. I love you.

Lucy: Oh, gosh. I love you, too. I'll miss you.

Ian: Did you hear me, avatar? I want to be your next host.

Frank: Stop him. You have to stop him.

Ian: Avatar! I'm waiting!

Karen: Ian, stop, right now! Just stop it! Ian, no!

Frank: Ian!

Karen: My god, frank, do something!

Frank: I can't get it!

Karen: Oh, he's all gone! Ian!

Frank: Ian!

Karen: Ian!

Livvie: This can't be happening. I can't lose you.

Frank: Ian!

Karen: My god, frank, do something!

>> Stay tuned for scenes from the next "port charles: Torn."

>> On the next "port charles" --

alison: I'm leaving town.

Livvie: I never stopped wanting you.

Jack: Maybe we could get it all back.

Livvie: Really?

Jack: Maybe we should start trying tonight.
