ian: I would like to write off this avatar as an urban legend, believe me, but I saw it and I heard it.
Tim: Ah, come on, ian. What you saw was probably just some whack job who's read too many comic books, threw on a cape, and decided to be the hooded avenger.
Ian: I don't know.
Tim: You're not really buying it's some ancient spirit? Thornhart, my old college roommate's the type of guy that believes that everything that happens on the "x-files" is real.
Ian: Sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction. And I thought you'd know about that in your line of work.
Tim: Sure, because people have been incorporating myths and stories into their lives for centuries. But that doesn't make them real. Sometimes a myth is just a myth, my friend. She, on the other hand, is very real and very hot.
Ian: Will you look at that. That's my friend kate. She drew the picture. She saw it and heard this thing as well.
Livvie: Ok, I did what i had to do, and now i really am pregnant. And rafe never has to know that this baby isn't his. I've got time to make him fall in love with me now. God, where is he?
Kevin: Livvie, I just got back. I find out you're in the hospital. Are you all right?
Livvie: Yeah. Yeah, actually, it's good news. Dad, lucy, I'm pregnant. You're going to be grandparents.
Alison: We can't go back now, even if you remembered everything. It doesn't matter. We can't be a part of each other's life now. And I think that you know that, too, don't you?
Rafe: I'm sorry. I'm really sorry.
Alison: I know. I know you are.
Rafe: But you know what? Whatever it is that I feel when i'm around you, whatever this thing is between us, it just feels -- oh, you're right. We can't do this. The baby deserves a real home, a real family. I have to try to make this work with livvie. But you know what -- i know we had something real, alison. I know it when i look in your eyes and i feel it in every part of me. Even though I don't remember it, I know it was real.
Alison: I'm not really sure if that makes me feel better or worse, but I think that i really needed to hear you say that.
Rafe: I wish -- I wish that --
alison: I know. I know. Me, too. I know. But now there's a child involved. And, rafe, i would expect nothing less of you. So -- so, I guess this is good-bye, then.
Rafe: Wait. Don't go.

lucy: You are pregnant?
Kevin: Wow. Honey, i'm not sure what to say.
Livvie: Well, you can at least be happy for me, dad, because i am.
Kevin: Oh, honey, i am, i am. I am happy for you. I just -- whoo, I'm just a little surprised.
Lucy: Somehow I'm not really surprised. There's never a dull moment, is there, livvie, ever with you?
Kevin: Livvie, come here. Ok. How far along are you and why didn't you call me in england and tell me?
Livvie: Well, we wanted to make sure, you know, and I -- I'm just a few weeks now.
Kevin: But everything's ok? I mean, colleen seemed to think something was wrong when you came in here.
Livvie: No, everything's fine. I just passed out.
Kevin: You passed out?
Livvie: Yeah, but it's nothing, dad. I'm fine, the baby's fine, and rafe was just a little worried, so he checked me into the hospital.
Lucy: So rafe's ok with this?
Livvie: He's my husband, lucy. I know you want him and alison together, but I'm married to him and now I'm carrying his child. Can't you at least be there for me now?
Lucy: Well, yes, i'm there for you. Of course I am. And we're there for you. How about you be at the lighthouse with us? You could move back in with us. We could take care of you, help you out.
Livvie: Yeah, that sounds nice, but I would really like to raise my child with my husband.
Lucy: But rafe doesn't love you.
Kevin: Lucy --
livvie: All I want is to be a family. I love rafe and this baby more than anything, and i just want to give them a good home. And all you can do is talk about how rafe is going to leave me. You think I'm going to be alone.
Kevin: No, honey. It's ok. You're not going to be alone.
Livvie: Dad, look, i need to splash some water on my face. I'll be back.
Lucy: What are you doing? What are you doing?
Kevin: What are you doing?
Lucy: I am being honest.
Kevin: Lucy, she's pregnant and you're upsetting her. Now, will you please back off and give her a break?
Lucy: No. No, I can't, because i have this horrible feeling this whole thing is going to end in a disaster.
Rafe: I'm sorry. It's just so hard to watch you walk away. I mean -- this is strange. I don't remember us, but i know what i'd be giving up.
Alison: Right. Some connections are so strong, you feel them no matter what.
Rafe: I'd give anything to not have it be this way.
Alison: Me, too.
Rafe: I don't want to hurt you, alison. I'm sorry. I --
alison: I know. I know you don't. I will never regret loving you. There's just -- rafe, there's no place for me in your life anymore.
Rafe: That's right. I mean, we decided. That's right. I have to -- I have to make things work with livvie. We can't do this, and now i won't let you go. What's wrong with me?
Alison: Rafe, there's nothing -- there's nothing wrong with you. You've always protected the people that you love and you care about. And now that you have a child on the way, of course you're going to do anything to sacrifice and give your baby whatever he or she needs because that's just the person that you are. You have a beautiful heart, a selfless heart, and a kind soul. It's the one that I fell in love with, so -- so how can i blame you for being that man?
Tim: Hey, you've got good taste in friends, thornhart.
Ian: She's taken.
Tim: So am I, but i can still appreciate a beautiful woman. So, that's the man in her life?
Ian: It looks like it, yeah.
Tim: So, if you two are friends, how have you never met the guy?
Ian: She's working on a case in port charles, and he's here. What's the problem?
Tim: Listen -- if you're both curious about this avatar myth, here's a place you should be able to find some literature on it. Go ahead and slap me if this inappropriate, but are you and her --
ian: What? No, no. Just surprised is all.
Tim: Oh, because he's a lot older?
Ian: The way she was talking -- I don't know -- she made it sound like they were both in the same place in their lives.
Tim: Why don't you just go over there and meet the guy?
Ian: All right. Maybe I will. Do you want to meet the lady?
Tim: Ah -- I'll leave you three to get acquainted. I have to get back downtown.
Ian: Ok. Well, it's nice to see you, tim.
Tim: Yeah. Yeah. You, too. You never cease to surprise me, thornhart.
Ian: Right. Do me a favor.
Ian: Next time you go on one of those digs, don't just disappear. I may need you in this.
Tim: I won'T. And besides, i'm going to have to collect on our bet.
Ian: What bet is that?
Tim: The one that says in a few weeks when they catch this guy -- what did you say his name was?
Ian: Shadow man.
Tim: Right -- shadow man. Well, my money's on him turning out to be a comic book nut job like i said.
Ian: Well, I hope you're right.
Tim: Hmm. Well, good luck. Oh, and here -- call me again soon.
Ian: I will.
Tim: All right.
Ian: Thanks, man. Hey, my friend over there -- she come in a lot?
Bartender: You mean kate?
Ian: Yeah. Good, so you do know her. I want to send her a nice bottle of wine for her and her significant other over there.
Bartender: That's not her date. He owns the restaurant.
Bartender: Yeah. I mean, it's been a while, but kate used to come here all the time. Everybody here knows her. She looks amazing, and she always eats alone.
Lucy: You know, doc, just now when livvie told us she was pregnant, you weren't exactly jumping up and down. You can't tell me you're taking this as good news.
Kevin: Well, lucy, obviously, given the circumstances, i'm not exactly thrilled about it.
Lucy: Ok. Ok, good. Then i think we should go in there and talk to her, you know, and try to work something --
kevin: No, no, no. The last thing she needs is to feel ganged up on or being abandoned.
Lucy: I'm not abandoning her. I just offered for her to come live with us --
kevin: Something that she doesn't want. She doesn't want to live with us, lucy. She wants to live with rafe.
Lucy: Oh, doc, come on.
Kevin: Lucy, I have to be there for her right now. All you have to do is be there with me.
Lucy: I know. I'm always there with you. I want to be there with you. It's just everything inside of me is screaming that this is so wrong.
Kevin: She's my daughter. And I know she has some problems. Lucy, I can't help her if we alienate her.
Lucy: Ok, ok, fine. So, what are you asking me to do? Just go along with this whole fantasy of hers?
Kevin: What fantasy? They're expecting a child, lucy, and livvie loves rafe.
Lucy: Rafe does not love her.
Kevin: You don't know that, not for sure.
Lucy: I do know that. I know that for sure. Rafe loves alison, and you know that, too. Rafe and alison belong together.
Kevin: No, no, no. No, no, no. We can't start deciding who should be with whom, lucy. They need to figure that out on their own.
Lucy: Oh, boy. Well, then, I want you to see what path we're headed down here. Alison and rafe belong together. Now, rafe may not remember that, but he loves alison, so your daughter is going to have this loveless marriage. What kind of life is that for the child she's raising? It's not right. Rafe loves alison. He will never love livvie -- ever.
Livvie: You have no idea what you're talking about, lucy. And if you can't be there for me and rafe and be happy for us, then i don't want you here. I don't want you ruining what should be one of the happiest moments of my life.
Kevin: Lucy didn't mean --
lucy: No, it's -- I'm going to go. Congratulations.
Alis: If you keep touching me like this, I'm afraid that i won't be able to let you go.
Rafe: It's just that being with you just feels so right.
Alison: Don't, don't. Please don't.
Rafe: You're right. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have. I know where i need to be and what i need to be doing. I know.
Alison: Yeah. Rafe, you are really going to be an amazing father. Your son or daughter is very lucky to have you.
Rafe: You going to be ok?
Alison: Yeah, I have to be.
Rafe: Oh. I wish i could remember you. I wish i could remember us.
Alison: I think, under the circumstances, it's probably better that you don'T.
Rafe: Yeah. Well -- take care of yourself.
Alison: Yeah. You, too. A ú
Ian: I thought she had somebody.
Bartender: If she does, I've never seen him. I've seen guy after guy ask to join her, and she always shoots them down. You're friends with her. What's her story?
Ian: Her story's her business, all right?
Bartender: Still want me to send over that wine?
Ian: No. Looks like she doesn't want to be disturbed. That's for you.
Lucy: Alison, hey.
Alison: Hey. How are you?
Lucy: Oh, I guess you know.
Alison: Yeah. Livvie's pregnant.
Lucy: I am so sorry. I'm really sorry about this. Have you had a chance, maybe, to talk to rafe? You know, maybe there's something you guys could work out.
Alison: Yeah, I just -- I just talked to him not too long ago. He was here. But he's staying with her.
Lucy: Oh, well, I guess that doesn't really surprise me, knowing rafe the way i do. He'd sort of do the right thing like that.
Lucy: You know, you realize livvie must've told so many lies to get rafe to marry her. And now she's just going to use this baby to tie her to him --
alison: I know, I know, but it doesn't matter now because there's a child involved. So that's the way it has to be. His obligation is to her now.
Lucy: No, no, I --
alison: Lucy --
lucy: I think it does matter. It matters a lot. This is not right for anybody. Nobody wins here.
Alison: It's over, lucy. I have to let him go.
Livvie: You know, lucy is wrong, dad. Rafe and i are very happy together, and he will love me again. And I already know he loves his baby.
Kevin: Honey, i just don't want you to get hurt again.
Livvie: Well, I will be hurt if you don't support me. I really, really need that, dad.
Rafe: Could I have some time alone with livvie, dr. Collins?
Kevin: Yeah, yeah, of course. Honey, i'll always be there for you. Don't ever doubt that.
Livvie: Thank you.
Livvie: Where have you been?
Rafe: With alison.
Livvie: That's really nice. You find out i'm pregnant, and the first thing you do is go and see her.
Rafe: I told her that we couldn't see each other anymore. I'm going to be a father to this child, and i'm going to be your husband.
Livvie: Rafe -- oh, honey, we're going to be so happy -- you and me and the baby -- I promise. I'll make sure of it. I promise.
rafe: I'll get you some water.
Livvie: It worked. I finally have everything. And no one will ever know our little secret.
Boy: You be the bad guy. I want to be the shadowy avenger.
Second boy: No way. I'm the shadowy avenger.
Third boy: You're not tough enough to be the shadowy avenger.
First boy: Nobody is. He's like -- he's like superman.
Third boy: He's better than superman. He's like superman, batman, and spider-man all put together.
Second boy: Do you think he'll stay here forever?
Third boy: I hope so. He's the best superhero ever.
>> stay tuned for scenes from the next "port charles: Torn."
>> On the next "port charles" --
marissa: Is this my sister?
Rafe: The avatar.
Ian: What, you know about this thing?
Rafe: I not only know about it. I've seen it in action.
Livvie: What is happening to me?
Who do you think is the new "Shadow" that is beating up the bad guys on Port Charles?
