Ian: Lucy.

Ian: Hey.

Lucy: Hey.

Ian: You ok?

Lucy: I don't know.

Ian: You don't know?

Lucy: I can't -- I cannot feel anything.

Ian: You can't, huh?

Lucy: No. It's not cold out. It's not from that. You know, I remember a time when this would be the absolute perfect summer evening. But I'm -- I'm so numb.

Ian: How long you been out here?

Lucy: What, is it Friday? It's still Friday, right?

Ian: Mm-hmm.

Lucy: Oh. Well, then I evidently have been out here a short time. I feel like I've been out here such a much longer time than that.

Ian: How'd it go at the hospital?

Lucy: I really -- you know, I did think I could get Livvie to confess to all the things she did to set Alison up.

Ian: Tell me.

Lucy: Livvie believes with all her heart that her father is gone. Now it's your turn.

Ian: My turn to what?

Lucy: You tell me. Do you believe Doc's gone?

Rafe: Hi. Thanks for coming by. You can come in for a minute. Ahem. This is a little embarrassing. I mean, thanks for coming by. I know you have to probably get back to the desk. I don't really know how to ask this, I don't even know if I should, but my wife and I are staying here -- Livvie -- and she had to go to the hospital to see her father. The problem is she left with all the cash and, well, we got into this big fight and I really want to make it up to her, I have to get there, so I'm wondering if you could maybe float me a twenty.

Woman: Hmm.

Rafe: I know it sounds crazy. You know what? Don't do it for me. Do it for love. Please?

Woman: Boy, do you know a sucker for romance when you see one.

Rafe: Really? Oh, thank you so much. This means a lot to me.

Woman: I hope that it works out for both of you.

Rafe: Yeah, me, too.

Livvie: The whole world is against me now, Alison, thanks to you. But so what if they don't believe me and they believe you because, you know what, you got what you deserved. You killed my father and now you're paying for it. And if you do wake up, you're still going to lose. Because you're too late, Ali. You remember Rafe. Rafe and I -- you remember him, right? Well, we're happily married.

Lucy: You know, when you look at me like that, I cannot tell what you're thinking. So I need you just to tell me, should I or should I not let go of Kevin?

Ian: Truth be told, I don't think we need an answer tonight.

Lucy: You don't want to answer the question, do you? I mean, will you not answer it for me or do you really believe that tonight's not the night because this feels like this day was a whole week?

Ian: I don't think we should make a decision when we're tired.

Lucy: I am tired. Very tired. I'm tired of living every day without Kevin. I'm tired of him not being here. I'm tired of all the ups and downs. I'm tired of hoping for something, and then every time I turn around, I hope for something, and then I have absolutely nothing.

Ian: I'm proud of you.

Lucy: For what?

Ian: Finding the strength to stay on the ground maybe. Come here.

Rafe: Hi. Good evening.

Kate: Do I know you?

Rafe: Actually, we did, we met in passing, but not really.

Kate: Oh.

Rafe: And I was walking down the hallway and I saw the sign for the chapel and I just, you know -- I'm not exactly sure why I came in here. I've been ending up in a lot of places like this lately. I don't really know why, but feels right. Feels like -- like I belong.

Kate: The chapel's exactly the place to be when you're not sure about something.

Rafe: Seem like you're not sure about something yourself.

Kate: I let my friend down.

Rafe: Not deliberately. I can tell you that.

Kate: No. No, not deliberately.

Rafe: Well, I'm sorry about your friend.

Kate: Thanks. Well, since I can't turn back the clock and I already feel the way I do, I think this would be a good time for me to visit my grandma. I always felt like I could talk to her about anything.

Rafe: See, you're lucky you've got somebody like that in your life.

Kate: Think so?

Rafe: Yeah.

Kate: Then I guess I'm a lucky girl. Good night.

Rafe: Good night.

Rafe: Ok. Don't know why I'm here, don't know why I'm doing this, but it feels right. Oh, just trust, Rafe, just trust.

Rafe: Ok. I think I've done all I can do.

Livvie: Hello. God, I was expecting a bigger reaction than that to the news. Do you want me to tell you again, Alison? See, Rafe, he's back and, yes, we're together. Turns out your poor angel doesn't remember a thing about ever being in love with you. And I -- I have another little secret. Ok, ok, I'll tell you. Ok. It was me. Yeah. I planted my father's bloody sweater in the trunk of your car and I put my Uncle Ryan's ashes on the Barrington grounds. Oh, yeah, and another thing -- you were right about Rafe. Oh, my God, is he just wonderful. Hmm. Well, anyway, I just -- I want you to lie back, relax, and don't you worry your pretty little face about a thing. Because I'm going to make the man happy for the rest of our lives.

Ian: All right, Mrs. Collins, what do you say?

Lucy: I say I think I just need to stay out here a little bit longer.

Ian: I don't like the idea of you out here alone.

Lucy: It's ok. Really, I just -- I need a few minutes and then I'll be right in.

Ian: Ok. I'm going to go for a drive, I think.

Lucy: Ok, I'll see you when you get home.

Ian: You will.

Lucy: Ian?

Lucy: Wow. I throw a rock in and it just sinks to the bottom. Makes all those ripples for a minute and it just flattens right out again within seconds. Doesn't matter what the size of the rock or the weight of it. It just sinks, all of it. Going to the bottom, it's gone. It's just flat, like it never existed. There's got to be something to that. There has to be something. If you don't want something to disappear, you can't let it sink to the bottom. Don't let it drop in. It makes ripples for a minute and then it's just gone forever. I -- I can't let Doc do that. I can't let him disappear. Can't let my hope that he's going to come back just disappear like that. I can't let it fall in. I can't let it disappear. I won't. Listen, whoever's up there listening to me, I need -- I need to hold onto this. I need to not let my hope and my Doc disappear, so I need a sign from you. Could you just give me one little sign?

Rafe: Hi. Excuse me.

Nurse: How can I help you?

Rafe: I'm looking for someone named Livvie Locke. Do you know her? Has she been around here today?

Nurse: I think she went to the I.C.U. She said she had a friend there she need to visit.

Rafe: I see. Thanks.

Livvie: Well, we're leaving tonight, Ali, driving away with a clear conscience. So I -- I wanted to say happy atrophy. Have a nice rest and a long, long, long life. If you can call it that.

Rafe: Ok, Livvie, here I come.

Ian: Ah, Lambert. You're probably wondering what I'm doing out here alone in the middle of the night. I have nowhere else to go. No one else to talk to. I talk to Danny, you know. Little man, God bless him, his conversation skills are still a little limited. Maybe that's a good thing. Because I know the day will come when he'll ask me what happened to his mother. And he'll ask me why I wasn't there to save her. And I won't have an answer for him. I won't have an answer for him other than God made a mistake. He took someone who had so much to give to the world. So much love, so much hope for a little boy. He took her and he left me to fill her shoes. Truth be told, I don't know if I can. I don't have the passion for life that you did, not anymore. And the day is -- it goes by like a shadow on my heart, and the only joy that I allow myself to feel is when I'm sitting here with you.

Lucy: Could I maybe have a sign that that was a sign? I mean, just something a little more specific maybe, you know -- maybe?

[Leaves rustle]

Lucy: A rustle in the bushes? I get a rustle in the bushes? You know, I don't know what I'm hoping for here, maybe it was locusts descending down upon me, but I'm just hoping for a little bit bigger sign, you know? Look, maybe Livvie's right. Lightning is just lightning. Rustles in bushes are just rustles in the bushes. Ok, listen, maybe I'm going about this the whole wrong way. Maybe I'm just not getting what you're trying to tell me.

Kevin: Lucy?

Kevin: It's me.

Lucy: Doc? Oh, my -- oh, my God. Oh. Oh! Oh, my God, it is you.

Lucy: It's really you. You're home. You're home! You're -- you're -- you're home!

Livvie: Rafe? Rafe? Hello? Ok. Ok, Livvie, he couldn't have gone too far without any cash. All right. Oh, great. Oh, thank God. All right, now -- now you know the whole story of how we fell in love. Deeply in love. And I'll bet any minute he'll walk through that door with a big bouquet of pink roses for me. Just for me. And when he gets here with his surprise, I'm going to have one waiting for him, too. That's right. I'll be his surprise. Perfect. Hmm. Come home to me, Rafe. I'll be ready and waiting.

Nurse: Oh, no, no, no, you can't go in there before I do a quick cleanup.

Rafe: Wait a minute, wait, hold on. I'm just looking for my wife. Have you seen her? She's about this tall. She's got dark brown hair, leather black skirt --

Nurse: Yeah, left just a couple minutes ago. She went that way.

Rafe: Ok, thanks.

Nurse: No problem. We're shorthanded again tonight, Lisa.

Rafe: She probably went back to the motel. Wait a minute. A penny. I need some luck about now.

Nurse: Oh, sorry.

Rafe: No, that's -- that's fine. You ok? Wait a minute, you --

Rafe: Who's in that room?

Rafe: Oh, my God. It's her.

Rafe: I know you. I know your face. Your lips. Your smile.

Alison: Rafe.

Rafe: You know me.

Alison: Rafe?

>> On the next "Port Charles" --

Livvie: Did he say where he was going?

Woman: Yeah, to look for you at the hospital.

Livvie: The hospital?

Woman: Yeah.

Livvie: Oh --

Alison: You're really here.

Singer: o/~ Torn o/~

Alison: You're really back with me?
