Lucy: I still cannot believe this. This is dated just three days ago.

Kate: Are you sure it's one of Kevin's sketches?

Lucy: Oh, yeah. No, I know his work. I'm absolutely positive. Call me insane, but could this be a sign? I mean, maybe it's some sort of sign he's still out there. Maybe it's a message I'm supposed to be getting, you know?

Kate: Oh, Lucy, I wish that were true, but they found Kevin's remains.

Jack: Well, I wouldn't be so sure about that.

Lucy: What does that mean?

Jack: Well, I bet you that those ashes they found weren't Kevin's but his brother Ryan's.

Lucy: What are you saying? Why would that be possible? What is it?

Jack: Lucy, I think that Livvie put Ryan's ashes in the grave. And I almost got her to admit that before her new boyfriend knocked me out.

Lucy: Why? Why would Livvie do that? Why?

Rafe: Want to tell me what the hell's going on?

Livvie: I know this place isn't the greatest, but we won't be here long, Rafe.

Rafe: I'm not talking about the motel.

Livvie: We'll just get a good night's sleep, and then we'll start out fresh in the morning.

Rafe: Slow down. Before we start anything, I really need you to talk to me --

Livvie: Where is it you always wanted to go? We can go anywhere. I mean, we can see anything.

Rafe: No, I don't want to see anything. I need you to talk to me.

Livvie: Just let me finish unpacking, Rafe.

Rafe: No. Give me that. Give me that. You're not going to unpack. You've been avoiding my questions. The whole ride over here, you've been avoiding them.

Livvie: No, I'm not.

Rafe: Your ex-boyfriend -- he attacked you. And then I knocked the guy out, which he pretty much deserved, but then you rush us out of there like we did something wrong. And then we're standing here in this roadside dump and you want to pretend like the last half-hour didn't even happen.

Livvie: I don't want to talk about this right now.

Rafe: Listen to me. You're going to talk about this right now. Ok? So, tell me, what's going on, Livvie? What are you really running away from?

Jack: Livvie is so convinced that Alison murdered Kevin that she'll do anything to make sure she pays for it.

Lucy: My God. And Doc and Ryan have exactly the same DNA --

Jack: Exactly.

Lucy: And if the date on this sketch is true, then -- oh, Jack, Doc could still be out there somewhere.

Kate: And Alison really has a chance of being cleared.

Jack: Whoa. What are you talking about?

Kate: Jamal didn't get in touch with you?

Jack: He left me a message. I mean, it was staticky. He said, "Come to G.H."

Lucy: Jack, listen --

Jack: What?

Lucy: Alison has had an aneurysm. She's in there.

Jack: Lucy, is she going to be ok?

Lucy: I -- I don't know. I don't know. Ian, what's going on?

Jack: What's going on? Is she going to be all right?

Ian: There's not a lot of brain activity. She may not recover from this.

Lucy: Oh, my God. My God, she lied in there to spare me. To spare all of us. What have I done?

Karen: Oh --

Ricky: Oh, hey.

Karen: Sorry. I guess I wasn't looking where I was going.

Ricky: No, it's -- it's ok. I was just here looking for Jamal.

Karen: Ricky, wait. Listen, I'm sorry I didn't make it to your concert. I was just --

Ricky: Look, look -- it's cool. I get it. Anyway, you missed a hell of a show.

Karen: Really?

Ricky: Yeah. We -- we totally gelled. And everybody said the drums were awesome. The band is really psyched.

Karen: Well, I bet you were great.

Ricky: Are you ok?

Karen: Yeah. Yeah.

Ricky: You know, I heard about Alison. Are you close to her?

Karen: Well, everyone in this town is close. No matter what anybody says about her, she's a good kid.

Ricky: Yeah, I believe it. You know, I don't really know her, but Jamal's talked about her a lot. I'm sorry.

Karen: I just don't know why this keeps happening, you know? First Eve, then Kevin, now Alison. It's just not fair, you know?

Ian: Are you all right?

Kate: It's just hard.

Ian: You've grown to care quite a bit about Alison, haven't you?

Kate: Look where it got her. I really -- I tried to help her. But in the end, I didn't listen to my client. I didn't trust her.

Ian: You didn't cause this.

Kate: Yeah, I did. I asked her to plead insanity. I asked her to go against everything that she believes in, and she couldn't. So in order to prevent any more suffering, she got up on that stand and she told a lie so horrible that her body gave out.

Ian: What happened to Alison was probably due to stress -- stress caused by the circumstances, not by you.

Kate: She said things I should've picked up.

Ian: You couldn't have known.

Kate: I should've known, and I should've been able to stop it.

Ian: You told Alison you'd fight for her, and you did. She was grateful. You heard her.

Kate: What good is that doing her there? She might never recover. You're a doctor. You tell me. Why is life so unfair?

Ian: I don't know.

Kate: She's so young, so innocent, and I failed her.

Jack: I cannot believe that. Alison pleaded guilty?

Lucy: Yes, she did. She did it to spare me and to spare Victor from suffering anymore and to keep her friends, she thought, from fighting a lost cause. And now she's in there like that.

Jack: How could things turn out to be this way? You know, they used to be -- Alison and Livvie used to be just like sisters.

Lucy: I know. I don't understand it, either. How could Livvie do something so cruel? I mean, using Ryan's ashes to frame Alison?

Jack: Yeah, I know. You wouldn't even recognize her anymore. She -- it's --

Lucy: Listen, we have to find Livvie. We have to get her to tell the truth. That may help Alison, and it could help me find Doc. He may be out there somewhere still.

Jack: Lucy, but that's not going to be that easy.

Lucy: You don't have any idea where this boyfriend and Livvie could be?

Jack: Lucy, when I came to, they were gone. They could be anywhere.

Lucy: But you found them once. Please try to find them again.

Jack: Even if I do find them -- even if we find them, I don't think Livvie's going to admit to what she's done. I mean, I just saw that for myself.

Lucy: Ok, I'll tell you what. You find them and then leave the rest to me.

Livvie: Please. Please calm down. Please. You know what I was running from.

Rafe: Yeah, I know. I was there. I can protect you from Jack.

Livvie: No, you don't know how crazy he gets.

Rafe: I just think that we should have called the cops so he could have to deal with what it is he did to you.

Livvie: No, no, no. I told you -- after everything I've been through with the police when Alison murdered my father --

Rafe: I know, I know, but this is different. I'm here for you now and I'm not going anywhere, so I still think we should call the cops. We have time. Come on.

Livvie: No! No, Rafe, no. No.

Rafe: You know what? To be honest with you, it's really starting to feel like we're not running away from anything bad that happened to you. It feels like we're on the run, and that doesn't feel good.

Livvie: How can you say that? Rafe, you know I don't want to face another trial, and we were already packed and planning on leaving. Why do you always have to look behind?

Rafe: Because this doesn't make any sense! Livvie, you say you love me. If you do, then please, please just be honest with me. Tell me what's going on. Why are you freaking out?

Livvie: Yeah, well, I -- I can ask you the same thing. I mean, you say running doesn't feel right, but what -- what are you really trying to say? That doesn't feel right -- what -- is being with me? Is that what doesn't feel right?

Rafe: You know what? You're right. Being with you right now doesn't feel right. No. Doesn't feel right at all.

Karen: I'm a doctor, and I still will never understand why people lose their lives so young.

Ricky: Hey, Alison could still make it, right? I guess all you can do is live your life because you never really know what's going to happen.

Karen: It's just that Alison's been through so much these last few months. She's never let anyone stop her from going after what she wanted, even if it meant going against what everybody expected of her.

Ricky: Really?

Karen: Yeah. That's not easy to do. I mean, you have all this history and these thoughts in your head of -- of who you are and what you want and where you're headed. You just get used to what your life's been, and that's hard to give up. It's hard just to let go and follow what feels right. But you're right. Life really is too short.

Ricky: Yeah. It is.

Frank: No. Don't.

Ian: I've seen you in action, counselor. Don't tell me you're going to give up this easily.

Kate: I helped put her in that hospital bed. What more do you want me to do for her?

Ian: I want you to clear her name.

Kate: You mean keep fighting for her?

Ian: Despite her condition, yeah.

Kate: You're right. You're right. Alison can't fight for herself anymore, but I can fight for her. I can prove that she wasn't wrong to keep believing, that I was wrong to stop believing in her. I could do this, like we did for Rebecca.

Ian: Exactly.

Kate: I'm going to exonerate her. I'm going to get her name cleared and -- maybe it'll reach her. Look, excuse me.

Jack: Lucy.

Lucy: Hey -- oh, good. Anything?

Jack: Nothing.

Lucy: Oh.

Jack: Livvie must've tossed her cell phone or something. But I talked to the credit card company, and they said that she had some food delivered to this motel.

Lucy: Oh.

Jack: That's the phone number.

Lucy: Good, good, good. This is perfect. Thank you.

Jack: Yeah. I don't know if they'll answer, but --

Lucy: Hey, you know something? It's worth a shot, isn't it?

Jack: Yeah.

Lucy: Yeah.

Ian: Hey.

Jack: Good luck.

Lucy: Hey.

Ian: What's the latest?

Lucy: Well, I am about to do something that you probably would never even do to your worst enemy. But if what Jack suspects about Livvie is true, it's the only way I'm going to prove whether Doc is still alive or not.

Livvie: I can't believe you are standing here telling me that we don't feel right together now after we've gotten married.

Rafe: Well, what do you want to do? You want to just pretend like everything's ok? Is that it? Because it's not.

Livvie: So why didn't you leave when you had the chance, Rafe? I -- I asked you to decide if you wanted this marriage to work, and you said you did, so --

Rafe: I'm sorry, ok? But something's not right. Something's missing. I keep telling you that, but you keep telling me that I should stop looking back.

Livvie: Because it's hurting you!

Rafe: It hurts more not to know! Why do I have to keep treating my past like it's something that doesn't matter to me? I'm wondering why you want me to do that.

Livvie: I don't, I don't. I have been trying to help you remember.

Rafe: By what, by running away? By getting me to focus on my new life and new memories?

Livvie: It's because you're trying too hard, Rafe. I told you --

Rafe: Yeah, yeah, I know, I know! You told me that once we get married, then it will all come back to me. And once we leave, then -- then it will all come back to me. I'll remember anything as long as I don't try too hard!

Livvie: I just want us to get on with our future.

Rafe: I know. I'm sorry. That's what I want, too. But why do we have to leave the past behind to do that? I mean, you say you and me -- we had this incredible love affair. Why wouldn't I want to remember that? And even if there were tough times, why wouldn't I want to remember that? Because it's the tough times that make the history, so -- so I can really be there for you, and that's what people who really love each other do, right?

Livvie: So now we don't really love each other? You're questioning that, too?

Rafe: No, that's not what I'm saying.

Livvie: Well, you might as well be. I can't believe you are saying this to me, Rafe! Do you have any idea -- do you have any idea what I have gone through to be with you, what I have given up to be with you?

Rafe: No, no, no, no, no, I don't, but tell me. Please, tell me -- what have you gone through? What have you given up? Please?

Livvie: I have sacrificed my family and my friends to be with you.

Rafe: I never asked you to do that. I want to be part of your life, part of your past -- everything.

Livvie: Yes, but it's too late!

Rafe: Only because you keep saying it is! You keep -- no --

Livvie: I don't have to deal with this --

Rafe: Come here, come here! No, you are going to stay here! You're going to stay in this room till you tell me everything! You're not running away anymore!

Ricky: Are you going to be ok?

Karen: Yeah. Thanks for listening.

Ricky: Hey -- anytime. But I have to go practice with the band.

Karen: Yeah, and I should get back on my rounds.

Ricky: Hey, listen -- if you ever need to talk or something, just call me.

Karen: Ok.

Frank: Karen.

Karen: Frank.

Frank: Hey. Any changes with Alison?

Karen: No.

Frank: I'm sorry. You look -- you look beat. Maybe later on you could take some time and -- and we could have dinner.

Karen: Dinner?

Frank: There are some things I want to talk to you about.

Karen: Yeah, sure. That'll be great.

Jack: Hey, Ian, would it be ok if I have a minute with Alison?

Ian: Of course. Are you sure you want to do this?

Lucy: Yeah, I do, even if it means hurting Livvie. I got to find out if Doc's alive or dead.

[Monitor beeps]

Jack: I can't believe this. I can't believe -- most of the time, I can't even get a word in edgewise, but you know what? Now you have to listen to me. I'm so proud of you, Alison. You've hung in there and you have stayed so strong, even when the odds were against you. You know what? Me, Ian, Lucy, and Jamal -- we're not going to stop fighting for you. But I know that we're not who you need. Wow. I wish I could bring him back to you, Alison. I do. Because I know you'd hear Rafe.

James: She's a real beauty, isn't she? So pure, so unselfish. And look where it got her.

Ed: It got her there because of your interference.

James: I made an offer to your angelic son that he couldn't refuse. Now, that's -- that's perfectly within your precious rules.

Ed: You manipulated him with her pain.

James: And I should feel guilty? How do you spell that word? Come on, Dad. The young lovers' demise was all their own doing. And their downward spiral was quite delightful, wasn't it? I couldn't have scripted it better myself.

Ed: They will find their way back to each other, and that is a given.

James: And you're a bigger fool than I thought. Open your eyes, Edward. Your son married the first woman he stumbled across, a woman he doesn't love, a woman who would steal her dead uncle's ashes to prove what? That the woman that your son does love was a murder. And meanwhile our heroine in this cosmic drama confesses to the murder, confesses to a murder that she didn't commit. And this same flaxen-haired maiden who was once the apple of your son's eye now winds up -- well, it looks as if she's dead, doesn't it?

Ed: She's not dead yet, you old sot.

James: Just a matter of time, old man. Just a matter of time.

Livvie: Look, I don't know what you're talking about, Rafe. I have shared everything with you.

Rafe: No -- some things, not everything. There's still something you're keeping from me.

Livvie: I don't have to be interrogated by my own husband.

Rafe: Oh, yeah, you're right. I -- I should probably not try to get answers from you because I already know I'm not going to get any. What I need to be doing is going down to Port Charles and talking to all the people that we're running away from and get some answers from them, get them to tell me the truth.

Livvie: You're the one with the secrets, Rafe, not me.

Rafe: What?

Livvie: Always wandering around on your little walks, going off to God knows where. How do I know what you're really doing, huh?

Rafe: Because I told you.

Livvie: And you keep fantasizing -- fantasizing about some woman, right? And I'm the one that's not telling the truth? You don't trust me?

Rafe: God, you are really stupid.

Livvie: Not any more stupid than what you're doing to me.

Rafe: Um -- Livvie? I lost my memory. Do you have any idea what that feels like? So guess what -- I got questions and I deserve answers. So I don't need you to stand there and just turn this around like it's all my fault!

Livvie: It is your fault, Rafe! It's all your fault!

Rafe: Livvie --

Livvie: I didn't want to fall in love with you! I had a perfectly good life before you got here, and you've turned that upside down! It's your fault! It's your fault!

[Phone rings]

Rafe: Livvie, it's ok!

Livvie: No, it's your fault, Rafe!

Livvie: Hello?

Lucy: Livvie, hi. It's -- it's Lucy. Listen, I have great, great news. Um -- it's your dad. He's -- he's back. He's alive, Livvie. He's ok.

Livvie: What? What did you just say?

Lucy: Well, he's -- he's here at the hospital, but he's fine. He's going to be just fine. He wants to tell you himself where he's been. So could you get over to the hospital right away? We'll meet you in the hospital chapel.

Livvie: Oh, my God.

Rafe: Livvie?

>> On the next "Port Charles" --

Kevin: Is that really you?

Lucy: There's only one way to find out.

Kevin: It is you. Oh, it is you!

Livvie: I -- I have to go. Ok? I have to go.

Rafe: No, here. Give me the keys. I'll drive.

Livvie: No, no, no! No, Rafe, you can't come to the hospital with me.
