Port Charles Transcript Wednesday 6/12/02
Proofread by Beth
Karen: You could say something.
Ricky: You don't want to hear it.
Karen: I know you think this is wrong.
Ricky: Wrong? Nah. Frankie gets to run his little candle test on you, see if maybe he won't use you as his punching bag. But that's not wrong. It's crazy.
Karen: Well, that's why you're here, isn't it? To make sure it doesn't happen.
Ricky: Karen --
Karen: I made my decision, Ricky. It's my choice.
[Knock on door]
Ricky: Well, let the games begin.
Karen: Ricky --
Frank: Hey. What's he doing here?
Ricky: You want to tell him, Karen, or do you want me to?
Jamal: Wow. This is a gold mine, Jack. This has all sorts of stuff on the woman Horatio ran off with. Look -- where they lived, their kids, his job. The guy had a good life. Look.
Jack: It just doesn't feel right, Jamal.
Jamal: What doesn't? This fills in all sorts of blanks about the guy Rebecca didn't kill. Ok, they kept out evidence that would've cleared her. All right, they knew she didn't do it, ok? So we clear Rebecca and maybe we get Kevin back.
Jack: No, not that.
Jamal: Then what? Oh, come on. Not Miss -- that Cujo thing. Look -- you snowed her, Jack, so we could get these files, ok? If you hadn't done that, we wouldn't have anything --
Jack: She might've been a guard dog, all right, but I sat there and heard her talk about her lousy boyfriend, and that lousy boyfriend happens to be my brother.
Jamal: So what? That's Chris' problem. Look, we did it. We got the proof right here.
Jack: Right, right, we did.
Jamal: Yeah. You going to leave me hanging?
Jack: No --
Ian: Not yet, lads.
Jack: Hey. Did you get our message?
Ian: I just talked to Kate.
Jack: What's going on?
Ian: She tried to get Judge Connelly to listen, but --
Ian: Yeah. He won't hear it. Case is closed.
Jack: Damn it. That's not fair. I mean, this proves she was innocent, just like Alison.
Jamal: Just like Alison. The same story 120 years later.
Jack: And if Rebecca and Alison's stories match up -- well, it's going to be the same ending.
Rafe: Where did you go off to?
Livvie: Nowhere, really. I just -- I need some time.
Rafe: Yeah? For what?
Livvie: To think. To think about what you said about not getting married --
Livvie: Until you speak to Alison.
Rafe: Yeah. I'm -- I'm sorry. I know how you feel about --
Livvie: She hates me, Rafe.
Rafe: I know. She was accused of your father's murder.
Livvie: Not just accused.
Rafe: I know, I know. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked about seeing her. I know --
Livvie: I didn't say that.
Livvie: You were right. If -- if you want to make sure what is in your heart is real, then, yeah, you have to talk to her.
Rafe: Thank you.
Livvie: And as hard -- as hard as it was to do, there is someone waiting outside for you.
Livvie: She's here, Rafe.
Rafe: Alison's --
[knock on door]
Livvie: Yeah. She's here.
[Captioning made possible by ABC, Inc., and SOAPnet]
Rafe: That's Alison? She's here?
Livvie: She's -- yeah -- right outside. And if you don't answer the door soon, she just might leave --
Rafe: Oh, right, right, right. I'll get the door. Are you sure this --
Livvie: Go. Go on, Rafe.
Rafe: Go on. All right. Ok. Alison?
Woman: Rafe! Sweetheart! Did you miss me? God, I missed you -- oh, it's you.
Livvie: Hello, Alison.
Woman: Who let the dogs out?
Livvie: Please, Ali, don't -- don't start. I asked you to come here in good faith for Rafe's sake. It's the least you could do.
Woman: You see that, Rafe -- how she just twists things around as soon as she opens her mouth? Don't tell me she's staying. I thought we were going to talk alone.
Rafe: Actually, Alison, it's ok. I have nothing to hide from Livvie.
Woman: God, I knew it. She brainwashed you, didn't she?
Woman: First she convinced you to leave me for her, ok, and then she goes off and has me arrested for her father's stupid murder?
Livvie: That's because you did it. You killed him, Alison.
Woman: Yeah? Well, you'll never prove it. Not in a million years.
Livvie: I'll prove it if it's the last thing I do --
Rafe: All right, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Calm down for a second. You know, you two actually used to be friends, so can we just talk here? Alison, sit down for a second. I just want to ask you a few questions.
Woman: You got questions? Fine. Ask away.
Rafe: Ok. Livvie told you about my accident, right?
Woman: Yes, of course.
Woman: You lost your memory.
Rafe: Yeah, well, the last 10 years anyway. So my question is -- huh -- how close were we, really?
Woman: Very close. Now that you see me, don't you remember?
Rafe: To tell you the truth, no.
Woman: Damn you.
Livvie: It's not my fault he doesn't remember you.
Woman: Oh, right. Nothing's your fault. She's got you thinking that you love her, but I'm the one that you want, Rafe. I'm the one that you really love. Only me. And you must know that, right? Deep, deep down inside --
Rafe: Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey.
Woman: What's the matter? Don't you remember how it was? You couldn't forget how hot we were together. Especially when --
Rafe: What -- what? What?
Woman: Yep. All night long.
Rafe: No, I don't think so.
Livvie: See. Rafe, I've told you --
Rafe: That's not Alison. No. There's no way.
Alison: Seems like I used to walk alone, like, a million times before I met you, Rafe. And I used to never have any problems coming up with things to think about. But lately, seems that all I can think about is you. You and all the -- all the fun stuff we used to do together.
Ian's Voice: I didn't know Rafe, really, but I don't think he'd want you to throw your life away. I think he'd probably want you to fight with everything that's in you to get your freedom back. Letting go doesn't mean forgetting, Alison. Just means you allow yourself to live your life for you, the people who depend on you.
Alison: I am trying so hard -- so hard to try and move on. I just really didn't know that it would -- that it would be this hard. If only things were different. If only things -- if only things were different. If I had just met you before you had died, it would be so much --
Lucy: What did you say?
Alison: Lucy, I -- I didn't see you there.
Lucy: What did -- what did you just say? You said my -- my cousin died?
Frank: Tell me what, Karen? What am I supposed to know?
Karen: Frank, please --
Ricky: No, no, no. Let me.
Frank: Fine, you tell me. What am I missing here?
Ricky: Well, you see, Frank --
Karen: I asked Ricky to come. The last time we thought you had a breakthrough, you ripped my clothes off on the 6:00 news. He's here for me.
Ricky: You got a problem with that, bro?
Frank: No. I guess it makes sense. If something happens, I want to be stopped. You have to stop me.
Ricky: Oh, I will, buddy. I will.
Karen: Well, let's get on with this, then. Right from the lab -- one and only. You ready, Frank?
Frank: Let's do it.
Karen: Here we go.
Frank: How long will we wait?
Ricky: I guess we'll find out, won't we?
Karen: How are you feeling?
Frank: So far so good. You?
Karen: Fine, I guess.
Ricky: So -- we just sit here till --
Karen: Ricky, please. Let's just take some deep breaths, ok? Come on.
Frank: Nothing yet.
Karen: Ricky, how about you?
Ricky: A little warm, maybe.
Karen: Frank, anything? What do you see?
Frank: All I see is a beautiful, sexy woman, the woman I love with all my heart. The woman I want to spend my life with. That's all I see.
Karen: Ok, well, that's enough.
Ian: According to this, everything points to the fact that Horatio Lodge never died in Port Charles.
Jamal: And you're sure the judge won't see the case, no matter what?
Ian: According to Kate, no, he won't.
Jack: Well, can you blame the guy? The case was solved over 120 years ago --
Ian: Hang on a second. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Now, he said he won't hear the case, but maybe -- maybe he'll hear something else.
Jack: What do you mean?
Ian: Just had an idea. If it works out, it'll get us what we want.
Alison: I'm so sorry. I never meant for you to hear any of that --
Lucy: Wait! Rafe died?
Alison: No -- he promised -- he made me promise never to tell you -- not ever. I'm sorry --
Lucy: Wait -- how can --
Alison: I can't.
Lucy: Wait. Alison, how could he make you promise not to tell me that he's dead?
Alison: No, he's not, though. He -- not really in that sense.
Lucy: Ok, so he's -- he's alive?
Alison: No, he's not.
Lucy: Wait, so what -- is he alive or is he dead? Just tell me!
Alison: Lucy, Rafe is an angel.
Alison: Yeah. He has been ever since any of us have ever known him.
Lucy: My God. Goodness. An angel. You mean -- no -- no, no, he told me he was a vampire -- I mean, we were slayers and -- wait -- he came down -- why? Why would -- if he's such an angel, why did he come down --
Alison: For you. He came for you.
Lucy: For me?
Alison: Yeah, to protect you. You know, all this stuff that happened last year -- he came back so that he could protect you.
Lucy: He was my guardian angel. Oh, Rafe. Oh, that explains -- well, I mean, we could talk, you know -- I mean, I thought that was -- and then -- but I didn't know everything. And I don't understand why I didn't feel that, because he had all these secrets and I couldn't -- wait, wait -- there's -- we have a lot to talk about here. But does that explain why you weren't that upset, you sort of understood when he had to leave?
Alison: I'm so glad that you finally know. You know, you -- God, you know the truth now. I mean, Lucy, you do believe me, right? I mean, you believe what I'm saying. There were others here, too.
Lucy: Yeah, no, I -- I know that. You know, yeah. I actually think I do believe all of this now.
Alison: Lucy, I really miss him so much.
Lucy: Oh, Alison, I bet you do. Wait a minute, though. If he came down once to help me, couldn't he come again? I mean, he's not gone for good, right? We could see him again?
Alison: I don't know. I don't know. But I just -- I really feel like he's trying to connect to me somehow, you know? And Ian -- he seems to think that I should --
Lucy: You -- you told Ian all this? You didn't tell him --
Alison: No, no, no, no. No, no, no. I didn't tell Ian about the angel part. He doesn't know anything about that. But he and Kate -- they seem to think that I just -- I need to move forward, you know, and really focus on this case, at least for, like, right now. But I'm just -- I'm really having such a hard time because I just miss him so much. And I just -- Lucy, I really feel like he's trying to reach me somehow, you know? Like he's out there. But I don't know. Maybe that's -- maybe that's just me wishing so hard that that's true and maybe it's not. I don't know.
Lucy: Hey -- you know what? I think it is true. Because it's kind of like Doc. I know in my heart Doc's not dead, so he can't possibly be an angel. But he is out there somewhere and he's trying to reach me. And sometimes I just feel absolutely frustrated, I'm going to give up hope. And then I realize that's all we have --
Alison: I know.
Alison: I know, hope. And that's the only thing that's keeping me going. See, I know that Rafe isn't here physically. I know that. I'm very well aware of that. But I still feel like he's with me -- you know, his spirit. Lucy, if I give up faith and hope in that, I don't care what happens to me.
Livvie: What are you saying, Rafe? Of course this is Alison.
Woman: Here, sweetheart, feel. It's me.
Rafe: You know what? You can go now.
Woman: She turned you against me, Rafe. That's what feels wrong. Don't you see?
Livvie: Look at her, Rafe. This is Alison. She shows the world her phony, sweet side all the time, but this is her. This is the real Alison.
Woman: Listen, you little bitch --
Rafe: Hey, hey!
Woman: You filled his head with all these lies --
Livvie: Come on, come on!
Woman: That's the only thing --
Livvie: You promised me. Stop it.
Rafe: You can get out of here now. Come on --
Woman: You know what? I will beat this. You tried to ruin my life, Livvie, but that's not going to happen.
Livvie: You're not going to win.
Woman: Oh, really?
Livvie: I promise you're not going to win.
Woman: Sounds like you missed the paper today, honey.
Woman: That's right.
Livvie: The paper? What?
Woman: Page one, above the fold -- "This town will never lock up a Barrington. Not without a body."
Woman: I'm getting off. So you're just going to have to deal with it.
Rafe: No, it's ok. She's lying, she's lying.
Woman: Oh, no, she's not. And when this is all over, I'm coming back to your little love nest to blow it up.
Livvie: You lousy --
Woman: Because I'm a Barrington, baby.
Rafe: Hey, come here. Get out of here now!
Woman: No, wait, Rafe --
Woman: She deserved it!
Rafe: Out of here!
Woman: Don't let her do this!
Rafe: Now! Out!
Woman: Gee, I hope I didn't overdo it. She said to be convincing. You're welcome, Livvie. All in a day's work.
Rafe: Sorry. That was a bad idea.
Livvie: She's getting off. If that's what the paper said --
Rafe: No, no, no. No, no. Listen -- that's not going to happen, ok? She's going to get what she deserves for doing what she did to your father.
Livvie: Yeah, well, I hope so, Rafe. God, I really hope so.
Frank: Wait, Karen, why did you do that? Why did you blow out --
Karen: Nothing happened, Frank. We tried, and now we know. It's over, ok?
Frank: Karen, please, just listen to me --
Ricky: Hey, hey, hey, hey --
Karen: It's ok, Ricky.
Frank: It worked. I'm ok. I didn't have an attack. I saw you just the way you are.
Karen: And I'm glad, Frank. I'm really happy for you.
Frank: Listen, I'm not going to push, and I know this may not be the right time, but do you think that at least maybe --
Karen: Not -- not now, Frank, please.
Frank: I understand. I'll let myself out. But you'll think about it?
Karen: I promise.
Ricky: Later. Ok. So, we talk about this?
Ricky: What do you mean, "what?" "Bingo, I'm cured, so let's get back together," he says?
Karen: That's not what he said.
Ricky: Well, that's what he meant. And you said, "I'll think about it."
Karen: That's right.
Ricky: Why, Karen? Because you owe him?
Karen: Look, Ricky --
Ricky: How come five minutes ago when that candle was lit and Frank was saying all those nice, romantic things to you, you were looking at me.
Karen: I was not.
Ricky: Yeah, you were.
Karen: Wait. Where are you going?
Ricky: You know what, Karen? While you're thinking about what to do with Frank, think about that, too, and think about where you're going. And think about what you're giving up on.
Jamal: This is pretty whack.
Jack: The whole situation is pretty whack.
Jamal: Yeah, it is.
Jack: Who are you calling, man?
Ian: I'm calling the one person who might be whack enough to put this all together. Excuse me. Lucy. Hey, it's Ian. Listen, the boys found some more stuff that would help us get Rebecca cleared, and -- I know what the judge said. Hear me out. I have an idea.
Lucy: What kind of an idea? Uh-huh. Uh-oh. No. I think that's great. Oh, Ian, that's a brilliant idea. Yeah, yeah. Ok, ta. Wow!
Alison: What? What? What is it?
Lucy: Oh, Alison, listen to me. Ian just had this amazing idea. You remember how we were just talking about not losing hope? Well, if what Ian has planned works, then you and me, we may both end up getting what we want.
Livvie: I was just trying to protect you, Rafe. I wanted you to see what Alison was really like.
Rafe: Huh. I just can't believe I'd fall in love with that -- that --
Livvie: Yeah, that's what you said about her the first night we met.
Rafe: So let's do it.
Rafe: Do what we planned -- get married.
Livvie: Let's? Married? Oh, my God, Rafe.
Rafe: What? You still want to, right?
Livvie: Yes. God, yes, of course I do. It's just --
Rafe: What? What --
Livvie: It's all at once and so much, I just --
Rafe: Are you ok?
Livvie: Yeah. God, yes, I'm fine. I'm fine. You just -- you stay here, right here. I've got to do something.
Rafe: Livvie, what are you --
Livvie: I love you!
Rafe: Ok --
Livvie: Oh, my God. It's happening, Mama. It's finally happening with Rafe. What am I going to do about Alison? I can't let her get away with killing my father. Ok. Ok, ok, I know what I have to do.
Rafe: This is my home with Livvie. It's where I belong. It's the way it was. It's the way it was always meant to -- oh -- who is that?
>> On the next "Port Charles" --
Man: That's enough. I swear, by God, I am holding you and you -- all of you in contempt.
Rafe: It's like you're running away from something. So it's time for you to stop and tell me why.
