Amy: Ian, what is it?

Ian: I thought maybe we should finish the talk we started earlier.

Amy: The one about our mutual, albeit harmless, attraction? Or the one about my oh-so-mysterious past?

Ian: Maybe a little of both.

Amy: I thought we said everything that needs to be said on the first topic.

Ian: Yeah, well, our relationship's gotten a little complicated. As far as harmless, I don't --

Amy: Ian, what are you trying to say?

Ian: Well, there's a couple of things that I haven't been completely honest about.

Amy: Oh?

Ian: So I thought maybe we could sit down, just the two of us, and talk.

Amy: All right, let's talk.

Ian: Not here.

Amy: Where do you want to go?

Ian: We'll go someplace where people aren't going to interrupt us. What do you say?

Amy: This does indeed sound very serious.

Ian: Will you go with me?

Amy: Lead the way.

Man's Voice: There aren't any fingerprints on this cup.

Ian's Voice: What are you talking about? I saw a woman holding it.

Man's Voice: Look, I don't know what you saw, Doc, but no human hand has touched this.

Amy: May I ask where we're going?

Ian: You'll know when we get there.

Paige: I knew it, Kevin. I knew it from the first moment I saw you again. It was still there -- everything I ever felt.

Kevin: Paige --

Paige: I prayed that you felt the same way, but I didn't dare hope, but you do, don't you? You do, and you can't deny it any more than I can.

Kevin: No, no -- Paige, Paige, stop, no. We can't do this.

Paige: Of course we can. We love each other.

Kevin: No, we don't. I don't.

Rafe: You want to run that by me again? You said you want to have a baby?

Alison: Your baby. Yours and mine. Rafe, listen to me -- I know that this sounds crazy, ok, and I know that this doesn't even come close to being practical, but, Rafe, let's face it, I mean, you and I together are anything but practical, and yet here we are. Somehow it was our destiny for us to find each other and to fall in love. And I just don't think that God would want to go through all of this work for us just to break us apart so soon and be left with nothing but a bunch of memories.

Rafe: Angel --

Alison: No, listen to me -- I can see it so clearly. Ok, somehow, someway, our having a child is what's meant to be. Please tell me that you see that, too.

[knock on door]

[Ricky turns off music]

Casey: Ricky. What are you doing?

Ricky: I knocked. You didn't hear me.

Casey: Oh, my God. It's your sister, isn't it?

Ricky: What?

Casey: She's the fifth chair.

Ricky: What?

Casey: Gabby died, didn't she?

Ricky: What are you talking about?

Casey: You -- you mean she's ok? She's still alive?

Ricky: Yeah, of course she's still alive. Why do you sound so surprised? And what is this about a fifth chair?

Casey: Oh, well -- no, no, no. See, first of all, I'm not surprised, ok? I just -- you -- you scared me, you know, coming in here all unannounced. I thought -- anyway, fifth chair -- it's just this expression back where I'm from. It's kind of like, you know, "bought the farm," "bit it" --

Ricky: Ok, ok, I get it.

Casey: Yeah. So, what are you doing here if it's not about your sister?

Ricky: I came to talk to you about why you ran off the other day.

Casey: Ran off?

Ricky: Yes. You know, when we were in the alley?

Casey: Oh, that.

Ricky: Yes, that. You know, as I recall, you pretty much jumped me, then you got both of us nice and worked up, and -- poof -- you were gone.

Casey: Well, maybe I just didn't want to do it in an alley.

Ricky: Right. Except that I know better than that, Casey.

Casey: What do you mean, you know better?

Ricky: I just know, that's all.

Casey: Know what?

Ricky: Do I really have to say it? Again?

Casey: Please, don't even start up with all that.

Ricky: Casey, it's ok to be a virgin, all right? It's ok to --

[music plays]

Kevin: Paige, I am sorry if I gave you the impression --

Paige: That you still love me.

Kevin: I do care about you. I do care. And all those memories I have of us together are wonderful. They're incredible. But that's all they are are memories of what once was when we were kids. Paige, what's real now is my marriage to Lucy.

Paige: No. No, you must still love me, or you wouldn't have said all those things you did just now about our past and what we shared together.

Kevin: No, Paige --

Paige: No, no, it was more than that. It was more than just reliving old times. You remembered every detail, every moment, just as I did, as though longing with your whole heart and soul to return to those days, as though conjuring them up in your mind could somehow make them real again.

Kevin: Paige, you're reading things into this. I am a married man.

Paige: Yes, and you care about Lucy. I realize that. But you can't let me go. Ever since I got here, every time I've tried to leave, you've stopped me. You've done everything in your power to make me stay.

Kevin: I'm sorry if you misinterpreted that, Paige.

Paige: Misinterpreted? How could I misinterpret the man I know so well? I can see it in your eyes, Kevin. I can hear it in your voice. It's still there. Maybe you're not ready to admit it to yourself or to me. I understand that. You're confused.

Kevin: No, Paige --

Paige: You're confused because you can't forget these feelings. I can't forget them, either. I still have these same feelings -- feelings that will never go away no matter how many years go by because you know me, my love -- my heart, my mind, everything about me, inside and out.

Kevin: No, Paige, that's where you're wrong. There's a lot I don't know.

Paige: I have nothing to hide. Not anymore. Admit that you love me as much as I love you, and I'll tell you everything, everything you want to know.

Lucy: Doc?

[Music plays]

[Ricky turns off music]

Ricky: You want to tell me what your problem is?

Casey: You. All right, you are my problem -- you and this virgin B.S. I am so sure.

Ricky: Casey, it's not like it's a disease or something.

Casey: Dude, I am so not a virgin, ok? I am -- I have been around a lot, ok? Let's just -- let's just put it that way. And the last thing that I would ever be in this world is some uptight, lily-white prude.

Ricky: You want to know what I think?

Casey: No.

Ricky: I think it's awesome.

Casey: What?

Ricky: I mean, it's like, how cool is that.

Casey: You're so full of it.

Ricky: Listen, when I told you that I had never met anybody like you, I didn't know how true it really was.

Casey: Yeah, well, you still don't.

Ricky: See, why you got to do that?

Casey: Do what?

Ricky: The whole tough chick act, like you're so hard and so bad, when really somewhere deep inside here, you're this scared little girl looking for -- for what, Casey?

Casey: You wouldn't believe me if I told you.

Ricky: Well, anyway, I -- I didn't come here to try and sweet-talk you into picking up where we left off.

Casey: Oh. You didn't?

Ricky: Nah, I -- I came here because I like you, Casey. And I think it sucks when you're pissed at me.

Casey: I didn't know you cared.

Ricky: Yeah, so, what do you say? Friends again?

Casey: I say --

Rafe: I know why you want to do this. I know why you want to have my baby.

Alison: Because I love you.

Rafe: And because you think that would be a way to keep a part of me with you.

Alison: Is that so wrong?

Rafe: No.

Alison: Is it?

Rafe: No, no, it's not. In fact, it blows me away that you love me that much.

Alison: I do, I do. I really do.

Rafe: What you don't understand, what you can't understand right now is just because I have to go back, that doesn't mean you're going to lose me. It doesn't mean that I'm not still going to be with you forever. I mean, maybe not in the physical sense, but in your heart and everywhere and everywhere you go. All you're going to have to do is close your eyes and just know it and believe it and --

Alison: I know.

Rafe: And I'll be there.

Alison: And I will. I will do that, but it won't be the same.

Rafe: Maybe. Not at first.

Alison: No. Not ever.

Rafe: Alison, having a baby, bringing a new life into this world -- that's a big thing. And I just don't want you to have to take that on by yourself. It's not fair to you. It's not fair to the kid.

Alison: I know, but I would be a really good mother.

Rafe: No, you would be the best mother. I don't have a doubt in my mind about that, but what are you going to tell this kid about his father? Or her. Her father. That -- that the father was just some kind of wayward angel that fell from the sky and just split one day? It's going to be kind of hard to explain.

Alison: I would tell him that his father was the most amazing, gentle, the kindest man I've ever known and that he was here for way too short of a time and he was now up in heaven.

Rafe: It's not going to be that easy.

Alison: Trust me, I know that. But I also know that the man that I love is going to be leaving soon.

Rafe: You're thinking with your heart and not about how difficult this is going to be.

Alison: I know, I know, but that's what you taught me to do. And it's telling me that this is the right thing to do, and so is my head. I believe so strongly that I am made to keep this connection with you and that raising our child would never be a burden but the most amazing blessing and the most wonderful miracle since meeting his father.

Rafe: No, you -- you are the miracle.

Alison: Rafe, ok, listen to me -- you also once told me that I made all of your dreams come true, but that -- that's not so.

Rafe: Yes, it is. How can you say that?

Alison: No, it's not because -- listen, you told me that you also wanted a family and a home and you wanted those things with me. Rafe, it's not too late. I can still give you those things through our child, ok? It's not too late, and soon that dream -- it will be lost to both of us. Ok, please, just think about it, ok? You've always said that you being here, there's a reason for that and for us finding each other and falling in love. What if this is it? What if we are meant to do this?

Kevin: Lucy, you're back.

Lucy: Yeah, we came back a little early. Sweet pea here isn't feeling quite up to par.

Kevin: Oh, no.

Lucy: I don't think it's anything bad. I think she's just maybe coming down with a cold or something. There you go.

Paige: Hi.

Christina: Paige, will you read me a story?

Paige: Oh, of course I will, darling. She's got a fever.

Lucy: Yes, she does. That's why I wanted to bring her in and get her to just lay down for a little bit, but she wanted you to read her a story first.

Paige: Oh, the sweet little thing.

Lucy: But what did Mommy say, huh, sweet pea? One story. Just one. That's our deal, right?

Christina: Ok.

Lucy: Ok.

Paige: You two take your time. I promise I will take very good care of our little patient.

Lucy: I'm sure you will.

Lucy: Ok, Doc, I think it's time for you to start talking.

Kevin: Lucy, what you walked in on just now --

Lucy: Was exactly what?

Kevin: Nothing. Nothing at all.

Lucy: Well, you know, in my opinion, when a woman tells a man that she loves him, that is something. And when that man happens to be my husband and that woman is his first love -- I'm upset now. I think I'm really upset.

Amy: Ian, where in the world are you taking me?

Ian: I told you -- a quiet place where we can have dinner and talk.

Amy: And we had to go all the way into Manhattan to do that?

Ian: It's a very special place.

Amy: Special? It feels like we're in some alley or something.

Ian: It is an alley. What's wrong?

Amy: I'm not sure. It's just all of a sudden, there's something very familiar about this place.

Ian: Familiar how?

Amy: The sounds. The smells. Where are we? Where are we?

Ian: I told you -- Manhattan.

Amy: Where are we, exactly? Where have you taken me, Ian?

Ian: You tell me.

Amy: Why did you bring me here? What the hell are you doing?

Amy: Answer me, Ian. What are you trying to prove in bringing me here? What is this about?

Ian: You match a Jane Doe that died in this alley.

Amy: What? That's impossible.

Ian: Yeah, I know. And then I tried to take your fingerprints. It turns out you don't have any fingerprints. So the reason I brought you here is to find out who or what you really are.

Amy: I thought you cared about me. I thought that you were my friend!

Ian: I am your friend.

Amy: You're not. You tricked me into coming here. You lied to me. God, I can't believe I trusted you!

Ian: I can't believe I looked at a picture of you lying dead in this alley --

Amy: Fine.

Ian: And now you're standing here in one piece, yelling at me because I want to get some answers.

Amy: Fine! You want answers? You want to know what I really am? Then you better get ready for a real shock because I'm going to tell you. What I am is an --

Ian: What the hell was that? Amy?

Ricky: Are you sure about this? Are you sure? Are you ready?

Casey: I am now.

Casey: Make love to me, Ricky.

Kevin: Paige got the wrong idea from some things that I happened to say to her.

Lucy: What? What exactly would you say that would make her blurt out "I love you?"

Kevin: We were talking about our time together in Europe when we were kids.

Lucy: Oh. So you took a little stroll down memory lane. Was there a reason for that?

Kevin: Yes. I was trying to find out something. It was a way to get information.

Lucy: Well, that's a -- that's a switch. Why all of a sudden now?

Kevin: I'm not sure, but I think Paige has some secrets.

Lucy: I tried to tell you that before.

Kevin: I know, I know, but I think you're more right than even you realize.

Lucy: Well, what do you suspect? I mean, do you have any proof of something?

Kevin: All I can say is I think she's hiding something, something significant.

Paige: And in the magic kingdom lived a little princess named Christina, who was the most beautiful little girl in the whole wide world. And do you know who loved her better than anybody else?

Christina: Who?

Paige: I'll tell you, my darling. It was the lady who was meant to be your --

Christina: Paige, where did you go?

Alison: I can see it already -- a little boy that looks just like you.

Rafe: You know what I see? I see a little girl who looks just like you, only a little smaller.

Alison: Yeah, I would hope so. But either way, he or she, or girl or boy, Rafe, it would be a part of the both of us.

Rafe: Alison, it's a big step.

Alison: I know.

Rafe: We got to think about this. We don't want to do anything too hasty.

Alison: Stop. I don't want to think. Ok? I love you. I love you, and I want to have a baby with you.

Rafe: Just -- I think we should talk about this.

Alison: I don't want to talk. I don't want to talk. I don't want to think, ok? All I want to do is what you and I both know is what is meant to be.

Alison: Rafe? Oh, my God. Oh, my God. What did I do?

>> On the next "Port Charles" --

Alison: You're the only one who knows what he is. Did you tell someone?

Kevin: Paige disappeared, too.

Ian: She left the house?

Kevin: I think the word for it is "vanished."

Ed: You four delinquents are making me look very bad, and I don't have any choice but to put an end to it.
