Ian: I hate it when we argue.

Eve: Me, too.

Ian: So I stole these from the neighbor to show you that I am a good guy after all.

Eve: Thanks. You didn't have to do that.

Ian: Is everything all right?

Eve: I thought it was until I found this. Why did you tear up this picture? And why does she say that you kidnapped her?

Lucy: Oh, Rafe. I'm so glad it's you. Thank god.

Rafe: Why, Lucy? What were you doing?

Lucy: Uh -- nothing. I was just, you know --

Rafe: You were just doing exactly what I warned you not to -- summoning a force you not only don't understand but you don't have the powers to deal with.

Lucy: Yeah! Ok, yeah, that's what I was doing. Because you know what? Someone has to do something because people I love and care about, they're going through hell right now. So you could do something, especially you. You could --

Rafe: I told you you're playing with fire!

Lucy: Well, I am not afraid.

Rafe: Well, that's just the problem. You should be afraid. I warned you to be afraid!

Lucy: Of what? You don't tell me exactly. What, what, I'm going to have little spots all over me from some hex? Or it's going to try and kill me? Is that it?

Rafe: No, Lucy, it won't try and kill you. It'll succeed.

Jack: Hey.

Alison: Hey.

Jack: What are you doing here?

Alison: Well, I was looking for Livvie, and you said you were going to call me but you never did, so I was checking on her.

Jack: I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I totally should've called you.

Alison: Is she ok?

Jack: Yeah, yeah, we -- she decided to go on a walk instead of going to see her mom.

Alison: Oh. Ok, good, so -- so, then, she's all right?

Jack: Yeah. But we had a long talk, and I think from now on everything is going to be fine.

Alison: Oh, good. Ok. Because I really need to talk to her --

Jack: Ali, wait.

Alison: What?

Jack: Why don't we just do it some other time? I mean, she's really tired and she's going to go to bed, and --

Alison: Oh, ok.

Jack: Yeah.

Alison: Yeah. Right.

Jack: What's up with you? Are you ok?

Alison: No, I'm fine. I -- I sort of miss my friend. And I kind of wanted to talk to her about some stuff that was going on with Jamal, but, you know --

Jack: With Jamal?

Alison: Yeah. I mean, it's not really that big of a deal. I just sort of wanted to run it past her --

Jamal: Hey.

Jack: Speaking of the devil.

Jamal: What's up, baby?

Jack: Your new hairdo.

Jamal: Ah, you like that, huh?

Jack: I like it. Looks good.

Jamal: Ali, what's up?

Alison: Hey.

Jamal: So, I got your message that you were worried about Livvie, and I just wanted to come by and see if there's anything I could do for you.

Jack: Yeah, yeah. I -- she's fine. I mean, she's going to be. But I'm glad I have you both here. There's something I'd kind of like to tell you guys. Some news.

Jamal: What's up? What's the news?

Alison: Yeah. What is it?

Jack: Well, Livvie and I have been doing some talking, all right, and I came to the conclusion that we kind of come from the same sort of background -- you know, not having a family, at least no one there we could really count on. But, anyway, besides that -- I think that's what made her vulnerable to Caleb. You know, he offered her this wonderful family. Even though it was warped, it was something she never had and she always wanted.

Jamal: That's the news?

Alison: Yeah, is that it?

Jack: No, no, no, that's not it.

Alison: Well, then, what is it?

Jack: I want to be that person Livvie trusts. I want to be that person she turns to, except for real. I want her to know that I love her more than anything and that I'll always be there for her.

Jamal: Bro, come on, I'm sure she already knows that --

jack: No, I want to make sure she knows that.

Alison: Wait -- what do you mean, you want to make sure?

Jack: I'm going to ask her to marry me.

[Water runs]

[Caleb's music plays]

Livvie: Stop it. I don't want to hear your stupid music!

Livvie: Caleb? Are you here? If you are, then stop hiding from me. Show yourself.

Caleb: Thank you for inviting me in.

Ian: Anne-Marie was a lovely woman and a dedicated nurse.

Eve: Go on.

Ian: And when we worked in Africa, we worked day and night. She'd never take a break. So I kidnapped her to take her on a picnic.

Eve: And then what?

Ian: And then we started spending time together.

Eve: You spent some time together?

Ian: Yeah, but it -- it was more than that. She was a very important woman to me. It was before I met you. And I held on to the picture because I didn't think it was right to throw it out. But then the other night when I was reminded of that time, I thought maybe you were right -- you know, to move on, let the past be the past. So I did it once and for all because -- because I have a wonderful life to look forward to with you and Daniel. And I tore up the picture to keep from looking back.

Eve: Yeah, that makes sense.

Ian: You look as though you're trying to convince yourself.

Eve: It's just all this talk about your past has made me realize how little I really know about you and how it may even be possible for someone you thought you knew as well as yourself to be a complete stranger.

Jack: Guys, it's not that I don't think Livvie loves me or that she doesn't trust me. All right, we've just been a little on the edge lately, and we felt like something might separate us. And we need something to hold on to, something to hold us together. And for me and Livvie, that's a family. And there's no one else in this world that I can imagine starting a family with than her. You both think I'm crazy, don't you?

Alison: No, Jack, I think that that is the most beautiful thing I have ever heard in my whole life.

Jamal: Look, Jack, I know you love Livvie and all, but I think it's straight-up whack.

Alison: Jamal.

Jamal: Ali, no, no. I think that you're trying to drive Livvie's wedding to Caleb out of her head -- and yours, too, my man.

Alison: Jamal, you are being so rude.

Jack: Alison, it's ok, all right?

Alison: No, it's not ok. Look, Jack wants to marry Livvie because he loves her.

Jamal: I know that. I do. But he's rushing into it because of this whole Caleb thing.

Jack: Jamal's right, ok? Making Livvie forget about Caleb is part of it. But even if there were no Caleb, I'd still feel the same. I still want to marry her and give her everything.

Jamal: Look, I just wish you'd give it more time.

Jack: No, I can't. I can't give it any more time because I'm afraid of what will happen if I do.

Livvie: How? How can -- how can you be here? This is my house. You're not supposed to be able to --

Caleb: I'm able to because you made me strong enough.

Livvie: But I haven't done anything.

Caleb: Just being with you is enough for now, until I'm whole again. And the sooner, the better. Because I got to tell you, this -- this being a shadow of my former self really bites. But I guess I can't complain too much, with my plan going so well.

Livvie: What plan, Caleb?

Caleb: Well, look around you. The chaos has begun. The mistrust, the suspicion, the doubt -- it's taken on a life of its own.

Livvie: I don't know what you're talking about.

Caleb: I'm talking about those arrogant fools and them thinking that what they have will last forever, that their so-called love is indestructible. But it's not.

Livvie: You keep talking about making everybody fall out of love. How can you do that?

Caleb: Let's just say this -- I'm getting some help from a friend.

Livvie: Who? Who's doing this? Who's helping you?

Caleb: No one you know. It's disintegrating right before their eyes, Olivia. I'm taking from them what they tried to take from me.

Livvie: No. I can't let you hurt the people I care about like this again.

Caleb: It's too late. There's no stopping it now even if I wanted to, which I don't. My energy is feeding off their ruin, getting stronger.

Livvie: It is going to stop. I'll make myself remember, and then I'm going to tell them. I'm going to tell them that they still love each other and all these bad feelings and thoughts -- that they're not real!

Caleb: But they will be real very soon, my love, for all of them. Especially Jack.

Jamal: So I guess there's no talking you out of this marriage thing, then?

Jack: No.

Jamal: All right. Well, I'm behind you, then. Whatever you want to do, I'm there. Me and Ali.

Alison: Yes, definitely.

Jack: I really appreciate it. Thanks, guys.

Jamal: No doubt. So, when are you going to pop the big question?

Jack: Well, I can't see any reason to wait. But the big question is how -- how am I going to do it? I mean, you got to have the right way, and I want a place where there are no memories of Caleb.

Alison: On the water.

Jack: That is where we first met.

Alison: Oh, I know of the perfect place.

Jack: Where? Where?

Alison: Ok, just listen. Ok, it's you two --

Jamal: Here we go.

Alison: Alone under the stars together on the Barrington yacht.

Jamal: You have a yacht?

Alison: Well, no, you know, I don't. But Nana does, and it's so beautiful. And I could make all the arrangements. I could totally set it up. And she's always complaining about, you know, nobody ever uses it and stuff, and I could totally set that up for you guys! Um -- if that's, you know, what you'd like to do. I don't want to, like, push the idea.

Jack: Oh, are you kidding me, Alison? It's perfect. Livvie is going to love that.

Livvie: If you think I am ever going to stop loving Jack --

Caleb: Trust me. You can't see it yet. None of you can. But you will soon. You'll all end up hurting each other.

Livvie: No. I would never hurt Jack. Not again.

Caleb: You'd be doing him a favor.

Livvie: A favor?

Caleb: Sometimes you got to be cruel to be kind.

Livvie: Would you quit talking in riddles?

Caleb: If you quit pretending. You must know that every time Jack looks at you, he sees my hands all over you -- touching you, caressing you. Then he thinks about you touching me.

Livvie: Stop it.

Caleb: You don't really believe he'll ever get over our being lovers, do you? Didn't think so. Any more than you could ever forget how it felt. Plus, as I get stronger, so does our love. So you're only going to end up hurting Jack more in the end anyway. Neither one of us wants that. He's a good kid. Better to just make a clean break, cut him loose, leave him with what little shred of dignity he has left.

[Caleb's music plays]

Livvie: Stop it. Caleb, please, just go. Leave me alone.

Caleb: I hear the words come out of your mouth, Olivia, but your eyes and your heart are saying something else. They're saying, "no matter how hard we try, we can't stop thinking about you." You know I'm your husband and that you came to me willingly.

Livvie: No.

Caleb: Yes. You did. And what we shared together you can't fight or forget. Now I need something from you.

Livvie: What? Tell me -- what do you want?

Caleb: I need you, Olivia, to give me life.

Lucy: I'm -- I'm really sorry, here, ok? But I can't let you stop me from doing what I know is right in my heart by letting you just scare me.

Rafe: Oh, believe me, I'm not just trying to scare you.

Lucy: Then what are you doing? You know something, so why don't you spill it. Otherwise I'm taking matters into my own hands with or without you.

Rafe: No, no, I really wouldn't do that.

Lucy: Do what? I am doing it. I am going to face this dark whatever you are and face it down, and I'm going to send it packing back to hell where it belongs, Rafe. I'm going to do it.

Rafe: Ok, Lucy, fine. You want to know what I know? Just look at me.

Lucy: Look?

Rafe: You forgetting we're both slayers? You can see inside my mind.

Lucy: Yeah, but --

Rafe: Just look at me, Lucy. Look in my eyes. See what I see.

Lucy: Oh, my god. My god, you saw my future. You saw me die.

Ian: You think of me as a stranger? After everything we've been through, after everything we've been to each other? Is there anything I can do or say to reassure you? You got to know that there's one thing that is constant, and that is my love for you. Don't ever doubt that.

Eve: I don't doubt that. I'm so sorry.

Ian: It's all right.

Eve: Oh, god, I don't doubt you at all. Please forgive me.

Jack: Thanks again, Alison.

Alison: Yes, yes. Ok, so I'll call you tomorrow with all the details on the yacht.

Jack: Still can't believe this is happening.

Alison: I know.

Jamal: I can't, either. But I'm happy, I'm happy. I am.

Jack: Well, you'd better be because you're going to be my best man. Right there.

Jamal: All right, baby boy.

Alison: Oh.

Jamal: Wow. Best man.

Alison: Yeah. Well, you know, you are his best friend.

Jamal: Yeah, true. That's true. Well --

Alison: Jamal, listen -- I know that things between us have been a little weird lately, and I just --

Jamal: Yeah, you can say that again.

Alison: Yeah. You know, listening to Jack here talk about Livvie like that -- you know, he's so happy and stuff -- it sort of made me sad for us.

Jamal: Look, this is all my fault. This whole Valerie thing --

Alison: No, Jamal. Please, it really -- you don't know how crazy I got.

Jamal: I don't even blame you. You know, I should've just been straight with you and that's it.

Alison: No, please, you really don't know how crazy I got.

Jamal: Ok. What did you do?

Alison: Um -- I -- I went to her.

Jamal: Valerie?

Alison: And I sort of told her to stay the hell away from you. What, you're not mad?

Jamal: Hey, two chicks fighting over me?

Alison: Oh --

Jamal: I'm sorry that I wasn't there to see it.

Alison: Please. Give me a break right now.

Lucy oh, my. That's what you were trying to protect me from -- my death.

Rafe: I'm sorry you had to see that. But it's the only way I could convince you that if you continue on this path, then --

Lucy: I'll die. I need -- I'm going to go home now.

Rafe: That's a good idea.

[Car engine starts]

[car pulls away]

Rafe: I know who the dark force is, Caleb. And I know you're trying to come back, but you won't succeed because I'm going to find you and finish the job these people started. That's a promise!

Caleb: What I need, Olivia, is just one little kiss. Kiss me and make me whole.

Caleb: It's almost time. Soon I can let you remember. You're the one, Olivia. You're the one helping me to destroy their lives. But for now, sweet dreams, my love. You have much to do tomorrow.

>> Stay tuned for scenes from the next "Port Charles: Tempted."

>> On the next "Port Charles" --

Jack: I have a special evening planned for us.

Chris: Where have you been?

Karen: The D.A.'S office, turning you in, Dr. Frankenstein.

Lucy: I think Rafe was trying to tell me that I'm not the only person in danger.
