Episode # 10541 ~ The Defenestration of Blair Cramer
Provided By Suzanne
Proofread By Kathy
Woman: You still haven't proven your commitment to gay rights.
Man: You're all talk. This is a stunt.
Dorian: It most certainly is not a stunt, and I can prove it. Uh, Amelia Bennett is not just my new campaign manager. She's my partner, my fiancée. [Gasps]
Dorian: Yes, yes, you understood me correctly. Amelia Bennett and I are engaged to be married.
[Crowd murmurs]
Destiny: Yo, Shaun, wake up. Your ex-boss is marrying a woman, and she's a sister. You want to miss this?
Matthew: What's up?
Destiny: Miss Dorian Lord is marrying a black woman.
Matthew: What?
Destiny: Yeah, right? If Shaun could hear anything, that would have popped him right up out of this bed.
Matthew: I'm sorry.
Destiny: Me, too.
Matthew: I have some big news of my own.
Woman: I think it's safe to say this is a shocking announcement.
Man: Yeah.
Dorian: I promised you big, and you got big.
Woman: Ms. Bennett, how long have you two been hiding this relationship?
Different woman: Dr. Lord, when did you discover you were gay?
Todd: Where the hell are you, Blair?
Blair: You had Todd Manning's child, and you kept it from him? Oh, Téa, that is the mistake of your life, because he's gonna know.
Téa: Oh, no! You can't tell Todd!
Blair: You try and stop me!
Dorian: Life is a mystery. Everyone must stand alone.
Langston: She's quoting Madonna.
Markko: That's pretty gay.
Langston: Or desperate.
Ernesto: Is this true?
Aurelia: Langston, is your mother one of the--a lesbian?
Langston: Well, if she is, I had no idea.
Starr: I'm gonna go call my mom.
Téa: Don't! Don't go! No! No! Aah! Aah! Aah!
Starr: What was that?
[Screaming]
[Crowd screaming]
[Téa screaming]
Starr: Oh, my God!
Male announcer: The stunning announcement that Dr. Dorian Lord is marrying her female campaign manager has been upstaged by tragedy. During the press conference, an unknown person fell from an upstairs window.
Cole: Who was that?
Starr: I don't know.
Téa: Oh, my God. Blair!
Dorian: Somebody get 911!
Todd: Call 911!
Dorian: Right now!
Oliver: ...La Boulaie on Lincoln Road, right away.
Todd: Should we get her off this?
Langston: It didn't look like either of your brothers.
Cole: The person's too big for that.
Starr: Both of my brothers are at school. Oh, my God.
Roxy: Oh, my God, it's Blair! Hey, Morris, did you see that? Oh, ouch. That's got to hurt. Hey, you two, you got to check this out. What? What's wrong?
Jessica: So I'm assuming you've read the paper this morning.
Roxy: You assume wrong. I think Johnny McBain stole it. He is a closet tabloid--
Jessica: So you haven't heard.
Roxy: Yeah, that Blair fell out of a window?
Jessica: No.
Roxy: That Dorian is a lesbian?
Jessica: Roxy, stop talking for one second, okay?
Roxy: Sounds serious.
Jessica: It is.
Brody: Jared's in police custody.
Bo: No, I don't have time to watch press conferences. Call me when you get the forensics on Landers, okay? Hey.
Nora: Is that about Jared's case?
Bo: Yeah, but there's no need to involve the D.A. yet.
Nora: I was kind of hoping for Viki's sake that the whole thing would be cleared up by now.
Bo: Nope. Maybe not for a while longer.
Nora: Hmm.
Bo: Hmm. Nora.
Nora: Yeah? Um, I was kind of hoping to wait to tell you.
Bo: Tell me what?
Matthew: It's happening. I'm getting out of this chair and walking.
Destiny: How? Greg's so messed up about Shaun, he won't operate on anyone, especially you.
Rachel: Greg, you're working.
Greg: Basic intakes, evaluation.
Rachel: That's all?
Greg: Well, I have a medical degree. I might as well be useful.
Rachel: Well, you could be more than that.
Greg: This is what I can do for now.
Rachel: It's not enough.
Greg: I have patients to see.
Rachel: Not until you help us. My mother is a wreck, and I don't know what to do.
Greg: Well, what's wrong?
Rachel: Matthew isn't backing down. He's gonna have the surgery.
Greg: So tell her I won't operate on him.
Rachel: She knows that. Greg, that's the problem. Matthew won the right to have the surgery. The ruling didn't say that you had to be the surgeon. All it says is that he doesn't need his parents' permission.
Bo: Did Greg Evans change his mind about operating on Matthew?
Nora: No. He still refuses to touch Matthew.
Bo: Good.
Nora: Not so good. No, as a matter of fact, it gets worse.
Rachel: Greg, Matthew is looking for another doctor to operate on him.
Bo: What is this?
Nora: I found them by the printer at home. He's doing internet searches for doctors.
Bo: We should have known he wouldn't give up.
Nora: Oh, he's just as stubborn as every other Buchanan I've ever met.
Bo: Doesn't mean he's stupid. He's determined.
Nora: Well, and that would be wonderful if it wasn't his life at stake.
Todd: Does she have a pulse?
Dorian: Yes, thank God.
Kyle: I'm a med student, if you need--
Dorian: Do you have a medical bag with you?
Kyle: I don't have one.
Dorian: David, I've got one in the hall closet. Please get it.
David: Right, right, right.
Dorian: Thank you. Don't you touch her. Don't you dare move her.
Téa: Oh! Oh! Oh!
Roxy: Jared is in police custody? My son-in-law got arrested?
Brody: No. He's just been taken in for questioning.
Roxy: Questioning about what?
Jessica: There was a murder at Llanfair.
Roxy: A murder? Aces maremba! Who got iced?
Brody: A man named Wayne Landers.
Roxy: Who the hell is Wayne Landers? Was he, like, the butler or something?
Brody: No. He was an ex-con who was in prison the same time as Jared.
Jessica: And he was also the guy running around town pretending to be Nash.
Roxy: Oh, he's the one who was stalking you and Natalie.
Jessica: Apparently.
Roxy: Well, then good for Jared because obviously the creep deserved it. I think Bo should pin a fancy medal on Jared for defending his wife and his family.
Brody: We're not exactly sure that's why Jared did it.
Jessica: If he did it.
Roxy: I don't understand.
Brody: Jared may have had another motive for killing Landers.
Roxy: It's called self-defense. I mean, that creep tried to beat the crap out of him at B.E.
Brody: It looks like that may have been staged.
Roxy: Staged by who? Wait a second. Are you saying that Jared staged his own clobbering?
Jessica: It's possible.
Roxy: Why the hell would he do that? Why would he get this whacko to do a tap dance all over his face and then turn around and murder him?
Brody: To shut him up.
Roxy: Ha! Are you two saying that they were working together? Please don't tell me that they were working together.
Brody: They may have been working together.
Roxy: I told you not to tell me that!
Brody: I'm sorry.
Roxy: I don't get this. I don't get it. First you're saying to me that Jared is a stalker. Now you're saying that he's a killer?
Brody: It's possible. Maybe you should sit down.
Roxy: I don't want to sit down. Why would I want to sit down? I think I better sit down.
Dorian: Hang in there, baby girl. Hang in.
Destiny: You'd let another doctor operate on you?
Matthew: Sure. Why not?
Destiny: Because it's dangerous, and they can make you worse.
Matthew: What else am I supposed to do? I can't wait for Greg forever. He chickened out on me.
Destiny: Just give him a little more time. He'll come around.
Greg: I'm sorry.
Rachel: I'm glad you can say those words now, but they're not the answer to everything.
Greg: But Matthew is not my patient.
Rachel: You're the one who gave him hope.
Greg: I'm not operating again, Rachel--not on Matthew, not on anyone.
Rachel: Look, I understand how you felt after Shaun's surgery. You didn't want to risk Matthew, and I respected that.
Greg: Thank you.
Rachel: But you're not protecting him now by saying no. Matthew is determined to have this surgery. He's going to find a doctor, and I know there's no way that doctor is going to be anywhere near as good as you. If you say no now, you're risking Matthew's life.
Nora: I've spent over an hour going over the judge's ruling here. I can't believe he left a hole this big in it.
Bo: No, it's not a hole. You know, Matthew wants to walk, so he's allowed to find a doctor and give it a shot.
Nora: Give it a shot? That's our baby.
Bo: Can you think of a doctor, any of them we talked to before, who we could trust?
Nora: They all said no. I can't imagine that they would change their mind at this point. I can't imagine any good doctor agreeing to this.
Bo: Do you think he's already found somebody?
Matthew: How long am I supposed to wait for Greg? A week? A month? Every day I sit in this chair, I don't use my muscles, and I get weaker.
Destiny: You don't know that.
Matthew: Your brother Greg is the one who told me that. The sooner I get my surgery, the greater my chances are of walking again.
Destiny: Not if you let just anyone cut on you.
Matthew: I did a bunch of research online, and I found a great neurosurgeon. I talked to him this morning, and he's coming to examine me.
Destiny: Bad idea, Matthew. Very bad idea.
Dorian: Stop that. Show some respect. Don't make me say it--
David: Bad time to stop by, Téa.
Todd: You didn't do this.
Téa: No. No, I just--
Todd: Because I saw you up there.
Téa: No.
Todd: What happened?
Female reporter: Martin, we can now confirm that the body on the pool cover...
Starr: Body?
Female reporter: Is Blair Cramer...
Cole: They don't mean that.
Female reporter: The niece of newly gay mayoral candidate, Dr. Dorian Lord. Ms. Cramer is unconscious, and the extent of her injuries is unknown at this time.
Cole: See? They'll take her to the hospital.
Starr: We have to go now.
Cole: Okay. I'll drive.
Starr: Okay.
[Baby crying]
Dorian: Make sure her C-spine is protected.
Paramedic: Yes, ma'am.
David: Dorian, here we go. Let them work. Come with me.
Dorian: Check for bone fractures.
David: Dorian, look at me. Focus. You can't drive to the hospital right now. Do you want me to take you?
Dorian: No. I'm riding in the ambulance with Blair. You stay here.
David: Are you sure?
Dorian: Absolutely. You help Amelia with the media.
Todd: I mean, I know you were ticked at Blair for telling me about your other husband.
Téa: No.
Todd: Téa--
Téa: No. I mean, yes, yes, I was, but that's not-- that--it wasn't--
Todd: It wasn't why you pushed her out the window?
Téa: No. I didn't push her out the window. It was an accident. It was an accident, Todd!
Todd: Please.
Téa: It was.
[Crowd murmuring]
Dorian: I'm going in the ambulance with her.
Nora: I have no idea if Matthew found a doctor already. My God, he's using a search engine to make major medical decisions.
Bo: Maybe he's just researching background information.
Nora: Online? Online? Gee, there's a reliable source for accurate information on delicate medical procedures.
Bo: Nora--
Nora: And nobody ever lies about their credentials or their success rate or their name online.
Bo: Yeah, but we don't know that that's what he's doing. We're guessing right now, based on these pages.
Nora: We have to stop him. We have to stop him.
Bo: You have any suggestions?
Nora: I'll file a motion. That's what I'll do. I'll call Elijah, get him on the phone. And if I can't do that, I'll file it myself.
Bo: Good. Good. Do that. It can't hurt.
Nora: It can't help, either, because we already lost the appeal.
Bo: We'll cut him off.
Nora: What?
Bo: He can't get an operation without money. We'll take him off the insurance. We'll pull the plug on his bank account.
Nora: Appendix "A."
Bo: Huh?
Nora: Back of the contract. Téa filed to make sure that Matthew had access to his trust fund for any medical procedures covered by the ruling.
Bo: Bet you he made sure that it covers his legal expenses, too, huh? God forbid she miss a paycheck. Thanks, Pa.
Nora: Oh, Bo.
Bo: No. He's the reason that Matthew has money that we have no control over.
Nora: Okay, well, this is not helping. How in the world do we stop this train wreck?
Bo: We get on board.
Nora: We--what?
Bo: We can't stop him. He is going to find a doctor that will operate on him.
Nora: And what? We just go along with it?
Bo: No. We find the best surgeon that can do the operation.
Nora: By all accounts, that's Greg Evans.
Bo: Then we have to talk him into operating.
Nora: Oh, my God. I can't believe where we are.
Bo: But he's the devil we know. What else are we gonna do?
Greg: I am not the only doctor on earth who can do Matthew's surgery.
Rachel: You sure made it sound that way.
Greg: Yeah? Well, I'm pretty arrogant, didn't you hear?
Rachel: Hey! I also heard a lot of happy patients, people who can walk now because of you.
Greg: Yeah? Well, there's someone else you should check in with--fourth floor I.C.U. The name's Shaun. He didn't have anything nice to say about my skills.
Rachel: Greg--
Greg: In fact, he hasn't said anything at all since I operated on him.
Rachel: That was different.
Greg: No, that was me in all my glory. I can do nothing wrong. Take a bullet out of my brother's brain? No problem. I'm the greatest. That's what I told my family. Hell, that's what I told the world. I can heal anyone.
Rachel: Does this make you feel good? Because it's really not helping anybody.
Greg: It's the best that I've got, Rachel. And you're right. It wouldn't help your little brother one bit, but I'm being the best doctor I can be right now. I just got to get back to the beginning to get it right this time. Number one rule in medicine: First, do no harm.
Doctor: Accident victim on the way in. Head and spinal cord trauma. Will you consult? Now what have we got?
Paramedic: Patient fell from an upstairs window. Nobody moved her on the scene. Vitals steady, but she's unresponsive.
Todd: Hey, man, what are you, 12 years old? No, no, no. I want the best doctor in this place right now. Hey, you are not allowed to check out on me. Hear me? You come back.
Starr: We can't leave now.
Aurelia: No, you go ahead. We can watch her.
Langston: Starr, Mrs. Rivera's right.
Starr: I can't go when she's crying.
Cole: Starr, you're upset. That's not gonna help her. Let me go get her.
Starr: Okay. You're right.
Markko: Hope wasn't too happy with me and Cole this afternoon.
Ernesto: She was fine with us.
Markko: True.
Aurelia: Oh, come here, Esperanza.
Starr: I know.
Aurelia: That's a good girl. There we go. Go to your mother.
Starr: Thank you. Thank you.
Langston: You know, I can come if you want.
Starr: No. Could you please stay here just in case the Riveras have to leave?
Langston: Okay, but promise me you'll call me with any news.
Starr: We will.
Langston: Okay.
Markko: I hope your mom is okay.
Starr: Me, too.
Todd: Hold on. I want someone with experience in here right now taking care of her.
Greg: I'm Dr. Evans. Let's everyone calm down to focus on the patient, please.
Dorian: Thank you very much, Doctor. My niece fell from a second-story window. She landed on a pool cover, luckily, or heaven knows what would have happened to her.
Greg: Okay. Is there a report?
Dorian: There are no long-bone fractures. Her pelvis appears stable. There's no step-off on her C-spine.
Male paramedic: Meet Dr. Lord.
Female paramedic: Pupils are equal.
Todd: I just want you to do whatever it takes to take care of her, okay?
Greg: We'll take very good care of her, okay? Let's get her inside.
Dorian: Right.
Greg: Okay, so tell me, how long ago did she fall?
Todd: She didn't fall. She was pushed.
Oliver: Ms. Delgado, I'm Officer Fish.
Téa: I'm in a hurry.
Oliver: I'm sorry, but I--
Téa: My husband is at the hospital. He needs me.
Oliver: I'm afraid I can't let you leave.
Roxy: Thanks.
Brody: Are you all right?
Roxy: Oh, yeah. I'm doing swell. My son-in-law is in police custody. Where's Nattie? Does she know about this?
Jessica: Yeah. She's with him right now.
Roxy: Oh, good. So, what does she think?
Jessica: Well, she thinks he's innocent.
Roxy: Well, I think he's innocent, too. I'm telling you, Jared is no criminal. Of course, when he first came to town, he tried to pretend that he was Asa's son and scam all the Buchanans out of all of their money. But that was way before Nattie. She's changed him completely.
Jessica: I want to believe that, too.
Roxy: He's being framed, and it won't be the first time it happened. Way back in Atlantic City when Tess set him up and he did two years in the big house--ooh, you're not Tess today, are you?
Brody: She's not Tess.
Jessica: I'm not. I swear.
Roxy: I'm so sorry. I'm just a little upset.
Jessica: I know. I know. It's okay. You know, we all are. I am, too. I just--I just wanted you to know that Natalie's okay, and she has everything under control.
Roxy: Oh, good. And Jared's got a lawyer and everything.
Jessica: He's on the case.
Roxy: He? Why didn't Nattie hire Téa Delgado? Because she's a barracuda. I hear that she eats cops for breakfast.
Téa: If you hold me here against my will, I will report you!
Oliver: This is a potential crime scene. I can hold anybody I want.
Téa: Crime scene?
Oliver: Mr. Manning believes that you pushed his ex-wife out the window.
Téa: Oh, is that what he told you?
Oliver: No. I heard you two talking.
Téa: Well, then you also heard that it was an accident. Now I have to go!
Oliver: Not without a full statement. Now, why were you and Ms. Cramer arguing?
Greg: She's lucky she landed on the pool cover.
Dorian: But it was almost an hour ago, and she's not responding to voice or pain stimuli.
Greg: And there's no sign of a seizure?
Dorian: No seizures, no vomiting. But I am worried about a subdural hematoma.
Greg: We'll check everything. Thank you, Doctor.
Dorian: Thank you, Doctor. Todd, no! Let the doctor do his job.
Destiny: So you found a doctor to come here today.
Matthew: Pretty good luck, huh?
Destiny: You think?
Matthew: Yeah, I know how long the waiting list can be for someone who's really good.
Destiny: Then how good can this guy be?
Matthew: It was a fluke. He's at this conference now, and he has a free afternoon. Maybe it's just fate.
Destiny: Or a big fat mistake.
Matthew: Thanks for the support, Des. I have to go. I have an appointment.
Rachel: Why is Matthew in such a rush?
Destiny: He has an appointment.
Rachel: Did you two just get into a fight?
Destiny: No fight. He's just being a fool, and I told him so.
Rachel: Oh. Okay. How is Shaun doing today?
Destiny: No change. I miss Shaun being up in my face every day, but today is the first time I wished he'd get in somebody else's face for me.
Rachel: Who needs speaking to?
Destiny: Matthew or Dr. Nance.
Rachel: Dr. Who?
Destiny: Nance. He's the guy Matthew found to do the surgery.
Rachel: No.
Destiny: Yeah.
Rachel: Already?
Destiny: That's where he was going. Matthew's meeting with his new doctor right now.
Todd: You know, I don't trust any of the clowns in this hospital.
Dorian: Oh, please. Todd, trust me. I--I've done my research, and Dr. Evans--he's supposed to be tops in his--
Todd: Wait, wait, wait, wait. Did you say Dr. Evans?
Dorian: Yes, I did.
Todd: Is that Dr. Evans as in Shaun's brother Dr. Evans, the one that put Shaun in a coma?
Dorian: Oh, no.
Todd: Is that right?
Dorian: Yes, it's right, but--
Todd: Okay, well, wait a minute, then. There's no way he is going to--
Dorian: Don’t. Don't, Todd.
Starr: Dad!
Dorian: Calm down.
Starr: We saw it on TV. Is Mom okay?
Dorian: Yes.
Todd: We don't know yet.
Dorian: Darling, um, don't worry. The doctor is in with her right now.
Starr: Well, how did it--how did it happen? How did she fall?
Téa: Blair and I were not arguing.
Oliver: Mr. Manning said that you were furious at Blair, and you didn't deny it.
Téa: Did you tape us? Because that's illegal.
Oliver: Answer the question, Ms. Delgado. Why were you and Ms. Cramer arguing?
Téa: How do I know what it's like to have a child? Because I have one.
Blair: Your child isn't Ross’s, but it's Todd’s. You had Todd Manning's child, and you kept it from him? Oh, Téa. That is the mistake of your life because he's gonna know.
Téa: Oh, no!
Oliver: Ms. Delgado, what was the fight about?
Langston: Hey, do you guys think we could turn on the TV? Maybe there's some news.
Markko: Um, yeah.
Female reporter: Perhaps your lover, Dr. Lord, is watching right now at the hospital. What message would you like to send her?
Amelia: I wish I could be there with you right now, Dorian, and someday, when same-sex marriage is made legal, I hope to call your family my own. Until then, I send all my love and support.
Markko: Wow.
Langston: Yeah.
Markko: Hey, any chance it's true?
Langston: No clue.
Ernesto: You didn't know your mother was...like that?
Langston: No. It's a surprise to me. I'm sure it's a surprise to you.
Aurelia: Look, Ernesto. She likes me.
Langston: Look, I don't know what to say. This whole day has been really awkward, and I'm so sorry.
Ernesto: Langston, this isn't the time to worry about anything else except this baby's abuela. We should say a prayer.
Amelia: All my thoughts and prayers are with my partner Dorian and her niece Blair.
David: Dorian's niece falls out of a window, and Amelia turns it into an election year pitch for same-sex marriage. That is...talent.
Nick: It's not that--
David: Craven? Opportunistic? Diabolical? Nick, these are compliments. That one and Dorian may be the perfect couple.
Kyle: He's right. You two planned this whole gay candidate thing, huh?
Nick: No. No. Not true. Look, we wanted Dorian to agree to marry same-sex couples. That's all.
Kyle: Did you know she was gay? She's not, is she? So this is all a show.
Nick: Look, the whole coming out, being engaged to Amelia--that was definitely not part of the plan, but I mean, it's fabulous. Think of the publicity we'll get.
Kyle: We?
Nick: The community. I mean, don't you think we deserve the right to get married, have families? This is how we challenge the law--having a high-profile person like Dorian Lord on board. It's perfect. What?
Oliver: I'm a cop, and if I think that your boyfriend is planning some kind of a hit, then I have to investigate. I just--I wanted to warn you.
Nick: Is something wrong?
Kyle: Forget it. It's nothing.
Oliver: Why don't you tell me about the fight?
Téa: Um, look, it was personal, okay? And it's no big deal. Blair and I fight all the time. Now I have to go.
Oliver: Ms. Cramer doesn't fall out the window all the time.
Téa: No. Last time it was me who fell out the window.
Oliver: I can't let you leave.
Nora: Matthew's meeting with a doctor right now?
Destiny: Yeah.
Nora: Who? How did he--how did he find this doctor?
Destiny: A guy named Dr. Nance. He was in Philly for some meeting. Matthew got him on the phone.
Bo: Did he talk to you about this?
Rachel: No. Mom just told me this morning he was looking for another doctor. I haven't had a chance to even see him yet.
Nora: I wish he'd--hopefully he'll listen to you.
Destiny: I told him it was a bad idea.
Nora: You did?
Destiny: I don't trust anyone besides Greg operating on him.
Bo: We agree.
Destiny: You want Greg?
Nora: No, we don't want anybody, as a matter of fact. We still think this is a mistake that could cost Matthew his life.
Bo: Nora--
Nora: It's true. I just wish Clint had never brought Greg Evans here. I wish none of this was happening.
Bo: But since it is, we thought that Greg would be our best choice, so we want to talk to him. Do you know where he is?
Rachel: Emergency room. I just came from there. Uh, already tried.
Nora: What?
Rachel: I'm way ahead of you, Mom. After you told me what Matthew was doing, I came down here to see if Greg would reconsider.
Nora: And did he listen?
Rachel: He listened. He just didn't change his mind.
Bo: He said no?
Rachel: He doesn't trust himself anymore.
Dorian: We can't have you worried and upset. It's not gonna help your mother.
Starr: Dad, were you with Mom when it happened?
Todd: Uh, not really. I mean, I was looking for her, and then she...but you're right. She was with Téa.
Starr: It's awful.
Todd: So?
Dorian: This is the doctor who is attending your mother--Dr. Gregory Evans.
Starr: It's nice to meet you. How is my mom?
Dorian: Yes.
Greg: Blair is one lucky woman.
Todd: I don't know what that means. Is she all right?
Greg: Landing on that pool cover actually saved her life.
Todd: But is she okay now?
Greg: Well, she has a lot of bruises, a couple of sprains, lacerations, but no internal injury.
Dorian: Thank God.
Greg: Of course, she did suffer a concussion, so we'll keep her here overnight for observations. Now, I did do an MRI and a cat scan as well just to confirm, but so far, no brain nor spinal injuries.
Starr: Does that mean she's gonna be all right?
Greg: I believe so, yes.
Dorian: Thank you, Doctor.
Todd: Uh, I have to see her.
Oliver: Ms. Delgado, it would be in your best interest to cooperate.
Téa: Am I under arrest? Officer Fish, listen up. You have no probable cause to arrest me, not a shred of physical evidence.
Oliver: No, Mr. Manning said--
Téa: Oh, oh, Mr. Manning said--yeah, tell them that at the station. They love Mr. Manning down there. Now get out of my way, junior. I have to see my husband.
Oliver: Ms. Delgado.
Téa: Stop me by shooting me in the back, why don't you?
Dorian: Todd, the last thing Blair needs right now is you.
Greg: Actually, she asked to see Mr. Manning alone.
Dorian: She's awake?
Greg: Well, in and out. Do me a favor. Keep it brief, please.
Starr: Dad, tell Mom that we're here and that I love her. Please.
Dorian: I just can't believe the first person Blair wanted to see was that man.
[Heart monitor beeping]
Nick: Are you okay with this plan?
Amelia: This has been the strangest two hours of my life, but still, this will work.
Nick: But are you really gonna marry Dorian Lord?
Amelia: Why not? This will get us a lot more national press.
Nick: But you'll be marrying a stranger.
Amelia: It's not forever, and besides, how bad can Dr. Dorian Lord be?
Dorian: Blair has a concussion but no spinal injury, no broken bones. Thank heaven. She's gonna be fine.
David: Oh, good. Your female fiancée will be thrilled to hear that.
Dorian: Don't be that way, darling.
David: Oh, now I'm darling.
Dorian: It's for a good cause.
David: What, your election and total domination of Llanview?
Dorian: For starters. But I also believe in equal rights for same-sex partners. Don't you?
David: Of course. Why shouldn't they be as miserable as every other married couple?
Dorian: Very cynical, David.
David: It's been one of those days, Dorian.
Dorian: Keep the cover going.
Reporter: You're Dr. Lord's most recent ex-husband, aren't you? We'd like to get an exclusive in-depth interview.
David: Gotta go.
Reporter: You're David Vickers?
David: David Vickers Buchanan. Actor, entrepreneur, freelance political operative.
Reporter: You were married to Dorian Lord?
David: Indeed. Dorian and I had a tumultuous 6-part-miniseries-type relationship. It had its ups and downs, intrigue, romance, a few laughs thrown in there just for good measure. Her niece, by the way, is going to be all right.
Reporter: Who?
David: Blair Cramer, fell out that window. Ring any bells?
Reporter: Of course. Thank you. We'll be happy to report that. The ups and downs of your marriage--were they around Dr. Lord's sexuality?
David: You're going to want to rephrase that in the edit. Dorian's niece is going to be all right, everyone. I know you were concerned.
Amelia: Yes, we were. Thank goodness.
Reporter: David, did you know that Dorian Lord was gay?
Jessica: Uh, Roxy, not to change the subject, but what were you saying before about Dorian being a lesbian?
Roxy: Oh, yeah. Yeah. I heard that before Blair came crashing through the window and then landed right on the pool cover.
Jessica: Uh, okay. Look, we better get going. I just--are you sure you're okay?
Roxy: Oh, yeah. I'm all right. Don't be concerned about me. I'm really thinking about Jared and about Natalie. Viki's taking care of her, right?
Jessica: She is.
Roxy: Oh, good. Well, it's good. She's with her mother.
Jessica: You know, you're her mother, too.
Brody: Hang in there, Rox.
Roxy: Bye.
Nora: Well, do you think there's anything we could say or do that would make Evans change his mind?
Rachel: I don't believe anything short of Shaun waking up and begging him to operate on Matthew will do it.
Destiny: That's exactly what will happen.
Matthew: Hey.
Nora: Hi!
Bo: Hi, son.
Matthew: What's going on? Is Shaun okay?
Rachel: Yeah. There's no change.
Matthew: Then why are you all here?
Nora: Um, we came to talk to Dr. Evans and heard you had another doctor's appointment.
Destiny: I told them.
Matthew: That's okay. It wasn't a secret. Dr. Nance is great.
Bo: Mm-hmm. Who is this guy?
Matthew: He's a great surgeon. He worked with Greg. They know all the same stuff.
Rachel: Did he say that?
Matthew: No. Greg did. I just met him. He's really cool. And, you know, quiet. You know, competent.
Nora: No, I don't know, but so, tell us, please.
Matthew: Look at your faces. This is good news. He took me.
Bo: What does that mean?
Matthew: Dr. Nance reviewed Greg's file and agreed that I'm a great candidate for the surgery. He flies back to Seattle today, earlier than he expected.
Nora: Okay. Okay.
Matthew: That means he has an opening in his schedule. I have to fly to Seattle, and if I do, I can have the surgery tomorrow.
Dorian: Oh, Dr. Evans, we really can't thank you enough.
Greg: There was nothing to do. Your niece is very strong and lucky. I'll check in on her a little later.
Starr: Okay. Thank you, Doctor.
Cole: Yeah. We appreciate it.
Greg: Glad I could help.
Dorian: You know what? I'd better call the chauffeur. It's almost time for the boys to be picked up at school, and I don't want them anywhere near the house.
Starr: Langston is going to be so relieved to hear about my mom.
Cole: I bet she'll be real happy talking to you on the phone for as long as you want.
Starr: Cole.
Cole: I can't even imagine how it's going with Markko's parents.
Markko: I didn't know you were so good with babies.
Ernesto: Of course I am.
Markko: It's good to know.
Ernesto: That doesn't mean I'm ready to be a grandfather. Starr's announcement that Langston was pregnant...
Langston: Was just her trying to make a point. Don't worry.
Markko: We use protection every time--
Aurelia: Mijo, por favor.
Ernesto: We know too much about your sex life already.
[Cell phone rings]
Langston: Hello?
Starr: My mom's okay.
Langston: Oh! Blair's okay. Oh, what a relief.
Starr: I know. Thank God.
Langston: We all prayed for her.
Starr: Thank you. How's Hope?
Langston: She's fine. Don't worry at all.
Starr: You guys are the best. I'll see you soon.
Langston: Bye. You know, Starr thanked me for taking care of Hope, but it was really you two. We're so glad that you're here.
Reporter: Your ex-wife says she's a lesbian. Do you want to make a statement to the press?
Nick: Vickers better not blow this.
David: If I could have everyone's attention, I would just like to say that, uh, I knew something was wrong when Dorian let me go. I thought she was jealous of my female fans. After I completed the television campaign for the good folks at Have-a-Seat hemorrhoid pads, women threw themselves at me, naturally, and Dorian and I experienced some strain on our relationship. I now understand that it was something more than that. Dorian found her true self with Amelia. Who was I to stop that? So I did what any man would do. I stepped aside and let their love live.
Todd: Hey there. Good to see you. How you doing?
Blair: I've been better.
Todd: Yeah, I know. So have we. What happened?
Starr: Téa.
Téa: Oh.
Starr: My mom's gonna be okay. She's gonna be okay.
Téa: Oh, thank God. Hi, Cole.
Starr: There are no broken bones, and her back is fine, and she's awake and talking.
Téa: Really?
Starr: Yeah.
Téa: Okay.
Starr: My dad's in there with her right now.
Todd: What is it?
Blair: I have to tell you something.
