Starr: You've been getting high ever since the accident? This whole time? Even though if you get caught once, you will go to prison? Even after you ruined Matthew's life -- probably forever -- you still didn't stop using? What the hell is wrong with you?

Cole: I want to stop. Every time I get high, I want to stop.

Starr: Then why didn't you?

Cole: Because I can't -- I can't, Starr! I can't stop!

[Cole sighs]

Cole: I thought I could, you know? I just -- I can't. I can't. I -- I don't know what to do. I mean, you think -- you think I want to take these? You think I want to take these and fail my drug test and go to prison? No, I don't want -- I don't want that. I don't want any of that. But you know, the truth is I don't care. I don't care anymore. That's how bad I need to take one of these right now.

Gigi: Why do we have to do this now?

Rex: Well, there really is no right time to tell your kid you're breaking up.

Gigi: But you just said he's doing better, and I just ordered a pizza. He's happy.

Rex: He deserves to know the truth. I'm done lying to my son.

Gigi: Maybe this isn't the right thing to do.

[Knock on door]

Téa: What are you doing here?

Todd: Your cell phone's broken, I think.

Téa: No, it's not.

Todd: Oh, well. Guess it's a good thing I checked.

Téa: What the hell do you want, Todd, huh?

[Todd chuckles]

Todd: Why don't you let me in and you'll -- you'll find out?

Langston: You know, I probably shouldn't be saying this about my own uncle but, um, you look kind of hot.

Ray: I can only hope my date agrees with you.

Langston: So who's the lucky girl?

Dorian: I am.

[Dorian giggles]

Langston: Oh, okay!

[Langston laughs]

Ray: Ay, mujer!

Langston: Ooh!

Ray: Mira la dama elegante.

Dorian: Muchas gracias, senor.

Langston: Yeah, he's right. You look fabulous.

Dorian: Thank you.

Langston: Yeah, you know who else would think so? Your husband.

Téa: No, you cannot come in.

Todd: Oh, why not? You seem pretty excited answering the door.

Téa: Huh. Well, if I'd known it was you, I would've gone out the window.

[Todd chuckles]

Todd: Well, it wouldn't have been the first time for that.

[Téa chuckles]

Todd: Of course, that was when you were my lawyer.

Téa: Oh. Well, lucky for me I am no longer on retainer.

Todd: Oh, that's why I came by. I wanted to tell you the good news, that the judge has granted my request for an emergency custody hearing, tomorrow, and I -- I want to make sure you don't miss me getting my kids back.

[Jessica breathing heavily]

Jessica: I -- I can't believe this after all we've been through, after all this time.

Jessica: What do we do now?

Brody: Stay with me tonight, Jessica. I want to make love with you.

Téa: I am aware of our court date tomorrow.

Todd: Is that why you're trying out outfits?

[Téa scoffs]

Téa: You know, lucky for me, because I am no longer your lawyer, I don't have to see you until tomorrow -- thank you very much.

Todd: You don't want to go over strategy for old time's sake?

[Téa sighs]

Todd: Order room service? Talk about how I'm going to mop the floor with you tomorrow?

Téa: Oh, ho, ho -- keep dreaming, Todd.

Todd: You know, the thing about you and me is -- we don't always have to talk.

Téa: I have plans.

Todd: Oh, no kidding?

Téa: Yeah.

Todd: What, are you going to party by yourself so you can run into me?

[Téa chuckles]

Todd: Because I saved you the trip.

[R.J. chuckles]

R.J.: Well. You know, someone really should speak to Renee about the people she allows in her establishment.

Todd: Well, I was just about to say the same thing.

Téa: Oh.

[R.J. chuckles]

R.J.: Yeah -- witty. Look at you. Ready?

Téa: I have been ready for a long time, R.J. -- don't touch that. And you look very handsome.

R.J.: Oh, thank you.

Todd: Thanks.

Dorian: It has been such an awful day.

Ray: It's about to get better.

Langston: Yeah, well, okay. You two kids have fun.

Dorian: Huh! Excuse me -- are you trying to get rid of us?

Langston: Who, me?

[Dorian chuckles]

Langston: Uh --

Markko: Hey -- oh.

Langston: Oh, Markko's here to study.

Markko: Yeah -- finals.

Langston: Yeah, they're going to be brutal. So, have fun.

Dorian: Make sure you get an A.

Markko: Oh, we will.

Langston: Good night.

Gigi: This is not what I wanted.

Rex: Why did you ask for it?

Gigi: Rex -- it was not supposed to be this way.

Rex: Okay, are you saying it was a mistake, that we shouldn't be breaking up?

Priest: Hi, Gigi. How's Shane doing?

Gigi: He is much better.

Priest: Oh, really? That's wonderful.

Rex: Yeah, it's great.

Gigi: Um, thank you so much.

Priest: Don't thank me. I've seen you in the chapel. God must've heard your prayers.

Gigi: Yes, he did.

Rex: Gigi? Can we --

Gigi: No -- you're right, Rex. We should go in there and tell Shane we're through.

Jessica: I haven't been with anyone since Nash, and I -- I guess I'm a little nervous.

Brody: Oh. Not as much as I am.

Jessica: You're nervous to be with me?

[Brody sighs]

Brody: When I -- when I first got back from Iraq, I'd go out every night and get wasted, get into fights. And I slept with a lot of women. Most of the time, I didn't even know their names because they didn't mean anything to me.

Jessica: I don't know what you want me to say.

Brody: You mean the world to me. So, hell, yes, I'm nervous.

Jessica: But you --

Brody: Want you? I want you, but only if it feels right to you.

Starr: I know you, Cole. You care about whether you mess up your life. You care about going to prison.

Cole: You don't get it. The first time I took one of those pills, it's like I got an element of my body that was missing before. They're stronger than me.

Starr: No, they're not stronger than you. If they were, you would've taken one of them by now.

Cole: It's kill -- it's killing me not to take one right now.

Starr: But, your last drug test was clean.

Cole: That is because I conned my best friend.

Starr: What -- what do you mean?

Cole: I lied to Markko so that he would take my drug test for me.

Starr: You what?

Cole: Yeah. See? That's -- that's what these pills do, Starr. It doesn't matter -- it doesn't matter who I hurt. I let Matthew get in that car with me, now he's never going to walk again. He's never going to walk again because of me!

[Starr sobs]

Cole: Because of me, and what do I do? What do I do? Yeah -- take another pill.

Starr: Cole, you were -- you were hurting.

Cole: Yeah. Every time I put one of those pills in my mouth, I was spitting on Matthew. I was spitting on Matthew, I was spitting on -- on Markko and Nora and you.

[Cole sighs]

Cole: Yeah, you -- you were right to run out on me. All I do is hurt people.

Starr: Cole?

Cole: You should go. You should go to Mr. J. If that's what you really want, if that's what you want really want, I get it.

Starr: No --

Cole: I get it. Starr? Look at me. I'm not worth it.

Starr: No. I'm not leaving you.

Téa: Charlie, do you know R.J. Gannon?

Charlie: Yeah -- no, I don't think we've had the pleasure.

R.J.: How are you?

Téa: Viki.

Viki: Hi!

Téa: Hi. I took your advice.

Viki: Ah, so I see.

[Téa chuckles]

Téa: The moment R.J. asked me out tonight, I thought "what a wonderful opportunity to get my mind off" you know who.

Viki: Uh, that might be easier said than done. "You know who" just walked in.

Téa: Um, you know -- let's find the maitre d' and get a table far, far away. Okay?

R.J.: Okay. It's good to see you again, Viki.

Viki: You, too, R.J.

Téa: Bye.

Charlie: Now, should we be inviting your brother to join us?

Viki: Are you insane? I would like to enjoy your company.

Charlie: Oh. I was hoping you would say that.

Viki: Here is to a night of peace and quiet.

Charlie: Amen.

Viki: Oh, my God.

Dorian: Hello, Viki -- Charlie.

[Viki sighs]

Shane: Dr. McBain brought me new markers -- said I could take them home with me.

Gigi: Tomorrow, right, bud?

Rex: Pretty awesome, huh? You're finally going to blow this pop stand.

Shane: Yeah, it's awesome. So, how come you guys look like somebody died?

Markko: Oh, I want you so much.

Langston: Oh, I want you, too. No -- but, no, we should -- we should stop.

Markko: Oh, yeah. You're right. We should totally stop.

Langston: Markko! No, no, we -- we can't, we can't. Markko.

Markko: Whew. Okay, but -- okay. All right, yeah, yeah -- you're right. I love you so much, but I don't want you to do anything you don't want to do.

Langston: Okay, well, I -- I love you, too, and it's not that I don't want to.

Markko: Wait, wait, wait -- you do?

Langston: Yeah.

Markko: So, then, if we love each other and we both want to be together -- what exactly are we waiting for?

Starr: I'm not going anywhere. I'm not leaving you.

Cole: Even after I told you what I did?

Starr: You didn't want to do those things.

Cole: But I did them anyway.

Starr: Why?

Cole: Because I told you -- the pills are stronger than me.

Starr: So you didn't want to take the pills?

Cole: But I can't stop.

[Starr sighs]

Cole: Doesn't matter who I hurt, I can't stop.

Starr: Do you know what that means?

Cole: What?

Starr: You have done everything but say the words. Cole? You're a drug addict.

Dorian: Victoria Davidson and Charlie -- Charles Banks. I'd like you to meet Mr. Ray Montez.

Viki: How do you do?

Ray: Pleasure.

Charlie: Nice to meet you. As for your friend here --

Dorian: Oh, oh. Ray and I are -- on a date.

Viki: Are you?

Dorian: Yes, I'm sure it will come as a shock to you, Viki, but David and I are now finished. It's over.

Viki: Yes, he told me. I was thrilled that he came to his senses.

Dorian: That's hardly the way it was.

Viki: Oh, you don't say?

Dorian: I do.

[Dorian chuckles]

Dorian: Where is the hostess? I'm sure our table must be ready.

Charlie: Ray? I wouldn't turn my back on her if I was you.

Ray: Excuse me?

Charlie: Dorian is full of surprises. You never know when she might stab you with a hypo, slip something into your drink.

Ray: I'll bear that in mind, Charlie.

Dorian: Excuse us! Yeah.

[Charlie sighs]

Charlie: I wonder if he thinks I was joking.

Ray: So what -- what was that about?

Dorian: Yeah, what was that about? What what? You mean --

Ray: What --

Dorian: With Charlie?

Ray: Yeah.

Dorian: It -- it --

Dorian: Oh!

[Dorian laughs]

Dorian: R.J., R.J., R.J.!

R.J.: Well, Dorian, what can I say? Well -- lovelier than ever.

Dorian: Oh, say it twice, please

[R.J. and Dorian chuckle]

Dorian: I'd like you to meet my escort, Ray Montez.

R.J.: Oh.

Ray: Good to meet you, man.

R.J.: You, too, but I think you already know my date -- Téa Delgado.

Ray: Oh.

Dorian: Oh. You and Téa are dating?

R.J.: Is that a problem?

Dorian: No, not at all, not at all In fact, she is going to be our lawyer and, oh, where is she now? There she is!

Téa: Oh, I was just powdering my nose.

Dorian: Ah, and don't you look lovely.

Téa: Oh, thank you. You always look stunning.

Dorian: Well, thank you. Have a lovely evening.

Téa: Um -- Dorian?

[Téa clears throat]

Téa: I should warn you -- Todd is in the building.

Dorian: Well, I guess there go my plans for a lovely evening.

Ray: You're going to let him spoil it?

Dorian: No. Absolutely not -- why should I? No, just as long as you make sure he doesn't win tomorrow.

Téa: Oh, oh, oh. I can handle Todd.

[Clanging sound]

Todd: Yeah, that's what they all said.

Langston: We said that we would wait to have sex, remember? We didn't want to rush anything.

Markko: Yeah, but that was, like, almost two years ago. We're not exactly rushing.

[Langston sighs]

Langston: Yeah, but then I saw Starr getting pregnant and what it did to her life and --

Markko: No, no, that wouldn't be us. We'd -- we'd be safe.

Langston: You know, sometimes when I'm bored, like in study hall or something, I think about what it'd be like.

Markko: You do? Me, too.

Langston: Really?

Markko: Yeah, like all the time.

Langston: No wonder you never get your homework done.

[Langston and Markko chuckle]

Markko: No, but, I mean -- it's not like we said we'd wait till we were married or something.

Langston: True.

Markko: I mean, we never said how long we'd wait at all.

Langston: Also true.

Markko: So -- maybe we've waited long enough?

Langston: Maybe we have.

Markko: Really?

Langston: Really.

Rex: We have to tell you something.

Shane: Did Dr. McBain say I can't go home?

Gigi: No, honey, it's not about that.

Shane: Are you sure?

Rex: Totally.

Shane: Then what's wrong?

Gigi: Okay, this is going to be hard for you to understand, but tomorrow, when you go home, it's just going to be you and me.

Shane: Where is Dad going to be?

Gigi: He's going to go back to his old place.

Shane: What? Why? Are you breaking up?

Gigi: Yes. We are.

Cole: You think I'm a drug addict?

Starr: I'm not an expert or anything.

Cole: Well, that's what you think.

Starr: You said that the pills are stronger than you and that's what addiction is.

[Cole sighs]

Cole: Will you help me?

Starr: Cole --

Cole: I know.

[Starr sighs]

Cole: I know I shouldn't be asking you for that.

Starr: No, it's --

Cole: Shouldn't be asking you for anything.

Starr: It's not that. I just don't know if I can.

Cole: I -- I don't have anyone else.  My mom, John, they're running from the cops.

Starr: Are you kidding me?

Cole: I talked to my mom today. And Nora thinks I'm already getting help and I -- I can't talk to Markko because -- well, not after what I did. Starr, I need you. Will you please help me?

Starr: Yes. Yes, Cole, I'll help you.

Cole: Thank you.

Starr: The first thing I want you to do is to give me those pills.

Starr: Now I need you to admit to me -- admit to me that you have a problem.

Cole: I have a problem.

Starr: You did it.

Cole: What?

Starr: You admitted that you had a problem -- that's the first step, isn't it?

Cole: Ah, I guess. I have a feeling what happens next is -- it's going to be awful.

Starr: Whatever it is, we'll do it together. So why don't we go talk to your drug counselor?

Cole: No -- no, no.

Starr: I thought you said you wanted help

Cole: Yeah, but not -- not from Rachel. Rachel is my drug counselor -- Rachel Gannon, Nora’s daughter.

Starr: Oh, no.

Cole: Well, she's been great, even after what I did to her little brother.

Starr: Really?

Cole: Yep. She -- she found out what happened with -- with me and Markko and she gave me a second chance.

Starr: Okay, well, then why don't you want to talk with her?

Cole: Because I -- I don't want to go to the treatment center. I -- I don't know anyone there, the place smells funny. Uh, it's -- it's lonely there. I don't -- I don't want to go back.

Starr: Then where do you want to go?

Cole: I don't care. I don't care as long as I'm with you.

Gigi: Shane, the important thing is -- nothing is going to change for you, okay? We'll still be your mom and dad and we'll both be there for you 24/7.

Shane: But you won't be there for each other?

Rex: No --

Gigi: Not anymore.

Shane: I don't get it. Is -- is this because of me?

Rex: No.

Gigi: Not at all.

Shane: But I got sick.

Rex: This has nothing to do with that.

Shane: Yes, it does. Before I got sick, everything was great.

Gigi: Everything was great. But this isn't because of you, we promise.

Rex: No way.

Shane: But you said that me being sick made you guys grumpy at each other.

Gigi: I swear, Shane, it's not you.

Shane: Then I don't get it!

Gigi: Okay. Sometimes even when people love each other, stuff happens, stuff you didn't expect.

Shane: Well, what kind of stuff?

Rex: Grown-up stuff. And now that that's happened, your mom and me -- we can't get along like we used to.

Shane: Why don't you try?

Rex: We did, but no matter how hard we try, it just doesn't work anymore.

Gigi: Shane, honey, I'm so sorry. I never, ever wanted to disappoint you.

Shane: But you did. You really did.

[Shane sniffles]

Dorian: You will get those children over my dead body.

Todd: Well, why didn't you say so before, Dorian? And you know who we should call is Blair’s murderer husband. Oh, no, that's right -- we can't, can we?

Téa: No judge is going to rule in your favor, Todd.

Todd: I'm sorry -- were you talking to me? Are you on a date?

Téa: You know that I am. What are you doing here -- earning a little extra money tending bar?

Todd: I'm -- I'm making the perfect martini for the perfect-looking woman.

Ray: So now what? You want to leave?

Dorian: No. I am not going to let Todd Manning spoil my evening.

Ray: Excellent. Then why don't we find our table and change the subject?

Dorian: Good. Let's do that. And we will drink to Téa's success tomorrow.

Téa: Thank you, Dorian.

Dorian: You're welcome, Téa. Blair and I really need you. Take good care of her, R.J.

Ray: Enjoy your evening.

Téa: You, too.

[Téa exhales]

Charlie: Is everything okay?

Viki: Why wouldn't it be?

Charlie: You just seem a little distracted.

Viki: I'm actually looking at Téa.

Charlie: What, you mean the fact that she's with that R.J.?

Viki: Yes, because she's with R.J. And she's looking at Todd.

R.J.: Here we are.

Téa: Oh, thank you. Huh.

R.J.: Now, you told me that everything with Manning was under control.

Téa: Oh, believe me, when we go to court tomorrow, he won't know what hit him.

[R.J. chuckles]

R.J.: But you know that is not what I meant.

Téa: Ah. R.J., I am totally over Todd Manning.

R.J.: No, querida. No, you're not.

Markko: So?

Langston: So.

Markko: How do you want to do this?

Langston: Well, I -- I guess we should make a date for you to -- deflower me?

Markko: Huh -- deflower you?

Langston: Oh -- what?

Markko: It doesn't sound very --

Langston: Hot?

Markko: Romantic.

Langston: You're right. But this is important, and if we're going to avoid any problems --

Markko: Oh. You mean like -- ahem -- what happened to Starr and Cole?

Langston: Exactly, even if Dorian isn't is scary as Starr's dad.

Markko: Oh, she's bad enough.

[Langston sighs]

Langston: So we should make a plan -- where, when?

Markko: Like, this Tuesday in the back seat of my car?

Langston: Are you kidding?

Markko: Kind of. Okay, okay. Bad idea -- forget I said it. Well, I mean, what do you want to do? Uh -- what would make you most, uh, comfortable?

Langston: I got it.

Jessica: This is the first time since Nash died that I've been able to lose control in a good way and -- not be afraid.

Brody: You've got nothing to fear from me.

Jessica: I finally feel like I'm getting back to the person I was before Nash died and everything fell apart.

Brody: Well, I'm glad you found her while I was around.

Jessica: You going to be around for a while?

Brody: I'm not going anywhere.

Brody: Jess, what's wrong?

Jessica: We have a problem.

Brody: We do?

Jessica: We can't tell anyone about us.

Langston: You know, everything kind of started for us at prom two years ago.

Markko: You mean when Mrs. McBain forced you to go?

Langston: Well, she knew that we should be together even though I couldn't stand you.

Markko: Hey, I couldn't stand you, either --

Langston: Oh.

Markko: Until I realized you were my freak.

Langston: And I realized you were mine. So that kind of makes prom like our anniversary. And since you already bought the tickets, maybe the first time we're together should --

Markko: Should be on prom night?

Langston: Am I a total cliché?

Markko: No, no, no, no -- impossible. You're a freak, remember?

Langston: Oh!

Markko: I think it's a great idea.

Langston: You do?

Markko: Yeah, except --

Langston: Except what?

Markko: Except I don't know how I'm going to wait that long.

Langston: Ooh, me, neither!

Ray: So, what -- what was the deal over there?

Dorian: What deal?

Ray: That guy telling me to watch my back?

Dorian: Charlie?

Ray: Charlie. What's -- he's supposed to be revealing some big, scary truth?

Dorian: Charlie has his own version of the truth.

Ray: And what's your version?

Dorian: Quite simply --

Ray: "Quite simply" what?

Dorian: Sometimes, I do bad things.

Ray: Yeah. By reputation, uh, you do bad things better than anybody.

Dorian: Is that a turnoff?

Ray: On the contrary.

R.J.: Ah. So, now -- should I leave?

Téa: What?

R.J.: Well, he doesn't give a damn that I asked you out or that I'm here with you, so -- should I go?

Téa: Huh -- do you think I said yes to your invitation just so I could use you to make Todd jealous?

[R.J. chuckles]

R.J.: Well, I would not mind if you actually used me to make Todd jealous.

Téa: I'm sorry.

[Téa sighs]

Téa: I'm the worst date ever.

R.J.: Hmm. No, I guess I've had worse.

Téa: I'm sorry I ruined your evening.

R.J.: Look, Téa. You know you can do infinitely better than Todd Manning.

Téa: Once upon a time, I did.

Téa: Ah.

Woman: So, do you want to get out of here.

Todd: Yeah, actually, I do. I do.

Starr: Okay, I'll take you somewhere safe.

Cole: Just the two of us?

Starr: Just the two of us.

Cole: Thank you. Thank you.

Starr: That's okay. Let's just go, all right?

Cole: God, I -- I -- I have to sign in at the drug treatment center.

Starr: What? Like, right now?

Cole: Yeah. If I don't, it's --

Starr: Okay, well, then let's just go and then we'll leave right after.

Cole: And how are we going to do that without anyone noticing?

Starr: We'll do it. You are not going to fail your next drug test, you're not going to go to prison, and I will not lose you to those pills.

Cole: And what if I'm not strong enough?

Starr: You are.

Cole: I don't know. All this time, I felt so weak.

Starr: You're not weak. You're an addict. Now, before we go --

Cole: Wait. I’ll do it. I'll do it.

Brody: I'm sorry I dragged you into all this.

Jessica: What, what? You didn't drag me anywhere. I'm where I want to be. But, I do have to go now. I have two little girls at home that need their mom and I don't think we're going to be able to keep this a secret much longer if I stroll into the house at dawn with my shoes in my hand.

[Brody chuckles]

Brody: Good point.

Jessica: But I don't want to go.

Brody: Then don't -- not yet.

Shane: I was so happy.

[Shane sobs]

Rex: Listen to me. Shane? You can still be happy. Okay? Do -- do you remember when you got sick and you weren't sure what was going to happen? But you got better -- right? And your mom and me, splitting up -- you can get through that, too. It's going to be hard, but you can do it. I will always be your father and I'm always going to want two things for you -- for you to be happy and for you to be healthy. And it looks like we got a pretty good shot at getting the healthy part covered. Now, we just got to work on making you happy. We will -- both of us, every day, because we love you more than anything.

Shane: But you don't love each other anymore?

Rex: It's not enough.

Singer: Hello hello, my love the one that I dream of  the one that I  tell all my secrets you are my symphony know every note from memory  you're the one that picks up all my pieces and I can't resist so let me say this this I still believe your love is all that I need and I knew right then on the day we both heard a choir of angels

Singer: I'll tell the universe walk the edge of the earth tell them all that we're not dreaming you put me on the path so thankful for what I have give this world a new meaning and I can't resist so let me say this this I still believe your love is all that I need and I knew right then on the day we both heard a choir of angels fly in the sky I can hear them now let the whole world see what we have known all along I still believe your love is all I needed and I knew right then on the day we both hear on the day we both heard
