Roman: Without letting me tell me
Bo: Wish I could, bro.
Steve: What's the big hurry?
Hope: Why don't you ask E.J.? He arranged everything.
Bo: Since Sami and Lucas are divorced, he seems to think there's no reason to wait.
Hope: And of course, Sami was too afraid to say no.
Bo: Or do anything else that might bring down the wrath of the DiMeras on her family.
Roman: Her family, huh? What about her mom? Does she know what it's gonna do to her to have to deal with something like this so soon after John's death?
Hope: The thing is, she believes she's really doing it for her mom.
Bo: Actually, for all of us.
Roman: Yeah, well, Marlena's gonna lose it.
Hope: That's why we haven't said anything.
Roman: The last thing she needs right now is to watch her daughter marry the man whose family murdered her husband.
Steve: I don't imagine Lucas is too happy about it either.
Bo: Actually, he's the reason you guys are here. He wanted us to talk to you.
Hope: He wants to enlist your help again. He wants all of us to, well, sort of do an intervention.
Bo: Talk to Sami, you know, try to convince her not to go through with this crazy wedding.
Steve: Haven't we tried that already several times?
Hope: For Sami and Lucas' sake, we'll do it again, only this time, we've got to be a lot tougher.
Kayla: I agree with Steve, but, listen, I think we should give it a shot. I'm willing to do whatever I can.
Steve: So am I. But I got a question -- where's Lucas? Shouldn't he be here?
Bo: It's killing him that he can't be.
Hope: We need a game plan. What are we gonna say to her?
Roman: I know what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna go to St. Luke's, drag her the hell out of there by the ear if I have to.
Hope: Roman, wait. That would be a huge mistake.
Lucas: Tonight you're stuck with me. Your mother has to go out. Mind you, she'd rather stay home with us and Will, but... if everything turns out the way I've been praying, maybe things will change. You always were a beautiful bride-to-be.
Sami: That's not funny.
Lucas: That's what you're gonna wear?
Sami: Yeah. Yeah. Don't you like it?
Lucas: It just looks like you're going to a funeral. It doesn't look like you're going to a wedding.
Sami: Well, it feels like I'm going to a funeral. And I hope this is the last one I ever have to attend.
Lucas: Right, right. I won't keep you.
Sami: Lucas... I hate this as much as you do. It's... this is awful.
Lucas: Yeah, watching you walk out the door to marry another man -- it's kind of awful. One word to describe it. But it's okay because I get to have a night alone with the twins -- my last night.
Sami: You know, we're gonna be together all the time. I'm gonna be right down the hall.
Lucas: You'll be his wife, not mine.
Sami: We've been over this.
Lucas: Yeah, we have, a million times. And I told you, I keep telling you, if you do this, our future is over forever.
Stefano: You look absolutely splendid, you know. You are confident and powerful. In so many ways, you look just like your grandfather. I cannot tell you how proud he would be of you and how proud I am, huh?
E.J.: Thank you. It's one of the happiest days of my life.
Stefano: You know something? It is a great day for all the DiMeras. At last we have ensured our future in the next generation. But remember something, my son -- this is a very serious responsibility that falls on your shoulders now.
E.J.: I know, Father, okay? I'm not gonna let you down. I'm gonna raise a son who's gonna be worthy of the name and the empire he's going to inherit.
Stefano: And you cannot let Samantha interfere in any way.
E.J.: Don't worry. She won’t. It's fine.
Stefano: No. I'll see to it.
Kate: Damn you. Damn both of you!
Stefano: Kate --
Kate: You betrayed me -- you and your lying son. Why would you tell Lucas that the attempt on my life was staged? You swore to me he wouldn't find out.
E.J.: Can we do this later? I really don't have time right now.
Kate: You make time.
Hope: Roman, um, come here. Just hear us out, all right? Have a seat and take a deep breath and just listen to what we have to say.
Bo: Losing your temper is not gonna help.
Roman: Really? How can keeping that scum from marrying my daughter ever be a mistake?
Hope: Because it is a mistake if you think it is possible to force Sami to do anything she doesn't want to do.
Bo: She'll just dig in her heels. You know that better than anyone.
Roman: Yeah, what about the DiMeras? They're forcing her to marry E.J.
Kayla: Not literally. They're just manipulating her to get her to do what they want.
Hope: Roman, she is convinced in her heart that she is doing something noble, even heroic to make up for all the wrongs of the past.
Roman: She's got nothing to make up for. Doesn't she know that? Hell, we forgave her a long time ago. We love her.
Bo: That's true, but she still feels guilty.
Hope: You see, Roman, Sami has always felt that she never quite measured up to Carrie and Belle. And she feels this is her way to show that she does.
Roman: All right. Tell me this then -- how do we convince her that's not the case? We have tried every argument in the book.
Kayla: Listen, we have to let her know that choosing E.J., she'll be shutting out the very family that she's trying to protect. She'll be pushing us all away.
Bo: I think that's good. But there's only one person who can sell it -- the one person whose love and acceptance she's always been desperate for.
Roman: All right. All right. I'll try. Oh, hell, I'll try anything. But I'll tell you what -- if this doesn't work, I'm going to plan "B."
Steve: Hauling her out by her ear?
Roman: No. Shooting E.J. dead.
E.J.: Whoa. Easy, Kate. No need to go off the deep end.
Stefano: Let's discuss this, all right? Good God, woman! Are you out of your mind?
Kate: We had a deal! We had a deal, and I played my part. I lied to my son. I played the would-be target to the hilt, Stefano.
E.J.: Stellar performance it was, as well, darling. You should have seen her, convincing Lucas we were still a threat. By the way, I thought you'd be happy, darling. Didn't he just divorce Samantha?
Kate: Happy? Happy that you stabbed me in the back? Happy that he thinks that I set up the whole thing? Now he thinks it was just a plan so I could break up him and his wife.
Stefano: Ex-wife.
Kate: God. And you -- I trusted you.
Stefano: Kate, I did not tell the boy on purpose. I would not betray you.
Kate: Oh, okay. Great. Was it an accident?
Stefano: When Lucas accused me of trying to have you gunned down, I defended myself by telling him the truth. I had no idea that you and Elvis had faked a shooting, all right? I would never do anything to harm you, much less having you shot at. It's incredible. By the way, Lucas saw the truth of it immediately.
Kate: You are not off the hook. And don't bother to lie because I was there when Lucas called you.
E.J.: Just wait a second. Your son told me that you had already admitted to everything. What was I supposed to do? It didn't exactly seem like a lot of point in denying it.
Kate: [Exhales sharply] He tricked you, imbecile.
Stefano: [Laughs] Well, I guess your son is more clever than we knew. Perhaps that's the reason why it's been so difficult to separate him from Samantha, which, of course, is exactly what we had done. So, you see, in time...
Kate: In time? In time and in the end, he hates me, when I thought that we had a chance to work things out.
E.J.: Please. [Laughs] With your son, there's always another chance. He banishes you from his life one second just to welcome you back with open arms the next.
Kate: No. This time is different because he's lost Sami forever. And he blames me and for good reason.
Stefano: You know, not to worry, Kate, my dear, because Elvis is right. The bonds between a mother and her son are very difficult to break.
Sami: I got the bottles all ready for you. You, um, just have to warm them up.
Lucas: No problem.
Sami: Remember to check to make sure they're not too hot, and don't forget to burp them after they drink.
Lucas: I know. We'll be fine.
Sami: So, you're not gonna say anything to me before I go?
Lucas: Well, I don't know. What do you want me to say? "Have a nice life. See you around the building"?
Sami: Will. Where have you been?
Will: Over at Ryan's. I thought you'd be gone by now.
Sami: No, I was just about to leave.
Will: So, you're really doing this? You're really gonna go be with that criminal?
Sami: I thought you were okay with it. I thought you understood.
Will: Yeah, well, I changed my mind.
Lucas: Look, she's not doing this because she wants to. She's doing this for us and the twins and for the Brady’s.
Will: I get that. And maybe that's the reason it seemed kind of cool at first, like mom was doing this really big, important thing. Then I woke up. There's nothing cool about it.
Sami: I don't have a choice.
Will: The vendetta, right?
Sami: The vendetta has cost people their lives, people that we love. And this is the only way to end it.
Will: According to some dead guy who's been obsessed with some nun for 50 years.
Sami: This is not about them. This is about Stefano DiMera, who is very much alive and very much willing to hurt our family unless I marry E.J.
Will: That's whacked.
Sami: We are going to be together again soon.
Will: But in the meantime, you're stuck with the guy who raped you and we're just supposed to stand by and watch?
Lucas: That's enough. Come on, now. Don't give your mother any grief.
Will: I'm sorry. I just can't take this. This is too messed up.
Lucas: Will, that's enough.
Will: Don't worry. I'm out of here. I'm going.
Sami: What do you mean out of here?
Will: I want to go back, live with Aunt Carrie and Uncle Austin.
Sami: But you just got home.
Will: I can't stay here.
Sami: Will, I love you.
Will: I love you, too, Mom, which is why I can't stand seeing you being with that guy.
Lucas: We'll talk about it another time.
Sami: Yeah. Um... your dad is right. I have to go.
Will: Yeah. Don't want to keep E.J. waiting.
Sami: We'll talk about this after, okay?
Will: After will be too late.
Sami: Will.
[Door closes]
Sami: What happened? I thought he understood.
Lucas: Yeah, so did I. He's young, you know. It's gonna take him some time to figure out what all this means.
Sami: Thank you for defending me.
Lucas: Nothing's changed. I just didn't want him to freak out.
Sami: He did anyway.
Lucas: He's just hurt, that's all.
Sami: Well, I'll talk to him about it after. I'll make him understand. Maybe you could just convince him not to leave, okay?
Lucas: No, I don't think so. I think he should go. I think he should be with Carrie and Austin right now. They have a stable family, two parents.
Sami: Lucas, I am doing this for Will, too, so that he can stay here with us and be safe.
Lucas: We don't even know if he will be.
Sami: But... I have to at least try. I, um...I have to go.
Lucas: Sami... please don’t. Please.
Sami: I'm sorry. Sirens ---

E.J.: Oh! Time! I got to get to the church.
Stefano: Yes, my boy, you must not keep your bride waiting, all right? And I will be right there directly.
E.J.: I can't believe this is happening. In just a few hours, she is gonna be mine.
Stefano: You made it happen. And remember that Samantha is lucky to have you, even if she doesn't know that now.
E.J.: She's gonna feel that way one day, okay? I want her to be as happy as I am right now.
Stefano: [Chuckles] She will be. Go on. Go ahead, huh? I'll be there soon.
E.J.: Okay. Hey, don't be late.
Stefano: I would not even think of such a thing.
Kate: Excuse me. Haven't you forgotten something?
E.J.: Uh...yes. You're obviously welcome to come, darling. I'd be delighted.
Kate: I meant the gun. I want it back.
E.J.: You know, I think I'm gonna hang on to that if it's all the same with you.
Kate: No need, I assure you. You explained yourself. I'm feeling so much calmer.
E.J.: [Laughs]
Stefano: Give it to her.
E.J.: Okay. Just to be on the safe side. You understand. There we are. Now, do me a favor, darling. Don't go running around with loaded guns. Somebody's liable to get hurt.
Kate: I'll remember that.
E.J.: Good. And for God's sake, cheer up, okay? You're not losing a daughter-in-law. You're gaining a son.
Kate: Well, he's right about that. I finally have what I wanted. Sami's out of Lucas' life. And I can't enjoy it.
Stefano: Ah. But you will, my dear, trust me. See, when Lucas realizes that this marriage is real, hmm, and that Samantha has loved Elvis all along, he'll see how foolish he's been.
Kate: My son is no one's fool.
Stefano: The point is he will realize that you have been right about her right from the beginning and that everything that you have done for him has been out of love for him, all right, and certainly concern for his happiness.
Kate: That's the truth, Stefano.
Stefano: But you have to be smart to let him figure out for himself.
Kate: And in the meantime?
Stefano: [Sighs] Today is bound to be one of the darkest days in his life. So some sincere show of sympathy would go a long way in healing the wounds.
Sami: Well, God, you're probably not super happy with me right now. The, um, sacrament of marriage is blessed, and I'm not exactly honoring that right now. But I don't know what else to do. I mean... I want to end this vendetta. And I want my family to not be in pain. I want to end the suffering. I don't want anyone else to die like John. And I don't want anyone else to suffer like my mom is now without him. But how do I walk away from Lucas and Will? I mean, what if they're right? What if he's right and the twins end up being raised apart? What if I'm causing more harm than good? How do I know I'm doing the right thing?
Colleen: I think you already know the answer to that.
Sami: No. I don’t. I am more confused than ever.
Colleen: Then it's the wrong question to be asking. Not what are you doing but why.
Sami: No. Listen to me. I am not doing this because I want to be with E.J., so stop saying that.
Colleen: Not in the least?
Sami: Just because you were in love with some man who deceived you doesn't mean that I am.
Colleen: 'Tis certain I never fooled meself into thinking I wanted him for some saintly reason. I loved Santo because with him I could be who I truly was. And, if you'll be knowing, I was far from a saint. Santo saw the truth when I was denying it every hour of the day. He accepted the real me, and he loved me and desired me not in spite of it but because of it. That was my undoing, just as it will be for you.
Sami: My marriage to E.J. is an arrangement. My heart belongs to Lucas.
Colleen: Your heart, perhaps, but the rest of you will be living with E.J., raising a son, sharing a life. 'Tis bound to happen one dark night when the rain's pounding hard on the windows and the power is gone. You'll be hearing things that affright your mind and seeing things that aren't there. And all of a sudden, you'll find yourself in his room.
Sami: No. Never.
Colleen: Face your darkest and deepest desires. You can only deny what you are for so long.
Sami: Just stop it! I don't want to hear anymore, all right? Just shut up!
E.J.: Samantha? It's me. You okay? Who are you talking to?
Sami: No one. I wasn't talking to anyone.
Steve: I got an idea. Let's deport him. I mean, Italy is the one that sent Stefano here. Let Italy take him and his spawn back. Then Sami stays with Lucas, the Brady’s are happy again.
Kayla: If only it could be that simple. That's not the solution, is it?
Bo: No, you're not the first person to think of that. They're all here legally, so we've got no grounds to deport them.
Steve: Hey, man, they're murderers.
Hope: Among other things.
Bo: We have yet to prove any of that.
Hope: Look, our only hope is to get Sami to change her mind.
Steve: All right, let's get going. Let's do it.
Bo: Hold on, Roman. You're making everyone nervous when you talk about shooting Wells.
Roman: I'm sure as hell not joking about it. Let's hope it doesn't come to that, huh? I'll be along in a second.
Bo: Yeah.
Roman: Promise.
E.J.: You look beautiful, by the way. You know, in Spain, the brides wear black as a symbol of their devotion until death.
Sami: It's a good thing we're not in Spain then.
E.J.: Well, regardless, I'm glad you're here in whatever color. I wasn't sure you were going to make it.
Sami: I didn't have a choice.
E.J.: I am sorry, you know. I know this is difficult for you.
Sami: Don't try to pretend like you care or understand.
E.J.: I'm not pretending. I know that you love Lucas. You know, you are free to return to him even now. I won't stop you.
Sami: As soon as my family is safe, there's nothing you could do to stop me. For right now, let's do this.
[Knock on door]
Lucas: What do you want?
Kate: I came over to apologize.
Lucas: Apologize?
Kate: Yes. I think because of today that we should put our differences aside. I know that you're hurt, and, um...
Lucas: Apology not accepted.
Kate: Come on. Please. I'm asking you to forgive me.
Lucas: I have a million times, but no more.
Kate: There has to be something that -- there has to be something that I can do to make it up to you -- anything.
Lucas: Anything?
Kate: You name it.
Lucas: Stop the wedding. Stop Sami from marrying E.J.
E.J.: I mean it, Samantha. If you don't want to do this, then I'm not gonna force you. Go home.
Sami: I don't know what to do.
E.J.: Look... I know this is not as you had wanted, and I know this is difficult.
Sami: I just need air.
Roman: Sami, we need to talk.
Kate: You're asking me to do the impossible.
Lucas: You said you'd do anything.
Kate: Sami's not gonna listen to me. She's never listened to me. She thinks she's doing this to save the Brady clan, Lucas.
Lucas: So talk to E.J. You're close.
Kate: No. No, we're not close. And E.J. thinks that his family's future depends on this marriage. So, you see, the whole thing would have happened. It would have happened with or without my involvement.
Lucas: But it happened with, didn't it?
Kate: Yes, it did, because I saw a chance to fix our relationship.
Lucas: This is it, Mom. This is the deal. You want me back in your life, you want to see your grandkids again, stop the damn wedding.
Sami: I don't have time for this.
Roman: Yeah, I know. I know. You're about to marry E.J. Well, forget that. It's not gonna happen.
Hope: We don't want to see you do this. You don't need to do this.
Bo: You think the DiMeras are gonna be less dangerous? Well, you're wrong. They'll think they've won. They'll be more dangerous.
Kayla: You can call it off. You still have time.
Steve: Sami, look, we're all here for you, baby. Now, if we stick together, they can't hurt any one of us.
Bo: We need you with us, Sami.
Roman: And if you won't call off this sham of a wedding for us, do it for your mom.
Hope: John's death put her right on the edge.
Steve: If you walk down that aisle, you'll regret it for the rest of your life.
Sami: I am doing this for her and for John. She'll understand.
Bo: No, Sami, she won’t. None of us will.
Hope: You think you're helping. You're not helping. Marrying E.J. resolves nothing.
Kayla: All it does is make the DiMeras think if they push hard enough, they'll get what they want.
Hope: Think of Lucas and Will. You can't just walk out of their lives.
Roman: And we won't let you, Sami.
Hope: No, we won't, because we love you. We love you very much.
Kayla: You belong with Lucas, the man that you love. You belong with your family.
Steve: If you walk down that aisle, you'll regret it for the rest of your life.
Roman: Leave with us now. Sami. Leave with us now.
Hope: Sami!
Kayla: Sami!
E.J.: No, no. She's here. You know, she's in the vestibule with her family.
Stefano: Why are you standing around here like this? You know that they are gonna try to talk her out of it.
E.J.: I'm sure they're gonna try and talk her out of it, Father, but they are not going to succeed. Trust me. Samantha and I are going to be married tonight.
Stefano: [Laughs] Well, you have the confidence of a DiMera. And it suits you. But are you sure?
E.J.: Samantha has staked everything on being the Brady's savior, all right? She will walk through fire before she gives that up.
Stefano: Qualities I hope she passes on to my grandson.
E.J.: Father, this has worked out perfectly, okay? I get to be there for her when she goes through this, okay? I get to be strong, sensitive -- everything that her family isn’t. And in time, I will win her trust.
Stefano: And her obedience.
E.J.: Of course. [Laughs] Of course.
Lucas: Babies look so cute sleeping. I love you so much... especially you, Johnny. You got a lot ahead of you. I promise I'll always be there for you -- for both of you and for Will and your mother. I will never let anybody split us apart. [Knock on door] Hopefully that is your babysitter and not your crazy grandmother -- crazy ex-grandmother. Yeah. Oh, good, it's you.
Emily: Hi.
Lucas: Hi, I'm Lucas Roberts -- I mean Horton. Lucas Horton. I'm in the process of changing my name legally.
Emily: You can call me Emily.
Lucas: Thanks for coming on such short notice.
Emily: Oh, I'm happy I could do it. They're adorable.
Lucas: Thank you. They've had their bottles, and they're out. I was just gonna move them into the bedroom.
Emily: Oh, I'll do it. Let me wash my hands first.
Lucas: Okay. Thanks. Just right through there.
Bo: Sami?
Sami: Thank you. I'm fine. I'm fine. Thank you.
Roman: Well, you're not fine. And we're not gonna leave you here alone till we get through to you.
Hope: It's obvious you cannot marry E.J. Honey, look at you. You're too upset.
Sami: I'm asking you -- I'm asking my family to support me in this. I want to know that you're all gonna be there for me.
Bo: We can't support you in this, not when we know you're making a terrible mistake.
Roman: Sami, you're gonna have to choose whether you're a DiMera or a Brady. You can't be both.
Sami: So you're saying that I'm doing this to help you and you're gonna turn your backs on me?
Roman: No. We just want you to think about what you're doing and realize the consequences.
Hope: And we'll stay here all night if that's what it takes to stop you.
Sami: You're wasting your time. My mind is made up.
Roman: All right. Now, I'm gonna ask this one more time. Please choose us. Trust us. Choose your family.
Sami: Daddy, this isn't about a choice.
Roman: It's exactly about a choice.
Sami: Then I choose E.J. I'm marrying him, and no one is stopping me.
Sami: I must look like a mess.
E.J.: No, you look beautiful.
Sami: Well, I need to get ready. [Door slams]
Bo: Hey, Roman. We did our best.
Roman: And now it's up to me.
Kayla: Roman, I'm sorry.
Roman: You did the best you could. I appreciate your effort.
Kayla: We're gonna get through this some way.
Steve: She's right. It's not over, my friend.
Roman: Damn right it's not.
Bo: Hey, hey, hey. That's not gonna help. Why don't you go home?
Roman: How is that gonna help, Bo?
Bo: Marlena needs you. So does Will, those two grandkids. Sami's counting on you.
Roman: Yeah? Well, I won't let her down, not any of them.
Bo: I'd like you to give me your weapon.
Steve: I'll see you at home, baby. I got a few stops to make.
Kayla: One of those stops wouldn't be the church, would it?
Steve: Oh, come on, sweetness. Don't worry. I just got back to normal with the woman I love. I wouldn't risk that for anything.
Kayla: This is out of our hands now.
Steve: That's right. We did the best we could. I'll see you at home.
Roman: Wait a minute. You want my gun?
Bo: You taught me well. When people's emotions are running high, sometimes they lose their heads.
Roman: All right. Okay, little brother. If it will make you feel better. Knock yourself out.
Bo: Thanks.
Hope: Thank you for doing that. I've never seen Roman like this.
Bo: Me neither. He's really on the edge.
Stefano: The flowers are beautiful, aren't they?
E.J.: You got the rings?
Stefano: Huh?
E.J.: You got the rings?
Stefano: Yes, I have the rings.
E.J.: No, you don’t.
Stefano: What is it?
E.J.: Who's the lady in black?
Stefano: What about her? In Italy, you go to any church, you're gonna find a woman all in black, praying hour after hour after hour. What you have to worry about -- not her but your bride. Where is she?
E.J.: She's gonna be here. She's just fixing her face.
Stefano: You should not have let her go, all right? Because you know the Brady’s. They don't give up that easily.
E.J.: Father, she will be here. Okay?
Stefano: [Sighs]
E.J.: Now, where did she go? The woman in black -- where did she go?
Stefano: Good riddance.
["Bridal chorus" plays]
E.J.: You see?
Bo: Your Uncle Roman is taking a personal day.
Shawn D.: He's not going to the wedding?
Bo: I'd fear for Junior's life if he did.
Fr. Kelly: Do you take Elvis to be your husband for better or worse, to love and to cherish until death do you part? You may kiss the bride.
