Rawlings: Unh-unh. Unh-unh-unh. Sit down, girls. It looks like you were planning on taking my girls on a little field trip there, Max. But I didn't get my invitation.

Max: Oh, that's 'cause you weren't invited.

Stephanie: You noticed his gun, right?

Max: Mm-hmm. Hey, where do you think you're going?

Rawlings: I'm taking her up. What do you think?

Max: I think that you're not taking control of this plane. That's what I think.

Chelsea: Jett, open your eyes, okay? Your eyes -- open them. Don't you dare die on me. Jett, I'm here, okay? I'm not going anywhere.

Person: Miss, the ambulance is on the way.

Chelsea: Jett, you're gonna be okay. Stay with me, please.

Lucas: What the hell happened in here?

Sami: Nothing.

Lucas: It doesn't look like nothing. You got flowers all over the place. Someone's got to pick this up.

Sami: I'm sorry. All right? I'm sorry. I was frustrated. How's Kate?

Lucas: You know my mom -- her usual mess. She's having a little trouble with her elevator. Like, when she opens it, it's not there. She's got an empty elevator shaft. Of course, the manager said it's been acting kind of funky, but you know my mom. She thinks it's because she sent us to meet André at the health club. She thinks he's looking for revenge, so I called your dad to make sure she was safe. He can keep an eye on her that way. Yo. Hello? You even listening to me?

Sami: God, what do you want?

Lucas: What's the matter with you? You're acting weird. Where were you?

Sami: I was just thinking about...

Lucas: About what?

Sami: Nothing.

Lucas: Nothing, huh?

Dr. Rolf: Well, we should be heading home shortly.

E.J.: You are looking very strong, Father.

Stefano: Strong? [Chuckles] [Inhales, exhales deeply] How else should I be? Elvis, give me your hand. Tony, give me your hand. Give me your hand.

Tony: Forgive me.

Stefano: [Exhales deeply] We must... forgive one another. In our time... we all die alone. Huh? But...it is great comfort to have you both here by my side for me. We have been through a lot... but family -- family conquers all, yes?

E.J.: No, Father. I, uh, I believe it's love that conquers all. Wouldn't you agree, Tony?

Tony: Even the sins of the past, so they say.

Doctor: Excuse me, sir. Sir!

Steve: Huh? Oh. Oh. Sorry. Yeah. I'm just checking on a friend -- Stefano DiMera. Had a liver transplant. Yeah, that's serious stuff, huh?

Doctor: Yeah.

Steve: So, I hear he might go home today. Is that true?

Doctor: I'm sorry. I can't discuss patients with anyone but a family member.

Steve: Oh, yeah. That makes sense. Okay. Don't work too hard. Yeah. [Sighs] Well, Stefano, my man. I can't let you go home without saying goodbye.

Rawlings: Oh. Big man says he's gonna stop me from taking off. What am I gonna do?

Max: What you're not gonna do is take the plane. Let's see what the cops have to say about all this, huh?

Stephanie: Stop it! You bastard! What are you doing?! Are you okay?

Rawlings: Behave, Brady. I got a plane to fly. [Gun cocks] Any other objections?

Sami: My mind is a total blank.

Lucas: I know you. I know when you get that look.

Sami: What look?

Lucas: Okay. Fine. Forget it, all right? Forget it.

Sami: I was thinking about Santo and Colleen before.

Lucas: Before?

Sami: Yeah, you know, before I spaced out.

Lucas: Oh. Let's read the letters, okay? Scoot over. Cozy up. I want to read them just like you wanted to.

Sami: I have to confess. Lucas, I read them while you were gone.

Lucas: That's not fair. You couldn't possibly have enjoyed them without my running commentary. Come on.

Sami: Well, there really actually wasn't that much to enjoy, because, um, they're getting kind of sad, actually.

Lucas: Oh. All right. So it's definitely more reason not to read them by yourself. I don't want my little baby getting all sad by herself, you know?

Sami: Lucas, I actually wasn't by myself.

Lucas: Really? Who'd you read them with?

Sami: E.J.

Lucas: He came back. [Scoffs] He came back. So, you read the letters with E.J.

Sami: Look, he saw the letters, and he was insisting on reading them, and I just thought it was easier to read them and get him out of here, so I-I did, and then he left. Nothing happened. We were just reading letters.

Lucas: Okay. All right. Anything steamy happen between Santo and Colleen?

Sami: You might say that.

Lucas: Did Santo get what he wanted?

Sami: At the Inn. Yeah.

Lucas: Why are you so sad? I think we both saw that coming, right?

Sami: I'm sad for Colleen. She had given her life to the church -- to God -- and she was happy with that, or, you know, she had at least made her peace with that. And then in comes this guy that can see into soul or whatever, and she, uh, had her whole world turned upside down. And he was so attracted to her that he couldn't seem to stop pursuing her, and -- and the two of them -- I mean, the temptation just... why are you looking at me like that?

Lucas: I'm sorry. I just -- I got to ask you.

Sami: Ask me what?

Lucas: Are we talking about Santo and Colleen... or E.J. and you?

Dr. Rolf: I will have your father's room ready. Ride in the ambulance, yeah? Keep him quiet. No stress.

Stefano: Oh, listen to him. Once I'm in my own bed, there will be no stress. God knows I hate hospitals.

Guy: Mr. Stefano DiMera?

E.J.: Yes.

Guy: All set to roll, sir?

Stefano: Please.

Guy: Give us some room, guys?

Tony: Sure. E.J.?

Bo: You ready for this?

Roman: For 20 years, man. For 20 years. Let's go. All right. Salem P.D. we need to talk to the patient here alone.

Stefano: What the hell is this?

E.J.: Roman, please. We're taking him home. You can talk to him then.

Roman: No. I think we're gonna talk to him right here.

Bo: It's just a matter of time before we have the proof that André sliced out a piece of liver from your son Benjy, just to extend your life a little.

Stefano: I'll tell you what -- when you have the proof, then call my lawyer.

Roman: You know what? You're gonna need a whole bunch of lawyers once we put that big, old butt in a cell with your psychopath nephew.

E.J.: You just wait a second.

Bo: Take it easy. It's okay. Shh. Shh. It's all right. This isn't why we're here. We're here to make sure your father makes it home in one piece.

Tony: A police escort?

Bo: Yes. He needs our protection. Maybe you haven't heard. He's got a few enemies out there.

Stefano: Oh, my God. If my survival depends on the Salem Police, I might as well slit my wrists now.

Roman: Don't let me stop you.

Bo: It's our job to protect the public, even public like yourself.

Steve: Well, looky here. If it isn't a Brady/DiMera lovefest.

Roman: Steve, back off. You cause any trouble, I'm gonna have to arrest you.

Steve: Don't you worry about it, cop. I'm cool.

Roman: You better be cool.

Steve: I'm cool. Hey, Stefano. I hear you're going home already, dude. [Chuckling] Oh, man. Good for you. I got to hand it to you, man. You are one tough SOB yes, you are. You know what you are? You're the Phoenix. You're the Phoenix. You keep going down in flames and rising up out of those ashes over and over again, man. You're the man.

Stephanie: You okay?

Max: Yeah. Yeah. The police are onto you and your little operation. You think kidnapping these girls again is gonna help your case?

Rawlings: Right.

Max: How you gonna keep the gun on all of us while you're flying the plane? Check out the odds.

Rawlings: Whoa. You know, I didn't think about that, Max.

Max: You think while I get these girls off the plane. Come on. Let's go.

Rawlings: You think I'm gonna let you walk? Sit down. You're not going anywhere.

Stephanie: Oh, really?

Rawlings: Yeah, really.

Max: Uhh! You want to play rough?! Let's go!

Rawlings: Don't -- don't make me use this, 'cause I'd sure hate to get blood all over my new ride.

Max: You sold these girls, Rawlings. You lied to them, and you put them into so-called escort services. Well, no more.

Rawlings: "No more." [Chuckles] Ladies, why don't you show Max how upset you really are with me? I call them my angels -- Rawlings' Angels. You know why? 'Cause they look like heaven. They know how to make a man feel like he's in paradise. But when the archangel -- me -- gets PO'd... [Guns cock] ...They sure know how to raise hell on a dime.

Chelsea: God, where is that damn ambulance? Jett, I'm right here, okay? I'm right here. I'm not going anywhere. Don't worry, okay?

Officer: Miss Brady, I'm Agent Tashall. Emergency services are almost here. Carver...

Chelsea: Look, don't make him talk, okay? You guys got the shooter, right? You have him in custody?

Officer: Not yet, but we will. EMS is on the way. They should be here any second. I’m gonna go back up to the front and tell them exactly where to find you. Okay. All right.

Chelsea: You hear that, Jett? You hear that? The ambulance is on the way. They're gonna be here any minute, okay? Then they're gonna -- they're gonna take you back to -- oh, my God. Your hands are getting cold. Oh, my God. He's going into shock! Somebody, do something!

Tony: Well, thank you for your assessment, Steve, but -- do you mind -- can we get on with it? I don't want my father tired out.

Roman: Steve, I'm warning you.

Steve: I'm serious, man. You impress the hell out of me. I mean, you think Tony or E.J. here is as tough as you? Hell, no.

Stefano: Steven...

Steve: Yeah, boss? I'm here. Whatever you need.

E.J.: What he needs is rest. Father, you don't need to talk to this man. Come on.

Stefano: It's all right, Elvis. Let's hear what the man has to say.

Bo: Make it quick.

Steve: Now, we -- we have a long history, don't we, Stefano? Some good, some bad.

Stefano: You were a good soldier, Steven -- occasionally, anyway. Of course, it happens sometimes. You -- you're confused from time to time.

Steve: I do. Yeah. I do. But I'm not confused now. The reason I'm here is I want to apologize to you for what happened before the surgery.

Stefano: Well, you were very upset.

Steve: Yeah, I was. I was. You see, Benjy and I -- we're pretty close. I've known him since he's a little kid. I didn't like seeing him get cut open for a piece of his liver. Well, I lost it.

Stefano: Oh, I understand. You know, Benjy and I -- he is my son. But I promise you -- I had no idea that he would be hurt in any way.

Steve: Yeah, see? I realized that. I knew you could never hurt your own son... because family is everything for you, isn't it?

Stefano: Yes. Family is the most important thing to me. I mean, there is nothing more important to me than the DiMera name.

E.J.: Please.

Stefano: No. It's all right.

Steve: This thing with Benjy -- you know what I'm figuring. I think it's André going solo. I mean, he's always been reckless, right?

Stefano: Well, I don't want to speculate on that.

Steve: No. No. That's right. Innocent till -- you know, all that good stuff.

Bo: Could we wrap this up? We got to get going here.

Steve: I just want to wish Stefano a speedy recovery. No hard feelings, huh, boss? Huh? Could we shake on it?

Sami: That is a horrible thing to say.

Lucas: Sorry. Had to ask.

Sami: Well, stop it. I came right out and told you that E.J. was here. I'm not trying to hide anything. You asked me about Santo and Colleen, and I answered you, so stop trying to twist it around. Those letters don't have anything to do with me or E.J.

Lucas: Nothing? Nothing, even when you look exactly like that -- that -- I come in here, this place is a mess, and I find my wife lost in her own head somewhere? And then she tells me she's been reading love letters alone with the man who raped her. I think I have a right to ask some questions here, don't you?

Sami: Okay.

Lucas: Good. I drew a line for my mom already. Now it's time to draw one for E.J. Am I right, Sami, or am I right?

Sami: We can't. I need him. I need E.J. to end this vendetta once and for all.

Lucas: The vendetta -- there it is. I am so sick of that. You know what, honey? All that is, is an excuse. It's nothing but a lousy excuse.

Rawlings: Hey, you're looking a little bit shell-shocked, Max. A little post-traumatic thing or something?

Max: This is what I invested my money in. What's going on?

Rawlings: Okay. Fair enough. Want to know what you got for your money?

Max: Mm-hmm.

Rawlings: Ilsa -- Ilsa's the cream. The lightest fingers in town, not a moral in sight, and one heck of an actress.

Ilsa: I'm Meryl Streep of Bucharest.

Rawlings: Yeah. No one knows how to fleece a high roller like she does. Hey, why don't you show him how well you did -- just the last few hours' worth? We got six trunks full of that stuff down in cargo. Been that way every flight, Maxy, all summer long.

Max: You know, Jett Carver's onto you. You know who he works for?

Rawlings: The ISA. I know. I'm not too worried, though. [Ringing] What the hell's that?

Stephanie: It's me. It's a text message.

Rawlings: Be my guest.

Stephanie: It's from Chelsea. Oh, my God. Jett's been shot.

Rawlings: "Oh, my God." Like I said, not too worried about Jett Carver.

Max: You son of a --

Ilsa: Ladies...

Stephanie: Max. Let him go.

Max: Fine.

Rawlings: Here you go. Ilsa, grab her cellphone, please. Baby, grab Max's, too. Eyes open, angels. They so much as twitch, ventilate them. Now, I got to get us up, up, and away. Then we'll have some serious fun. Nothing like playing hero, huh, Max? [Women giggle]

Max: All right. Take it easy. So, you're not a sex slave, huh? And those tears in my brother's house -- I mean, how dumb could I be, right?

Ilsa: Just dumb enough.

Max: I should have minded my own business.

Rawlings: Captain Rawlings here. Angels, it's "fasten your seat belt" time.

Ilsa: All right, ladies. Seat belts. Sasha, come with me. We'll watch them.

Stephanie: What's next? What's our plan "B"?

Max: Our plan "B" is to pray.

Stephanie: [Scoffs]

Sami: After everything my family has been through, how could you call this vendetta an excuse?

Lucas: Because that's what it is. At least, that's what it's turned into -- a damn excuse. After everything Stefano's done to your family, that guy should fry right now, right? But no. E.J. just uses the feud as a pass to see you whenever he feels like it. All he's got to do is drop that vendetta card on the table, and he sails right in. Well, I've had it, okay? I'm sick of it. I'm done.

Sami: That is too bad, because I need him.

Lucas: You what? You -- you need him?

Sami: Lucas, listen to me. I don't need him as much as I need you.

Lucas: Hmm.

Sami: I do need him. I need him if we are ever gonna end this -- this vendetta.

Lucas: It doesn't matter. Stefano's gonna continue to haunt us. It doesn't matter. He's gonna do it until he's 6 feet under. Nobody can stop him.

Sami: We can -- E.J. and I can.

Lucas: Whoa, whoa, whoa. You and E.J.? You and E.J. can? That's what you said. What, are you a team now?

Sami: What do you want me to say? What do you want from me?

Lucas: Admit it. Admit it, whether you want to or not. You want E.J. around for a whole lot of other reasons, and nothing has to do with the damn vendetta. You want to know what I want, Sami? Take a guess. Take a wild guess.

Stefano: Steven, all I need is your loyalty.

Steve: Well, you got that, boss. I hope you know it.

Stefano: [Chuckles] You challenge my faith sometimes.

Steve: I know, man. I know. A little confusion sets in every now and then.

Roman: All right, Steve. You and Stefano can shoot the breeze at his place.

Steve: What's with these guys? They sure are pushy, aren't they?

Stefano: A real nuisance, if you want to know.

Bo: Just making sure you get home safe, old man.

Stefano: Oh. That's charming, Bo. It really is. But it's not necessary.

Steve: You heard the man. Why don't you two just take a hike, huh?

Tony: You're the one who should take a hike. Roman, get him out of here.

Roman: Time to go, Steve.

Steve: Okay. I'm out of here.

Stefano: Wait. Wait. Wait. Steven, come back. Come back. Come on. [Intercom beeps]

Nurse: Paging Dr. Stateman.

Stefano: You have been a good soldier, Steven, huh? So... we will talk. Huh?

Steve: Yeah. We will. This is for Benjy!

Max: I'm sorry for getting you into this.

Stephanie: Um, I think you've got that backwards. I'm the one who got you into this. I introduced you to Jeremy. If anybody's to blame, it's me.

Max: Come on. It's --

Stephanie: God, what was I thinking? I actually believed that Jeremy loved me. And to be honest, I still really want to believe that it's the truth. But the truth is, the minute he had to choose, he didn't hesitate. He turned his back, and he ran.

Max: It's not your fault, Steph.

Stephanie: What do you think he's gonna do with us?

Max: I wish I knew.

Paramedics: Okay, folks. Let's make some room here. Okay, where's the wound?

Chelsea: In his back. I think it punctured a lung. He's having trouble breathing.

Paramedics: All right. You did good. We'll take it from here.

Chelsea: Stephanie, it's me. Didn't you get my text? Please call me back when you get this.

Jett: [Grunts]

Chelsea: Jett, I'm right here, okay? I'm not gonna go anywhere.

Jett: [Moaning]

Paramedics: All right, people. Out the way. Move it.

Roman: Steve! Get off of him! Get off of him, Steve! What the hell -- get the guy down!

Bo: Get him down!

E.J.: Get him down! Get him down! You got him? Got him?

Steve: Too tight. Ow. Ow.

Tony: Somebody, help us, please! Anyone! Stefano, say something. He stopped breathing.

E.J.: Father, father. Pulse. Pulse. Father -- get a doctor! Father -- come here!

Tony: Come over!

E.J.: He's not breathing.

Steve: Too late, doc! He's going to hell! He's going straight to hell!

E.J.: Do something! Do something!

Doctor: I'm sorry.

Tony: What are you saying?

Doctor: I'm saying this man is dead.

E.J.: Get out of my way! Father! Father! No! Father, look at me! Look at me! Look at me!

Steve: [Laughing]

E.J.: You son of a bitch!

Max: Whatever he has planned, I will always protect you, Steph.

Stephanie: Maybe I don't want protection.

Max: Then what do you want?

Stephanie: To kick a few butts.

Rawlings: Okay, listen up. I got some good news and bad news. Which one you want first?

Stephanie: The good news.

Rawlings: Well, the good news is the autopilot's set for that sweet paradise you've all been dreaming about. [Women chuckling]

Stephanie: Then what's the bad news?

Rawlings: I'm glad you asked, cutie. Turns out this flight's over booked.

Max: Over booked?

Rawlings: I mean, somebody's got to go.

Jett: [Groans, coughs] [Engine revving, siren wailing] Chelsea.

Chelsea: Just rest, okay? Just save your strength.

Jett: There's something –

Chelsea: What? What? Something what?

Jett: Chelsea Brady... I want to tell you before... I die.

Chelsea: You are not gonna die.

Lucas: What's the matter, huh? Brit got your tongue?

Sami: Believe me, I have a lot to say right now, but I don't want to say it, because I don't want to say something I'll regret. Our marriage means too much to me.

Lucas: Prove it to me.

Sami: Damn it, Lucas! How could you think for one second that I would use this vendetta to spend time with E.J.? I am your wife, I am a mother, and I am a daughter. And the misery that the DiMeras have caused my family for so many years has just done --

Lucas: Sami --

Sami: Don't.

Lucas: Look, I don't want to fight with you.

Sami: Lucas...we have to have this out. We have --

Nurse: Excuse me. There's been a police emergency. We're just asking everyone to please stay in your rooms.

Lucas: Hang on. I'm gonna check this out.

Sami: Lucas, where are you going? Lucas --

Lucas: Stay there, all right? I won't be long. [Door closes]

Tony: What do you mean, he's dead? Get him to surgery. Do something.

Doctor: All of these wounds in the upper chest -- more than one has to have pierced the heart.

E.J.: No, he can't be dead. Father, look at me. Open your eyes, father. Father, look at me, please.

Steve: I guess he's stolen his last organ.

Bo: Shut up, man. Roman, go.

Tony: I want him behind bars forever! Do you hear me, Roman?!

Bo: Don't worry about it, DiMera. We've got it taken care of.

Tony: Oh, please. Steven Johnson's part of your family -- one of your allies. I'm telling you, Brady, you're gonna pay for it. I want justice. I want him punished.

Bo: Steve is the way he is because of your father. You really want to talk about justice? This is a crime scene. Look this floor down.

Officer: Yes, sir.

Tony: E.J., please. Listen -- listen to me.

E.J.: No! No! No! No! He can't be dead. No! No! No! No! Don't!

Tony: The police have got to do their work.

Lucas: It finally happened. He's finally dead.

Tony: Lucas.

Lucas: Tony.

Tony: Enjoying the show?

Lucas: The nurse said there was a police emergency.

Tony: Yes. Steve Johnson stabbed my father.

Lucas: I'm sorry.

Tony: It's so nice of the Bradys to pass on their dirty work -- someone related by marriage, still part of the family, but with a history of mental disturbance. Hmm. It's impressive. [Exhales deeply] E.J., I'm gonna be inside the room.

E.J.: [Sniffles] You still here, Lucas?

Lucas: I just want to offer my condolences. I'm sorry.

E.J.: [Sighs] Like hell you're sorry. You're not sorry at all.

Lucas: You know, you're right. I'm not. I'm glad Stefano's gone. He's been shoving this damn vendetta down our throats for over 20 years. So he's finished, and so is this feud. And you know what? You can't come near Sami anymore. You got that? You're out of excuses. The last one's laid out on this gurney. Don't ever come near Sami again. Do you understand me? Is that clear?

Chelsea: Listen to me, Jett. You're gonna be fine, okay? You're going to the hospital. You're gonna make it.

Jett: [Breathing heavily] Look, just let me say this before --

Chelsea: The worst part is over, right? We're both gonna be back in Salem before you know it.

Jett: Come closer, Chelsea. Come close so you can hear. I love you, Chelsea. I love you.

Rawlings: Really nice of you guys to both volunteer.

Stephanie: What do you mean, "volunteer"?

Rawlings: Oh, I mean volunteer to deplane.

Stephanie: Now?

Max: Who are you kidding? There is a flight plan filed for this aircraft, so they're tracking this plane. When we don't show up in Salem --

Rawlings: Right. Good thinking, Maxy. You know, you're always two beats behind, but at least your brain's working. [Chuckles] I already called it in. They already approved the revised plan. "Last minute change, captain? No problem."

Max: When they refile it, they will check it.

Rawlings: Yeah, of course they will. Only with all the new regulations, there's lots of delays these days. So by the time they start backtracking, me and my angels will be sipping Dom, watching breezes blow sweet through the palm trees. [Women chuckle]

Max: Yeah. Keep laughing, comrades. This guy will be kicking back at some tropical bar somewhere while you guys are behind bars, wondering what the hell happened.

Ilsa: Stop making this foolish noise.

Rawlings: Oh, I guess the ladies are tired of hearing you talking trash. And since it's no fun for me doing all the talking -- excuse me, baby. It's about time to put the trash out. One for you. One for you. But it's been real, real, real doing business with you, Mr. Brady. Hope you enjoyed your ride with us today. It's our pleasure to have you drop by. But now it's your turn to touch the sky.

Max: What the hell are those for?

Stephanie: There's no way I'm putting that on.

Rawlings: Oh, I'm just saying you're gonna hit a lot harder without it. Oh, come on. You guys loved Vegas. What are the odds you live if you don't strap the chute on before stepping out into the starry night?

Max: Look, Rawlings, it's pitch black out there. We don't know where we are. We don't know where we're gonna land.

Rawlings: Yeah, but where you land is the least of your troubles. It's how you land. But whatever. If I were you, I'd put the chute on...while you still can.

Chelsea: Jett -- Jett, answer me. Did you -- did you just say what I think you said?

Jett: Hey.

Chelsea: Yeah. You've lost so much blood you probably don't know what you're saying.

Jett: No.

Chelsea: No?

Jett: No. I said it, and I meant it.

Tony: [Sighs] It's so hard to believe he's gone.

E.J.: I don't believe it.

Tony: Well -- hmm. For all that you did this year to extend his life, it's -- it's understandable.

E.J.: It's not what I mean. Father's died many, many times. So many. Why should this time be any different? He's the Phoenix. He will rise again, as he always has.

Tony: In our dreams, perhaps.

E.J.: No. Upright... walking... blood pumping.

Tony: Not this time, brother. I'm sorry... but not this time.

Bo: Armstrong, what's your take?

Armstrong: A dozen stabs, upper chest. Couldn't have missed the heart. We'll know more when we post him.

Bo: Yeah. Thanks. Hmm.

Lucas: Hey, beautiful. I got some good news. Ding-dong. The witch is dead.

Sami: Lucas, what was happening out there? What was all that noise?

Lucas: I got something I want to tell you. He's dead.

Sami: Who's dead?

Lucas: Stefano is dead. He's gone. The vendetta's over. It's over. You and your family are safe now, and, best of all, you never have to see Elvis Wells, Jr. again in your whole life.
