Chelsea: There's nothing to be afraid of, okay? Max and Jeremy -- they're gonna get you away from this whole mess. I promise. Really, it'll be okay. You can trust them. All right? I'll be right back.

Max: That's totally fine. I don't -- we'll be there in a little while. All right, thanks.

Chelsea: Everything all set?

Max: Just about. The girls ready to go?

Chelsea: Yeah, but I'm not really sure that they trust this whole operation-rescue thing.

Max: Who can blame them? The last person who told them to get on a plane and said they were going to a happier place was André DiMera, and he ended up selling them into prostitution.

Chelsea: I'd be scared, too.

Max: I can't believe I didn't know what was going on.

Chelsea: How could you have? Jeremy didn't even know about the prostitution part.

Max: Are you sure Stephanie can get him to do the right thing? Because there's no chance of us getting them to safety if he's not flying the plane.

Chelsea: She said if he's determined to bail, she'd go with him, but only if he waited until we flew the girls out.

Max: She's not really gonna go with him, though, right?

Chelsea: I'm not really sure, Max.

Max: I am not gonna let her go on the run with him, even if I physically have to stop her.

Chelsea: I'll help you if it comes to that, okay?

Max: We really owe Jett for giving us enough time to split with the girls.

Chelsea: He put his whole career on the line. Thank God it'll all be over tonight, right?

Max: Yeah, well, that's if the plan works.

Jett: When Rawlings shows up, I'm gonna go up to him. I'm gonna say Jeremy needs to talk to him. There's a problem with the cargo. Now, I'm gonna be meeting him over this way.

Officer: I think it's better if we had Jeremy in custody already.

Jett: I know, but we can't afford the chance that he might alert Rawlings somehow. So, pay attention. I'll head Rawlings over this way away from the casino floor. And that's when you come in. Intercept him right here. We take him out the back service entrance and then to a police car out the back. Done. Simple as that.

Officer: Yeah, let's hope so, for your sake.

Jett: Yeah, I know. But this is all gonna go like clockwork, right, gentlemen?

Stephanie: I can't believe you're really doing this.

Jeremy: I told you I was.

Stephanie: You swore you were coming to Vegas to clean up whatever mess you got yourself into, Jeremy, not run away.

Jeremy: I changed my mind. Max doesn't need me.

Stephanie: Max can't fly this plane.

Jeremy: He'll figure something out.

Stephanie: Jeremy, this is crazy. Would you please stop and think about this?

Jeremy: I have.

Stephanie: What can I say? What can I do to get you to stay here?

Jeremy: I got to do this, Steph.

Stephanie: Disappear forever, Jeremy? Leave your family and friends?

Jeremy: They don't give a damn about me.

Stephanie: Maybe if you gave them a chance.

Jeremy: Forget it, okay? I don't trust them, any of them. From here on out, it's just you and me. Stephanie, you are coming with me, aren't you?

Sami: We do not have a fate, at least not one that we share, any more than Colleen and Santo did.

E.J.: Oh, my God.

Sami: Stop it. Santo was manipulating the entire situation, just like you always do.

E.J.: You are just unwilling to accept the obvious, okay? No, listen to me, okay? Santo and Colleen were taken in hand by destiny, just as --

Sami: Give me a break. Santo and Mrs. Fitzpatrick -- they tricked a priest. Colleen had no choice but to return to that inn, to return to temptation.

E.J.: Okay, look, I'll agree with you -- she didn't have a choice. But it had nothing to do with Mrs. Fitzpatrick or the good father.

Sami: Oh, right. Like Colleen could say no to the kids.

E.J.: Well, look -- she could have made up an excuse. She could have told the truth and begged for forgiveness. She could have done a number of things, but she didn't do it. Why? Because she heart and her desires wouldn't let her. Her destiny wouldn't let her. Ergo her words to my grandfather. Where are we? All right. [Clears throat] "I knew it was wrong. It went counter to all I'd been taught and the path I have chosen, but still, there I was, standing outside your room after having run through the pouring rain like some sick, pathetic schoolgirl. I cursed the power you had over me."

Sami: [Scoffs]

E.J.: "I resolved there and then to turn away, run back to the church as fast as I could, and never leave its confines again, no matter what. But then you opened the door." [Thunder crashes] "And you smiled at me, and in that one smile, I knew that this was right."

Max: All right, the cars are here, ready to take the girls to the airport.

Chelsea: You're amazing. I'm gonna go tell them.

Max: Ilsa. The cars are here, so you and the other girls can head out. We'll meet you down there in a little bit.

Ilsa: We go now?

Max: Yeah. No more Vegas. No more Rawlings.

Ilsa: It's good. I am afraid if he come back -- Mr. Rawlings.

Max: No, no, no. He won't. You guys are safe. All right? And so are the other girls.

Ilsa: You are...hero, just like in movies, only for real.

Jett: My first priority -- scratch that -- my only priority is Rawlings.

Officer: And Horton.

Jett: Don't worry about Jeremy. I can take care of him.

Officer: You and Jer are old buddies, right? You really think you can bust your best friend?

Jett: I said I can handle it. Now, let's just do this.

Stephanie: Jeremy, fly those girls out first. Then I'll go with you.

Jeremy: No can do, babe. They'll be tracking that plane, and they'll be there when we touch down.

Stephanie: They'd know that you were trying to fix things. That would be in your favor.

Jeremy: Only 5 years in the slammer instead of 10. You with me or not?

Jeremy: Guess I'm on my own.

Stephanie: If you would just face the charges and explain what happened --

Jeremy: Explain what happened -- how I accidentally helped sell illegal aliens into sexual slavery. Yeah, I'm sure the authorities will understand.

Stephanie: At least they would protect you from the DiMeras. You could be on their hit list.

Jeremy: They'll never find me, either.

Stephanie: Fly the girls out, Jeremy.

Jeremy: I can't.

Stephanie: Jeremy, get back here! Jeremy!

E.J.: You see? Santo did not do anything wrong. Colleen came of her own accord. And once there, she knew that it was the right thing to do. She certainly didn't feel any shame.

Sami: [Scoffs] I find that very hard to believe. "You smiled at me, and in that one smile, I knew that this was right. But even then, I felt eaten alive with my guilt. I felt surely I would burn in hell for all eternity for my transgression." [Thunder crashes]

Santo: Colleen, you do not know how happy I am to see you. Colleen, you are soaking wet.

Colleen: The heavens themselves opened up tonight. I think it's a sign from God that what I'm doing is wrong, that my life is with the church.

Santo: Even if it is not the life you really want?

Colleen: Serving God, doing his work, is all I've ever wanted since I was a wee girl. 'Tis my calling... or so I thought.

Santo: Colleen, let me tell you something. For a long time, I thought that my calling was to my family, to a wife that was chosen for me.

Colleen: But is that so wrong? It is not an uncommon or sinful way of life.

Santo: Colleen, it is wrong when you deny how you feel in your heart, when you deny who you are, when you live for others, for their expectations.

Colleen: But there is such a thing as duty, and it is as important, if not more so, than doing what you feel in your heart. So tell me, Santo -- tell me how we can just turn our backs on that and pretend it doesn't matter. How can we live only for our own selfish desires?

Sami: I know exactly how she feels.

E.J.: I'm sure.

Sami: What does that mean?

E.J.: Colleen is duty-bound to the church, just as you are to Lucas.

Sami: What are you talking about? I don't feel like my marriage to Lucas is a duty. I love him more than anything.

E.J.: Of course you do.

Sami: What I was talking about is the DiMera vendetta against my family. It's been going on since before I was born. And I can't help but feel that it is my duty, just like it is the duty of every Brady, to do whatever is possible to end it. I can understand Colleen's guilt and her confusion. I can understand how she feels torn between her duty and --

E.J.: Her heart. I understand, too, Samantha. I really know what Santo was feeling. It's almost as if the two of them live inside our souls.

Sami: You are so full of it. You just won't give up.

E.J.: You can think what you like, but I understand my grandfather, just like you understand Colleen. He was born into a family in which his entire future was mapped out for him from the day that he was born. He felt duty-bound to live up to that. That's how I felt my whole life until you showed me that there was more. Look, I felt like my grandfather when he -- when he said this... "...I never knew that I was imprisoned until you unlocked the door."

Santo: Colleen, there was a time not long ago that I thought my power was limitless, that love... love was for the fools. And then, one day, in St. Malachy, I opened my eyes, and I see the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. And in that moment, everything changed. The more I came to know this woman, the more I realized that my life up until that point -- except for the birth of my son -- was without meaning. You're shivering. Do you know you'll catch your death from the cold. You must change these clothes, prego.

Colleen: It's not the cold that's making me shiver.

Santo: Well... you must at least dry your hair.

Colleen: I suppose you're right.

Santo: I will get some towels. [Thunder crashes]

Santo: Colleen, come, sit by the fire, where it's warm. Okay. Here we go. You know... you can stop whenever you want. Whatever happens or what does not happen, it is your decision.

E.J.: "That took me by surprise. They were words I had never heard before in my life -- 'I want it to be your decision.'"

Jett: Those are our guys right there. The second Rawlings shows up, they move in. It's all over.

Max: If he gives up his boss.

Chelsea: Andre DiMera.

Jett: He was the one pulling all the strings.

Chelsea: I just still can't believe that Jeremy didn't know what the real deal was -- the whole prostitution thing.

Jett: Yeah. Now, you sure Stephanie can keep Jay on the planet?

Max: Yeah, she'll get him to fly the girls out of here.

Jett: 'Cause it's André and Rawlings we want. And if Jay comes clean, he can avoid jail time.

Max: Which means my future would look brighter.

Chelsea: Stephanie will work her magic. Jeremy -- he'll be on board.

Stephanie: [Voice breaking] Oh, yeah? Think again. Jeremy took off. He's gone.

Jett: Jeremy took off?

Max: I thought you had this under control, Steph.

Stephanie: Yeah, so did I.

Jett: Where is he now?

Stephanie: I don't know! He told me he wasn't taking a chance on going back to jail.

Jett: Ugh! This is not good.

Max: Tell me about it. We got girls on the way to the airport. We promised we'd get them out.

Jett: I can fly the girls out as long as I have Rawlings in custody.

Chelsea: You want to fly a plane full of illegals? You're in enough hot water.

Jett: At this point, who cares? I'm already in enough heat. Just get to the plane, and I'll try to meet you there as soon as I can.

Max: Thanks. Good luck with Rawlings. Let's go.

Chelsea: No. I'm staying.

Jett: No, you're not. I don't want you anywhere near this place.

Max: Chelsea, let's go.

Chelsea: I said no. I am staying. And you really don't have time to argue because those girls aren't gonna hang around long when they get to the airport and find no one there.

Max: You're crazy. Fine. You know what? Steph, it's you and me.

Jett: Chelsea, I'm serious. I need you out of here now. Go to the room and lock your door.

Chelsea: This is a public place. I'm staying.

Sami: That is enough letter-reading for one night.

E.J.: We're just getting to the good part.

Sami: You want to keep reading? Then there's one condition.

E.J.: What?

Sami: No more making comparisons.

E.J.: How can you not make comparisons?

Sami: Because it's ridiculous. You and I, we are not the reincarnation of Santo and Colleen. There isn't a little bit of them living in our souls or any of that other garbage. Is that clear?

E.J.: Fine. Keep telling yourself that. [Clears throat]

Sami: Excuse me?

E.J.: I said fine, darling. No more comparisons. Keep reading. You have my word.

Sami: Oh, right. Like that's worth anything. [Sighs] "I have never been so close to a man's... beating heart."

Colleen: May God forgive me.

Sami: [Clears throat]

E.J.: Do you want me to...

Sami: What you to what?

E.J.: Read the rest. You look... a little uncomfortable.

Sami: I am perfectly fine, all right? I can do it.

E.J.: Okay.

Sami: [Clears throat] "All my life, I thought to lie with a man served only one purpose -- the getting of children. And for a woman of my vocation, it meant the ultimate betrayal to God. But that night, you showed me otherwise. You showed me an expression of love, the likes of which I had never imagined. And I wondered how such a thing could possibly be a sin. [Thunder crashes]

Jett: Chelsea, come on, man. You're gonna get in the way.

Chelsea: I'm not leaving you here to face Rawlings alone.

Jett: Chelsea, I'm not alone. I've got two agents, and, not to mention, I'm ISA. I think I can handle this without your help.

Chelsea: I'm sure you can. But I'm still staying. And if all of this is as simple as you say that it's supposed to be, then it really shouldn't be a big deal, should it?

Jett: Man, you're a pain. Something can still go wrong, Chelsea. Rawlings is a very dangerous guy, and I can't run the risk of something happening, especially not to --

Chelsea: What? What were you gonna say? "Especially not to..."

Jett: Not to you, okay? Chelsea, I'd die before I let anything happen to you.

Ilsa: Max, thank God you're here. We get to the plane, and there is no Mr. Jeremy. He is flying us out, yes?

Max: Um, no, he's not. But Jett is. You have nothing to worry about, Ilsa.

Ilsa: He promised to help us.

Stephanie: Yeah, Jeremy's had a change of heart. He's saving himself.

Sami: Looks like Santo got what he wanted.

E.J.: It sounds to me like Colleen got what she wanted, too.

Sami: I hope so because she was giving up an awful lot.

E.J.: This night changed her forever. That's what she said.

Sami: That is not what she said.

E.J.: She said words to that effect.

Sami: Maybe we should keep reading and find out.

E.J.: Prego.

Sami: After, as I lay in your arms, I remember feeling happier and more at peace than I'd ever felt in my life. Even so, I was hardly prepared for what it seemed you now expected of me."

Santo: There is no turning back now, no going back to St. Malachy.

Colleen: But, Santo, St. Malachy's is me home.

Santo: No, Colleen. Your home now is with me. That is what you want.

Colleen: I don't know what I want. All I know is that I should feel like A... like a fallen woman... but I don't. I don't feel that way at all.

Santo: How do you feel? Tell me.

Colleen: I feel free, free as a bird.

Santo: Because you are free. You're free to live your life to the fullest, to be mine, to be only mine, for the rest of our lives, Colleen. Come away with me. [Speaking indistinctly]

Sami: Santo has no right. I mean, he is destroying her life, everything that she has worked so hard for. Why can't he just leave her alone?

E.J.: Samantha, are we reading the same letters? Look, Colleen was a very willing participant.

[Knock on door]

Nurse Jennifer: Mrs. Roberts?

Sami: Yeah, do I have to have another injection?

Nurse Jennifer: Last one. I promise.

Sami: They kind of make me feel sleepy and out of it, you know?

Nurse Jennifer: Just go with it and get some much-needed rest. There you go.

Sami: Thank you, I guess. [Door closes] Santo manipulated her. He seduced her. He lured her into his trap. She was confused.

E.J.: You really believe that? Do you really? In your heart, you believe that she was happier before he came into her life.

Sami: So you think it's fine that she should have just chucked it all. She should turn her world upside down and the world of everyone that she cares about because she and this guy can't keep their hands off each other?

Santo: It's a lot more than that between the two of us, and you know it is.

Ilsa: Mr. Jeremy is not bad man. Just like us, I think.

Stephanie: What do you mean?

Ilsa: Me, the girls, we want so much, then we find out the price is too great.

Max: You okay?

Stephanie: That girl, Ilsa, she's very sweet. Nothing like what I thought.

Max: Yeah, she's great. She just got mixed up with the wrong person. That's all.

Stephanie: So did I.

Jett: You're getting out of here now, okay? I don't have time for this.

Chelsea: You don't have time for what? [Silenced gunshot]

Jett: Aah! [Crowd loudly]

Chelsea: Jett? Oh, my God!

Chelsea: Oh, my God. Jett! Oh, my God. [Crowd murmuring loudly] Somebody do something!

Stephanie: I'm such an idiot. To think that I fell for Jeremy and all of his bull, even after I promised myself no more bad boys.

Max: Like me.

Stephanie: You were a prince compared to him. You never promised me things or lied to me.

Max: But I still hurt you.

Stephanie: Yeah, you broke my heart. But I swore never again would I ever let a guy get that close to me. And Jeremy was perfect. I mean, he kept things light. He was all about having fun. No strings, no commitment. So what was there to worry about?

Max: Except that's not how things quite worked out.

Stephanie: [Sighs] I just can't help getting involved. The bigger the jerk, the harder I fall. Not to imply that you were a jerk.

Max: Oh, okay.

Stephanie: Even if you did go from Chelsea to me to Mimi to Abby without even so much as missing a beat.

Max: Oh, my God. I wa-- I was a jerk. I'm the first to admit that. Just -- I guess I have some commitment issues to work out.

Stephanie: You think?

Max: Maybe I haven't found the right girl. At least not at the right time.

Ilsa: I am sorry to interrupt, but Mr. Carver, shouldn't he be here by now?

Chelsea: Somebody help! Somebody do something! [Crowd murmuring loudly]

Man: Paramedics are on the way. What happened?

Chelsea: I don't know. We were just talking. I didn't even hear a shot. He just collapsed. He's bleeding.

Man: Rawlings.

Man 1: Let's go.

Chelsea: Wait, you guys have to do something! You have to call somebody!

Jett: [Gagging]

Chelsea: It'll be okay. Okay, okay, um... Jett, please don't die on me, okay? You cannot die on me.

Sami: You mean it's more than that for them, for Santo and Colleen, not for us.

E.J.: No. I mean, it's more than that for us, but not because of lust or passion or desire, although God knows that's a part of it. But it's something that is deeper than that, Samantha, much deeper.

Sami: What are you talking about?

E.J.: I am saying that we feel what they felt. But, unlike Colleen, you're not prepared to admit that.

Sami: Would you stop trying to pretend that there is a connection between us?

E.J.: I'm not trying to pretend anything. Santo and Colleen are a part of us. They're in our blood. They're in our hearts. They're intertwined into our very being. Samantha, I love every part of you -- the good, the bad, and everything between. You know, the selfish, conniving, generous, and reckless -- I love it all. And I am not giving up until you are mine, Samantha.

Santo: Come away with me, Colleen, the rest of the world be damned.

Colleen: How could you say such a thing when you know it's not possible, Santo? My family --

Santo: Your family, my family, the convent -- I don't care what they want or what they think, and neither should you.

Colleen: Please, Santo. Please. I'm begging you. Leaving you, leaving your bed is the hardest thing I've ever had to do. Don't make it any more difficult.

Sami: E.J., stop it. You have to stop this right now.

E.J.: Then admit that it's difficult. Admit that you're conflicted.

Sami: Are you out of your mind? I'm not admitting anything.

E.J.: That's because you don't want to hear it. Fine, don't listen, all right? Put your hands over your ears and drown me out with your protests and denials. You can't stop yourself from feeling what you feel, and I know that you feel it, Samantha.

Sami: [Sighs]

E.J.: You okay?

Sami: Yes, yes. I just -- this drug, it just -- it just hits me like a ton of bricks.

E.J.: Look, Samantha, I know that I'm perfect for you because I understand you like nobody else does. You and I, we're the same, okay? We're two of a kind. We're perfect for each other. You understand that? We try to be good. We aspire to be good. But there's still this part of us that wants what we want and do whatever it takes to get it.

Sami: I'm not like that anymore.

E.J.: Are you feeling a little woozy? Good. Maybe you'll let your guard down and really tell me the truth about how you feel.

Sami: I always tell the truth.

E.J.: Right. Sure you do. Samantha, look me in my eyes... and tell me this connection is all in my head. Tell me there's not a part of you that wants to do this every single time we're together.

Reporter: To repeat, we're just getting word of a shooting on the Vegas strip. No details as of yet, but police and paramedics are on the way, and the casino has been shut down. [Radio turns off]

Jeremy: Damn it. I don't want to hear the word "Vegas" ever again.

Chelsea: Jett, Jett, Jett, open your eyes, okay? I need you to stay with me, all right? Keep your eyes open.

Jett: [Gagging] Sorry, Chelsea. I'm sorry.

Chelsea: [Crying] Sorry for what?

Jett: I-I should have put up the money from the start.

Chelsea: Oh.

Jett: [Gagging]

Chelsea: Jett, okay, okay, okay, just stay with me. Stay awake with me.

Jett: You deserve -- you deserve be-- [Gagging]

Max: Ilsa's right. Jett should be here by now.

Stephanie: What do you think's going on?

Max: I'm gonna find out.

Rawlings: Let me save you the trouble. Your buddy ain't gonna make it. Now, I know that leaves you down one pilot, but not to worry. I'm happy to give it a shot. [Thunder crashes]

Santo: Colleen... will I see you again?

Colleen: Yes.

Sami: Get out! Get out! [Grunts]

Max: Hey, where do you think you're going?

Rawlings: I'm taking her out. What do you think?

Max: I think that you're not taking control of this plane.

Stephanie: Stop it, you bastard! What are you doing?!

Chelsea: Your hands are getting cold. Oh, my God. He's going into shock!

Lucas: I got to ask you.

Sami: Ask me what?

Lucas: Are we talking about Santo and Colleen or E.J. and you?
