Bo: I got the beer.

Lexie: Heavy?

Bo: Yeah, it is. Thanks.

Hope: Oh, I hope we have enough food.

Lexie: Hope, there is enough food here for 10 Fourth of July's, okay, even with me having five of everything.

Hope: Hungry, are we?

Lexie: I haven't stopped eating since you and Bo rescued me.

Hope: Honey, I am -- I am so sorry for everything that you've been through, being held prisoner in that tunnel all those months.

Lexie: Yeah. I'm still having nightmares.

Hope: You know what could help?

Lexie: No. Okay? Not yet. I'm not ready yet.

Hope: Abe loves you. He needs to know that you're alive, Lexie.

Lexie: I tried. No, really. Really, Hope. I tried. I wanted to be the first thing Abe saw when his bandages were removed.

Hope: So you weren't the first thing, but you know what? Be the best thing he's seen since his bandages came off.

Lexie: I've lost my nerve, okay?

Hope: Putting it off is only gonna make it harder.

Lexie: Hope.

Bo: She's right, you know. Now that Abe's got his sight back, let him see the person he's missed most in the world.

[Doorbell rings]

Lexie: Oh! Saved by the bell.

Bo: No, not really.

Hope: Would you excuse me? That must be Caroline and Shawn. Maybe, hopefully your father will finally tell us what he knows about his sister Colleen.

Bo: Don't push. Not today.

Hope: No. Who said anything about pushing, hmm?

Bo: Yeah. I know you.

Lexie: I've never heard anything about an Aunt Colleen.

Bo: Actually, nobody had or the fact that she was involved with Stefano's old man.

Lexie: With my grandfather?

Bo: Mm-hmm.

Lexie: You've got to be kidding me.

Bo: No. And Pop knows something about this whole thing, but he's not talking.

Hope: Hey, Caroline! Happy Fourth to you. My private stash. Come on in. Where's my very handsome father-in-law?

Caroline: Oh, well, he's not coming.

Hope: What do you mean he's not coming? He has to come. It's the Fourth of July.

Caroline: Well, he just -- he isn't up to it.

Hope: Because of Colleen. That's it, isn't it? That's why he's not coming.

Caroline: Hope, please, can we just -- can we drop it for today?

Nick: Well, maybe it's just pre-wedding jitters.

Jett: No. We haven't even set a wedding date. Things have definitely changed between Danielle and me. They're not the way they were, you know what I mean?

Nick: Mm-hmm. I guess.

Jett: Hey, dude, I'm sorry. I don't mean to load you up with this stuff.

Nick: Oh, no, no, no, no. It's fine. What do you think is going on?

Jett: Honestly, my biggest fear is that she's seeing someone else.

Danielle: I love you, too. Oh, and I miss you, too, baby. Gosh, it feels like forever since I've seen you, huh? Okay, well, look, I got to go, but I'll call you again first chance I get. I love you.

Chelsea: How's the nail?

Danielle: Excuse me?

Chelsea: Your nail. Remember? Did you ruin your expensive manicure?

Danielle: Yeah, right. Well, it's all better now. Here's your file.

Chelsea: Thanks.

Danielle: Mm-hmm. And I really appreciate you looking after my man. It means a lot to me and to Jett.

Steve: Come on. Let's have a talk.

Stephanie: Dad, I'm an adult, not a teenager.

Steve: All right, all right. Relax, baby. I just want to tell your boyfriend I'm sorry. I hope he'll accept my apology.

Marlena: Mmm.

Marlena: [Pleasurably] Oh. This feels so good. Like not having a care in the world. If only.

John: Shh! Can't hear the seagulls and the surf, baby. Hey. I know you're worried about Sami, but she's in a safe house with Lucas and the police commissioner -- her husband, her father. She's fine. No more worries. Give me your lips.

Marlena: Ooh.

John: That's what I'm talking about.

Marlena: Oh, mama. Belle's over there.

John: Yeah. Looks like her.

Marlena: Oh. I'm gonna go say hi to her. Or maybe not.

John: What's she doing with Philip?

Belle: I still haven't heard from Shawn. I hope the interview went okay.

Philip: Hey, the interview was taking place at a company picnic. Not exactly a pressure cooker. And we both know he aced it.

Belle: But he also said he would call.

Philip: He will. Just relax, Belle. That's why we're here, remember?

Belle: I can't help it.

Philip: Maybe I can. You shouldn't have the weight of the world on those pretty shoulders, and I'd like to fix that...if you'll let me.

Marlena: What is Belle doing alone over there with Philip?

John: I don't know. The kids did say they forgave him. He swears that he's reformed, and they've just put the past behind them.

Marlena: Mmm. What if he's not reformed? What if he's just...laying another trap for our daughter?

Belle: Thank you, but I don't have the weight of the world on my shoulders, pretty or not. I have Shawn. I have Claire. I have my Dad back. What more could a girl ask for?

Philip: How about a little time for herself?

Belle: Well, I thought that's why I was here.

Philip: Exactly. You need some alone time, time to lighten up and let all that tension go. And I've got just the thing.

Steve: I know I went kind of crazy on you the first time we met. I lost my cool. But this daughter of mine, she's still my little girl. She keeps reminding me she's not a little girl anymore. She's a grown woman. And if she says that you're okay, that's got to be good enough for me.

Jeremy: Thanks, man. That's awesome. It goes both ways. You know... Dad. You're gonna see you and I are -- we're a lot alike.

Steve: Is that so?

Chelsea: What do you -- what do you mean "thanks for looking after Jett"?

Danielle: I just mean that I appreciate it. With us apart, I'm just glad that he's making friends here. He really thinks a lot of you, Chelsea.

Chelsea: And that doesn't bother you at all that we hang out?

Danielle: Should it?

Chelsea: No, we're just friends, that's all.

Danielle: I know that. But thanks for reassuring me.

Chelsea: Yeah, no problem. I just think that trust is really important, you know?

Danielle: I couldn't agree more.

Nick: And what got the idea in your head that Danielle was...

Jett: Cheating on me? I don't know, just the little things that don't quite add up, you know?

Nick: Mm-hmm. Well, I don't know. Why don't you just go ask her?

Danielle: Hey, babe. I'm ready for that dance that you wanted.

Jett: Oh, hey. Sure, let's dance.

Danielle: All right.

Jett: Can you hold that, buddy? Thanks.

Chelsea: I just heard Danielle on the phone. I overheard her talking to someone, and she's totally cheating on Jett.

Bo: Lean back.

Caroline: I am so glad to see you up and around. How are you doing, darling?

Lexie: I'm much better, thank you.

Caroline: Good.

Bo: Hey, Ma?

Caroline: Yes.

Bo: Did you bring those deviled eggs?

Caroline: Bo, I'm beginning to think that's all you care about.

Bo: Oh, come on! No! Where is Pop? I could use some help with the grill.

Caroline: Uh, well, he'll be along shortly. He -- he had business at The Pub.

Bo: Business, today?

Caroline: Uh, well, ye-- uh...I'm going to get those deviled eggs. I don't want to hear any more questions about him, okay?

Bo: All right.

Bo: I got to get back to the grill.

Lexie: Okay.

Bo: Oh, yeah.

Max: Hey, bro.

Bo: Hey!

Max: Happy Fourth, man.

Bo: Same to you, Maximilian.

Max: What's going on?

Bo: How was Vegas?

Max: Oh, it was amazing. Oh, man, it was so much fun. I got you some designer stuff for my little niece.

Bo: Designer baby clothes?

Max: Yeah.

Bo: Nice.

Max: Mm-hmm.

Bo: What's in this bag?

Max: That'd be a...

Bo: Like a designer doll?

Max: Isn't it great?

Bo: Looks very expensive.

Max: Looks real, doesn't it?

Bo: Kind of. Thanks a lot, but I can't accept this.

Hope: Caroline. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to startle you.

Caroline: That's all right.

Hope: Why didn't you tell Bo the truth, that his dad's not coming today?

Caroline: I didn't want to upset him.

Hope: Don't you think he's gonna notice when his dad doesn't show?

Caroline: Well, I think I'll deal with that when I get to it.

Hope: You didn't answer my question before.

Caroline: I think you know. Shawn doesn't want to dig up the past. He's really very upset.

[Doorbell rings]

Hope: Oh! Kayla! Kayla!

Kayla: Hi, hi, hi, hi, hi.

Hope: You're back. I'm so happy. How was the conference?

Kayla: It was great, you know? But it was long, and I'm happy to be back.

Hope: I'm so glad that you're back because we have a little crisis, and it involves your dad.

Hope: Well, that's the whole story -- at least what we know of it. But we're convinced that your dad knows a lot more.

Kayla: That's just insane. He never mentioned one word about an Aunt Colleen.

Hope: Clearly a very sore subject.

Kayla: Such a sore subject that he wouldn't come to a family barbecue? Come on.

Hope: According to your mother, yes.

Kayla: Not if I can help it. I am going to convince him to come.

Hope: We need him for the picture, so it'd be great.

Kayla: I'm just gonna check in with Steve. Is he out back?

Hope: No. Actually, he's not here yet.

Kayla: That's weird. He wasn't at the house either.

Hope: Hmm. Well... there is one place that he might be, but you're not gonna like it.

Kayla: Where would that be?

Hope: The DiMera Mansion.

Kayla: The DiMeras --

Hope: It's not what you think. He's not working for them. He's working for us. He's keeping tabs on Tony and Stefano for us.

Kayla: Hope, this is ridiculous. It could jeopardize his recovery. [Sighs]

Steve: So, tell me, Jeremy, how are we alike?

Jeremy: Well, from what your gorgeous daughter here tells me, you're somewhat of a rebel. You do your own thing. You don't give a damn what anyone else thinks about it.

Stephanie: Mm-hmm.

Steve: Is that what you are, a rebel?

Stephanie: J.'s always thinking outside the box. And he does remind me of you. Why do you think I fell for him?

Steve: Right.

Stephanie: And if you give him a chance, you'll see what I mean.

Steve: Okay. So, what do you say we all have dinner some night? Give Stephanie's mama and me a chance to get to know you better, see just how outside the box you really are.

Jeremy: Cool, man. I'm there.

[Cellphone rings]

Jeremy: Excuse me a sec. It's business. Dude, talk to me.

Stephanie: So, did you really mean it? Are you gonna give him a chance, or are you just blowing smoke?

Nick: Danielle's having an affair? How do you know?

Chelsea: Because I overheard her on the phone. She was totally sweet-talking some guy. I think that we should do something.

Nick: Like what? It's none of our business.

Chelsea: Jett's my friend. I'm not just gonna stand back and watch him get his heart broken.

Max: What's the problem? For the first time in my life, I'm making some real money, and I can't share it with the family?

Bo: I appreciate the gesture and everything, but Ciara doesn't need fancy things to know you care.

Max: Maybe I did go a little overboard, but I couldn't help it.

Bo: Yeah, I'm sure you couldn't. Listen, this Vegas shuttle thing, it's treating you well, huh?

Max: Oh, yeah. Yeah, that's --

Max: [Laughs] Good times.

Bo: All this dough, it's from one trip?

Max: What's with all the questions? Is it so hard to believe that I'm doing well?

Bo: It happened pretty much overnight. I do tend to wonder.

John: I think they're just relaxing at the beach like us. No big deal.

Marlena: They were husband and wife for nearly two years.

John: So what? Still think she has something for him?

Marlena: I think she needs to be careful.

Belle: So, what exactly is this magical solution to help lighten me up?

Philip: Lighten up, smile a little, maybe even laugh.

Belle: Uh-huh. And for that I need?

Philip: To start using my guest pass to the country club.

Belle: What? The country club? I don't know.

Philip: What, you think you'd look out of place? I think you'd look like the classiest woman there.

Belle: I should call Victor and check on Claire.

Philip: Belle, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to --

Belle: No, you don't need to be. It's fine. You don't need to apologize.

Marlena: I can't believe it's really you. I'm not dreaming. It really is you.

John: Yeah, I'm in your arms, baby. It's as real as it gets. I love you.

Marlena: I love you.

John: You better prove it.

Hope: These are the letters that Stefano's father, Santo, wrote to Colleen Brady. I took them on my camera phone.

Kayla: It's incredible. I can't believe that you got into The DiMera Mansion and found these.

Hope: Anyway, they're all being translated right now. And once we get them back, hopefully -- hopefully we'll know what happened all those years ago.

Kayla: Yeah, and why there's a vendetta between these two families.

Hope: And how we can end it once and for all.

Kayla: And I can find peace in my own family. Stephanie and Steve are barely speaking.

Hope: What's going on?

Kayla: It's this Jeremy thing. It's kind of bringing out the worst in both of them.

Steve: I got to tell you, baby, the dude is setting off warning lights in my head, but you're right. I should get to know him before I pass judgment.

Stephanie: Yeah, you should.

Steve: Just remember, if I'm acting like an overprotective jerk, it's because I love you.

Stephanie: I'll try to keep that in mind.

Steve: Okay.

Stephanie: [Chuckles]

Jeremy: So, Mr. J., how about I buy you a beer? We'll toast to a fresh start.

Stephanie: Yeah.

Steve: Mr. J., huh? No, some other time. I got to get over to Bo and Hope's.

Jeremy: Right, the big Fourth of July bash.

Steve: Yeah.

Stephanie: Thank you, Daddy.

Steve: You're welcome.

Jeremy: Well, your old man's not so bad. The dude sucked it up. It couldn't have been easy for him.

Stephanie: Yeah. I think we might actually have him back this time.

Nick: I think we should just stay out of it, Chelsea. For all we know, Jett and Danielle could be swingers, or maybe they're on a break.

Chelsea: They're engaged. I can't believe the way she's treating him.

Nick: I can't believe that you care so much. Do you want to explain that?

Chelsea: I thought that I had. Jett is my friend, and I care about what happens to him.

Jett: So, what did we miss?

Jeremy: Who's ready for some shots?

Stephanie: We're calling them Uncle Sam Flamers.

Jett: Sounds good to me.

Stephanie: Here you go.

Danielle: I'll take one.

Jett: Hook us up, brother.

Jeremy: There you go.

Jett: Thank you.

Jeremy: There you go.

Stephanie: [Clears throat]

Jeremy: Yeah.

Jett: Do me rightly.

Jeremy: Nick?

Nick: No.

Jeremy: Oh, right. Designated man.

Jett: That's it. Here's to a Fourth of July.

Jeremy: And the best friends a guy could ask for.

Jett: Whoo!

Stephanie: Got ya.

Jett: Bottoms up.

Adrienne: I'm proud of you, brother.

Steve: Well, I'm still not sure about that kid, Adrienne.

Adrienne: Well, just remember what people thought about you when you first started dating Kay.

Steve: Yeah, they wanted to run me out of town.

Adrienne: [Laughs] To say the least. And remember what you thought about Justin? You never know. Jeremy could end up being the love of Stephanie's life.

Max: You're not gonna let go of this, are you? Man. Okay, so, maybe it's not just a shuttle.

Bo: Mm-hmm.

Max: Jeremy and I got something else -- something on the side.

Bo: How on the side?

Max: We're middlemen, you know, picking up designer stuff and selling it to a guy in Vegas.

Bo: Oh, Max, please. Tell me you're not involved in something illegal.

Max: They're not stolen if that's what you're thinking.

Bo: But?

Max: They're knock offs.

Bo: Look, if someone's selling these knock offs, that's criminal activity. That means you and Jeremy are guilty of complicity before the fact.

Max: I don't know that he's selling them. It's not like we're dealing drugs here.

Bo: I know what I'm talking about, Max.

Max: Can you have a little faith in me, please? Look, if things get dicey, I'll get out. You have my word.

Hope: I had no idea that Steve had a problem with Jeremy.

Kayla: He doesn't trust him.

Hope: Well, the truth is, he may be family, but I hardly know him myself. And I can see how he could rub people the wrong way.

Kayla: Well, that's playing it mildly when it comes to my husband.

Hope: He's just trying to protect his daughter.

Kayla: I just hope he doesn't push her away.

Hope: Don't worry.

Jeremy: Hey, hey! The party has arrived.

Hope: It has.

Jeremy: Point me to the weenie roast, cuz. I am starved!

Stephanie: Mom, you're back!

Kayla: Hi, baby. Hi. This is Jeremy. Jeremy, this is my Mom.

Jeremy: Wow, Mrs. Johnson, nice to finally meet you.

Kayla: Nice to meet you, too, Jeremy.

Hope: Well, listen, hey, all the food is out back, all the people. Let's go. Follow me.

Jeremy: All right, we're on it.

Kayla: Hello. Wow. Big crowd.

Stephanie: I'm so glad you're back.

Kayla: Me too. So, I hear that your dad and Jeremy didn't get off to a very good start.

Stephanie: That's what's actually so cool. He apologized to Jeremy for the way he treated him. How great is that?

Belle: [Laughs] Oh, my God. Guess who I just saw totally making out on the beach. My parents.

Philip: What did they say when you walked up on them?

Belle: They didn't see me. I didn't want to interrupt.

Philip: You just shielded your eyes and turned away?

Belle: [Laughs] Oh, gosh. I'm just happy they're back together, you know? So in love. Can you imagine almost losing the love of your life and then all of a sudden getting them back?

Philip: Isn't that what happened to you...with Shawn?

Belle: Yeah. Yeah, it is.

Jett: Enough of that filthy talk. This is my fiancé©, Danielle.

Danielle: Hi.

Max: Very nice meeting you.

Danielle: Very nice to meet you.

Lexie: Hope, look, thanks for everything. I'll talk to you soon.

Hope: Wait, wait. Lex -- Lex, you're going already?

Lexie: Abe's nephew Jett just arrived.

Hope: Have you ever met?

Lexie: No, but I'm sure he's seen pictures. And if he told Abe he saw me --

Hope: Lexie, don't you think that may--

Lexie: I can't. I can't deal with this, okay?

Hope: All right, all right. Okay, okay. All right.

Lexie: Thank Bo for me, okay?

Jett: We'll see you later, man.

Max: All right, have fun.

Danielle: Bye.

Jett: Uh, Mr. Brady?

Bo: Oh, Bo. Please, call me Bo.

Jett: Hey, I'm Jett Carver, Abe's nephew.

Bo: Hey, man. Good to meet you.

Jett: Oh, this is my fiancé©, Danielle.

Danielle: So nice to meet you.

Bo: You too.

Danielle: Thank you.

Jett: I hear you're the man around here.

Bo: I don't know about that.

Jett: A lot of people talk about you.

Bo: Uh-oh.

Danielle: It's all good, I'm sure. Look, thank you so much for having us over.

Bo: Hey, my pleasure. Any family of Abe's is family of ours, so you just make yourself at home. There's drinks right over here.

Jett: Thank you very much.

Hope: Anyway, your dad is in such a state over all of this that he's not even gonna come today.

Doug: Oh, you're kidding. No, I can't be the only Great-Grandpa here. Got to be somebody else to tell all those stories over and over and over.

Kayla: Listen, you know what? You don't have to worry, Doug, because I'm gonna go knock some sense into him, and I won't be back until I do.

Doug: Do it.

Julie: Good, good.

Caroline: [Laughs] Oh!

Chelsea: Look at her over there. She's just laughing like she is a politician's wife or something. She's about as sincere as one, too.

Max: Why don't you like Danielle?

Chelsea: Do you remember that time when I kind of hit on you to get back at Abby, and you had asked me what I would do if I was in her position and I knew my friend was being lied to?

Max: Are you in her position?

Chelsea: Yeah. And I've decided that I'm not gonna keep my mouth shut about it.

Nick: Are you still talking about that? Why don't you just leave it alone?

Chelsea: Because Jett is my friend, and he deserves to know the truth. Why are you so insistent upon not telling him?

Nick: Because he already knows.

Bo: Hey! Look who's here.

Hope: Hey, Maggie! Hi!

Bo: How are you?

Hope: Oh, Gran, I'm sorry. I got lipstick all over your cheek! but he never comes to see me.

Jeremy: I'm sorry, Gran. It's been kind of busy.

Alice: So I hear.

Jeremy: Business is going great, though.

Alice: You be good, now, you hear me?

Jeremy: Always, Gran. You know me.

Alice: Mm-hmm. Exactly.

Bo: Hey, Mrs. H., we got someone else who wants to say hi.

Alice: Hello. Sit down here.

Bo: That's your Grandma Horton.

Hope: Say, "hi, Great-Great-Gran."

Alice: She wants to come over here?

Bo: Yes, she does.

Maggie: Are you all right?

Alice: Yes, I'm all right. I'm nearly perfect.

Shawn D.: Nearly doesn't cut it, Gran. You want to say hi to your Great-Grandma? Your Great-Great-Grandma. Say hi. Say hi.

Alice: Hi.

Belle: Well, Shawn's back. He went to get Claire and went to his parents' house, so I guess I got to get going.

Philip: Belle, wait. I really am sorry if I went over the line a little with the offer for the club and all that and Claire meeting other kids and having other activities. But you got to know I was thinking of her. I was thinking of Claire.

Belle: Claire.

Philip: Yeah, with all the craziness in the last few months -- my fault -- she hasn't had any time with other kids.

Belle: No, she hasn't had any time with other kids.

Philip: And that's not good. So, if you won't take the offer for the club yourself, will you do it for her?

Jett: Mmm. Thank you, babe.

Chelsea: What -- what do you mean that Jett already knows? How do you know that he knows?

Nick: Because he told me. He said he had the feeling that she was seeing someone behind his back.

Chelsea: That doesn't make any sense. He danced with her. He's been dancing with her. He's been all over her all night. It's like she's the only woman in the world.

Nick: Maybe he's not ready to let her go. Sucks to find out that the person you love wants to be with someone else.

Belle: So, why would Claire meet kids at the club any more than anywhere else?

Philip: They have this amazing childcare program. I've looked into it.

Belle: You've looked into childcare at the club?

Philip: Absolutely. She'd make friends, learn how to swim. I think it'd be great for her.

Belle: Why is this so important to you?

Philip: Claire's important to me, Belle, and so is her mom. I want to try to make it up to you for the hell that I put the both of you through, not that I ever can.

Belle: You don't have to.

Philip: But I want to. Please. Let me do this for you, Belle. Let me do it for Claire.

Belle: I'll think about it and talk to Shawn. And speaking of Shawn, I got to go.

Philip: Okay, well... let me know how the interview went.

Belle: Yeah, I will. And thanks for this -- for everything.

Bo: Hey, we need more chairs.

Hope: What is all this?

Bo: Oh, a bunch of fancy stuff Max brought from Vegas for Ciara.

Hope: He shouldn't have done this.

Bo: Exactly what I said. He's taking it all back.

Hope: Uh-oh. What did he do? What's he up to?

Bo: He and Jeremy, they're running some kind of scam.

Hope: Oh, great. Jeremy's doing, I'm sure.

Bo: Yeah, I'm sure.

Hope: I'm getting a really bad feeling about my cousin.

Bo: Yeah, something tells me they're in over their heads.

Julie: Grandma, may we join you? Got you a cookie.

Max: You guys take a break.

Jett: I must be the master.

Max: I can't do that.

Jett: Tough act to follow.

Shawn D.: Max. How's it going, man?

Max: Hey, man. I'm good. I'm good. How are you?

Shawn D.: Hanging in there.

Max: Yeah?

Shawn D.: How's business at the garage?

Max: Eh, it's kind of slow. I'm into a bunch of new things now. I'm working with Jeremy and Jett on that new business venture.

Shawn D.: The Vegas shuttle. I heard about that.

Max: Yeah, yeah. So, the garage isn't really my primary focus. I got the head mechanic running things. He's a great mechanic, but he's got the personality of a wet mop.

Shawn D.: Well, why don't you just let me run it?

Max: Are you serious?

Shawn D.: Yeah, man. Let me take it over. I'll have more business in that place than you even know what to do with.

Max: Man, if you do that, seriously, I will consider giving you some of the profits. Really. But are you sure that's what you want to do?

Shawn D.: Honestly, it'd be an answer to my prayers right now.

Marlena: Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! There you are.

Belle: Hi, Mom.

Marlena: I wondered what happened to you.

Belle: Oh, well, I went to the beach with Philip, which you would have noticed if you and Dad weren't making out like teenagers.

Marlena: Oh. You saw that, eh?

Belle: Mm-hmm. Just can't keep your hands off each other, can you?

Marlena: Apparently we can't. I saw you, too, with Philip.

Belle: Yeah. So?

Marlena: It just seemed like you were, I don't know, really friendly and cozy. It began to kind of worry me some.

Belle: Oh, come on, Mom. We're just friends. That's all.

Marlena: I think you were having too much fun out --

Shawn D.: Hi, honey. I'm glad you're here.

Belle: How did your interview go?

Shawn D.: Uh... you know what? First I'm gonna get you a beer.

Belle: Oh, good. I'll come with you. We'll talk later.

Marlena: Oh, yes, yes, yes. Let's do that.

Bo: Hey, there.

Marlena: Oh, hey, there.

Bo: You look like you could use a cold one.

Marlena: I think I could use a cold one. Yeah. Yeah.

Bo: Something wrong?

Marlena: No, just playing the role of Mom. You know -- boring.

Bo: What's to worry about? Belle, Shawn, and Claire are back in town. Philip seems like a changed man.

Marlena: "Seems" is the operative word there.

Bo: Meaning?

Marlena: I don't know. I'm just not sure how much he has changed or if he's changed as much as he would like us to think that he has.

[Cellphone rings]

Philip: Hello? Hello? Is anyone there?

[Baby crying]

Philip: What the hell? Who is this? Who's calling?

Steve: Is this where the party is?

John: Hey. Out back, where it's hot. Hey.

Steve: What's up?

John: What's shaking over at The DiMeras'?

Steve: Actually, it's pretty quiet today. I guess even the evildoers take time out to barbecue, huh? Or they have Barf and Rolf flipping burgers for them.

John: Can't see Tony doing it.

Steve: No. Anyway, they trust me -- at least the old man does. I'll keep you posted.

John: Yeah. Do that. Let's go.

Kayla: Look what the cat dragged in!

Shawn: Oh.

Shawn: [Chuckles] Making a big deal of it.

John: It is a big deal. You're damn right it's a big deal. Glad you could make it, Shawn.

Shawn: I need a beer.

John: Yeah, that makes two of us. Come on. I'll show you where it is.

Shawn: Okay.

Steve: Sweetness. What is this?

Kayla: I missed you so much.

Steve: I missed you, too, baby, so much.

Kayla: But the second I get back, I hear that you're working as a double agent for The DiMeras. Are you out of your mind?

Steve: I'm not out of my mind. What are you talking about?

Kayla: Come on! This is insane. What if they have some other kind of trigger or something?

Steve: No triggers.

Kayla: Come on.

Steve: No, come on. Listen, baby. I promise you, everything's gonna be okay. Let's go to the party. And later, I'll have some private fireworks just for you.

Kayla: For me?

Steve: Yeah.

Kayla: Okay.

Bo: Okay, here's the clan. So, I figured you could just take the picture from here. Hey, you.

Caroline: Oh, I am so glad you changed your mind. Everybody's been asking about you.

Shawn: Well, our daughter guilted me into it.

Kayla: I don't think that's what I did.

Bo: Hey, everybody! Listen up! It's picture-taking time. Gather around Mrs. H. over there and face this way, okay?

[Indistinct conversations]

Bo: Let me get by here. Get up. We don't have much time.

Belle: You still haven't told me about the interview. How did it go?

Shawn D.: It went fine. We'll see what happens.

Belle: Okay.

Marlena: What about Sami?

John: Sami is safe. Sami's in the safe house with Roman and Lucas. They're not gonna let anything happen to her. I got a baby here. I'm passing the baby off.

Hope: I know. I know.

[Indistinct conversations]

Photographer: Okay, everybody! Ready? Everyone say, "Happy Fourth."

All: Happy Fourth!

Stephanie: Let's go hit the surf, Moondoggie.

Jeremy: Moondoggie? Okay, right behind you, Gidge.

Nick: I want to spend the night with you.

Chelsea: Sorry, Nick. It's not gonna happen.

Colleen: Sir, can you hear me? Open your eyes.

Bo: She wasn't a nun yet. She hadn't taken her vows.

Hope: Oh, I'm sure she never did. One thing we do know is this can't have a happy ending.
