Chelsea: Thanks, Jett. It was so fun.

Jett: Let me get that.

Chelsea: Thank you. I didn't know that guys still did that.

Jett: Well, I still open car doors and pick up the check. Even say, "yes, ma'am," "no, sir," when the occasion calls for it.

Chelsea: Oh, my hero.

Jett: Nah, not me. It's just the way I was raised. So, uh, burgers okay?

Chelsea: Yeah, that sounds great, act--

Nick: Hey, Chelse.

Chelsea: Hey.

Nick: I'm Nick Fallon.

Jett: Oh, okay. I'm Jett Carver.

Nick: As in Abe Carver?

Chelsea: This is Abe's nephew. And Nick is my boyfriend.

Jett: Oh, right. Yeah, yeah, Nick. So, you're the geek, huh?

Sami: E.J., please help me. Help me. Help my baby.

Tony: This is low, Elvis, even by your standard.

E.J.: When I asked you to meet me, I didn't expect you to dress for the occasion, Tony.

Tony: Well, what can I say? I look good in a suit.

E.J.: What's your plan "B" for killing Samantha?

Tony: You call me away from a perfectly roasted pheasant and a bottle of Sandeman Porto to discuss that tramp?

E.J.: Yes, Antony. So, I'll make this short and sweet for you. You call off your hit against Samantha... or I will kill you.

[Machine beeping]

Dr. Jacobs: Good news, the two of you. The baby shows no ill effects of the carbon monoxide.

Sami: Are you sure?

Dr. Jacobs: Yes, the lungs are clear. The heartbeat's strong and healthy.

Lucas: Good news. So I can take my wife home?

Dr. Jacobs: Well...

Lucas: I know, you want to keep her overnight for observation, right? I know the drill.

Dr. Jacobs: Just a precaution.

Lucas: That's fine with me. You got it.

Dr. Jacobs: I'm gonna be around for the next few hours if either of you need me, okay?

Lucas: Okay.

Dr. Jacobs: You take care, Sami.

Sami: Thank you, Dr. Jacobs.

Lucas: You're the best. Yes!

Sami: God, wasn't I just here?

Lucas: Yeah, yeah, that was you. Afraid so.

Sami: Lucas, do you remember how you got Kate and E.J. with that fire extinguisher?

Lucas: I do recall. Yeah, that was my finest hour, wasn't it?

Sami: I think we should do it again with that guard, and then we can get out of here and go home.

Lucas: No way. You're gonna stay here where you belong and get your rest.

Sami: I'm fine. The baby's fine. You heard Dr. Jacobs.

Lucas: You're not fine, all right? Those whack-job DiMeras tried to kill you. I don't want to hear it.

Sami: Lucas, it was just a warning.

Lucas: It wasn't a warning. Any time you seal a pregnant woman in a car and expose her to C.O., that's not a warning, okay? From now on, I'm gonna assign guards to you 24-7.

Sami: What are you talking about?

Lucas: And not just a cop at the door. I'm talking about two bodyguards to trace every move, follow you like a shadow.

Sami: We can't afFord that.

Lucas: I don't care. I'm not gonna put a price tag on your life or that baby's. Enough.

Sami: Lucas, I think you're making too big a deal out of this.

Lucas: I am not, all right? You were almost killed. Stop trying to minimize things.

Sami: I'm not. I'm not trying to minimize it. You know what? There's something else I want to talk to you about, though.

Lucas: All right, fire away. What's up?

Sami: That letter that we found at Maison Blanche in New Orleans -- I really do believe that, that's the past. It's reaching out to me.

Lucas: I know, Sami.

Sami: Lucas, let me finish, please? Let me just explain.

Lucas: I'm sorry. Go ahead.

Sami: Aunt Hope -- she was able to read a little bit of that letter. I really think that could be the reason that could help us understand the reason the DiMeras have had this vendetta against my family for so long.

Lucas: Want to know what I think? I think we should burn that damn letter. That's what I think.

Sami: What?

Lucas: I mean it. The DiMeras know you have it. You're more of a target, Sami. Come on.

Sami: That's not gonna make this go away, Lucas. This is our chance, our chance to find out what started all this madness.

Lucas: And what, you think you could stop it?

Sami: I think we could stop it. Come on, Lucas, this is your family, too, now, right?

Lucas: Yeah.

Sami: We could do something about this. We have to think about the bigger picture here. Will is in danger. This baby could be in danger. Don't we owe them a better future than that?

Nick: What did you just call me?

Jett: Yeah, that came out all wrong.

Nick: I mean, you don't even know me. We're not even friends.

Jett: Yeah, I know. Chelsea was the one who tagged you. She was talking you up at your job and everything, how good you are in the lab.

Nick: Really?

Chelsea: Yeah, you know.

Jett: Look, I made an assumption, and that's my bad, Nick. I'm sorry if I offended you.

Nick: No problem.

Jett: As a matter of fact, I used to know a lot of guys like you back in the Air Force Academy.

Nick: You were in the academy?

Jett: Sure was. Fly jockeys like me who live to touch the skies need guys like you to build the planes. You know what I'm saying?

Nick: Yeah, we're good at things like that.

Jett: So, you want to join us?

Chelsea: Oh, Nick is, um -- he's with all his friends.

Nick: You know what? It's cool. I think I'm totally free for the evening.

Tony: Did you just threaten me, Elvis?

E.J.: No, brother. I believe that falls into the category of a promise.

Tony: Samantha -- I haven't seen your brood mare since that night at the warehouse where you betrayed our father.

E.J.: We both know that you gave the order for her to be executed. I mean, this is the crime scene.

Tony: Oh. Oh, that's what all this yellow tape means.

E.J.: You're lucky I don't hang you with it.

Tony: But I don't see any chalk outline.

E.J.: She was inside the car, Tony. Let me ask you something. Who did you get to pump in the carbon monoxide? Was it Bart? Dr. Rolf?

Tony: Why don't we just cut to the chase? Is your beloved Samantha dead?

E.J.: You know full well that she's not. Because if she was, you would have taken her body and you would have harvested stem cells.

Tony: Oh, that's an interesting scenario.

E.J.: Don't try and deny it.

Tony: Well, I'm not accountable to you for anything, so if we're through --

E.J.: We're not through, actually. We're not even close to being through. I want a truce.

Tony: You know that's completely out of my control.

E.J.: Then I'm gonna go and talk to father.

Tony: You know, you really have a nerve. [Sighs] You turn your back on our heritage, your history. You cut the ties with the family, and for what? Someone as worthless, a nobody like Samantha Roberts? Pearls to swine -- what a colossal waste.

E.J.: She's a waste. Then why do you have such a stake in her life?

Tony: Oh, just a means to an end. Nothing personal. But I'm curious about something. What is it about that...spoiled brat that gets you down on your knees begging... to save her pitiful soul?

Lucas: You know that family means everything to me. And, yeah, to pay back the DiMeras, that'd be great. That'd put a big old smile on my face.

Sami: Payback? This is not about payback.

Lucas: What's it about, you achieving peace?

Sami: Stop it. Stop with the sarcasm. I'm being serious. What if God really wanted us to find that letter because he wants to make sure that we find an end to the feud between these families?

Lucas: I admire you. I really do. I admire you for wanting to do something, but you're not up to this now.

Sami: What are you saying, I can't do it?

Lucas: I'm saying it's dangerous, and you're five months pregnant. Give yourself a break for once.

Sami: The pregnancy is exactly why I have to find out what that letter means -- for the future of our children.

Lucas: I am not going after peace at any price if it means putting you and that baby at risk.

Sami: Lucas, you didn't grow up in Salem. You don't know what it was like.

Lucas: No, I don't.

Sami: Lucas, it was like a reign of terror that the DiMeras unleashed on my family.

Lucas: I know, Sami. I have a pretty good idea what happened, okay?

Sami: It's not the same. Hearing stories is not the same thing as living through it. Stefano kidnapped my mom and my dad, and he made us think that they were dead. He held them hostage, and God knows what he did to them. And then he did the same thing to Uncle Steve and Aunt Hope. I mean, my whole family. Who's next? Me -- am I next? Is that what's gonna happen? We have to do something. We have to stop this before it's too late.

Lucas: What you have to stop is you have to stop acting like this. Calm down. Your blood pressure's going through the roof.

Sami: It's 25 years too late for me to calm down. Stefano kidnapped my sister. My brother and I, we grew up being afraid that we were gonna be kidnapped by a DiMera goon at any moment. We lived in terror of that. I can't do that anymore -- for my family, for my friends, for every unborn Brady that is out there, including this child. Lucas, we have to end this. And if you won't help me...I will do it myself.

Nick: So, uh, how'd you get the name "Jett"? Is it like airplane 'cause what a crazy coincidence.

Chelsea: No, Jett has two T’s, Nick.

Jett: That's okay. People make that mistake all the time. I was actually named after a character in a movie.

Nick: Would I know it?

Jett: Um, maybe if you're into old movies.

Chelsea: Oh, yeah, he is, actually. Why don't you go ahead and tell Jett about your two favorites? "Shane" and "Patton."

Nick: Funny.

Chelsea: It was just a joke.

Nick: Uh, what was the name?

Jett: "Giant."

Nick: Oh, my God. I love that movie. It's like one of my favorites. It's Jett Rink. He's an oil billionaire. James Dean.

Chelsea: I love James Dean.

Nick: Yeah, well, he only made three movies. It was "East of Eden," "Rebel Without a Cause," and "Giant," which was definitely my favorite.

Chelsea: Okay, thank you, Mr. IMDb.

Nick: I was just explaining --

Jett: I don't know anything about the movies myself. My mom just thought it was a cool name.

[Cellphone ringing]

Nick: Well, basically, it's like this guy who --

Chelsea: Okay, we get it. You liked the movie.

Nick: You know what? Um...actually, I have to take this. One second, all right? I'll be right back.

Jett: Your boy, Nick, he's pretty cool.

Chelsea: Nick? Cool.

Nick: What's going on?

Maggie: Oh, uh, Nick, I had to interrupt your good time.

Nick: It's okay. What's wrong?

Maggie: I got a call from Salem Bank and Trust.

Nick: What about?

Maggie: The manager said your credit card was over its limit, like way over.

Nick: That's impossible.

Maggie: Well, that's what I said because it's not like you to run up charges like that, but Mr. Rooney was very insistent.

Nick: That's crazy. I haven't even used it -- oh, my God. Willow.

Maggie: Willow, like Willow Stark?

Nick: I can't explain this right now, Aunt Maggie, but don't worry. I'm gonna take care of this, all right?

Lucas: Listen, no one's expecting you to run out there like Joan of Arc, okay?

Sami: Hey, she led an army.

Lucas: She ended up French toast.

Sami: This isn't the time to be funny.

Lucas: I'm serious.

Sami: I'm serious, too.

Lucas: All right, fine. What did Hope do? How did she help you translate this letter?

Sami: She found some clues in that letter, like real clues -- I mean, something we can really go on, something we can start with.

Lucas: I don't know. I don't know. After today, I don't know. I can't let you do it. I'm sorry.

Sami: Come on, Lucas, we can do this together. We found that letter together. It is our responsibility.

Lucas: It's our responsibility to leave it alone.

Sami: No. Lucas...come on. We can do this. We have an obligation to our children to try.

Lucas: You have an obligation to me to stay alive, all right, to grow old with me and watch our children and grandchildren grow old.

Sami: I want that more than anything. You know I do.

Lucas: What if that doesn't happen, huh? What if I lose you? And don't look at me like that. You don't know. You don't know if that's gonna happen. You don't know if instead of celebrating a one-year wedding anniversary, if I'll be putting flowers on your grave. You don't know if our baby's gonna live long enough to be baptized and go to school and play ball. I'm not gonna turn out like Aunt Kayla. I'm not gonna be your Aunt Kayla. I'm not gonna lose the one person I can't live without. What am I supposed to do? What if you're the final price this family has to pay, Sami?

Sami: Lucas.

Lucas: And then Will and I are alone? I'm not gonna do that. We took an oath when we got married -- for better or for worse. I didn't give you my name just so you could sign your death warrant with it. I won't do that. I won't let it happen, so for God's sake, Sami, for my sake, for your sake, and this baby's, leave this the hell alone, all right?

E.J.: You know that this has nothing to do with Samantha, and this has everything to do with the child she's carrying.

Tony: What's this, some latent urge to pass out the cigars? I don't ever recall you having a desire to procreate.

E.J.: I didn't, but now Samantha is carrying my child.

Tony: Yes, so that you will sacrifice for the sake of our father.

E.J.: No. I'm not gonna sacrifice one life to save another. I won't do it. I don't have it in me, Tony, and I'm not afraid to admit that.

Tony: Oh, don't make yourself out to be so noble. You know this has nothing to do with father and everything to do with Samantha.

E.J.: Oh, I don't deny that.

Tony: She turned you into a love-sick puppy. Take a good look at yourself, Elvis. You are no savior, especially not Samantha's. You are the thorn in her side, the bane of her existence.

E.J.: That would be you.

Tony: Me? No. No, you're just trying anything to win over the fair maiden at the expense of our own father's life, and for what? So that, that little bitch can make love to you on a bed of rose petals?

E.J.: I can think of worse reasons for saving one's offspring.

Tony: Then pick up your gauntlet, little brother, and throw in the towel, because Samantha is never gonna be yours, not in this lifetime or any other.

E.J.: Look who's talking. You wrote the book on futile obsessions, Tony. Who was yours again? Kristin Blake. Yeah. It was your failure there that turned you into this bitter, soulless creature, who lives to do nothing but destroy and to hate. But that's not me, and that is not my father, so do not presume to speak for this family because you are one of a kind.

Tony: Yes.

Nick: So, you were talking to your lawyer?

Willow: Yeah, I just was, and guess what. I've got some semi-great news. My lawyer thinks that --

Nick: I don't care what your lawyer thinks. I loaned you my credit card so you could buy a bed to sleep on. Now it's maxed. What happened?

Willow: I had a few other necessities.

Nick: What necessities?

Willow: Flat TV screen, DVD player. Oh, and a new Nintendo WII so my baby can work on the hand-eye coordination.

Nick: How could you do this to me, Willow? I did everything for you. I paid for your apartment. I paid for your rent. I did everything.

Willow: 'Cause you're a nice guy.

Nick: No, no, no, no. This stops now. I'm done trusting you. Give me my card back.

Jett: Well, it looks like your man's not coming back.

Chelsea: What?

Jett: Nick.

Chelsea: Oh, yeah. Anyway, um, tell me about your stint in the Air Force.

Jett: Ah, those were the best years of my life, although I'm sure there's more of that to come.

Chelsea: Is that where you met Mr. Personality?

Jett: You mean Jeremy?

Chelsea: Yeah, he's pretty high on himself.

Jett: Yeah, that's just the way he comes off.

Chelsea: You guys have, like, what in common?

Jett: Well, we're both from families from Salem, although we weren't raised here.

Chelsea: Yeah, me, neither.

Jett: So, when we got leave, we'd come into town, hoist a few, pay some cards, and it just turned out we knew a few of the same people.

Chelsea: So, J. is like your best buddy?

Jett: I'd trust him to watch my back anytime. He'd do the same.

Chelsea: So, um, tell me a little bit about this Salem-to-Vegas shuttle thing you guys came up with.

Jett: Well, J.'s always thinking of ways to make more money and get richer faster, and we're both pilots, so it just fell into the idea of touching the friendly skies and meeting some high rollers, you know?

Chelsea: I don't know. It just -- you seem a lot nicer than your little boot-camp buddy. I don't know, maybe because he's a Horton, he thinks that he's got it all right or whatever, but...I just don't see Jeremy and me getting along.

Jett: Yeah, that's just 'cause you both spark off before a match is even struck.

Chelsea: Yeah.

Jett: But trust me, man, we're gonna make some serious money in this business.

Chelsea: Yeah, assuming my friend Max will give you guys the $25,000 loan.

Jett: True. Max is good people, too. I mean, if that loan clears, we'll be up and running by this time next week.

Chelsea: Really?

Jett: Yeah. Are you sure you don't want to get back on board? I mean, you'll make some good money, have some fun. And I promise to run interference with the J-Man.

Chelsea: Would it make a difference if I did?

Jett: A world of a me.

Tony: [Sighs] My, my. That was quite a speech. Poor, lonely, bitter me. Why, I'd feel absolutely suicidal with such an indictment if I weren't considering the source.

E.J.: You're not fooling anyone, Tony, least of all yourself.

Tony: Well, shall I also put self-delusion in my big bag of misery?

E.J.: Yeah, let's throw that in with envy and jealousy, shall we?

Tony: What, me? Me jealous of you? [Laughs]

E.J.: I fathered a child. You could never do that, could you?

Tony: You know, you should have been a stand-up comic. I think you missed your calling.

E.J.: Well, I'm glad you find it funny, but you're forgetting something. See, I don't just know your history. I know my history, too. And I know that the only reason that I was ever conceived was so that your...betrothed could hang on to John Black. Poor old Tony. You never quite get the girl of your dreams, do you?

Tony: If you're finished, I think I'll go back to my dinner.

E.J.: No. Actually, I'm not. It's amazing to me that you even have an appetite for roast pheasant, was it, with that truth swirling around in your stomach like some toxic reminder of your own failure.

Tony: You think that --

E.J.: I know...that I was only ever conceived to be a pawn in my father's game. But look. Look at where I am. I'm now the prince. I might have a child with Marlena's daughter. Amazing, isn't it? And yet you, the elder brother, what are you doing? You're hanging around an old house with a dying man, nothing but hired thugs to keep you company. I have everything that you ever wanted. God, how that must gall you.

Tony: I never extorted sex. The only way you can control a woman is by raping her, and not a very fine woman at that -- a used woman, a liar, and a whore.

E.J.: You watch your tongue.

Tony: Ah. What? What? I struck a nerve, a really exposed nerve, didn't I?

E.J.: I've had enough of reasoning with you. I'm gonna go and talk to father.

Tony: Impossible. You see, you're the rotten limb that father cut from the family tree.

E.J.: Really? Well, if that's true, he can tell me himself. And if you dare try and stop me from getting to see him, well, I think I already told you what would happen.

Tony: [Shutters] I just felt a chill go down my spine. But let me make a suggestion. The next time you make a threat, like holding a gun to somebody's head, make sure you've got the bullets.

E.J.: It would be a grave mistake to underestimate me.

Tony: Well, I certainly will try to satisfy your false sense of superiority. I'll arrange a meeting with father.

E.J.: Sooner rather than later.

Tony: In the meantime, I suggest that you forget about the past. Focus on the present. And getting those life-giving stem cells will certainly go a long way in earning my support.

E.J.: And if I refuse?

Tony: You'll be branded an outcast, a traitor. And that brand burns, Elvis. Samantha will be the least of your worries.

E.J.: Well, now you're giving me chills.

Tony: It is your head that is on the cutting block. And any comfort you may receive from your lovely thoughts of your precious Samantha will be, like that, snuffed out when the blade falls.

E.J.: I'll file that away.

Tony: Well, this is getting tiresome. I think it's time you went and visited your little friend Samantha at the hospital. Yes. She's in room 210. Unless, of course, something... tragic has befallen her while you're here wasting my time. [Laughs] It's time. Make that call.

Lucas: If it's about you wanting to be some kind of hero, I got news for you, honey -- you already filled that slot.

Sami: No, I didn't. E.J. is the one who saved you in that cabin, not me.

Lucas: That's not the way I look at it. He gave you a choice -- throw yourself at that piece of garbage or save my life, and you saved my life. Don't you understand that? You'll always be my hero. Isn't that enough for you?

Sami: No. It's not. Lucas, you and I, we can do something about this. You know, with all our schemes and all the scams that we have pulled in the past, don't you think we are the right people to figure this out? We can find out what caused this feud, and we can end it once and for all.

Dr. Rolf: Yeah, I know what to do. Hmm. [Chuckles] Evening, officer. I have dinner here for Samantha Roberts.

Chelsea: When Stephanie first talked to me about the shuttle-to-Vegas thing, um, it sounded really awesome. I mean, I've never been to Sin City before.

Jett: Really? It's like no other place in the world. I mean, it's like Paris, Rome, Venice all wrapped up into one. I mean, if you want dinner at 5:00 in the morning or breakfast at midnight, you got it. And there's no clocks in the casinos, so time doesn't exist there. I mean, even if you don't gamble, you got this amazing play land, and there's no rules. And if you come to work for us, one week later, you get to do it all over again.

Chelsea: [Chuckles] I will say that you are an amazing salesman.

Jett: And that's not all. We got this suite that's run by one of the casinos, Jeremy's friends. I mean, this fly-boy crash pad, you're talking 4-star deluxe -- pool, Jacuzzi, wet bar, and a view of the city that'll knock your eyes out.

Chelsea: I don't know. It just sounds a little too good to be true.

Jett: I know, but it's real. It's ready, and it's waiting. I mean, I guarantee you'll make more tips there in one night than you'll make in a day job here in a week.

Chelsea: Well, that's good, considering right now I'm making zero.

Jett: Well, them high rollers definitely know how to take care of the ladies, especially the hot ones.

Chelsea: You think I'm hot?

Jett: Oh, come on, Chelsea. I'm not blind, and you're not stupid. I mean, on the heat scale of one to 10, you're an 11 and then some.

Chelsea: [Chuckles] Why, Jett Carver, are you, by any chance hitting on me?

Willow: Don't yank my hand off. I didn't mean to cause you any trouble.

Nick: Yeah, but that doesn't stop you from sucking everyone dry who tries to help you.

Willow: Chill out, Nick.

Nick: I mean it, Willow. You've pushed me right to the edge, but it stops right now. I'm calling the bank. The repo man will be there first thing in the morning to take all your freakin' necessities back.

Willow: If you were smart, you wouldn't make that phone call.

Nick: I'm also canceling the lease on the apartment.

Willow: It's gonna cost you.

Nick: I don't care about the money.

Willow: Oh, no, it's not about money. It's about your pukey little life, 'cause I'm gonna sick my P.D. on you and have him investigate this whole hairbrush thing.

Nick: Do it. Tell anyone you want. Shout it from the rooftops 'cause I'm done being blackmailed. This stops here and now -- no more money, no more help, no more apartment.

Willow: What am I supposed to do? What about my baby?

Nick: It's not my problem.

Willow: You're gonna help me, you egghead loser, whether you like it or not.

Jett: What? You think I'm messing with you?

Chelsea: No, no, I think that you are flirting with me. And I think that you should probably not waste your charm because I do have a boyfriend.

Jett: Whoa, oh, hold on a second, girl. Let me show you something. [Clears throat]

Chelsea: Who's that?

Jett: That's my fiancé.

Chelsea: She's really hot.

Jett: Yep, and I love her to death.

Chelsea: Well, this is me crawling under a rock.

Jett: It's cool. You just picked up on a vibe, that's all. Just the wrong one.

Chelsea: What vibe?

Jett: Well, I do like you, Chelsea. You're hot. I think we'd work great together. It helps that you're easy on the eyes, but that's all I meant.

Chelsea: This is embarrassing.

Jett: Don't worry about it. So, what do you say? You up for taking a job with the touch the sky boys?

Chelsea: Yeah, I'm on board.

Jett: All right.

Chelsea: Hey, Nick, you just missed the exciting news. I just got a new job -- working with Jett.

Nick: What job?

Chelsea: Well, it's actually not really like a job. It's more of, like, an adventure.

Nick: I'm not in the mood for games right now.

Chelsea: So, Jett and his friend Jeremy, they've set up this, like, shuttle from Salem to Vegas for high rollers, and me and Stephanie are gonna be flight attendants.

Nick: I needed training for that.

Jett: Well, it's a private jet service, and Chelsea doesn't really need training to be friendly.

Chelsea: Aren't you happy for me?

Tony: Damn you. Damn you, little brother. What makes you think you can talk to me and tell me what to do, you miserable little bastard? Now, let's see who father loves best.

Bart: Tony, do you want me to clean that up?

Tony: No, just leave it alone. His threats mean nothing. E.J. means nothing... not after I've ground him into dust.

Nurse: At this hour?

Dr. Rolf: It's Dr. Jacobs. I cannot tell you how many times she has made me do this for her. You see, she wants to make sure that Mrs. Roberts eats something before midnight. Something about tests in the morning, I believe, yes. Yeah? Good.

Sami: Lucas, I --

Lucas: Who are you?

Dr. Rolf: I have dinner here for Mrs. Roberts.

Sami: I didn't order dinner.

Dr. Rolf: Doctor's orders.

Lucas: Mmm, looks good.

E.J.: Excuse me, did that man, the guy in the white, did he go in that room?

Officer: Yeah, he just brought her dinner.

E.J.: I need to go in there.

Officer: Whoa.

E.J.: Calm down. It's a matter of life and death.

Officer: You are not going anywhere, Mr. Wells.

Lucas: Don't do that. Don't sulk.

Sami: I just really thought you were gonna back me on this, Lucas.

Lucas: I can't back you on something that involves you going into DiMera territory, but...

Sami: But what?

Lucas: But I know you. I know when you make up your mind about something. I'm not gonna fight you on this.

Sami: I don't want you to fight me on it. I want you to help me save my family.

Lucas: All right. All right, then, I'll do it.

Sami: Thank you. Thank you so much.

Lucas: I'll do it on one condition.

Sami: What?

Lucas: You involve your dad and Bo in on this.

Sami: Oh, come on, Lucas.

Lucas: No, I mean it. I want full police coverage or this investigation's off, Sami.

Sami: It'll be fine. Can you get me some water? I'm gonna need something to drink to choke down this mystery meat.

Lucas: You want ice in it?

Sami: No, I'm fine.

Chelsea: Come on, Nick. What do you think? Can you see me charming the high rollers on the way to Vegas? Ooh, I have a really good idea for uniforms, too. I was thinking, like, micro minis, spiked heels.

Nick: Chelsea, um...can I talk to you for a private?

Chelsea: Nick, that's kind of rude.

Jett: Nah, it's cool. Don't worry about it. I'll go and check in with Jeremy outside.

Chelsea: What's your problem?

Nick: I don't know.

Chelsea: You know, this great opportunity finally falls into my lap, I can afFord to pay my way through college, and you're not even happy for me?

Nick: It's not that. This is just the first I've heard about it.

Chelsea: Well, I just made up my mind.

Nick: Well, how well do you know this Jett guy anyway?

Chelsea: He is Abe Carver's nephew. You can't get more stand-up than that.

Nick: I guess not.

Chelsea: Yeah, and his partner is your cousin.

Nick: What?

Chelsea: Jeremy Horton.

Nick: Mike and Robin's son?

Chelsea: Yeah. So, you see, the gig is all in the family. Well, your family.

Nick: I don't even know Jeremy. He was raised overseas by his mom. He's like a total stranger to me.

Chelsea: What does that have to do with anything? Don't tell me that you're actually jealous, because if you are, that's just unfair. I mean, here you go -- you're renting an apartment for an ex-hooker. You let her stay the night in your bedroom.

Nick: I did not let her stay the night in my bedroom. She snuck in.

Chelsea: Whatever. It never should have happened.

Nick: It won't ever again. I saw willow at the police station. I told her that the free ride was over.

Chelsea: Did she get the message?

Nick: Yeah, I told her I'm backing out of the apartment and I'm cutting her out of my life.

Chelsea: Nick, that is great. Scrape the slut right off your shoes. Now this is something to celebrate.

Maggie: Well, hello, you two. Sorry to interrupt.

Nick: It's all right. I took care of the whole credit-card thing.

Maggie: Oh, well, that's not why I'm here. Okay, um...I went home to discover that the lock on your bedroom window had been broken, and your room was completely trashed.

Nick: What? Is Uncle Mickey okay?

Maggie: Well, thank goodness, yes. He took a sleeping pill, and he slept right through it. No, your room was the only room touched. The drawers were emptied, your desk. I mean, it was like a cyclone hit it.

Nick: I don't believe this.

Maggie: Nicky, whatever is going on with you, it's gone far enough, okay? I want you to tell me everything right from the beginning.

Willow: [Sighs] Nick, you are so predictable.

Chelsea: Nick, maybe it was a couple of your lab buddies playing, like, a prank on you or something.

Maggie: Well, if it is, I don't see anything funny about it.

[Cellphone rings]

Nick: I know who did this. Hello?

Willow: Hey, Nicky, guess what I found in your room.

Nick: That's it. You've crossed way over the line this time.

Willow: No, no, no, no. You got your say tonight, and now I have mine. Remember that hairbrush that you stole, the one to save your bony-ass girlfriend? Yeah, I found it, and I need you here in 20 minutes with cash, credit cards, debit cards, or I'm gonna turn the brush over to the police.

Nick: Wait a minute.

Willow: 19 minutes, Nick.. Time is running out.

Maggie: Nick, who called you?

Nick: I got to go. Whatever you do, don't tell the cops about the break-in.

Maggie: Why not?

Nick: Because this is my problem and I have to deal with it for good.

Dr. Rolf: It's done.

Tony: No problems?

Dr. Rolf: One close call. Elvis showed up just as I was leaving.

Tony: Now that's what I call perfect timing.

E.J.: Look, look. Please, Officer Mike, I need you to trust me. Okay, look at me. Her life is in danger, but I am not the threat. I need you to let me in there. Look, I mean it. Holster that gun, please! I need to get in there. Her life is at stake.

Lucas: What the hell is that?

Sami: It sounds like E.J.

Lucas: Oh, great. I can't believe this guy. You got to be kidding me. It's all right, officer. You don't listen too good.

E.J.: Please you need to lis-- no, no, no, spit it out. Spit it out. The food -- spit it out. It's poisoned. Spit it out. Spit it out. It'll kill you. Spit it out.

Willow: I'm gonna kill you! Nick, let go!

Nick: Willow.

Sami: We don't need to worry about E.J.

Lucas: Yes, we do.

Man: Somebody, over here. We need a doctor.

E.J.: Aah! It's okay, it's okay.
