Rick: Hey, I have an idea.

Brooke: (Sighs)

Rick: Why don't you and I go out and get some comfort food or something?

Brooke: Oh, God, no. I'm definitely not hungry.

Rick: Well, you might be when we get there.

Brooke: Why? I-- (sighs) why would Ridge feel...

Rick: (Sighs)

Brooke: So betrayed by me?

Rick: Because, Mom, he's an immature, self-centered jerk, okay?

Brooke: I crafted that speech so perfectly, and I wanted the world to know how important Ridge was to the company, and I did. I-I said everything. (Sighs) and he, for some reason, he's so disillusioned, and he just walks right out. Why? I-I don't understand. It doesn't make any sense.

Rick: (Sighs) (cell phone rings)

Brooke: (Sniffles) Hello?

Katie: Hey, Brooke. Um, I'm just seeing when you want us to bring Jack over.

Brooke: Oh... (sighs) Katie.

Katie: What?

Brooke: Uh... (sighs) right now is not really a good time. Do you think you could keep Jack for now?

Katie: What's wrong?

Brooke: (Sighs) It's Ridge. (Sighs) He's gone.

Katie: Gone?

Brooke: He walked out on me. He wa--he was very upset. I-- (sighs) Katie, I don't know if he's coming back.

Katie: What? Honey, what--what happened?

Brooke: Look, I can't get into it right now. Just keep Jack a little longer, okay?

Katie: Sure, no problem.

Brooke: Thank you. (Sighs) I'll talk to you soon. (Sighs)

Rick: Mom, we have really got to get you out of this house.

Brooke: I know. (Sighs) (sniffles) I know. (Sighs) (sighs) (sniffles) Gretchen, hi. (Sighs) this is Brooke. I was wondering if you could bring my horse down to the beach for me. Oh... (sighs) thanks. I'll see you in a-- in a little while.

Rick: You're going horseback riding?

Brooke: Yes.

Rick: You want some company?

Brooke: Oh, honey, no. No, I-I-I really need to be by myself anyway. Thank you for the support. (Sighs)

Rick: (Grunts)

Nick: Hey, you want me to grab Jack? About ready to head over to Brooke's?

Katie: No, we're--we're not going to Brooke's.

Nick: I thought we were supposed to go over there.

Katie: Something's happened. Something's going on with Brooke and Ridge, and it's not good.

(Doorbell rings)

Rick: (Sighs) (grunts)

Stephanie: Your mother home?

Rick: No.

Stephanie: How is she?

Rick: (Sighs) Won't you come in? She's upset.

Stephanie: What's going on? I-I sense that there's some trouble between the two of them.

Rick: Oh, yeah, there's trouble.

Stephanie: Ridge said it has something to do with the podcast and what your mother said.

Rick: Stephanie, just leave it alone. Ridge walked out. My mom's upset. Isn't that what you wanted?

Stephanie: What have you done?

Rick: Don't worry about it. It's not about me, Stephanie.

Stephanie: I'll find out whatever it is one way or another.

Rick: I have done what you have wanted to do for decades. I have put a wedge between Ridge and Brooke. (Grunts)

Rick: Ridge and Brooke's relationship is officially on its last legs.

Stephanie: You little son of a bitch. You have been conning everybody-- your mother, your father, everybody.

(Waves crashing) (horse whinnies)

Stephanie: You've been faking this whole time.

Rick: I-I've not-- not been faking. I was and still am in an incredible amount of pain, emotionally and physically...

Stephanie: (Scoffs)

Rick: Because of your son.

Stephanie: But you're not paralyzed.

Rick: I was paralyzed up until the point where I left the hospital.

Stephanie: Why did you do this?

Rick: To buy some time, Stephanie, to get what you and I have always wanted-- Ridge and Brooke separated. Don't--look, I have spent my entire life watching a woman pine after a man who made her life miserable, and then the final straw was Taylor, and you and nobody else can-- can even fathom how much I love that woman, how much she meant to me.

Stephanie: What else have you done? I'm sure there's more.

Rick: Well, I wish I could tell you, Stephanie, but I'm very busy. I'm the president of a company now, so I have a lot of work to do.

Stephanie: You try and leave here, and I'll go to your father and Ridge so fast your head'll spin. Now you start talking.

Rick: All right, fine, I'll tell you, but if you breathe a word of this to anybody, Ridge and Brooke will have yet another one of their chaotic cycles.

Stephanie: What have you done?

Rick: I edited the podcast before it went to the internet.

Stephanie: I thought Jake did that.

Rick: No, Jake started to do that, but, um, he had to leave, so I finished the job. Look, there was a lot riding on my mom's words about Ridge, and Ridge had very high expectations. (Laughs)

Stephanie: You edited out what she said about Ridge on that podcast.

Rick: Well, Stephanie, it was garbage.

Stephanie: Garbage? (Scoffs) What, oh, and everything that she said about you-- handsome, wonderful, charming, brilliant-- that wasn't garbage, of course. You little sneaky bastard.

Rick: No, stop it. Stop it. As if you haven't pulled a few fast ones over the years to get my mom and--and Ridge separated. Well, now it's my turn. Your son is not gonna hurt my mother ever again. It's not happening.

Nick: I'm sure it's nothing serious, just a little fight.

Katie: Ridge walked out on her.

Nick: Walked out. I wonder if it had anything to do with Taylor.

Katie: Uh, no, I-I can't imagine that it did. I mean, they've been so happy together. They've had to endure so much. I can't believe something would tear them apart. They just can't split up. They have to stay together.

(Waves crashing) (seagulls calling)

Brooke: Today, I pledge to you my adoration under dark skies and clear, and like the sea... (sighs) I will embrace you and sustain you for as long as we both shall live. (Waves crashing) (water splashing) ( inspirational music playing )

Katie: Ridge and Brooke belong together. They can't be over.

Nick: What's really going on?

Katie: I don't know. Rick is living there, and a-apparently, he's forced Ridge to move out, and now Rick is president of Forrester Creations. I mean, that can't be easy on the two of them.

Nick: Yeah. So Forrester moved out.

Katie: Yeah, and I'm sure Rick isn't encouraging any visits. I mean, how do you plan a wedding when Brooke is so consumed with Rick's problems? This is nothing. You know, this--this-- they've gotten through worse. This is just a speed bump, that's it.

Nick: Well, Brooke is a mother first and foremost, so if Forrester challenges that, makes her choose between him and those kids...

Katie: You don't think they'll make it, do you?

Stephanie: You are your mother's son.

Rick: Thank you. I'll take that as a compliment.

Stephanie: And how long do you think you'll get away with this? They'll figure it out. You deleted--somebody deleted something from the-- from the podcast. They'll put it all together, and it'll lead right back to you.

Rick: No, that's impossible. I destroyed the evidence. There's no proof. My mom can say she was talking about Ridge, but Ridge heard what he heard.

Stephanie: Everybody heard what she said. What--why are you so determined to make her a liar in fro-- in his eyes?

Rick: (Sighs) Stephanie, listen, we can argue about this all day long, okay? You hate my mother. I hate Ridge. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. But we agree on one key issue-- together, Ridge and Brooke are a train wreck, but apart, they're great. I can have my mother back. You can have your precious Ridge back.

Stephanie: And Ridge and Taylor?

Rick: (Groans)

Stephanie: If they got together, are you going to destroy that relationship, too? Listen, if Taylor is foolish enough to take Ridge back, well, then that's her problem. All right. (Sighs) I have a memory, okay, of Ridge and my mom getting married on the beach when I was just a kid, and it was great. I thought it was gonna be forever, but I realized something growing up. There's no such thing as forever when it comes to Ridge. There's always some other woman waiting in the wings. I don't want my mother to go through that anymore. So think about it. If this works, my mother will be free of Ridge, and he will be free of her. How exciting is that?

(Waves crashing)

(Seagulls calling)

(Horse whinnies)

Ridge: Our love has been like the mountain above us. Over the years, it has been both drenched in sunlight and shrouded in fog.

Brooke: (Sighs)

Ridge: And though sometimes hidden, it's always been there, undeniable...

Brooke: (Sighs)

Ridge: And very strong.

(Seagulls calling)

Ridge: (Sniffles) I am the foundation you can build your future upon. My love for you

is as solid and enduring as this beautiful mountainside, and today I pledge

to shelter, to support and to encourage you for as long as we both shall live.

(Waves crashing)

Brooke: What happened, Ridge? I don't understand.

(Seagulls calling)

(Waves crashing)

Katie: You do think that Ridge and Brooke will be able to work through their problems, right? You know what? Forget I asked. Everything's gonna be fine.

Nick: I'm sure you're right.

Katie: I mean, they love each other. They--they are in love, just like we are.

Nick: Yes. I just hope Brooke's gonna be all right.

Katie: Yeah, me, too.

Stephanie: This is a house of cards that you've created.

Rick: But it doesn't have to be, Stephanie.

Stephanie: You want me to play in this game with you and keep this dirty, mean little secret.

Rick: Mean? You want to talk about mean, it's the way Ridge has treated everybody in his life, from me to Bridget...

Stephanie: Oh, for God's sakes. Get over that.

Rick: To my mom to my dad.

Stephanie: Obviously, you've got issues with Ridge, but it doesn't give you the right to lie and manipulate this. I'm not gonna have any part of it, no.

Rick: All right, fine, you don't want any part of it, you're out, but if you bust me, you're gonna have to deal with the consequences, and that's Ridge and my mom getting back together, and your little pipe dream about Ridge and Taylor reuniting their family is gonna go up in smoke.

Stephanie: Look, this is a matter of what's right and wrong, Rick.

Rick: We are almost there, Stephanie. Can't you see that? This woman that's come into your life and turned your family upside down-- you almost can have your life back, but my mom has to be out of the picture, and now she is.

(Waves crashing)

(Seagulls calling)

(Horse whinnies, gallops)

Ridge: Logan!
