Brooke: Honey, you really need to rest.
Rick: What I need is to know that Ridge is out of your life.
Brooke: That is not going to change this situation.
Rick: He pushed me off of a building, Mom. I could have been killed. I'm sorry, but I'll be damned if I let a man like that marry my mother.
Donna: Please tell me you are not buying this. Pam doesn't remember the last few months-- it's--it's an act.
Stephanie: It's not.
Eric: No, she just had brain surgery. That could easily explain the memory loss.
Donna: Or--or it's all part of her plan. She pretends not to remember, and she gets off scot-free.
Stephanie: Oh, Donna, stop it. She's not responsible for what she's done.
Donna: That doesn't change what she did.
Stephanie: Oh, my God.
Donna: Look, whether she remembers it or not, she needs to be punished. Please tell me you agree with me. Pam belongs behind bars.
Brooke: Ridge and I are engaged. We made a commitment to each other.
Rick: What about your commitment to me? To your son? Mom, where the hell do I fit in? I've been in this man's shadow my entire life. I've come in second to Ridge-- with you, with Dad. When does it end? What is it going to take, Mom?
Brooke: He didn't mean to hurt you, Rick.
Rick: Ohh, Mom, come on, can't you see he's got you paralyzed, too? When you're with him, you can't move. You're stuck in the same place. You're willing to pay any price for this man. I'm sorry. I cannot be a part of that any longer. I've lost too much to him. Look, I can't control keeping Ridge out of your life, but I can sure as hell control keeping him out of mine. Even if that means... (sighs) even if that means shutting you out.
Brooke: What are you saying?
Rick: I'm saying that if you walk out that door and you choose him... (sighs) don't come back.
Donna: Pam is a menace. If it were up to her, we would both be dead right now.
Stephanie: May I speak to you alone for a moment, please?
Donna: Do not let Stephanie sweep this under the rug. She may not remember, but I promise you, I will never forget.
Stephanie: This is what I'm concerned about-- Pam's treatment. She--she's not going to get the proper treatment in a prison. She has to be in a psychiatric hospital.
Stephanie: Now look, my mother-- my mother's flying in. She wants to take her back to Chicago and put her in a facility there. So that means you can't testify against her. And you have to get Donna to agree not to testify, because if neither one of you do, then I'm sure the district attorney's office will not prosecute the case. Eric, please, I don't want my sister to pay with the rest of her life for something that was beyond her control.
Rick: Son of a bitch.
Rick: (Moans) (door opens)
Rick: I don't want you here.
Rick: I guess your ears don't work any better than my legs do.
Taylor: I know I don't have any right after all the pain I've caused you. I know that.
Taylor: But I do still care.
Rick: (Sighs) You want to pity someone? Pity Ridge. I'm gonna spend the rest of my life in a wheelchair, and he put me in this situation. He's gotta live with that.
Rick: He's a loser, Taylor. I have no idea in hell what you and my mom see in this man. I don't get it. But right now my eyes are wide open. I see everything. I see that I was just a crutch for you, somebody to build you up so you could make a play for the man you really wanted. (Moans)
Rick: You needed to regain your confidence, and I was there to help you do that.
Taylor: Yes, you did. You did. That's why I feel so terrible about this.
Rick: Taylor, you walked out on the best thing that ever happened to you. We had something real, something good. And you left. For what?
Rick: For what?!
Ridge: Hey. How's Rick? Any word on his prognosis?
Brooke: He wants me to leave you, Ridge. And if I don't, there's no place for me in his life.
Donna: Unbelievable. Stephanie got to you.
Eric: Honey, the brain surgery was real. Now the tissue they removed from her brain is being biopsied as we speak.
Donna: It's irrelevant.
Stephanie: You have absolutely no compassion, do you? My sister could have cancer, and all you can do is think about getting back at her.
Donna: The woman tied me to a chair and--and turned a bear loose on me.
Eric: Look, I think we can all agree that that was irrational behavior. I-I--but if it was caused by a brain tumor, then Pam can hardly be held responsible for it. Now look, I'm not gonna testify against Pam, and I'm asking you not to either. Pam is no longer a threat. You saw her. She's no longer a threat.
Donna: I'm sorry. I-I don't believe it. Eric, I am sorry. I know your heart is in the right place, but I can't let this go. I won't.
Ann: I still can't believe it. An old brain injury.
Stephanie: I know. And--and she absolutely remembers nothing these past few months.
Ann: Well, that's a blessing. We're never asked to shoulder more than we can bear.
Stephanie: Mother, eventually, she's going to have to pay for everything that she's done. That's why it's so important we get the right treatment for her.
Eric: I saw the doctor on the elevator. He said to talk to you. What?
Stephanie: Oh, you mean they didn't tell you?
Stephanie: The biopsy came back negative. She has no cancer.
Eric: Oh, good. That's wonderful new. Good.
Ann: I'll give you two a moment. Let's have a chat, dear.
Donna: I have nothing to say to you.
Ann: Good. I don't enjoy being interrupted. I have been told you're determined to see my daughter imprisoned.
Donna: Where she belongs.
Ann: Pam is my baby, Donna. That--uh, my little girl has spent her entire life taking care of me. I will not let her be put in jail or in of those horrible state mental institutions. I'll take her to northwestern for evaluation. They'll determine the kind of help she needs. We'll--we'll get her transferred to a secure facility.
Donna: A country club with padded walls. Forget it. No.
Ann: She won't listen to me either.
Eric: Donna, please.
Stephanie: Donna, all we're asking for is just a little mercy.
Eric: The same consideration your family asked of Stephanie for your brother-- understanding, compassion. That's all.
Taylor: (Sighs) Talk to me, Rick.
Rick: Taylor, please, just go.
Rick: Get the hell out of here... now!
Taylor: Okay, fine. I'm going. I'll leave.
Taylor: I want you to know that... I will always care about you.
Rick: (Sighs heavily)
(Knock on door)
Rick: (Scoffs) Taylor, please, just get the hell-- hey.
Rick: (Sighs heavily)
Steffy: I heard what happened.
Rick: Yeah. I don't really know why I ever got involved with her in the first place. (Sniffles) I mean, there really is only one love of her life-- your father, the great and powerful Ridge Forrester.
Ridge: We'll get through this.
Brooke: (Sighs) Rick wants me to choose.
Ridge: He's asking too much. You'll be there for him. You're his mom. I know how much you love Rick. But he needs to realize that he's not your only responsibility here. We've made a commitment to... get our whole family together-- Hope, R.J. And now Jack. They're counting on us, too. Nothing's gonna stop our wedding, Logan. It's gonna happen. It's time.
Donna: I am not being cruel or unfair. What she did was horrendous.
Eric: What she did was horrendous. Nobody denies that, but we cannot ignore Pam's medical condition. Look, circumstances happened to your brother that changed him into a man you--you didn't recognize at all. How can you think that the same thing couldn't happen to Pam? We cannot allow her to be prosecuted. We can't. It's not the answer, not for anyone.
Donna: Fine. Take her to Chicago, and put her somewhere safe, and keep her there.
Stephanie: You made the right decision, Donna.
Ann: Oh, thank you. I think when you spread the wealth around,
Ann: You're not going to jail. You're going home with me.
Pam: No. Mother, I hurt people.
Ann: You weren't yourself. Everyone understands that. Eric and Donna are not going to testify against you.
Pam: What? Eric, really? Thank you, Eric. Thank you.
Stephanie: Pammy, just try and get some sleep now, okay? Pam, Pam, you've gotta get some sleep now, okay? Come on. She needs to rest.
Pam: Thank you.
Stephanie: Bye, sweetie.
Pam: Thank you.
(Cell phone rings)
Eric: It's gonna be all right.
Eric: Eric Forrester. Yes, I am. What is it? What? All right, I'll be right there. I gotta go.
Stephanie: Uh, okay. Um, Mother, I think we should find her doctors and discuss the transfer procedures, all right? I'm sure they're up here.
Pam: Donna. Donna, I'm sorry. I am so, so sorry.
Donna: Are you? Really?
Pam: Yes. I know you probably think that I'm evil. I don't blame you. Mother said that you're not gonna testify against me. Does that mean, Donna, that you--you might forgive me?
Pam: Please, Donna, please, because if you can't forgive me, I just couldn't bear it.
Pam: Bear it?
Steffy: Here, I got you some fresh water just in case you get thirsty.
Rick: You know you don't have to hang out here.
Steffy: I know. Actually, um, what you said about my mom and dad-- (sighs) are you sure?
Rick: What? That your mom is still worshipping at the altar of Ridge Forrester? Yeah, I'm positive.
Steffy: That's not what she told me.
Rick: Well, I don't know, Steffy. Maybe she's embarrassed. Look, your dad has always treated women like--like toys-- your mom, my mom. I've been living with this man's arrogance my entire life, and I'm sick of it. I can't stand it anymore. I'm gonna stop him.
Brooke: Your assistant said you just got back from the hospital.
Taylor: Yeah, I saw Rick.
Brooke: Haven't you hurt him enough, Taylor?
Taylor: I'm heartsick about what happened.
Brooke: Rick went after Ridge because of you.
Taylor: I know I played a part in this. I know if I hadn't gone and tried to end things, that he wouldn't be where he is right now.
Brooke: He wouldn't be where he is right now if you ended things when I begged you to. But you didn't listen to me. I knew that he wasn't the right person for you. And I didn't know you still had all these feelings for Ridge.
Brooke: How long were you going to wait, Taylor? Did you want to wait and see if Ridge was going to leave me once I took over as mother for Jack? Or I guess when that didn't work, you had to do something else. You had to incite an argument between Ridge and Rick.
Taylor: That is such a lie.
Brooke: My son is lying in a hospital bed because of you. You told Rick that you love him, that you're going to marry him, that he was the only man for you. You lied to him, Taylor.
Brooke: You lied to him. You lied to me.
Taylor: No, Brooke, I was honest with him. The minute I knew that I had some feelings for Ridge still, I-I-I ended the engagement.
Brooke: Oh, my God. You might as well have just thrown him off the building yourself. My son is paralyzed because of you, you and your sick obsession with Ridge. I blame this whole tragedy on you, Taylor. You hurt me in the past over and over again. But this-- what you have done to my son-- I will never forgive you for this. This is war.
