Donna: Go ahead, say it. I betrayed you. I'm so sorry, Stormy.

Storm: That's okay. It's okay. I mean, let's face it. Stephanie would have had this hanging over our heads for the rest of our lives. Ahh. She must think it's so strange for the way you guys have forgiven me for what I've done. She couldn't possibly understand the kind of love and trust that our family has.

Katie: We've gotta do something. We can't just sit and wait for Lt. Baker to come and put you behind bars for the rest of your life. We've gotta try to get through to Stephanie.

Brooke: There's no point in fighting Stephanie when she has her mind made up, Katie.

Katie: We have to try. I'm gonna talk to her myself.

Brooke: Katie...

Donna: (Sighing)

Nick: I like hearing you talk that way. You sound more like the woman that I fell in love with.

Taylor: Yeah, I just needed a lit-- you know, a few days to sort things out and get my head together, start exercising again, working out and eating better. I'm--I'm feeling much stronger.

Nick: You sound more at peace.

Taylor: That's all I want-- inner peace. I haven't had that in a long time. I'm just-- I'm just sorry that--

Nick: Sorry about what?

Taylor: I'm just-- I'm just sorry about the way things ended. I really believe you could have been the love of my life.

Donna: Katie's right. We can't just let Stephanie throw Storm in jail.

Brooke: What else is there for us to do at this point? I mean, the only hope that we have is that Lt. Baker doesn't believe Stephanie. She's changed her story so many times. Maybe he won't buy the fact that she's pointing her finger at Storm.

Storm: Look, I, uh-- I appreciate what you're both trying to do for me. I do, and I love you both for it. The last thing I want is to be separated from my sisters, but look, I felt all along that I should confess. And now it looks like the time has come for me to do that.

Donna: No. No, you can't just give up, Storm.

Storm: Look, hey, Donna, if I confess now, Stephanie is gonna lose all her power over us. She won't be able to dictate what we can or can't do. Do you understand that? This is the best thing for us, for our family, okay? (Whispers) hey.

Donna: (Sighing)

Stephanie: You know, this scandal doesn't affect just you and me and Donna. It has affected the business, the whole family. That phone has not stopped ringing. The press is in this kind of feeding frenzy, and the very thing that I wanted to avoid, any kind of a scandal because of you having this affair has happened.

Eric: You know, I understand how concerned you are about the press and what everybody's gonna think, but I told you before, I don't care about that. I love Donna, and I like who I am when I'm with her.

Stephanie: Oh, God, it's so obvious you don't give a damn about anybody but yourself.

Ridge: Mother, that's not what dad said.

Eric: No, you know, I haven't been the perfect husband, and I admit that. But you, you have never taken any responsibility for the problems in our marriage, and you lied to me from the very onset. And you know what I'm talking about.

Stephanie: Oh, for God sakes! Don't drag up ancient history now.

Eric: Okay, ancient history? We don't need to go back that far. Let's just say that it's happened so many times in our marriage, that I've absolutely lost count. You know, you stand there and talk about moral accountability. You know what you should do? You should just look in a mirror, Stephanie.

Stephanie: Eric, this whole mess is a result of your poor judgment.

Eric: No, it's a result of your poor judgment!

Stephanie: Oh. (Laughs)

Eric: And most of this is about you-- what you want and how you want things to turn out and how you can influence it for everybody.

Stephanie: (Sighs)

Eric: You don't care, you know, about the effect it has on anybody, how much it hurts them or anything, and that includes me and your own children.

Stephanie: You know, Eric, I've only tried to do what I thought was best for everyone.

Eric: Oh, there it is-- the old saw. Boy, I've heard that excuse years and years and years, and if you believe that, you're deluding yourself. Just once, just once, could I see some compassion from you, some sympathy for what's going on? Just once? You know, miracles do happen.

Katie: I'm sorry to interrupt. I need to talk with Stephanie, alone.

Ridge: You son of a bitch. What the hell are you doing here?

Brooke: Ridge, no. No! No!

Ridge: Get out of this house.

Brooke: No, don't. Don't do this! Stop it!

Ridge: Get out of this house! What the hell is he doing here?

Brooke: Just calm down.

Stephanie: Look, I appreciate that you have come here to speak on behalf of your brother, but, Katie, it's--it's not gonna make any difference.

Katie: I think I understand where you're coming from.

Stephanie: Do you?

Katie: Yes. I can understand what it must be like to lose someone to someone else. I can imagine how devastating that is, how it must play on your insecurities, make you feel less than, insignificant. Even for someone like you who's so strong and so smart, it must make you feel small.

Stephanie: That sounds like something my daughter Felicia would say, not one of you Logan girls.

Katie: Yeah, well, I happen to believe that the Forresters and the Logans have a lot more in common than what you think, like loyalty, compassion. My brother did a terrible, terrible thing, and in my head, I can totally understand why you would want to lock him up and throw away the key. In my head, I have a hard time defending him, but in my heart, he's just my brother. He's the person who was always there for me, cheering me on from the sidelines, building me up when I felt small, defending me, no matter what.

Stephanie: I see that you love him and that he's very dear to you, but this isn't going to change what I'm going to do.

Katie: (Sighs) you see, I just thought that you might be able to understand what it's like to grow up in a home that's less than ideal. For Storm, every day, he woke up wondering if the electricity might be cut off or how we were gonna pay the rent. And he must have been so angry, so resentful that he had to grow up so fast, that he had to be the parent. But you say to yourself, what do you do? You--you--you put one foot in front of the other. You make sacrifices because you're a survivor. Doesn't that sound familiar? From what I understand, your childhood was no picnic, either.

Stephanie: Well, well, this isn't about my childhood.

Katie: But you know what it's like to grow up angry, don't you? And to focus all that anger on one person, regardless of whether she deserves it. That kind of rage can make people do terrible things, and you know what I'm talking about, don't you? You have focused all your anger on Brooke for so many years. How many terrible things did it make you do?

Stephanie: What you say is true, and I do understand. Father/son relationships are very complex, and I know your brother has an enormous amount of rage where your father is concerned. But, Katie, is that an excuse to put a bullet in me?

Katie: I'm not trying to excuse him. I'm just try... you say you understand. This is about so much more than understanding. This is about compassion and forgiveness. My brother is not just someone who picked up a gun and pulled the trigger and should be punished. You can't make it that simple. Where is your compassion? You have to try and find that in yourself, Stephanie. You're human, and you've been hurt-- physically, emotionally-- and you're angry. But you can't let that anger take over. You have to try to find... (voice cracks) your heart. (Normal voice) don't do it for me. Don't--don't do it for my family. Don't even do it for Storm. Do it for yourself. Do it for yourself, or I promise you, you will live to regret it.

Nick: I'm glad you came by. It's good to see you doing so well. I left you messages, you know.

Taylor: Oh, I know. I-I'm sorry I didn't return the calls. I just wasn't really ready yet, and--just as long as I knew the baby was okay. But I did you send you a text to let you know I was all right.

Nick: Well, it's still hard not to worry about somebody that you love.

Taylor: That's very sweet of you.

Nick: You know, love doesn't die for me. It just... shifts and changes. When you care about somebody, it's always there. (Laughs) I guess that's part of my problem.

Taylor: And sometimes, you just can't let go. What will you do if Brooke marries Ridge?

Nick: I guess I'll just get over it.

Taylor: Okay. You know I only want what's best for you. I just want to see you happy.

Nick: I want the same thing for you. I'm just sorry you felt it couldn't be with me.

Ridge: You shot my mother, and you pinned it on your own father. What kind of a sick bastard are you?

Storm: You're right, and I plan on turning myself in.

Ridge: Good, because you've got no choice, Storm. You'll have plenty of time to think about what you've done as you rot behind bars.

Storm: (Laughs) you know, your mother isn't exactly innocent in all this, and you know what the hell I'm talking about. And now what she's doing to Donna... and after I confess, your mother's not gonna have any power over this family. Donna won't have to give up Eric, and that'll make it all worthwhile.

Eric: Hey.

Donna: (Sobbing) It's all over for Storm. Stephanie is gonna send him to prison for life.

Eric: (Sighs) Look, I'm sorry. I'm sorry nothing I said had any--any impact at all.

Donna: It's all my fault. May--maybe I should have never-- never told you that Stephanie was blackmailing me. Maybe I--maybe I should have just broken it off like she told me to do.

Eric: No. No. No. No. No, don't say that. I cannot imagine my life without you.

Donna: (Sobbing) God, I love you so much. (Sobs) but it kills me it's because of us that Storm's going to jail.

Eric: No. No, it's not because of us.

Donna: (Sighs)

Eric: (Sighs) Oh, God, look, honey, I know how much you love your brother, but he committed a serious crime here. And what we're gonna do is we will mount the strongest defense we possibly can. We'll do everything we can to protect him in court. Now he's already-- he's already seeing a psychiatrist. We'll tell the court, uh, about the pressure that he's been under. We'll talk to them about the difficult childhood he's had. We'll get your father and mother to come back. We'll do everything we can...

Donna: (Laughs)

Eric: To protect your brother, okay?

Donna: Thank you. Thank you. It means the world that you're willing to-- willing to defend my family.

Eric: Well, there's no guarantee that we're gonna succeed, but I can tell you one thing I know for sure. This is classic Stephanie. She hasn't changed, meddling and manipulating other people's lives. But it's done now, and we're free of her, all of us.

Donna: Yeah. Except-- except for my brother.

Eric: We're not sure that he's gonna go to prison. We're gonna try to keep him out, and who knows? Maybe we'll succeed.

Donna: Oh, honey bear.

Eric: Okay.

Donna: Honey bear, my world is just falling apart. But I feel so safe in your arms.

Eric: Oh, good. Good.

Donna: (Sighs)

Stephanie: Interesting conclusion you've drawn. I help your brother, show him compassion, and somehow I end up helping myself.

Katie: Think about it. Why was Eric so vulnerable to another woman? Hasn't he been crying out for your love, for your compassion for so many years? You can show it to him by showing it to my brother.

Stephanie: Your logic is rather self-serving.

Katie: Maybe this is an opportunity for you, Stephanie, an opportunity to change your life. These things don't come around all that often. Maybe this is a chance for you to do something really big, surprise people, surprise yourself. Maybe this is a chance for you to start healing those old wounds, letting go of some of that anger.

Stephanie: (Sighs) I'm sorry, Katie.

Katie: (Sighing)

Taylor: I just want you to know, you--you've been a wonderful husband. I-I never have thought anything less of you than that.

Nick: Well... well, I hope I did my best.

Taylor: It's just that I can't share you in my marriage. Do you understand what I'm trying to tell you? Do you understand?

Nick: I do understand.

Taylor: It's just that the stress was really driving me crazy, and I had to make a change.

Nick: I hope it's a change for the better.

Taylor: So far, it is, yeah. I think I'm feeling more like my old self.

Nick: That old self is the one who's closest to my heart and always will be.

Taylor: Maybe we are better off hanging out together not being married.

Nick: (Laughs)

Taylor: (Laughs)

Nick: Maybe so. (Sighs)

Taylor: Well, um, I'll go get my things. I'll just go up for the baby.

Nick: Always gotta say good night before you leave.

Taylor: Well, I've gotta get his things. I'm taking Jack with me.

Nick: What are you talking about?

Taylor: I'm taking him with me back... to my house.

Nick: You're not taking him anywhere.

Taylor: No, I'm not taking him, sweetheart. I-I'm taking my child home with me. That's all.

Nick: Taylor, you walked out on us.

Taylor: I walked out on you. I didn't walk out on my child.

Nick: When you left, you left both of us.

Taylor: Nick, I'm not leaving here without my baby.

Donna: I'm so sorry. Don't do this to yourself. I don't blame you for any of this. You, uh-- you take care of her for me, will you?

Eric: I will. I'll take care of all your sisters. You have my word. We'll put together the best team of defense lawyers for your case, too.

Storm: You're a good man, but, um, I did a horrible thing. This is the best way.

Lt. Baker: Hello, everyone. So what's this about, Mrs. Forrester?

Storm: Lt. Baker, Ió

Stephanie: Thank you for coming, Lieutenant.

Charlie: This is about the shooting, isn't it?

Stephanie: Yes, that's what I, uh, told your father on the phone.

Lt. Baker: Well, if you've got some new information about who shot you, now is the time to give it up.

Stephanie: Yeah. Justice is something that's very important to me. I just want to say one thing. The day that I got shot was probably-- that was probably the most frightening experience I've ever had in my life, because I thought, at that moment I was going to die. And the amazing thing is that that--that really haunts me every single day of my life. I didn't want it to come to this, but here we are.

Charlie: So are you we know who didn't shoot me. It wasn't Stephen Logan.

Charlie: Well, you said you didn't see the man.

Stephanie: I didn't, but I do know who pulled the trigger.

Lt. Baker: All right, Mrs. Forrester, out with it. Do you know who shot you, or don't you? I want to close this case, so if you know who did it, tell me. And if you're worried about repercussions, don't be, because we're gonna put them away for a very, very long time. So come on now, Mrs. Forrester. Who did this to you?
