Brooke: Good morning.

Ridge: Go away. I'm dreaming.

Brooke: About what?

Ridge: Found a lamp, rubbed it, and a genie came out. Granted me one wish.

Brooke: One wish? Stingy genie.

Ridge: It's okay. He knew exactly what I wanted. And you know what? I got it. That genie was for real. And you -- you, my love -- you're my dream come true.

Brooke: We wasted so much time, didn't we?

Ridge: I will never, ever, ever let you down again.

Brooke: I believe that. And you know why?

Ridge: Because you'll kill me if I do?

Brooke: Worse. Much worse. You take my word for it. Because you never gave up on us. And I thank you for that.

Ridge: I think I need to get going.

Brooke: Okay. The kids and I will be waiting here for you when you come home.

Ridge: That is music to my ears. You have no idea. I love you.

Brooke: I love you.

Eric: Our rights to use the Forrester name in the context of a fashion- oriented enterprise. Gone.

Sally: Whoa, wait a minute. Look at this. Look at this! That really brings back memories.

Felicia: I'll say. Careful, Daddy. This is really gonna take you back.

Eric: Oh, my god. Villa d'este. We put on one hell of a show that day, didn't we?

[Eric remembers]

Eric: That was one of your mother's and my greatest triumphs.

[Stephanie remembers]

Stephanie: I love you. I do.

Eric: Then, why can't you show it?

Taylor: Sorry about the delay.

Stephanie: Oh, no, that's all right. Fine.

Taylor: So, did you come here because you want to talk to me about nick taking over Forrester Creations?

Stephanie: Yes. Yes, well, yes and no. I mean, it was a lot of drama, as you can imagine.

Taylor: Well, yeah, losing your family company. That's a nightmare.

Stephanie: So, well -- look, it's something about me and the marriage.

Taylor: Well, this is my specialty. What can I do to help you?

Stephanie: I don't know. I just know that I'm scared to death and I don't know why.

[Knock on the door]

Brooke: Honey. How've you been?

Bridget: I'm okay.

Brooke: Yeah?

Bridget: Yeah, I just feel like, you know, maybe I wasn't meant to have children.

Brooke: No, that's not true. It's like what you told me, Mother Nature at work.

Bridget: Probably so, but you know, all this time, when I thought the baby was Nick's -- just -- I have to look at all the damage that was done. One stupid, very weak moment and your marriage is ruined, and we've lost the family company --

Brooke: Honey, you can't blame yourself for all of that.

Bridget: Oh, of course not. But I mean, shouldn't I? If I hadn't slept with nick that one time, your marriage wouldn't have been on the rocks, and Jackie wouldn't have needed to go over and tell Stephanie to back off. And Jackie would have never fallen off the railing --

Brooke: Oh, stop! I'm not going to let you do this to yourself. There were other forces at work. I guess Ridge and I were just meant to be together. And yes, I loved Nick. But it just didn't work out.

Bridget: So, you and Ridge are --

Brooke: Yeah.

Bridget: Mom, that's great. I know you never stopped loving him.

Brooke: And I know you never stopped loving Nick.

Nick: Trust me. We will make a lot of money working with the new Forrester Creations. So, let's just do things my way, okay? Make sure you get back to me after they call.

Donna: You look busy.

Nick: Sign this.

Donna: What is it?

Nick: It's an employment contract.

Donna: For who?

Nick: You.

Donna: As?

Nick: You want to go back to San Francisco and work as a waitress?

Donna: Nick, you're taking this tough-as-nails businessman thing a little far.

Nick: I'm sorry. Sign it.

[Eric remembers]

Eric: I've worked really hard for you and for this family and for this business. I've worked as hard for everybody else as I worked for myself. And I've tried to be a good father, and a good friend and a good husband, and I failed time after time. But, in spite of all that, I can look in the mirror every day and not hate the man I see. But you can't do that can you? You don't see that man, the same man that I do. You can't love that man.

Ridge: Hey, Dad -- you okay?

Eric: Yeah, I was just --

Ridge: Thinking about all the years we spent in this office -- this building. Working together, side by side. The fighting Forresters.

Eric: Fighting Forresters -- yeah that's us, all right.

Ridge: Want some good news?

Eric: Good news, yes, I'd like to hear that. I'm desperate for some good news.

Ridge: Brooke and I -- we're back together. And this time -- this time it's going to last.

Eric: Good, good I think that's -- I'm glad to hear it. At least somebody in this family has a healthy relationship.

Stephanie: When Eric sold that company yesterday to Marone, I know it made him feel as though he ripped it right of his own guts. It devastated him. What did I do? I berated him. I berated him because he didn't discuss it with me, and he did it without my permission.

Taylor: Well, I think we both know you have a fairly powerful need to be in control.

Stephanie: That's a very diplomatic way of saying it. I don't want to do that any more. It's exhausting, and it only alienates people.

Taylor: Change requires looking at your faults. And becoming aware of it, and it is a little frightening.

Stephanie: Yes, it is. I've been married a long, long time. He deserves better. You know, you think you know someone, but how can you when you don't even know yourself? So, let's get started.

Nick: You'll be the main model. I also want you to act as spokesperson when needed. I want you to talk to the manufacturers and designers on the line and what direction it's gonna take. You stood up for my mother against Stephanie, and that took a lot of guts. You're the kind of person I want on my team.

Donna: Where do I sign?

Bridget: Mom, I don't feel the way I used to about Nick. Yes, I loved him deeply, and I guess I always will. But he took our family company away. How could I ever be with a man or have feelings for a man that would do something like that.

Brooke: Honey, he was acting out of hurt and anger --

Bridget: Yeah, he was angry over losing you.

Brooke: Well, he'll get over it.

Bridget: I don't think so, mom. Not any time soon at least. And you know what, I'm just not playing second fiddle anymore.

Brooke: I know that you will do the right thing for you. I gotta go finish getting dressed.

Bridget: Okay. I love you, Mom.

Brooke: I love you, too.

[Bridget's cell phone rings]

Bridget: Hello?

Nick: Hi, it's me.

Bridget: What do you want?

Nick: Can you come over the house, please?

Bridget: For a minute.

Stephanie: Well, you know, Lake Forrest is one of those beautiful communities that everyone dreams of having there family grow up in. We had a lovely home. My mother took care of me and my sister, Pammy. She was one of those stay at home moms -- most women stayed home then. And a -- she was quite beautiful, impeccably dressed all the time. Her favorite song was "Que sera, sera." Whatever will be will be, you know. I think that describes the atmosphere around the house. And my dad was -- well he was very handsome, very successful, as you know. Let's see -- he worked. He was a two-martini at lunch fellow. I know you can't do that anymore these days. Let's see, what else -- oh, gosh sakes -- smoked a pipe. Hadn't thought about that. I loved the smell of that pipe. It was my father to me. Well you know, it's different than cigarettes, pipe smell. I loved that about that. Well, I could go on and on about this, what else can I say it was a -- a pretty perfect kind of growing up. We were kind of like a Norman Rockwell painting, I guess. Except for one thing -- my father always wanted a son.

Nick: That was fast.

Bridget: I move pretty quickly when I'm mad. How could you do this to my father?

Nick: Bridget --

Bridget: What do you want with a fashion house, Nick? Your behavior has been nothing but vengeful, nasty --

Nick: Wait a minute, hold it, hold it. Are you telling me I shouldn't have done what I did? That Stephanie shouldn't pay for what she did for what she did to my mother?

Bridget: Oh, please, Nick. This is about my mother.

Nick: Bridget, when you let me go, you told me that I had to learn for myself. Well, that's what I did. I learned that your mother will be obsessed with that man for the rest of her life. I was warned, but I didn't listen. But if I would have listened -- we'd still be together. And we still be trying to have that child that we wanted so badly --

Bridget: No, Nick.

Nick: I don't care what your family thinks -- you matter to me -- you matter to me.

Bridget: I should go.

Nick: Bridget -- I value your opinion. And I want your respect. I want to be in your life somehow, and I want you in mine.

Bridget: I can't.

Taylor: Those are pretty interesting details about your father.

Stephanie: Well I think most men want sons. You know, they don't want the sign over the company to say "Johnson & daughters." They want the son that they can pass the company to. Poor dad, all he got was me and Pammy. She was just a -- she was just a girly-girly kind of kid. And always in her -- she loved ballet, so she was always pirouetting around the house all the time in that little pink tutu. She was very delicate. I, on the other hand, he thought was tougher, so I was the one that got dragged out to the yard to play football. I was covered, I remember -- bruises on my arms and my chest from those -- god, he threw that like a bullet.

Taylor: Bruises? So he threw it pretty hard.

Stephanie: Yeah, but I learned to throw it back. And then you know, after dinner, my mother would, she'd always take Pam up first because Pam was the youngest. Give her her bath, get her tucked into bed. And that meant I could stay with my dad while he had his after dinner drink. I loved those times --

{ Stephanie remembers]

Stephanie: Dad? Will you read to me out of our book?

John: Not now, Stephanie. Finish your milk.

Stephanie: Just one chapter?

John: Too much work.

[Glass breaking]

John: Stephanie look what you've done!

Stephanie: I'm sorry Daddy. I'll dry it up.

John: How many times have I told you to be more careful?

Stephanie: It won't happen again. I promise.

John: You need to learn to be more careful, little lady.

Stephanie: Sorry, Daddy. I didn't mean to. I said I'm sorry. I'm sorry -- I'm sorry. I'm sorry.

Taylor: Stephanie? Stephanie? You okay?

Stephanie: Oh, I'm fine. Yeah.

Taylor: What were you thinking about just now? Did you remember something?

Stephanie: No, well, yes. I mean, I was remembering -- listen, my childhood was really no different than any other child's.
