Kristen: Isn't it beautiful?

Antonio: It's perfect.  (Thinking): Tony, you slept with a woman who had AIDS. You need to get tested... For yourself and for Kristen. You have a responsibility, Antonio. You must get a blood test!

Kristen: I don't know the last time that I felt this comfortable, content. Being here with you and the fireworks... I don't have a care in the world.

Amber: I just wish we had been more careful.

Friend: Who?

Amber:  Me and Deacon.

Friend: Amber, Bridget was eavesdropping. You couldn't have known that.

Amber: Yeah, but I knew she was going to come back into the house.

Friend: If you ask me, you did the kid a favor. She needed to find out about Deacon.

Amber: But I didn't want her to find out that way. She was devastated. And taking off in the car like that, she could have been killed.

Friend: But she wasn't and she's going to be fine.

Amber: Physically, yeah. But emotionally... She's a wreck. She was in love with Deacon. She really believed that he loved her too. The whole time he was after me.

Friend: That's not your fault.

Amber: Well, I didn't say it was. I just think it's sad.

Friend: Amber, she knows the truth. It's over. Isn't it?

Amber: Deacon's still in love with me.

Friend: So what? Can't do anything about it.

Amber: That's what I thought too, before he showed up at the hospital.

Friend:  He was there?

Amber: Yeah, he wanted to talk to Bridget.

Friend: Oh, you're kidding.

Amber: I wish I was. You know, Deacon hasn't given up on Bridget. He hasn't even changed his game plan. I just hope to God she doesn't fall for it.

Deacon: Bridget, I'm not asking you to forgive me. I just want you to listen to me, okay?

Bridget: I'm tired, Deacon, very tired.

Deacon: I know, baby. I'm sorry. The last thing I want to do is cause you any more pain but i just -- I can't leave with things so bad between us.

Bridget: There's nothing between us, there never was.

Deacon: Maybe not in the beginning, but now --

Bridget: Why are you doing this? You think I'm an idiot? I'm not going to listen to your lies.

Deacon: I'm trying to tell you the truth.

Bridget: Okay, fine. I don't want to hear it.

Deacon: Well, I have to say it, for me. And I don't expect you to believe it and maybe it's not going to make a doom bit of difference. But -- a damn bit of difference. But the truth; Bridget, I think you are an incredible woman. And I've really come to realize just how much I care about you.

Kristen: I love fireworks. They make me feel like a kid again. Do they do that for you? Tony?

Antonio: What?

Kristen: Did you like the fireworks?

Antonio: Uh, yeah, yeah, they were nice.

Kristen: Nice? Come on... Didn't you think it was romantic?

Antonio: Of course. Everything when I'm with you is romantic.

Kristen: You know, earlier when you told me that you loved me, were you saying it just because I said it to you?

Antonio: No. I've been wanting to that to you for a while now. Every time we were together, every time we hung up the phone. Life is short. Life is short and unpredictable. So if we're going to love, we should love now.

Kristen: I'll drink to that. So tell me... What did Ellen's doctor say? Did he solve some issues for you?

Antonio: Yeah. Yeah, he did.

Kristen: Well, great. No, it's all right, you go ahead and answer that and I'll go get us another bottle of wine. Cell phone ringing)

Cha: Hola, mate. Dear old friend. Tony, man, I am so sorry.

Antonio: I'm sorry? That's all you got to say to me?

Chad: So the doctor told you, right?

Antonio: What I want to know is why didn't you? Why didn't you, man? You're supposed to be my friend, Chad! How could you not tell me that your sister... Had AIDS?

Amber: I don't believe it. Deacon is still lying to her? And I know. It's absolutely absurd. He's telling her, I think I'm developing feelings for her. Who does I think he's kidding? He's been after me and her for months. You know, he would do anything to get close to us. And now he expects us to believe that Bridget is actually the woman he wants? I'm sorry, it's just not possible.

Friend: Oh, because he's in love with you?

Amber: Yes, hello, how many times do I have to say it?

Friend: Hey, don't get snappy with me just because you're jealous.

Amber: I am not jealous. I'm a happily married woman.

Friend: Who has sexual fantasies about Deacon? Oh, come on, admit it. You guys have chemistry.

Amber: We did. Did. For one weekend in Vegas.

Friend: One incredible weekend. Oh, Amber... You're crazy about the guy. How are you going to feel if Deacon's really developing feelings for Bridget?

Amber: The only thing Deacon feels for Bridget is pity.

Friend: Are you sure? What if there's more to it? Then all the attention he's been showering on you is going to go to Bridget. How is that going to make you feel?

Amber: I'll tell you...

Friend: You are going to miss Mr.. Wonderful chasing after you.

Bridget: You care about me?

Deacon: Yeah. I do.

Bridget: So, you tricked me into marrying you, use me to blackmail my family, totally betray me, and now that I've figured it all out, you suddenly care about me? What the hell is wrong with you? Why can't you just give up? Are you that obsessed with Amber?

Deacon: No, no, that's not what --

Bridget: Oh, don't say it, I know. This isn't about Amber, this has nothing to do with her.

Deacon: That's not what I was going to say.

Bridget: Oh, I'm sorry. Go ahead, do it like you rehearsed it. I don't want to throw you off.

Deacon: I didn't rehearse this, Bridget. I'm trying to be completely honest with you.

Bridget: Maybe you should try a little harder, because I'm not buying it. God... I must have been a fool to fall in love with a manipulative jerk like you.

Deacon: Sweetheart, no, no. I was the fool. The way that I treated you, i took you for granted. I broke your heart. And I took your innocence. And I hate myself for that. You deserve so much better than that. You deserve a real husband. Someone who appreciates you and who you can trust. The kind of man that I want to be.

Chad:  Tony, you've got to believe me. I didn't know. Nobody did. Until Ellen was diagnosed after the two of you broke up.

Antonio: Ellen really had no idea?

Chad:  No, not while she was dating you.  Oh, man. This is scary. I mean, she had had it for years and guess it's what finally put her over the edge. Man, you must be a nervous wreck.

Antonio: No, man, I'm fine.

Chad: Oh? So you've already been tested?

Antonio: I don't need to get tested. I don't have it.

Chad: What do you mean, you don't have it? How do you know?

Antonio: Look, I don't want to talk about this, all right? Kristen is on her way back out.

Chad: You haven't told Kristen?

Antonio: Tell her what, man? I'm perfectly healthy.

Chad: Tony listen to me... You have got to be tested. There's a definite chance that you are --

Antonio: I'm not, I'm not. You hear me, okay? Just drop it. I don't want to talk about this anymore.

Kristen: Here you go.

Antonio: Thank you.

Kristen: Tony, are you all right? Your hands are shaking.

Antonio: I'm fine. I'm fine.

Bridget: You want to be with me?

Deacon: We are still married.

Bridget: If you don't love me...

Deacon: Bridget, I feel like I'm just starting to get to know you. The amount of time we spent together, I was so busy wasting time playing games, so focused on chasing my dream that I couldn't even see what I had right in front of me. Everything a man could possibly want.

Bridget: Me?

Deacon: Yeah, you. Bridget, you are an incredible woman. And I do mean woman. Maybe your parents think that you're a little girl, but I know better.

Bridget: I don't want to talk about that. I don't even want to think about it.

Deacon: I can't stop thinking about it. You know that dinner that you made for me? It really was pretty incredible.

Bridget: The dinner?

Deacon: Yeah, the creamed beans and the Cornish game hen.

Bridget: But you hated that dinner.

Deacon: No, I loved that din ex-the fancy food, the beautiful china, the candles. You wanted everything to be so perfect. Do you know that nobody has ever wanted to make anything perfect for me? And that dinner should have been my wake-up call. I just wasn't ready. And as impressed as I was with it, I couldn't express it. I just -- I couldn't acknowledge it. It was like with everything that you did; it touched me and I had to fight harder and harder to ignore it. My feelings for Amber were my deepest secret. The feelings I buried for you run much deep.

Bridget: Deacon this, doesn't even make any sense. I heard you talking to Amber. You only married me so that you could be close to her and your son. You admitted it.

Deacon: And now I'm admitting I was wrong. I made a mistake and I want the chance to correct it.

Bridget: Why should I believe you? Maybe this is just another con. Maybe you're still trying to get Amber back.

Deacon: What can I do to prove this to you? Tell me. Do you want me to talk to your family? I'll talk to Rick. You want me to talk to Amber? I'll tell her everything that I've just said here. I'm done playing games. No more. If you give me another chance, I know that I could be the kind of husband that you would be proud of. And I will spend the rest of my life trying to make this up to you.

Bridget: Why would you do that?

Deacon: Because I'll never find another woman who's got more guts and more class and more integrity. And that's what I want in my life. And I want to be in your life.

Amber: Deacon, stop it. Leave her alone!

Deacon: Amber, this is a private conversation.

Amber: No, this is a con job. It's the same con you've been pulling on her for months and I won't let you do it again.

Deacon: Amber, this is not a con job. My feelings for Bridget, they're real.

Amber: Bridget, don't listen to him. Whatever he's saying to you, don't listen to him, okay, because it's not the truth.

Bridget: What are you doing here?

Amber: I came here to warn that you Deacon might try something like this. I just didn't know he would be here so soon.

Deacon: Amber, we're just talking.

Amber: Yeah, you know what? Bridget needs her rest right now. She doesn't need this.

Deacon: Yeah, you're right, she doesn't need this. But guess what? I do. I want you to know how sorry i am, for everything that's happened. This marriage -- this marriage was the closest thing that I've ever had to a real family, and I blew it.

Amber: What are you talking about? Your marriage was a lie! You want a family.

Deacon: For what? You abandoned me. You took my son and you left without a second thought.

Amber: I did not abandon you. I got married, okay? And I'm going to stay married. You better get that through your head.

Deacon: I have.

Amber: Then why are you here?

Deacon: I'm here to apologize. To the only person in my life who's ever truly cared about me, who I can really depend on.

Amber: Well, unfortunately, Bridget couldn't depend on you.

Deacon: That's right, up to now I've been a lousy husband. But guess what? I can change.

Amber: You can't change. You're never going to change. You can't just put a new spin on the same old lies and expect them to sound true.

Deacon: You want to hear something new? I quit. I'm done.

Amber: What? Deacon I've been banging my head against the wall for months and you've been telling me the same thing over and over again, that you're never going to leave Rick, right? Well, guess what? I'm done begging. I'm done, because real love, Amber, the kind of love that Bridget gives me, you shouldn't have to beg for it.

Amber: You're not -- you're not falling for this, are you? Oh, Bridget, come on. This guy, he lied to you at the alter and everything -- everything that your parents told you about him, it was all true! It was. I mean, you can't -- you can't believe this. Don't -- don't let him get you confused, okay?

Deacon: Look, I know this is hard for you but you're the one who is confused, Amber, because my feelings for Bridget are real. I'm moving on.

Amber: With an 18-year-old girl.

Deacon: No, no, I'm moving on with my wife. Someone who had the strength to stand up to her family, elope with me, never questioned her feelings, never hesitated for a moment but did what she felt was the right thing to do. Well, guess what? I know what the right thing to do is. And if Bridget will forgive me, I promise you, I'm determined to make this work.

Antonio: What should we toast to now? Love? Independence? To life.

Kristen: Do we have to toast?

Antonio: We have to toast. We just opened a brand new bottle.

Kristen: No more wine.

Antonio: Kristen... What are you doing?

Kristen: I told you I would have you in bed early tonight.

Antonio: Kristen... Shouldn't we talk about this?

Kristen: I know. I was so uneasy in Miami. It just didn't feel right.

Antonio: You weren't ready.

Kristen: No, no, I wasn't. But now... Now I know you love me.

Antonio: I do. I love you so much. I want you so badly, Kristen.

Kristen: I want you too. It's okay. Tony... Make love to me now.
