Tony: No, no. So she was here in this house?

Eric: Yes, she was, right after she made that movie about the photographer. What was that? And we had a little dinner party here.

Ridge: I was 12 years old, standing right up in that balcony when she walked in. I was up there, but my jaw was on the floor. That's how stunning she was.

Eric: And how unpredictable.

Thorne: Oh, God, yeah. Dad hired her to do a layout for us, sent her all the clothes. When we got the pictures back --

Eric: Well, she destroyed the entire collection, tore up every piece.

Kristen: What? You're kidding.

Eric: No, I'm not.

Tony: Well, she's much more than a model. She's an artist.

Eric: She was fired.

Ridge: And I still haven't forgiven you for that one.

Eric: I think it probably could have worked.

Brooke: I'm so excited that Kristen's staying.

Stephanie: It's wonderful, isn't it?

Brooke: I thought of offering her a job to lure her back, but I never thought of using a man.

Stephanie: Well, that would be a first. I'm not so sure that it's just Tony.

Brooke: Oh, I know. She wants to move back to be close to her family, but he may have had something to do with that.

Stephanie: Oh, I agree. I agree with you 100%.

Brooke: He's a smart man -- scoring points with his future mother-in-law.

Stephanie: Oh, come on. You're getting ahead yourself on that one.

Brooke: Oh, I'm not so sure. I mean, look at her. Have you ever seen her so happy?

Helen: Mrs. Forrester?

Stephanie: Yes, Helen? What is it?

Helen: My mother was just taken to the hospital.

Stephanie: What happened?

Helen: She slipped and fell. I must leave.

Stephanie: Of course. Don't worry about that. You go ahead.

Helen: But what about dinner?

Stephanie: No, no, don't worry about dinner. We'll take care of everything. You go, and call me when you get there and find out what's going on.

Helen: Thank you.

Eric: Stephanie, what's that? What's going on?

Stephanie: Oh, her mother fell, I guess, and they've just taken her to the hospital. She'll call when she gets there.

Thorne: Oh, my gosh.

Stephanie: Well, look. We'll call on the old plan B that we usually do, right? We'll call Cafe Russe and ask them if they can accommodate us.

Eric: Good, sounds like a good idea.

Kristen: Actually, Tony has a flight to catch in a few hours. We'd never get out of there on time.

Stephanie: Oh.

Eric: Hmm.

Thorne: Takeout from mannequins.

Stephanie: Oh, no, we can do better than that.

Tony: I think we can. Which way to your kitchen?

Kristen: This way.

Tony: Follow me.

Eric: All right, I think you better calm down.

Betsy: They're just talking, Bridget.

Bridget: I know. It's not like I think they're gonna jump each other right in front of me. I'm just -- I'm keeping my eyes peeled. If something's going on between them, I'll know.

Betsy: What if you don't see anything? Are you gonna keep driving yourself crazy?

Bridget: No, no. I'll let it go.

Betsy: Good, 'cause jealousy can really ruin a relationship.

[Bridget sighs]

Bridget: I want to believe in him, Betsy. I do. My whole family's telling me he's just using me. I need to be sure.

Amber: She's watching us.

Deacon: I know.

Amber: This is such a mess. You know, sooner or later, she's gonna find out her marriage is a joke.

Deacon: Not tonight.

Amber: How long are you gonna drag this out?

Deacon: Hey, come on. Look, I'm not the one hiding from my feelings here, but don't you even try and deny it with me, Amber. I know how bad you want me. Look, if you don't leave Rick, he's gonna wind up throwing you out anyway.

Amber: Well, if you're so sure, then why not let Bridget go now, hmm? This is so cruel.

Deacon: Look, I know what I'm doing to this girl, and I hate it.

Amber: Really? Before, you acted like it was no big deal.

Deacon: Yeah, well, that was a cop-out. I live with her. I know how deep she's in. When the time comes, I'm gonna sit her down, and I'm gonna just -- I'm gonna break it to her gently. But not tonight, not unless you're ready to walk away from Rick right now. Have it your way.

Amber: You know, this is not my -

Deacon: Hey, baby. Can I help you with anything?

Bridget: No, honey, take it easy.

Deacon: Thanks.

Amber: What about me?

Bridget: Well, I don't want to interrupt your conversation. It looked pretty serious.

Amber: No.

Deacon: We're just --

Amber: Well, we were --

Deacon: -- Talking about Eric.

Amber: Yeah, we were talking about when you were gonna get Eric next week. So what can I do?

Bridget: Follow me.

Amber: Okay.

Tony: Smells good?

Kristen: Mm, smells great.

Eric: I'll get these. Oh.

Thorne: That's great. I'll take these.

Tony: How's everything?

Thorne: Hey, good. You think these are gonna be enough?

Tony: Oh, man. That's going to be plenty, yeah. Stephanie?

Stephanie: Yes.

Tony: What are you doing?

Stephanie: Well, Helen didn't get to finish setting the table, so I'm going to.

Tony: For an army?

Ridge: Got enough food for an army, don't we?

Stephanie: Well, I mean, we're having salad, aren't we?

Tony: Well, I nominate Stephanie to do the dishes tonight.

[Everyone agreeing at once]

Stephanie: Okay, I get the hint. I get the hint. Paper plates and plastic knives and forks.

Tony: That's right.

Stephanie: You don't have to hit me over the head.

Brooke: Oh, oops! Oh, geez.

Eric: Oh, honey, I got them. I got them. I got them.

Brooke: Sorry.

Tony: Oh, wow. These are amazing!

Thorne: Mm-hmm.

Tony: Stephanie?

Stephanie: Yes.

Tony: From your garden?

Stephanie: Oh, yeah. Aren't they great?

Tony: I'm going to have to make you guys calabacitas con queso.

Kristen: "Calabacitas"? What's that?

Tony: Squash.

Brooke: I see. So they get "calabacitas" and we get squash." Why does everything sound so much better in Spanish?

Tony: Could you add the peppers, the tomatoes and the chili?

Kristen: All righty.

Tony: Stephanie, where's the tortillas?

Stephanie: Oh, in the pantry.

Kristen: Oh, it smells like heaven.

Thorne: Kristen's idea of heaven is having somebody else do the work.

Eric: There you go.

Ridge: Well, wait a minute. We're not going to rely on her to cook the dinner, are we?

Thorne: That's a good point.

Kristen: Hey. Hey, I -- I can cook. What? I make a mean omelet.

Ridge: "Mean" being the key word here.

Thorne: I was thinking "vicious."

Eric: Yeah, "felonious."

Ridge: "Diabolical" even.

Kristen: What? You guys, you love my omelets.

[They clear their throats]

Kristen: You -- I used to make one every Mother's Day. Remember, Mom?

Stephanie: Oh, yes, honey, and they were wonderful, no matter what they tell you.

Kristen: See?

Tony: Why don't you go help your mom with the avocado?

Kristen: All right.

Thorne: Yeah, I remember those omelets. You used to bribe us to eat them.

Stephanie: Oh, stop it.

Ridge: She didn't want to stifle her baby's budding creativity, did she?

Kristen: That's not true.

Eric: The fact is, Kristen used to cooked according to color. She would say, "this omelet needs a little more red," which might mean some tomatoes.

Ridge: Which would have been good.

Eric: Or strawberry jam.

Ridge: Which would have been very bad.

Thorne: Very, very bad.

Kristen: Oh, come on. I did not. I did -- I did?

Stephanie: Oh, honey. You were just blossoming, you know, with the knowledge of primary colors, and we wanted to encourage you. After all, you take after your father, and he needs encouragement all the time -- like you.

Eric: That's right.

Tony: So you were the first one to notice Kristen's talent?

Stephanie: Um, well, I guess -- yes, I guess so. I used to -- remember, I used to send her down after school on the weekdays to be with you and on the weekends so she could be with you when you were drawing and designing?

Eric: Yeah, you did. She was a better drawer than you.

Ridge: I had trouble staying inside the lines, as I recall.

Kristen: I thought you were just trying to get rid of me.

Stephanie: Oh, honey. Oh, sweetheart, no --

Kristen: Oh.

Stephanie: Oh, God, what have I done? Oh, I'm so sorry.

Kristen: Mother?!

Stephanie: I'm so sorry, sweetheart. That's funny. I got some guacamole on your face. I apologize.

Deacon: All right, homemade fries. I love these things.

Bridget: Well, they're easy.

Deacon: Oh, come on, kid. Take a compliment.

Bridget: Deacon, please don't call me "kid."

Deacon: I'm sorry. Hey, this is nothing compared to what she made last night. They were like these itty-bitty little birdy things.

Bridget: Cornish game hens.

Deacon: Right.

Amber: I could never figure out how to eat those things. They're like little pygmy chickens.

Bridget: That's exactly what Deacon called them.

Amber: Hmm, really? You know what? I probably just heard him say it.

Bridget: Or maybe you two just think alike. You have so much in common.

Deacon: They were great anyway. Really good.

Bridget: You didn't even like them.

Deacon: I did like them. I did. The problem was there just wasn't enough meat on them. They were so good. Just next time, just make twice as much.

Bridget: No, I don't think I'll be making those again.

Deacon: Why not? Come -- all right. I'll be the first to admit, I'm a little rough around the edges, but Bridget, if you don't straighten me out, who's going to? What, Amber? Are you kidding me? She's worse than I am. Please, give me another chance.

Bridget: If you really want me to.

Deacon: You see? Now, that's what I love about married life. My wife is so patient with me.

Brooke: You're eating more?

Thorne: It's good.

Stephanie: I know.

Kristen: Dad, more rice?

Eric: No, no, no. I'll be lucky to finish this.

Stephanie: Everything was delicious, Tony. Thank you.

Tony: Well, thank you. Thank all of us.

Ridge: So, Tony, where are you headed tonight?

Tony: Well, I'm taking the red eye to Miami. A friend of mine just passed away. I'm gonna make the funeral.

Eric: Oh, I'm sorry.

Kristen: Yeah, he found out at the press party.

Tony: Yeah, I'm gonna go down there and try to find out some answers.

Eric: Answers?

Kristen: Yeah, um, she died of a drug overdose.

Tony: Well, so they say.

Thorne: You don't believe it?

Tony: It's just hard to believe. It's not the Ellen I knew, and I knew her pretty well.

Stephanie: You mean, there's no explanation as to what happened?

Tony: It's a mystery.

Ridge: Are you saying you're suspecting foul play?

Tony: Well, that would hard to believe. Everybody loved her.

Kristen: Oh, speaking of that, we don't have much time to get you to the airport.

Tony: Okay, well, we'll go as soon as we get this all cleaned up.

Stephanie: Oh, no, no. No, no, you don't have to do anything.

Tony: Oh, no, really, I don't mind.

Stephanie: Oh, no, it usually is -- you're absolutely correct -- our custom that when a person is invited to our home for the very first time, he or she has to cook dinner, and then they have to clean every little dish possible, but we're gonna let you off the hook tonight.

Eric: You can go.

Tony: Well, guys, I had a great time, really. Thank you.

Eric: So did we, Tony. So did we.

Brooke: It was very nice meeting you.

Tony: It was a pleasure.

Thorne: Tony, thanks. It was a pleasure.

Tony: Thank you.

Thorne: All right.

Ridge: Hope we see you again.

Kristen: Wow, that's a first. My brother actually approves of my date.

Thorne: I guess you're gonna have to dump him now.

Kristen: No, but I will see him out.

Thorne: Well, that's the last we'll see of her.

Stephanie: Probably.

Ridge: Anything to get out of doing dishes, huh?

Tony: Again, thank you, and thank you.

Stephanie: Thank you.

Tony: Good-bye.

Stephanie: Drive careful.

Thorne: Have a safe flight.

Betsy: So Deacon, how do you like married life?

Deacon: Are you kidding me? What's not to love?

Bridget: The way my family treats you.

Deacon: All right, look. Everything they do, they're just doing with your best interests at heart.

Betsy: But so do you.

Deacon: Yeah, of course. Absolutely.

Bridget: The truth will come out in time. Everyone will see what kind of a person you really are.

Deacon: Yeah.

Bridget: That's what keeps me going. I mean, Amber, you know how close I am to my parents. It's been really hard hurting them like this. But I know in the end, it'll all be worth it. You're worth it.

Betsy: Well, I better get going. Dinner was great. Thank you.

Bridget: I'll walk you out.

Betsy: I don't know what you're talking about. He is so in love with you.

Bridget: It seems like it, doesn't it?

Betsy: Oh, totally.

Deacon: All right, they're gone. Amber, you've got to end this now! I can't take it anymore.

Kristen: They like you.

[Tony laughs]

Kristen: Oh, no, really. I mean, they really like you. I don't even know how to react, because this has never happened before.

Tony: Well then, just go with it.

Kristen: I think I will.

Tony: You mean that?

Kristen: Uh-oh. What did I just commit to?

Tony: Come with me.

Kristen: Come with you? What?

Tony: Tonight, to Miami. Come with me.

Eric: Well, I cannot get over the change in Kristen.

Ridge: Seems pretty relaxed, doesn't she?

Brooke: She's in love.

Thorne: She tell you that?

Brooke: No, it's obvious. When you're in love like that, you feel comfortable in your own skin.

Stephanie: Well, if Tony is responsible for it, all I can say is I hope he sticks around for a long time.

Kristen: Oh, it's -- it's not that I don't want to go.

Tony: Well then, what's the problem?

Kristen: Well, Tony, it's just -- I can't. It's too soon, and you're going to a funeral. That'd be a little inappropriate. But I'll miss you.

Tony: Two weeks ago, I didn't know who you were. Now I don't want you to leave my side.

Kristen: Well, I'm just a phone call away.

Tony: Well, there's only so much you can do over the phone.

Kristen: Well, I'm here now. You should take advantage.

Brooke: Oh, it was lovely.

Stephanie: It was a nice evening, yeah. Good night, honey.

Brooke: Bye-bye.

Stephanie: Give Taylor a kiss, and the kids.

Ridge: Okay.

Stephanie: Okay.

Stephanie: That was a wonderful evening.

Eric: Yeah, yeah.

Stephanie: What's wrong?

Eric: Oh, I was just -- just thinking about Bridget. I wish she could have been here with us.

Stephanie: I'm sorry, honey. She'll be home soon. Deacon can't keep this charade up forever.

Eric: No, but when Bridget finds out what kind of a monster she's married to, what's that going to do to her?

Amber: Don't even try to lay this on me, okay? Because I begged you not to hurt Bridget.

Deacon: I didn't have a choice, Amber. The Forresters took my son.

Amber: Yeah, so you feel completely justified in conning their daughter. It was wrong, Deacon. She was an innocent bystander. She never did anything to you.

Deacon: I know. I know. I never meant to hurt her. Bridget is such a sweetheart. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body, Amber. I've never met anyone like her, and that's not to say that she's some pushover, either. She can be a real hellcat in a fight. She stood up to her entire family for me. For me -- some loser who lives above a bar.

Amber: I tried to tell you.

Deacon: I know. All I could think about was my son. I used her like a tool. Like a -- like she wasn't even human, 'cause I thought I was never gonna see my son again, and I would have done anything. She could have been anyone. And you know how I rationalized this? I said, "Well, you know, she'll get over it. Let her take a little walk on the wild side. It'd be good for her."

Amber: Good for her? She was a virgin, Deacon. You know, that might not mean anything to you, but it meant a lot to her.

Deacon: Every time, it's like she gives me a little piece of her soul, and then she looks up at me with those big, innocent eyes. I don't know. I don't know. This whole thing was just supposed to be like a joke, you know? Just another way to stick it to her old man. I can't even look at myself in the mirror anymore. I -- it's like I feel like some kind of child molester.

Amber: So let her go.

Deacon: Yeah. Yeah, I'll just sit her down and break her heart into a million pieces.

Amber: The longer you wait, the worse it's gonna be.

Deacon: Yeah, for both of us.

Amber: No. No, I love my husband, Deacon, and you were just using Bridget. We both know that.

Deacon: Everybody knows it -- everybody but Bridget. God, that poor kid.
