Sharlene: Says, "Stand back. I do not know how big this thing is going to get." [Laughter] That is the best I can do.
Al: That is good enough.
Sharlene: You top it, Al. Whoa, what are you doing here?
Al: I got to talk to the deejay. I will be back.
John: Looks like you two were having a good time.
Sharlene: Gee, I did not expect to see you here tonight.
John: It does not look like it.
Sharlene: No, I mean, it is just you said when you got off duty that you were going to go home and crash.
John: Well, Ronnie was giving me some grief because I never come hear her sing, so I thought I would come by, catch the show, and then after you are off, I would take you home.
Sharlene: Sounds good.
Al: I just told Bobby what you said, Sharly.
Al: He needs oxygen he is laughing so hard.
John: What did he just call you?
Sharlene: It is nothing. It is a silly joke.
John: No, he called you Sharly. Why?
Sam: So what is wrong?
Sam: Matthew, if you want to talk, you can always talk to me.
Matt: I think Josie is pregnant.
Vicky: Welcome home.
Amanda: What are you doing in my office?
Vicky: I am the new editorial assistant
Vicky: You do not seem too happy about it, but I'm sure we can work it out. Can't we?
John: Your mother and I miss having you around.
Josie: Well, I've just--I've been pretty busy.
John: Oh, I see. Listen, I'll be off tomorrow, and Sharlene does not have any plans, at least I do not think she does. Why don't you come by for breakfast?
Josie: I--oh, I can't.
John: I would really appreciate it if you did.
Josie: Well, I'm sorry, John, but I already have plans.
John: For breakfast?
Josie: I have an early appointment, and I cannot miss it.
Sam: You think she is pregnant?
Matt: Yes, well, she did not tell me, but there has been a lot of strange things going on.
Sam: Ok, why don't you start from the beginning, Matt?
Matt: I overheard her on the phone with some doctor. She was making an appointment. She would not talk to me about it, so I followed her to the hospital. And I tried to get her to tell me, you know, why she was there, but she kept avoiding the issue.
Sam: Did you ask her?
Sam: Matt, you should ask her.
Matt: Well, I think she should tell me.
Sam: She probably thinks--she is probably afraid that once you find out you will leave her.
Matt: I would not do that.
Sam: Matt, let me ask you this. Are you two careful?
Matt: Yes. That is why this is such a surprise to me.
Sam: Then, Matt, maybe she's not pregnant.
Matt: Oh, come on, what else would it be?
Sam: I do not know. All right, if she is pregnant, do you know what you want to do?
Matt: Yes, I want the baby.
Sam: Are you sure?
Matt: Yes. Yes, I have thought about it a lot.
Sam: Are you ready to be a father?
Matt: Were you?
Sam: No, that is why I asked.
Matt: It is different for me.
Sam: I wonder if it is different for Josie.
Matt: Well, I do not know. She is not telling me anything. Obviously she is not ready for something like this if she has not talked to me.
Sam: You don't know that, Matt.
Matt: What I do know is that she needs my support right now.
Sam: Matthew, she might be considering dealing with this all on her own.
Matt: Why would she do that? We talk about everything. We love each other.
Sam: She is young, man. She has got a career that she's--
Matt: I cannot believe-I cannot believe that she does not trust me enough to tell me about--
Sam: Matt, getting angry is not a solution.
Matt: I do not know what to do.
Sam: You ask her. And if she is pregnant, then you talk to her about the way she feels.
Matt: We will get married.
Sam: Oh, man, you should wait.
Matt: What? We were going to get married anyway. We might as well move it up a few years.
Sam: Matt, you should really think about this.
Matt: It is what you did.
Sam: Yeah, I know.
Matt: And you never regretted it, did you?
Sam: No. But it has been hard to deal with.
Matt: Well, you--you would not trade Alli or Amanda for anything.
Sam: No, Matt, Matt--but listen to me, ok? This has been the hardest thing that I have ever done in my life. I'm still dealing with it every day.
Matt: Yeah, but it is worth it, right?
Sam: Yes, it is worth it for me. I cannot say the same thing for you or for Josie. I will tell you something else. Having a baby raises the stakes. No matter what problems you might have, having a baby makes it all worse..
Matt: Now you sound pretty grim.
Sam: Matt, I have to be realistic. For quite a while now I have been wondering whether or not my marriage is going to last, and what that could do to my daughter.
Matt: But it is going to last. Amanda did not just throw away her marriage, and that is because you have Alli, right?
Sam: Yes--partly. But no matter what happens now or 30 years from now, we will always have that child between us. No matter what happens.
Amanda: Who gave you permission to do anything in my office?
Amanda: I do not believe this. You are officially working at this magazine?
Vicky: Nifty, isn't it?
Amanda: Get away from my desk, Vicky.
Vicky: Oh, oh, ok, sure. But since we are working together now, I would really appreciate it if you did not talk to me like one of the servants of the compound.
Amanda: Let us get something straight. We are not working together. We may be working in the same building.
Vicky: I--I--I'm sorry. Excuse me, but if you have a problem with my job description, Ms. Wheeler can be reached at her home this evening.
Amanda: Oh, I will be calling her, don't you worry. This is my magazine.
Vicky: Correction: This is Iris's magazine.
Amanda: I am the publisher.
Vicky: And you have been incommunicado for about a week. I'm surprised they let you in the front door.
Amanda: What do you want?
Vicky: I want to work for a successful magazine, and I want to feel that my being here makes it that way.
Amanda: Is that all?
Vicky: What could be better than the pursuit of journalistic excellence?
Amanda: Iris is not going to get away with this.
Vicky: Oh, I--I don't know if you want to talk to her right now. She's not too thrilled with you at the moment.
Amanda: I really could not care less.
Vicky: Well, if she demands to know why you left town, I'm not sure you want me in the same room with you when you give her the answer.
Amanda: I think I would prefer to take care of that in the morning.
Vicky: How does Sam feel about your little vacation?
Amanda: I will not discuss my personal life with you. Not now, not ever. Is that clear?
Vicky: Clearer than you know.
Al: This place is going to be packed in a couple of hours, and we're two waitresses short. Sharly?
Al: Go hang out with your family. I will mind the store if anyone comes in.
Sharlene: No, I will stay here for a minute.
Josie: Matthew should be here by now.
John: Why don't you give him a call?
Josie: I think I will.
Sharlene: Hey, you. I have an idea.
John: You do?
John: Oh, I can tell you do.
Sharlene: Why don't you go home and light a fire, and I will get there as soon as I can.
John: No, I will just wait around here for you.
Sharlene: I really cannot spend any time with you here.
John: It is ok. I will stay here and ogle the girls.
Sharlene: Come on, don't you want to go home and relax. You must be tired.
John: Are you trying to get rid of me?
Sharlene: No, I do not want to do that.
Josie: Hey, I was getting a little worried about you.
Matt: Josie, I--
Josie: Matthew, you're not going to believe what happened today. An advertising-tising--I cannot even talk I'm so excited about it. An advertising agency called Lucas today and they want to set up an interview with me.
Matt: Ok, ok, this is important. I have to talk to you about something..
Josie: Well, what is wrong?
Matt: We have to talk about our future.
Michael: Jake, don't you have something to do right now?
Donna: Jake is welcome in my home.
Michael: Yeah, but I would like to speak to my wife alone, if you don't mind.
Donna: You cannot come in here and order my guest--
Michael: This is my home, too, Donna.
Donna: No, no, it is not anymore.
Jake: Donna, it's all right. I have to go see Vicky tonight anyway.
Michael: Why is it, Jake, that the only women in the world that seem to hold any appeal to you happen to be in my family?
Donna: Michael, that is enough.
Jake: You going to be all right tonight?
Donna: I will be fine.
Jake: I will give you a call later.
Donna: Say hello to Victoria.
Jake: I always do.
Michael: Do you want to tell me just what in the hell has gotten into you?
Donna: If you're going to stand there and scold me like you're my father, I will choose some other form of torture for me.
Michael: I should not have to say a word. You know you cannot trust that guy.
Donna: You said you wanted to speak to me alone.
Michael: You're right. I do, I do. You got coffee?
Michael: Ah, come on, can Angela make us some?
Donna: Angela is not here. What do you want, Michael?
Michael: All right. You said before that you thought this divorce was just going to go right on through without a hitch, right?
Donna: That is correct.
Michael: Well, I'm telling you that it is not.
Michael: If you insist on going through with this divorce, I will contest it, Donna.
Donna: You wouldn't dare.
Michael: Do not try me. Yes, I would.
Donna: Why are you doing this?
Michael: Because I do not want us to make a big mistake.
Donna: Are you saying that you want to get back together?
Amanda: I'm not sure that I understand what you mean.
Vicky: Nothing. Really, nothing at all. I just know you have had some personal problems lately. I hope you have worked them all out.
[Knock on door] Come in. Evan! Well, look who is back.
Evan: I know. We have spoken.
Vicky: Surprise, surprise.
Amanda: You can give me the circulation figures in the morning.
Vicky: I think we are all going to make just a dynamite team, don't you?
Amanda: Evan will not be working at "Sophisticate" that much longer. He has many other responsibilities that take up his time.
Vicky: Oh, I-I thought--
Evan: Vicky, would you be kind enough to leave us alone for a moment, please?
Vicky: Well, actually, I have some ideas--
Evan: Leave, please.
Vicky: I was just going.
Vicky: You have a fabulous evening, you two.
Amanda: Did you follow me here?
Evan: Look, we have not finished talking.
Amanda: Oh, yes, we have.
Evan: Are you just going to go back to Sam? Look, that night you spent with me, that did not mean anything to you?
Amanda: I need to be with my husband. My life is with him and Alli.
Evan: Ok. Then why did you make love to me?
Amanda: I told you before it was a mistake.
Evan: Just tell me. What did Sam say to you? What did he do to you?
Amanda: It does not matter what he said to me. It is over, ok? It has to be.
Josie: So, the tour has been put on hold, but Lucas seems to feel that we should be going on tour--
Matt: I cannot believe you're doing this.
Josie: Doing what?
Matt: Talking about your job. I told you when I came in this evening that I had something very important to talk to you about.
Josie: And then we sat down and all you did was stare at me. Matthew, you have not said a word yet.
Matt: It is kind of hard for me.
Josie: You know you can tell me anything.
Matt: Do you feel the same way about me?
Josie: You know I do.
Matt: Amanda is back.
Josie: That is great.
Matt: Sam says everything is pretty good.
Josie: You talked to him?
Matt: Uh-huh. He also said that Alli made them realize how much they had to lose.
Josie: I bet.
Matt: I really love having kids around the house.
Josie: Yeah, kids are great... as long as you don't have to take care of them yourself.
Matt: Is that how you feel?
Josie: Matthew, what is wrong?
Matt: I was hoping you would tell me.
Josie: I'm fine.
Matt: Josie, I cannot wait to have my own kids.
Matt: What do you mean?
Josie: When I used to baby-sit a lot, all I could think about was how much I wanted to have a baby of my own.
Matt: And you feel different now?
Josie: Don't get me wrong. I want to have children, just not in this century. I have got too much stuff to do.
Josie: Yes. I used to worry that I would never have a real job or be good enough to do anything that would allow me to support myself, but now I know I was wrong. I have no intention of sacrificing that until I have done everything it is I want to do.
Matt: Wait. Is that how you see kids, as a sacrifice?
Josie: Now? Definitely.
Sharlene: Do you know that I am much too young and pretty to have a nephew as big and good looking as you.
Evan: Well, may I have a table?
Sharlene: What is with you?
Evan: Oh, like you don't know.
Sharlene: We were getting along fine this afternoon.
Evan: That is because last time I was in here you weren't giving me a hard time.
Evan: Sharlene, I thought you knew how serious I am about Amanda.
Sharlene: I do.
Evan: Yeah, right. So how do you explain the visit to my apartment this afternoon?
Sharlene: Oh, well--
Evan: Yeah, you come over there and you made me out to be like some home wrecker.
Sharlene: Look, I only meant that I wanted you to look at both sides of this thing.
Evan: Yeah, well, you are not making any sense, Sharlene. One minute you tell me to go for it, the next you're shoving it down my throat.
Sharlene: You don't--you don' understand.
Evan: You are damn right I do not understand.
Sharlene: Would you--
John: Hi, Evan.
John: You look like you're having a very intense conversation. What is up?
Amanda: Hey, I thought you would still be awake. Do you know how much I missed you? Daddy told me he had you sleeping in here because you were crying for me. I'm sorry. Everything is going to be all right now. I'm never going to leave you again. Daddy is going to be here every day. Just like he used to be. I'll never hurt you. We are going to be happy... all of us.
Donna: Are you suggesting that we get back together?
Michael: No. I mean, not exactly, no.
Donna: Well, what exactly are you suggesting?
Michael: I was hoping maybe that we could just make this process as painless as possible.
Donna: Oh, I see. Well, divorce is not a painless process.
Michael: I know that. I was just hoping that maybe we can make it a little easier on each other.
Donna: You are unbelievable.
Michael: I'm trying to help.
Donna: You're not making any sense.
Michael: Well, you're kind of being stubborn, you know, maybe you're not hearing--
Donna: I'm trying to get on with my life. I shaped my whole world around you. I have to start all over again now. Everything I believed about you, you told me was a lie. That's fine, fine. It is all right, so why don't you let me move on?
Michael: Come on, Donna, really, please. I'm just asking for a couple more weeks.
Donna: What difference would it make? You said you were through with me. It has taken me this long to accept it. I have never been through anything so painful in my whole life. And I do not know if I could make it if I had to go through it again.
Michael: Donna, please.
Donna: Is there any part of you that still cares about me, but just a little?
Donna: Well, would you do something for me then? Leave me alone.
Donna: Please, get out of this house and do not ever come back again. If you want to see your son, make sure that I'm not here when you come over.. I cannot take this anymore, Michael. I will not take this anymore. You may not think I matter to anybody, but I do. I matter to me. [Sobbing]
John: Am I interrupting?
Evan: No, no, John.
Al: I need you in the back, sharply. Sorry, guys.
John: That is all right, Al. Go on.
John: I did not mean to pry.
Evan: No, you're not. I'm just--I'm just in a lousy mood, that's all.
John: Well, come on, I'll buy you a drink.
John: Sit down. Can we get a drink here, please.
Evan: Let me get a shot of tequila. John, is everything all right with Sharlene?
John: What do you mean?
Evan: Well, something really strange happened today.
John: With Sharlene?
Evan: Yes, I'm having this personal problem. It is about a woman, and I told Sharlene about it.
Evan: It is a little more complicated than that, you see. This woman is married.
John: Ah, ok.
Evan: But listen, I love her. I ended up telling Sharlene all about it.. She was very supportive.
John: Sharlene was?
Evan: Yes. She said she understood. Go for it. Did not even question it.
John: That--that is unusual.
Evan: Well, I admit to you that I was quite surprised how open she was about it. Didn't even question it, didn't say anything. That is really not what is bothering me.
John: Then what is?
Evan: A couple of hours later she comes over to my apartment.
Evan: Well, I left my briefcase here, so she brought it back to me. So I told her, I said, "thanks for what you told me today." She started saying, "you're crazy. You're going to ruin your life and that woman's marriage."
John: That does not make any sense.
Evan: So tonight when you saw us talking, I called her on it. She says, "oh, what I was trying to do was give you two opinions, see? Play the devil's advocate." But that is not it. She played it off like it was no big deal. I just cannot stop thinking about it. John, Sharlene is the only family that I ever really had. And right now, I just feel like I don't know who she is. I have got to make a phone call. Excuse me.
Josie: I love this song.
Matt: Josie, I think we should lay our cards--
Josie: Matthew, dance with me.
Matt: No, I really don't feel like it.
Josie: Come on, please.
Matt: I thought we were having a discussion here, pretty important.
Josie: Matthew, we can always talk. Let's have some fun. Come on.
Sharlene: Right this way.
Vicky: Oh, sure.
Sharlene: Here you go, guys.
Vicky: Thank you.
Sharlene: Yeah, here, enjoy your evening.
Vicky: Friendly, isn't she?
Jake: Even nice people have bad nights.
Vicky: That's a comforting thought.
Jake: I am glad you decided to go out with me tonight.
Vicky: I needed it.
Jake: Oh, did Vicky have a rough day at work?
Vicky: She wouldn't have if the boss decided to stay out of town.
Jake: So tell me, what does Amanda think of having to work with you?
Vicky: Mm, I don't think she ever recovered from finding me sitting in her chair, actually.
Jake: You did not sit in her chair, did you?
Vicky: I sat in her chair and it drove her crazy. It was so great. I am so good at that.
Jake: I know.
Vicky: You know?
Jake: Look what the cat drug in.
Vicky: Well, what do you know?
Jake: He does not look happy.
Vicky: And I think I know why.
Sharlene: John, let's go.
John: Let's go--what do you mean? I thought you said you had to work late.
Sharlene: I did--I did, but I told Al I was tired, and he said go on, get out.
John: Are you ok?
Sharlene: Yes, I'm fine. Can we please just go.
John: Yeah, yeah, all right. Evan, it was good to see you again.
Evan: Hey, John, thanks for the drink.
Sharlene: I've got my coat out front.
John: Don't you think we ought to let Josie know that we are leaving?
Sharlene: No, uh-uh, she has got Matt here. She is fine. Bye, Evan.
Evan: So long. Boy, I would know that perfume anywhere--eau de trouble..
Vicky: Look at me, Evan.
Vicky: Amanda went back to Sam, didn't she?
Evan: Can I have another shot, please?
Sam: Alli is out like a light.
Amanda: I was just hoping that she could have stayed in here so I could see her if I woke up in the middle of the night.
Sam: So, it has been awhile since we have been in this room together alone.
Amanda: Yeah, it has.
Sam: You nervous?
Amanda: A little.
Sam: It has been a while.
Amanda: I know.
Sam: It is kind of exciting, though, if you think about it. You know, it is like the first time.
Sam: Are you upset?
Amanda: No, no.
Sam: It is going to be ok. It is going to be ok for us-- different, different and better. I love you so much. This is the first time
Sam: You look beautiful.
Vicky: Not talking?
Evan: I do not feel like talking.
Vicky: What happened with Amanda?
Evan: I've had enough talking for one day.
Vicky: What happened?
Evan: Not a blessed thing.
Evan: Vicky, would it be too much to ask if I could be left alone?
Vicky: All right. I know you don't want to tell me what happened, but it does not take Dr. Ruth to figure it out.
Evan: Then drop it.
Vicky: Evan, I warned you about this.
Evan: Oh, your kindness is overwhelming.
Vicky: What, did she decide she could not do it to her kid, or did Rachel call and give her an earful.
Evan: You just cannot take a hint, can you?
Vicky: I told you this was going to happen. You did not listen to me.
Evan: Would you shut up, Vicky?
Vicky: I am trying to be your friend.
Evan: Good, then leave.
Vicky: I know this hurts.
Evan: Yeah, you do not have a clue.
Vicky: Let me help you. Amanda is not alone right now, you can bet on that. Why should you be alone? Look, you never gave up on me in Lassiter. I did not want to hear a word of what you had to say, but when I did, I realized you were telling the truth because you cared about me.
Evan: Yeah, well, this is different.
Vicky: No, it is not. It is not different, not really. I wanted to hide away with Steven just as much as you want to be with Amanda. But it was wrong, Evan, for Steven and for me. And this is wrong for you.
Evan: No, Vicky, I want her in my life.
Vicky: And she wants to be with Sam. You have got to let this go. You have to forget that you two ever got as close as you did. It should not have happened, Evan. Now it is over.
Evan: No, it is not over, Vicky. I do not care what anybody says.
Josie: Matthew, what is wrong?
Matt: Listen, I do not want to be here.
Josie: Why not?
Matt: Because this is not working.
Josie: Matthew, what are you talking about?
Matt: Us talking.
Josie: We have been talking all night.
Matt: Listen, isn't--isn't there something you want to tell me?
Josie: I did not tell you how much I love you today, did I?
Josie: I do, you know that.
Josie: Can we please try to have a good time tonight?
Josie: Come on, let's dance.
Vicky: Stubborn, bullheaded, pompous--
Jake: Vicky, relax.
Vicky: Do you know what he's doing?
Vicky: Amanda decided to go back to Sam. He thinks he can still get her back. Isn't that crazy?
Jake: Well, maybe he really cares about her.
Vicky: Cares my--he is a martyr, or he is just completely blind.
Jake: Maybe she is sending him mixed signals and he--
Vicky: Does he need a bigger hint? Maybe if a ton of bricks dropped on his head then he would face reality a little more.
Jake: Vicky, Vicky?
Jake: Do we have to spend this entire evening discussing Evan Bates' love life?
Vicky: I hope not.
Jake: 'Cause pouting is not high on my list of things I--
Vicky: Pouting, I am not pouting. I am acting out.
Jake: Do you want to leave?
Vicky: No. We're here to have fun. Let's have fun.
Jake: Great. Let's go dance. Come on.
Vicky: I have got new shoes on my feet, and they hurt.
Jake: All right, let's order some food. We'll have a little buffalo wings--
Vicky: I'm not hungry.
Jake: You're not hungry. We're really in trouble. Are you falling for this guy, or what?
Vicky: Or what.
Jake: Well, if you cannot tell me about your love life, who can you tell?
Vicky: What about you?
Jake: What about me?
Vicky: When was the last time--
Jake: That is none of your business.
Vicky: Boy, you have a one-track mind. I was just asking you if you were seeing anybody.
Jake: Not really.
Vicky: Not really. Oh, that means you're seeing 3 women instead of 5?
Jake: Oh, you give me much too much credit. Trust me.
Vicky: I know you, Jake. I know you.
Jake: I am not seeing anyone.
Vicky: You're holding out on me.
Jake: I am not.
Vicky: Are, too.
Jake: Vicky, this is my first date in weeks. It has got to be weeks.
Vicky: Oh, poor boy. Oh, no.
Vicky: No, don't you go getting any ideas about me just because we happen to be on this date-- sort of date.
Jake: I would rather stick needles in my eyeballs.
Vicky: Oh, thank you. That is very sweet.
Jake: No, Vic, we have never been better friends. We have never gotten along better than we are now. Why would I risk all that for one night of incredible passion with a sexual dynamo?
Vicky: My thoughts exactly.
Jake: Glad we understand each other.
Vicky: There is one thing, though.
Jake: What's that?
Vicky: Please tell me why the two of us are living our lives single.
Jake: It is not my decision to be single, Vicky.
Vicky: I--no, I did not mean it that way. Ok, for instance--
Vicky: ...The old me would have been planning some dastardly deed or setting up a trap to lure Evan to my lair.
Jake: To lure him into your lair?
Vicky: But instead I am sitting here pining over him.
Jake: Are you falling in love with this guy?
Vicky: Are you going to tell me who you are seeing?
Jake: I repeat, I am not seeing anyone.
Vicky: But you want to be. That is it, isn't it? She just does not know yet, does she? Oh, that is it. Who is she? Tell me, tell me, tell me. What?
Jake: You don't know her.
Vicky: Ah, I was right. Are you sure I don't know her.
Jake: I'm sure. But it doesn't matter. It is not going to happen.
Vicky: Of course it will. What happened to the old "never- say-die" Jake McKinnon that I used to know and love?
Jake: He done got burnt once too many times.
Vicky: Oh, so what? You're just going to stop trying? You're just going to give up just like that? You're going to go on platonic dates with me for the rest of your life?
Jake: Who said this was platonic?
Vicky: Now, that is stupid. Come on, tell me why you have not told her how you feel.
Jake: Oh, man, she is out of my league.
Vicky: Oh, Jake. You are right. It is bad news. I have been there. Let her go.
Jake: What do you mean I'm right? What happened to "never-say- die" Jake, all this go for it kind of thing? What changed your mind?
Vicky: Well, I just think it is a losing battle to go after somebody who thinks they're above you. Jake, you have got to trust me on this one. I mean, I never fit in with the Corys. You will never fit in with this woman. Come on, look what happened with you and Marley.
Vicky: Or you and me, for instance.
Jake: You and Marley are completely different.
Vicky: I know that.
Jake: So if it doesn't work with you and it doesn't work with Marley, who is left?
Vicky: Don't ask me. Maybe somebody in between. Is this woman like that?
Sharlene: I'm starving. Is there any candy in the house?
Sharlene: You know, one of the waitresses brought in this milk chocolate. It was amazing. It was from Switzerland or someplace like that. And I could not stop eating it, you know. And that is one, you know, good thing about Christmas because you have a lot of cookies and cakes and stuff--
John: I thought that you were tired.
Sharlene: I am.
John: You have not stopped talking since we left the Pelican.
Sharlene: Oh, am I talking too much?
John: Let me ask you something.
John: Evan told me what was happening between you two.
Sharlene: Now, John-John, that kid is so sensitive right now. He is--he takes anything you say and he blows it out way--
John: No, he was very specific about this.
Sharlene: John, because he did not understand what I was trying to do.
John: What is going on?
John: Sharlene, I want you to tell me if something is happening.
Sharlene: John, nothing is happening. Nothing is going on. I--I'm a little tired, that is all. I'm not used to the late hours. And, oh, honey, I'm missing you.
John: No, no, no--one minute you're up and you're wired, and the next minute you're down.
Sharlene: John, that is crazy.
John: Look, I just want to help.
Sharlene: All right, if you want to help me, then leave me the hell alone, ok?
Donna: Hi. I thought you were going to be with Victoria tonight.
Jake: Oh, we called it an early night. Can I come in?
Donna: Yeah. Michael is gone.
Jake: I figured he might be.
Donna: Why did you come back?
Jake: I wanted to see how you were.
Donna: Because of Michael's visit?
Donna: Well, I'm fine.
Donna: I told him never to come back again. He does not want me to get the divorce.
Jake: Oh, yeah?
Donna: He does not want to get back together again either.
Jake: Well, tell me, Donna, what does Michael want?
Donna: I do not know.
Jake: What the hell is he trying to do to you?
Donna: Wants me as a backup, I do not know.
Jake: I am tired of him hurting you like this.
Donna: Just forget it. I'm trying to.
Jake: He is not going to get away with this.
Donna: Jake, he is getting away with this.
Jake: I am telling you, I am not going to let him do this to you.
Donna: I can take care of myself.
Jake: That is just it, Donna, you should not have to.
Donna: What does it matter to you?
Jake: Because I care about you. Don't you know that by now?
Sharlene: I am so sorry.
John: Are you ok?
Sharlene: Oh, John, I'm--I'm-- I'm just so tired. I'm so tired.
John: Tired? Sharlene, you are a lot more than tired. Your skin is hot.. You're just burning up. That what is--
John: Sharlene? Sharlene? Sharlene!
Josie: Would you mind watching my purse? I have to check my machine.
Matt: Yeah, sure.
Josie: I will be right back, ok?
Sam: I love you, Amanda. I will never let you go again.
