Rachel: You're the second person who's said that to me tonight.

Frankie: Well?

Trevor: Shh.

Frankie: What? What--what's--what do you see? What's Cass doing? Is he with somebody?

Trevor: Shh...I need quiet to focus my concentration.

Arianne: Someplace called Lassiter. It's in Pennsylvania--

Michael: Donna went to Lassiter alone in the middle of the night?

Arianne: She didnít go alone.

Michael: Well, who did she go with?

Arianne: Jake McKinnon.

Donna: You have to help us. You see, my daughter ran away with her son.

Dora: So, it's her kid, isnít it?

Donna: Yes, but her husband is the one that has custody, and they're getting a divorce. I mean, they're already divorced, but--Jake, please explain the situation to her.

Jake: This woman, Dora, this girl in the picture--she could be in real trouble. Her ex-husband called the cops.

Jake: We just--we want to make sure that she's not alone.

Evan: What does he have to do with this?

Dora: Well, how do I know? I mean, it's not like I changed the kid's diaper or nothing.

Michael: Well, then, maybe it's time to push him a little. You wouldnít by chance know where he is tonight, would you?

Arianne: Yes, he's on his way to Tops.

Michael: Perfect, I'm on my way.

Arianne: Michael, play this carefully.

Frankie: She has her own money.

Cecile: Well, well, well, look who we have here sneaking around in the middle of the night.

Frankie: I forgot my appointment book.

Cecile: Of course you did.

Frankie: And I came here because I need it for an appointment first thing in the morning.

Cecile: Of course you do.

Frankie: What are you doing here?

Cecile: Well, I'm not looking for my appointment book. I came downstairs to get something to eat. I didnít want to wake Cass.

Frankie: Of course you didnít.

Cecile: I mean, you know how men are--they fall right to sleep afterwards. But I wonít go into all the glorious details. Suffice it to say I am famished.

Frankie: Suffice it.

Cecile: Oh, we have to keep our voices down. Donít want to wake up Cass.

Frankie: It's not going to work, Cecile.

Cecile: What--what isnít?

Frankie: You're trying to make me crazy, and I wonít take the bait.

Cecile: Well, what are you saying? Are you saying you donít believe me? Well then, why donít you just trot right upstairs and ask him yourself, hmm? 

Jake: How come you're not eating?

Donna: I'm trying to pick off these little pieces of bologna.

Jake: Pepperoni.

Donna: Well, whatever they are, they're very high in fat. They're not good for you.

Jake: Well, possibly I should have ordered the endive salad.

Donna: Was that on the menu?

Jake: Was that on the menu? No, Donna, it wasn't on the menu.

Donna: Oh, it's cold! And it's greasy!

Jake: Well, that's the way I ordered. I said, "I'll have one large ice-cold, greasy, salty, pepperoni pizza; hold the nutrients, please." Can you toss me another piece?

Donna: No, get it yourself. I canít stand this--it stinks. I canít stand any of this!

Jake: What's the matter?

Donna: What do you think?

Jake: We've been in Lassiter 57 minutes.

Donna: What if we donít find her?

Jake: We just started looking.

Donna: Well, she could be anywhere, Jake.

Jake: Yeah, she could be anywhere--she could even be at the boarding house we just left.

Donna: What do you mean? The woman said that she wasn't there.

Jake: I know what the woman said.

Donna: You donít believe her?

Jake: So?

Donna: Well, what man could Victoria possibly be with?

Jake: Well, I can think of one.

Donna: Jake, please donít be cute with me right now.

Jake: Get your mind out of the gutter. I'm talking about Evan.

Donna: Evan? No!

Donna: Because Evan works for Rachel Cory. He would be committing professional suicide if he helped Victoria.

Jake: I--you know what? I have always got the feeling that Evan operates on some master plan anyway.

Donna: What--what master plan?

Jake: I haven't figured that out yet. You want another piece of pizza?

Donna: Well, I'm going to starve to death if I donít eat something here.

Jake: I'm getting used to it, I think.

Donna: It wouldnít be so horrible if it didnít have these little salami things on it. What are these green things?

Jake: The green things are peppers--nice, healthy peppers. The black things are olives, the other stuff is cheese.

Donna: Well, the next time, let's just order one with olives and maybe some fresh mushrooms, although they probably donít have fresh mushrooms in Lassiter. I canít believe I'm talking about this.

Jake: About what?

Donna: My daughter and her son are out there missing, and I'm sitting here talking about pizza toppings.

Jake: Donna, we have to eat, ok?

Donna: We have to find her.

Jake: We will.

Donna: This is all my fault, you know.

Jake: How do you figure that?

Donna: Because when I found out that you might be Stevenís father, I told Victoria to lie to everybody, and if I hadn't done that, maybe things would have worked out.

Jake: And if you hadn't given birth to her, she wouldnít be around and that would have solved everybody's problem, wouldnít it?

Donna: What's that supposed to mean?

Jake: Donna, you canít blame yourself for how other people handle their lives.

Donna: Jake, I'm her mother!

Jake: That doesn't mean you have to make everything right for her. There was a lot of players in this hot little drama. There was me, there was Jamie, Vicky, Rachel--I mean, everybody got a little crazy.

Donna: But we're all adults, Jake. We should have known better.

Jake: That's easy to say now, Donna.

Donna: I just think it's sad that Steven is the one that has to suffer the consequences.

[Toy squeaking]

Vicky: You called Amanda again, didnít you?

Evan: Yes, I did.

Vicky: And this time she begged you to tell her where we were, right?

Evan: But I didnít.

Vicky: But you didnít--why not?

Evan: 'Cause I just--

Vicky: Because you thought you could convince us to go back to Bay City, and then they would throw a parade for you, right? It would be a national holiday--Evan Bates' birthday--yay! No school!

Evan: Maybe I'm just trying to be a friend.

Vicky: Maybe I donít buy that.

Evan: Why not?

Vicky: Because every time you have a little argument, you go walking out that door, call Amanda, come back in--and I think it's because he knows that it drives her crazy that we're here together, right? So he sticks around so she can be jealous.

Evan: Look, Vicky, she's been great through this whole thing.

Vicky: Oh, yeah, I'll bet she has. Whoops, whoops!

Evan: She's really trying to understand.

Vicky: Well, she better quit trying, because she canít understand what I've done.

Evan: Now, donít be so sure of yourself.

Vicky: What has she ever given up? What has she ever had to sacrifice, huh?

Evan: That's very unfair. You donít know her that well--

Vicky: Oh, and you do? You think she would give up her family for you? You think she would give up anything for you?

Evan: Why donít we drop the subject of Amanda--?

Vicky: She wonít understand, Evan--none of them will.

Evan: Well, maybe it's time you understand a few things.

Vicky: Not another lecture, please--

Evan: No, this isnít a lecture--it's just fact.

Vicky: Oh.

Evan: Now, if you're gonna pull this off--

Vicky: Uh-huh.

Evan: You're gonna have to be somebody else.

Vicky: Yep, we already figured that out.

Evan: I'm not talking about right now--I'm not talking about tomorrow--I'm not talking about for a few weeks or a few months. I'm talking the rest of your life.

Vicky: You've said all that already.

Evan: Jamieís gonna have detectives on you 24 hours a day, 7 days a weeks--

Vicky: Shut up, Evan, just shut--

Evan: No bank accounts, no charge cards, no nothing. You touch one cent of Vicky Frame's money, they're gonna trace you.

Vicky: You know what? No matter how many times you say that to me, it doesn't scare me.

Evan: I'm not trying to scare you--I'm just trying to reason with you. Now, say you want to start your life all over again and get married. You canít do that without a birth certificate.

Vicky: I donít want to get married again.

Evan: No, and I suppose you never want to talk to your family again either, do you? You want to spend the rest of your life alone, on the run with Steven. Just you and Steven.

Vicky: I'm going to bed.

Evan: Yeah, but I guess if anybody can handle it, you can, 'cause you're such a tough cookie.

Vicky: Yeah, you're damn right I am.

Evan: What about Steven? Does he have a choice in this? Is that the kind of life you want for him?

Vicky: Good night, Evan.

Evan: Have sweet dreams, Vicky.

Cecile: I donít want to fight with you, Frankie.

Frankie: You're right, you donít.

Cecile: You see, it's just that Cass and I go way back.

Frankie: I've heard how way back you go, Cecile.

Cecile: Oh, come on, it was so obvious from the first moment I arrived here that Cass was still attracted to me.

Frankie: The only thing that's been obvious around here is you. You've been hanging all over him.

Cecile: Well, think about this: Why did he want me to stay here? I mean, why didnít he put me up in a hotel?

Frankie: Why should I think about that?

Cecile: Well, then, maybe you want to think about this. Why did he not go to Sharleneís wedding with you if he wanted to be with you so badly?

Frankie: Are you sure you donít want to fight, Cecile?

Cecile: I just donít want to see you hurt, Frankie.

Frankie: I'm a third-degree black belt, you know.

Cecile: That's not what I meant.

Frankie: All right, all right, all right. I'm not here for my appointment book, ok?

Cecile: Well, of course you're--

Frankie: Would you cut it with the "of courses"? I am here because I wanted to tell Cass that I want nothing further to do with him.

Cecile: Oh, really? Well, he's right upstairs.

Frankie: I think I'll save it for another day, thank you.

Cass: I thought I heard voices. Who was here?

Cecile: Oh, nobody. It was a wrong address.

[Chuckles] Ooh.

[Telephone rings]

Michael: Michael Hudson.

Lucas: Lucas here. We didnít finish our discussion.

Michael: Oh, yeah.

Lucas: I'll be in touch.

Donna: Gonna be able to sleep with all that food on your stomach?

Jake: Oh, yeah, I hate going to bed on an empty stomach. I fill my stomach up, I'm out like a light.

Donna: Well, I always eat lightly in the evening, because it's supposed to be better for you.

Jake: Well, that does it for me.

Donna: Only 7 slices?

Jake: Gotta save room for dessert.

Donna: Of course, silly me.

Jake: Yeah, I saw a candy machine right out in front of that little office.

Donna: Mmm, candy--what an appetite.

Jake: Mm-hmm.

Donna: Has it always been so big?

Jake: What?

Donna: Your appetite.

Jake: Yeah, even as a kid it was big.

Donna: Well, guess we'd better get some sleep.

Jake: Yeah, we got a lot of work to do tomorrow.

Donna: Yeah, where's your room?

Jake: Across the hall.

Donna: Right across?

Jake: Two doors that way, I think. It's, uh... it's room 111. You, uh, call me if you need anything, all right?

Donna: Right, thanks.

Jake: You know, Donna, we're gonna find Steven and Vicky. Trust me.

Donna: I do. Strange, isnít it?

Jake: Good night.

Donna: Good night.

Donna: Good night.

Vicky: Oh, my baby boy's awake. Oh, come here. Do you want to play? Do you know something? I'm doing this for you. You know that? Everything I do is for you, little guy. I love you.

Felicia: Who's there?

Mitch: It's me. I canít believe you're still here.

Felicia: Why, is it that late?

Mitch: Come to bed?

Felicia: I just want to get down a few of these ideas, ok?

Mitch: What is this?

Felicia: It's my new novel. It's been driving me crazy, and I think I finally have an end to it.

Mitch: You want to bring this downstairs and work on it?

Felicia: No, I'll be down in a few minutes. Let me just get this down before I lose it, ok?

Mitch: Ok, I'll wait for you.

Felicia: You donít have to.

Mitch: That's all right, I donít want to leave you up here. I'll be out on the balcony.

Rachel: I tried so hard not to depend on you.

Mitch: I want you to.

Rachel: It's just that, when anything happens-- I get lonely or if I need help, you seem to be the person I turn to.
