Iris: Unfortunately, only one of these lovely women can adorn the premier issue of "Sophisticate." And I realize that the waiting is absolutely excruciating, so without any further ado, I would like to announce the winner of the fresh faces campaign. The face that will grace the cover of "Sophisticate" belongs to... here we go. Ms. Josephine Watts.

Matt: All right.

Jamie: Yes, of course. Listen, you will call me the minute you hear anything, wonít you? Thank you very much. I really appreciate all your help.

Amanda: Anything?

Jamie: That was the officer assigned to the case.

Sam: Do they have anything?

Jamie: They've checked every car rental place in the area.

Amanda: Maybe she used another name.

Jamie: I gave them a picture of her and nobody remembers seeing her.

Sam: Well, her car's still at her house, right?

Jamie: Yeah.

Amanda: So what'd the policeman think?

Jamie: That maybe she took a cab to the airport.

Amanda: Look, it doesn't matter; they're going to find her. You're going to get your son back.

Jamie: I thought I might have him back by now, Amanda.

Amanda: Jamie--

Jamie: But what if you are right? What if she has left the country? What if I never see my son again?

Vicky: Why did you insist on driving us, Evan?

Evan: Because you are a terrible driver--in good weather let alone in the middle of this blizzard. Besides, I donít want you and Steven out on the road alone.

Vicky: Thank you, thanks.

Evan: And I know you're not going to change your mind.

Vicky: No, I wonít. Come here, sweetie. Thank you.

Evan: Donít thank me, ok?

[Police sirens]

Vicky: Oh, my God.

Evan: I think it's the police.

Vicky: Evan, what are we going to do?

Evan: Stay right here.

Vicky: What are we going to do, Evan?

Evan: Stay right here.

Iris: I am so very proud of you.

Josie: I canít even believe this is happening.

Lucas: Well, you believe it. We are so happy for you, too. You deserve it.

Josie: I haven't even been able to talk to Matthew yet.

Lucas: There's plenty of time for that.

Noelle: I think the whole thing was fixed from the start, donít you?

Olivia: Pardon me?

Gretchen: Noelle's right; they used us.

Olivia: How do you mean?

Gretchen: Those two knew all along they were going to choose your sister for the cover. This contest was hype for the magazine. We were just set dressing.

Olivia: Oh, I donít know about that.

Noelle: Oh, come on.

Jake: Hey, you ok?

Olivia: Peachy.

Jake: Word on the street was that the vote was very close.

Olivia: I bet.

Jake: As a matter of fact, I would not be surprised if Lucas and Iris put you on the second cover. I know they like you a lot.

Olivia: That's not quite the same.

Jake: Olivia, any cover would be great exposure. This magazine is going to be hot.

Olivia: Jake, I'm not in the mood for a pep talk.

Jake: Honey, this isnít the end of the world. You were a finalist; you did good.

Olivia: What is that great old saying--"almost only counts in horseshoes"? Excuse me.

Josie: Olivia. Olivia, wait.

Olivia: Wonít father be pleased?

Josie: I hope you are not too disappointed.

Olivia: Oh, no, I am thrilled. See? This is my thrilled face.

Josie: I would like you to be happy for me.

Olivia: I would be a lot happier if I didnít think this whole thing was a setup.

Josie: What?

Olivia: I donít know how you did it, but Lucas has been grooming you from the start. You won because he wants to be your Pygmalion.

Josie: Puh--what?

Olivia: Never mind. Oh, donít frown, dear, you'll spoil your image.

Lucas: Folks, here we go; we'll do the photographs over here. Come on. Photographers, let's get some pictures, please. Right here. Right here. Thank you. Right here.

Donna: Excuse me, excuse me. Excuse me, please. Just let me get by. Excuse me.

Iris: Donna.

Donna: Yes, what is it, Iris?

Iris: I have already had some complaints about the facilities here from the photographers.

Donna: What complaints?

Iris: Well, for starters, insufficient lighting. And then I need an extra space because of publicity shots.

Donna: Iris, we have it all under control; it's set up in the back there.

Iris: Well, I hope you remembered the props that I requested. I really want to make sure that they're in place.

Donna: Props?

Iris: Yes, props. That is part of your job, isnít it?

Donna: You want me to do props?

Jake: Excuse me one second. Look at me, count to 10, and ask Dougie to help you set up.

Donna: I'm going to do away with her. I swear I'm going to do away with her.

Jake: Donna, murdering our first client is bad for PR. I am telling you, count to 10, do what she asks.

Donna: ...6, 7, 8, 9, 10

Jake: Good.

Donna: Your wish is our command.

Iris: Good.

Donna: Michael, I'm busy. I'm busy. What do you want?

Michael: Please.

Donna: What do you want?

Michael: I just came to tell you that I have my people looking for Victoria and I wanted to know if you had heard anything from her at all.

Donna: Donít you think I would have called you if I had?

Michael: I donít know, Donna.

Donna: Michael, you might have walked out on this family, but I havenít.

Vicky: What did they say? What did they say?

Evan: They said that route 6, the bridge, it's iced over, so the road is closed because of the storm. So what we've got to do, we've go to go all the way to route 30 to get to the toll road.

Vicky: All right; that is ok. Are you still willing to go along with me?

Evan: Yes. I told you I do not want you alone tonight.

Vicky: I appreciate it, Evan.

Evan: And I'm gonna to show you that this harebrained idea of yours has "fiasco" written all over it.

Vicky: All right, I have made up by mind. If you donít like it, you drop me off at the next--

Evan: No, you think about this for a minute. Now, you know in the long run that this is not going to work. You know that as well as I do.

Vicky: It's going to work.

Evan: It's just a stunt, Vicky.

Vicky: It is the only choice I have, Evan. I canít sit around and wait for permission from Jamie to see my son anymore. I canít think from week to week what is happening to my son. I canít think who's holding him. I canít think who's--

Evan: Well, you'll never hold your son again if Jamie finds you.

Vicky: He wonít find me!

Evan: You canít say that! Now, what if he does? Have you thought about what that means? Now, what we have to do is we have to turn around and go right back there and straighten out this whole mess. Because if we donít, you are going to lose Steven for good. Vicky, listen to me. You are going to lose that baby.

Amanda: I donít know why we are all pretending to be so shocked by this.

Sam: Amanda--

Amanda: It's just like Vicky. She will do anything to get what she wants.

Jamie: Amanda, this is not helping. Thank you.

Amanda: Sorry. I guess I'm just upset.

Sam: We are all upset, but at least we know Steven is ok.

Jamie: Do we really know that, Sam?

Sam: Vicky is with him. Vicky has always taken care of him before.

Jamie: Look at this night. Where the hell could she be?

Amanda: She couldn't have left the country.

Jamie: How do you know that, Amanda?

Amanda: She doesn't have a passport for Steven.

Jamie: Not that I know of, no.

Amanda: I bet Bridget helped her.

Jamie: Bridget wouldnít do that.

Amanda: How can you be so sure?

Jamie: Well, we'll know soon enough, Amanda, because she's on her way over here right now.

Sam: Wait a minute.

Jamie: What?

Sam: There's a way she could have gotten a car that we didnít think about. She could have borrowed one.

Jamie: I already thought about that, Sam. Where would she get one? Her family wouldnít give her one, and she doesn't have any friends to borrow a car--

Sam: I donít know about that. She's spending a lot of time with Evan lately.

Amanda: That is ridiculous.

Sam: It's possible, isnít it?

Amanda: Evan wouldnít do this.

Jamie: I should have called him a long time ago.

Amanda: He's not home--he's not there.

Jamie: What?

Amanda: I called him at the office before. The answering service answered and said that he had taken a short vacation.

Jamie: Answering service?

Amanda: Mm-hmm.

[Doorbell rings]

Jamie: Wait, he takes a vacation without telling you and Mom?

Amanda: He's needed time off.

Jamie: Amanda, was this an unplanned vacation?

Amanda: Yes, I think so.

Jamie: Well, what do you think about that, Sam?

Sam: I wouldnít put it past him.

Amanda: Evan would not do this.

Bridget: Excuse me. Hilda told me I should come--

Jamie: Bridget, thank you very much for coming over here. Have you heard from Vicky?

Bridget: No.

Amanda: Are you sure?

Bridget: Of course I am sure. Jamie, I am so worried about Victoria and the baby. I mean, the roads out there, they're just impassible.

Jamie: Bridget, did she say anything, anything at all to give you an idea that she might be planning something like this?

Bridget: No!

Jamie: Well, how did act? How did she seem the last time you saw her?

Bridget: Well, she was very nervous and high-strung, but she is always like that.

Jamie: Did she call anyone? Did she make any plans? Bridget, what is it?

Bridget: Well, she did have some plans. I mean, she wanted me to go over and spend Thanksgiving with my friend Mabel, but you know I never do that. I always fix--

Jamie: Bridget, did she call anybody? Who was she planning to see?

Bridget: Evan Bates.

Jamie: You were right.

Sam: I know.

Jamie: Evan Bates did this. He helped her take my son, didnít he, Bridget?

Bridget: I did not say that.

Jamie: You didnít have to say that.

Bridget: Well, of course she saw him, but that doesn't mean--

Amanda: This is crazy.

Jamie: It makes pretty good sense to me, Amanda. Bates takes an unplanned vacation and Vicky steals my son!

Bridget: You have to understand what she was going through.

Jamie: Why? Why do I have to understand something?

Bridget: Jamie, you were the one that broke her heart. You took her son--

Jamie: Bridget, I understand that you love her.

Bridget: Donít you have any compassion for her at all?

Jamie: Compassion?! How can I have compassion for her?!

Bridget: Well, she thought she was ready to have this marriage come to an end. Yes, she did. But I saw her--I saw her face when she was reading through those divorce papers--

Jamie: Bridget, there is no excuse for what she has just done.

Bridget: And then you--you promised that she could have Steven for half a day on Thanksgiving.

Sam: You did that?

Bridget: Yes.

Jamie: I explained all that to her, Bridget.

Bridget: Yes, you did. Yes, you did. Yes, you told her that she could be with him, and she was holding on to that. And then what you did--you took him away. You just took him away!

Jamie: Bridget, this was my mother's very first holiday since Mac died. Do you understand that? I didnít want her to be alone. I wanted her to have her entire family around her, and I didnít want her to have to deal with the scene that Vicky would make when she brought Steven back--if she brought him back.

Bridget: But you didnít even give her the least bit of warning.

Amanda: Warnings? She had plenty of warning. She knew Thanksgiving was his day--

Sam: Bridget, we understand, all right? We all know that Vicky must have felt very lonely.

Amanda: Sam!

Sam: Think about it. Jamie, you call all the shots--who Steven sees and when.

Jamie: Well, apparently not enough, Sam.

Sam: She's his mother.

Jamie: Oh, no kidding.

Amanda: Are you saying that she has a right to walk in here and take this baby?

Sam: No! I'm saying that we should all calm down and think about what Vicky must have felt.

Bridget: I want you to understand something. I wish none of this had happened. I know Victoria did the wrong thing, but you should all take comfort in one thing: She will not let anything happen to that baby. She is the mother. She wonít let anything happen to him.

Jamie: Bridget, do you have any idea where she may have taken my son?

Bridget: No, I donít.

Sam: Were a lot of clothes missing?

Bridget: No. Victoria has done a lot of terrible things in her life, but in time, she always sees the wrong of it.

Amanda: Time? How much time?

Bridget: I promise you; she will be back.

Jamie: I hope you're right, Bridget.

Bridget: I've got to go. The roads are impossible out there.

Jamie: Bridget... listen...do me a favor, will you? Promise to call me if you hear anything at all.

Bridget: Yes, I will. But tell me something, Jamie, will you do the same for me?

Jamie: Of course I will do the same for you.

Bridget: Thank you. Goodnight.

Sam: That pretty much clinches it, doesn't it?

Amanda: What?

Sam: What Bridget said. Vicky did this because she had your pal Evan Bates to help her.

Michael: Donna.

Donna: What are you still doing here, Michael?

Michael: Wait a minute. Look, I'm just worried about Victoria. I thought you might be, too, and might need my support.

Donna: Quite frankly, I find that surprising in light of your decision to leave me.

Michael: I still care about you.

Donna: Well, donít. You've left me, Michael. Please, leave me alone. What do you want, Iris?

Matt: Mr. Hudson.

Michael: Hi, Matt. You--oh--must be very proud of Josie?

Matt: I am. I have been trying to call home to tell everyone, but the line's been busy--

Michael: Then you haven't heard, huh?

Matt: Heard what?

Michael: About Steven?

Matt: Steven? Why, what's wrong?

Michael: It seems that Vicky has taken Steven.

Matt: Taken him? Taken him where?

Michael: I donít know. I'm trying to locate them.

Matt: Excuse me, I have to talk to them.

Donna: Everything is taken care of, Iris; the set is all done.

Iris: That's fine. Donna, I just want to tell you how truly sorry I am.

Donna: Apology accepted. Excuse me.

Iris: No, I meant about Michael.

Donna: Iris, donít gloat; it's very tiresome.

Iris: I wasn't gloating. I just thought it was terrible the way it happened, you know, in front of everybody at John and Sharleneís wedding reception, that's all.

Donna: You must have loved that part.

Iris: No, I didnít. Remember, I know what you are going through. I just donít understand it, that's all.

Donna: What's to understand? It is over.

Iris: Well, as a matter of fact, it was hard for me to accept at first, but I did believe Michael when he told me how very much he loved you.

Donna: Feelings change.

Iris: But it's not like him, is it?

Donna: Iris, I really donít want to talk about this here--

[Phone rings] Do you mind?

Iris: Of course.

Donna: Excuse me.

[Phone rings] Hello?

Arianne: May I please speak to Michael Hudson?

Donna: You have a phone call. It's your girlfriend.

Sam: Olivia.

Olivia: I hope you donít mind; I didnít have anywhere else to go.

Sam: That's ok, just tell somebody the next time you come.

Olivia: I lost.

Sam: You lost?

Olivia: The contest.

Sam: I'm sorry. Are you ok?

Olivia: Yeah, I'm fine.

Sam: You donít look fine.

Olivia: Guess who did win?

Sam: Josie.

Olivia: Of course.

Sam: You knew there was that chance.

Olivia: Sam, if you could have seen how inexperienced she was at the interview session, and how awkward she is in front of the camera. I donít understand why this happened.

Sam: I can.

Olivia: Thanks a lot.

Sam: Now listen--hey. That's why she won.

Olivia: Why?

Sam: Iris and Lucas were looking for someone who was more natural.

Olivia: I blew her away in the personality segment. My test shots were better; I know they were.

Sam: I know, but listen. They can make Josie into whatever they want. You--you already look like you should be on the cover of a magazine.

Olivia: Do you really think so?

Sam: Look, I donít know why you're wasting your time modeling anyway.

Olivia: What do you mean?

Sam: You are a dancer. Dancers should dance.

Olivia: I've heard that somewhere before.

Sam: I'm sorry. Seeing the way you danced today, that was...

Olivia: Donít stop now.

Sam: You're very good, Olivia.

Olivia: Thank you. Really?

Sam: Come on. Besides, I donít want you to get rich and famous too soon.

Olivia: Why not?

Sam: Because I'd lose my best portrait model.

Olivia: Your only portrait model.

Sam: Yeah, since Amanda.

Olivia: Anyway, I just wanted to win the contest for the publicity. I thought it might get me an audition with a major company.

Sam: You donít need that kind of help.

Olivia: I donít?

Sam: No. Just dance the way you danced today.

Olivia: Can I ask you a question?

Sam: Sure.

Olivia: Would you have picked me?

Sam: In a New York minute.

Olivia: Thanks. That means a lot to me.

Vicky: It sort of fits, you know?

Evan: What does?

Vicky: Driving to Lassiter on a miserable cold night.

Evan: Why is that?

Vicky: Because Lassiter is always cold and miserable.

Evan: Sounds great.

Vicky: There is one positive aspect.

Evan: What's that?

Vicky: I'll be invisible... to everyone but Steven. Even you wonít be able to find me, Evan.

Evan: Never underestimate me, Vicky.

Vicky: No, I'm not. I'm just saying that wherever we are we will be fine, as long as we're together.

Evan: So what are you going to do about money?

Vicky: I can get into my account; I just have to be quiet about it.

Evan: Oh, yeah. Quiet enough so the FBI doesn't find out.

Vicky: The what?

Evan: I'm sure Jamie has pulled in all the proper authorities. They will be monitoring your account like a bunch of hawks.

Vicky: I'll get a job.

Evan: Oh, yeah? What are you going to do?

Vicky: I donít--I donít know. I'll see.

Evan: Ok. Well, then where are you going to stay?

Vicky: Can we wait till we get there, please?

Evan: Vicky, for some reason I do not picture you as the boarding-house type.

Vicky: I used to be. That's why you donít know me, Evan. You donít know what I was. It is ironic, actually.

Evan: What is?

Vicky: Going home. I call that place my home, and I said I would never go back there. I guess sometimes you just have to accept what things are, that you are the way you are.

Evan: So what do you think about Steven growing up in Lassiter?

Vicky: He'll know I love him.

Evan: Yeah? What are you going to tell him when he asks about his family? It wonít be long, you know?

Vicky: I'll make him understand.

Evan: Yeah, well, he's got grandparents. He's got two great-grandmothers. Are you going to tell him about them? I remember once you told me how much you hated that you didnít know you had a family or where you came from. Now, are you going to put your son through that same pain? Vicky, I just know your parents are worried. They're just worried sick about you right now. If I were you, I would get on that phone and I would give them a call and just let them know that you are ok. The phone's in here.

Michael: It was my wife who answered the phone, Arianne.

Arianne: Lucas is there, right?

Michael: Yes, I've been keeping an eye on him all night.

Arianne: The raid went off without a hitch.

Michael: Except Lucas wasn't there.

Arianne: Exactly.

Michael: He made himself very conspicuous. He's been keeping himself on camera all night long.

Arianne: Someone must have tipped him off. He was supposed to be there to watch over the operation personally.

Michael: Well, Lucas is about to slip up.

Arianne: Michael, what are you going to do?

Michael: Look, I want this settled now.

Arianne: Michael, we canít rush.

Michael: Well, I'm making my move tonight.

Donna: He has the nerve to take a call from his whore in front of me.

Jake: What's he doing here?

Donna: He says he wants to talk to me.

Jake: Well, did you talk?

Donna: I canít. If he's going to get out of my life, I wish he would just get out.

Jake: You want me to get rid of him?

Donna: No, I will do it.

[Sighs] I canít take much more of this. First he says he canít live with me, and then he says he cares about me, and then he's flaunting his affair in front of me.

Jake: Hey, it gets easier, Donna.

Donna: Has it for you?

Jake: Yes.

Donna: I'm just afraid how I'm supposed to stop loving him, and that scares me to death.

Matt: Jamie, I just heard about Steven.

Jamie: Hi, Matt. I canít talk right now, I'm sorry. That wasn't Vicky by any chance, was it, Michael?

Michael: No, it wasnít. Why, have you heard from her?

Jamie: No, I tracked you down here to let you know that I've called the police.

Michael: What? Jamie, why couldn't you have waited till tomorrow?

Jamie: She kidnapped my son.

Michael: I know, but if I've got my own people looking for him.

Jamie: She took him out of his bedroom and ran away with him.

Michael: Jamie, look, I know you're worried, but you could have waited.

Jamie: I'm more that just worried.

Michael: She'll bring him back.

Jamie: Well, I haven't got time to wait and see, Michael. I just want you to know that you'll be hearing from the police. And if Vicky contacts you, I expect you to let us know.

[Phone rings]

Michael: Hello?

Vicky: I'm looking for Michael Hudson.

Michael: Victoria?

Vicky: Hi. Your office said I could find you there.

Michael: It's really good to hear your voice.

Vicky: Yours, too.

Michael: Honey, listen to me. I want you to tell me exactly where you are.

Vicky: I canít do that.

Michael: Honey, do you have Steven?

Vicky: Yes.

Michael: Look, I know how upset you must be, but please, you know how wrong this is.

Vicky: Dad, I canít talk about it. I just wanted you to know that Steven is ok and I'm ok.

Michael: Victoria--

Vicky: I will try to call you again.

Michael: Wait--when are you coming home?

Vicky: I'm not.

Michael: Victoria--

Vicky: Dad, I need you to tell Mom for me, ok? 'Cause she has to understand, and you are the only one who can make her do it.

Michael: Please, honey, wait. Just listen to me for a second.

Vicky: I love you both so much.

Michael: Then let us help you.

Vicky: It's too late.

Michael: No, no, no. We can fix this.

Vicky: I need to be with my son, and this is the only way I can do it.

Michael: Honey, please, donít do this.

Vicky: I love you, Daddy.

Michael: I love you, too.

Jamie: Police are investigating right now.

Matt: I'm sure Steven is fine.

Jamie: He'd better be fine.

Matt: There's nothing you can do except wait it out right now.

Josie: I have been trying to get to you all night.

Matt: Hey.

Josie: Hi.

Matt: Congratulations. Jamie, would you like to meet the fresh faces girl?

Josie: Pleased to meet ya.

Jamie: Congratulations, Josie.

Josie: Thank you.

Matt: Listen, if there's anything I can do you let me know, ok?

Jamie: I just want him back.

Josie: What happened?

Matt: Vicky took Steven tonight.

Josie: What?

Matt: Yeah, we donít know where she's gone.

Josie: Oh, my God.

Matt: Jamie is a mess.

Josie: I canít believe Vicky would did something like this.

Matt: I donít know. Maybe my family didnít give her any choice. Listen, I donít want you thinking about it. Tonight is your night.

Josie: I'm in shock.

Matt: I'm not. I knew it would happen.

Josie: Hey, Matthew, if you want to go be with your family, I understand.

Matt: No, no, no. Actually, I think it would be better if I stayed away for a while. Jamie knows how I feel about what he has been doing, and we might get in a fight or something.

Josie: Do you want to get out of here?

Matt: You can go?

Josie: Lucas said I could leave.

Matt: Let's go out and celebrate.

Josie: No, no. I want to go home and celebrate alone.

Matt: I want to be alone with you tonight.

Josie: Well, my mom and John just happen to be on their honeymoon.

Matt: Nobody is home at the house?

Josie: What do you say?

Matt: Excuse me.

Michael: Donna...

Donna: Yes, I know, I know. Your friend needs you.

Michael: Please, donít. I just heard from Victoria.

Donna: Where is she?

Michael: I donít know, but she seems to be ok. She has the baby and she says she's not coming home.

Donna: Oh, God. Oh, God.

Michael: Look, donít worry, all right? I will find her.

Donna: How?

Michael: Just leave it to me, all right? We will get our daughter back.

Donna: We?

Michael: Yes.

Donna: We? We canít do this together, Michael.

Michael: Donna, please.

Donna: I will find Victoria by myself.

Michael: Wait a minute, this is not about what has happened between you and me.

Donna: Yes, it has to do with everything that's happened between you and me. You walked out on us, Michael, and we are going to go on without you because that's the way you want it. I will take care of my family alone.

Olivia: You've been such a good friend to me.

Sam: Come on, it's not hard, Olivia. I like you.

Olivia: You're the only person that I can talk to about this stuff.

Sam: Well, what about Matt?

Olivia: Well, Matthew is too close to Josie...

Sam: Ah.

Olivia: But he tries.

Sam: Well, it must have been hard losing to Josie.

Olivia: The thing is, my father acted like she was the prize he had been looking for his entire life and I was just the one he got stuck withó

Sam: [Clears throat] you know he doesn't feel that way. Besides that fact, Josie didnít have anything to do with any of this.

Olivia: I was pretty nasty to her after the announcement.

Sam: Well, you can make nice to her tomorrow.

Olivia: Do I have to?

Sam: Yes, you do, Olivia. Ok?

Olivia: I'll try.

Sam: Good.

Olivia: I'm so happy that I found you here tonight, Sam. I did not want to go home and talk to Aunt Liz.

Sam: I thought Liz was at the press conference?

Olivia: No, she said she'd be too nervous. But I was supposed to call the moment I won. Guess she's figured it out by now.

Sam: Well, I'm glad you're here tonight, too. Hi.

Amanda: Hi, Olivia.

Olivia: Hi.

Amanda: I didnít expect to see you here... again.

Olivia: Well, I--I better get home.

Sam: Olivia?

Olivia: What?

Sam: It's going to be ok.

Olivia: Thank you.

Sam: Yeah.

Amanda: You know, every time I see that girl, she's in here with you.

Sam: She lost the fresh faces contest, and she needed a shoulder to cry on.

Amanda: So she picked yours?

Sam: We are friends, Amanda.

Amanda: Sam, I need you.

Sam: For what?

Amanda: What is that supposed to mean?

Sam: You know Evan ran off with Vicky, but you're so busy defending his honor you jump down my throat every time I say something.

Amanda: Evan did not go away with Vicky.

Sam: How do you know that?

Amanda: Because he wouldnít--

Sam: He wouldnít what? Do that to you?

Amanda: I didnít come here for this. If you see Jamie, tell him that I went to the office.

Sam: Oh, so you're going to work now?

Amanda: I am going to see if I can find any itinerary that Evan may have left behind. If I can reach him, he may know where Vicky is.

Sam: Well, while you're there, why donít you get his license number, just in case he doesn't have an itinerary.

Amanda: Evan didnít do anything.

Evan: There it is.

Vicky: 15 miles to Lassiter.

Evan: I canít believe we're almost there.

Vicky: I canít believe I'm going back.

Evan: Getting second thoughts, Vicky?

Vicky: No. Better take these things off.

Evan: Oh, now I've seen everything.

Vicky: You canít wear jewels in Lassiter; you'll only last 10 minutes.

Evan: Sounds more inviting by the minute.

Vicky: Here, let me take your watch off.

Evan: Why?

Vicky: Because it's bad enough we are arriving in a stupid sports car. We are trying to be inconspicuous. Give me your watch. Here.

Evan: Boy, that's a cheery area.

Vicky: Yeah, if you like steel mining.

Evan: All right, now once we get to town, where are we going to go?

Vicky: We'll find a rooming house.

Evan: What about if we canít get a room? The baby canít sleep in the car. You've been sniffling for the last hour and a half.

Vicky: It's an allergic reaction.

Evan: To what?

Vicky: Lassiter.

Evan: [Laughs]

Vicky: Believe me, we will get a room. This is not the hot vacation spot, trust me.

Evan: Vicky--

Vicky: Take another left.

Evan: Are you ok?

Vicky: No... but I will be. I have to be for my baby.

Josie: Mm--I'll go back on my diet tomorrow. Tonight I could eat all night long.

Matt: You look like you are enjoying it.

Josie: Mm!

Matt: Finish chewing.

Josie: Why?

Matt: I want to tell you something.

Josie: Canít you tell me while I'm eating?

Matt: Well, it's not very romantic while you have your mouth full.

Josie: Well, why didnít you say so?

Matt: Wash it down.

Josie: There, all done.

Matt: I just want to say I love you.

Josie: I am so happy.

Matt: Well, this might make you a little happier.

Josie: Matthew, what--

Matt: Let's see what I have here. Oop--what is that?

Josie: [Indistinct] Matt: It goes around here...

Josie: It's beautiful.

Matt: This is because you were so beautiful... tonight.

Josie: What if I didnít win?

Matt: It wouldnít have made a bit of difference.

Josie: I am so lucky. I have you, and Mom and John are happy... and now this.

Matt: You deserve it all.

Josie: So much is going to change, but they will be good changes.

Matt: I hope so.

Josie: Matthew, nothing in the world can make me change the way I feel about you.

Matt: I need you.

Josie: I need you. I promise you Matt, I will always love you... always.

Donna: Jake.

Jake: I'm sorry to come by so late.

Donna: No, it's ok. Actually, I'm glad to see you. Come in.

Jake: I just saw you rush out of the loft and I wanted to make sure you were ok.

Donna: Thank you. That was very sweet. Come in.

Jake: Donna?

Donna: Yeah.

Jake: Do you think maybe you can turn on a light? I think I'm going to trip over a coffee table or something.

Donna: You donít want to see me in the light. Come over here and sit down.

[Sighs] Actually, I do this a lot. I find it very peaceful.

Jake: I guess.

Donna: Can I get you anything?

Jake: No, I'm fine. Why donít you... why donít you tell me about Vicky?

Donna: Michael talked to her.

Jake: Where is she?

Donna: We donít know; she didnít say. But she did say she's not coming back.

Jake: And she's got Steven with her? Oh, Vicky.

Donna: He wants me to help him find her.

Jake: Do you want to?

Donna: I canít have anything to do with him; it hurts too much.

Jake: What are you going to do?

Donna: I'm going to find her myself, if I can.

Jake: I'll help you, Donna. I'll help you find Vicky.

Hank: Huh!

Vicky: Oh, God.

Nora: Get out of here, Hank. I told you to keep out! Now, come on!

Hank: Oh, Nora, it's snowing.

Nora: Well, then just stay down in the lobby, but donít let no one see you. Uh...look, I gotta have some money up front.

Evan: All right, I'll take care of it.

Nora: I should hope so.

Evan: Is that enough?

Nora: Well, yeah, for now. What's the matter?

Evan: Nothing. It's just been a really long trip.

Nora: So, how long you folks planning on staying?

Vicky: A while.

Evan: We're not sure.

Nora: The bathroom is down the hall, and these walls are real thin so if you could just keep the baby quiet.

Evan: Well, this is your life, Vicky Frame. What do you think about it so far?

Vicky: It's small but it's clean.

Evan: And it's rundown.

Vicky: Evan, just let me get Steven ready, ok? His schedule is all fouled up.

Evan: Do you need me to help you with something?

Vicky: No, we're fine. Thank you.

Evan: I guess I should be going.

Vicky: I guess.

Evan: If I were you, I would lock this door.

Vicky: I will.

Evan: It's getting late.

Vicky: I know.

Evan: I think it would be stupid of me to drive back tonight.

Vicky: You must be tired.

Evan: Yeah, so tired I canít stand up. I can drive back in the morning, if... that's ok with you.

Lucas: Totally busted? Oh, that's great. That's just great! Any ties to us? It was the club, wasn't it? Well, I donít think they're going to be too pleased. Do you, Sanders? You just lay low. I'll get back to you. Michael--thought you'd left.

Michael: Obviously.

Lucas: Anything I can do for you?

Michael: I'm on to you, Lucas.

Lucas: You're on to me?

Michael: Let's put it this way--I know what you're up to... and I want in.

Evanís voice: Dear Amanda, it's Thanksgiving Day and I'm sitting at my desk pretending I have work to do. I thought it would help to be someplace quiet, but all I can hear is your voice and your laugh. You're probably sitting down to dinner with your family right now, surrounded by people who love you... except for one. I know how hard it is for you to hear me say this, but I do love you. I wish I didnít--God knows we would all be a lot happier--but I donít know how to stop it or make it go away. If anything, it just gets stronger. And that's why I've made a decision...

Vicky: He's not sleeping.

Evan: Well, he wonít be the only one with insomnia tonight.

Vicky: Evan, we will be fine.

Evan: Well, maybe when you wake up in the morning and get a good look at this place, you will change your mind.

Vicky: I donít think so.

Evan: Hey, you know, I'm great with kids.

Vicky: Since when?

Evan: I donít know. Let me give him a shot.

Vicky: Wanna go to your Uncle Evan?

Evan: Come on, big guy, there we go. Up, up, and away. Yes. There you go.

Vicky: He likes lullabies.

Evan: Good. Listen, if your mom asks if I sang to you, tell her yes, would you? I donít want to put you through that; you've got enough to deal with. Your mom, she's a pretty weird lady, but you probably already noticed that, huh? In fact, I think she may be certifiable. But you know what else? Hmm? She loves you. You can always count on that. Donít ever, ever forget that. I wish my mom loved me the way that she loves you. Oh, here we go. There you go.
