Sharlene: Josie, where's the fire?

Josie: I just saw Matt turn up the drive!

Sharlene: Oh, that explains it.

Josie: How do I look?

Sharlene: Sweetheart, you look beautiful, but that's a given.

Josie: No, no, really. This -- this is really important.

Sharlene: Josie, where are the two of you going?

Josie: Matthew is taking me to my first photo session with Lucas.

Sharlene: That's today?

Josie: Yes, and my stomach is turning in somersaults.

Matt: Ok, where is she? Where's Christie?

Josie: Oh -- a thing of the past. I'm here.

Matt: Hello, Ms. Watts.

Sharlene: Hi, Matt.

Matt: Let's see -- ahem. You'll pass.

Josie: Oh, well, gee, thanks. Ugh! I guess I'd better get going, because I donít think it would be very good if I kept him waiting, you know?

Sharlene: Jos --

Josie: Mama, wish me luck. This could be the beginning of everything.

Sharlene: I -- Josie, I know that. You know, that's why I'd like to come along.

Felicia: Are you going out?

Mitch: Yeah, I've got to go by "Brava" and then I'm going to stop by and see Matthew.

Felicia: I was hoping you could spend a little time with me. You know, just the two of us.

Mitch: Well, I do need to do some work. It's been a few weeks since I've seen my son. You understand, donít you?

Felicia: Oh, of course. Of course I do. I was just hoping we'd spend the day together, that's all.

Mitch: Maybe later?

Felicia: Definitely later. Ok?

Mitch: Ok.

Mitch: I've got it.

Derek: Mitch.

Mitch: Come on in, Derek.

Felicia: Derek. Hi, honey. What a nice surprise.

Derek: Hi, Fanny.

Felicia: Listen, are you all right? You know, I've been talking to Cass every day about getting those ridiculous charges dropped.

Derek: Yeah.

Mitch: Yeah, is there anything that we can do?

Derek: Actually, there is.

Felicia: Name it.

Derek: I need to rob you.

Cass: Didnít our mother ever tell you that it's not polite to stare?

Stacey: I'll stop staring when you start talking.

Cass: Donít you have work to do, Stacey?

Stacey: I want answers, Cass.

Cass: And I want coffee.

Stacey: I want to know what's going on between you and Frankie.

Cass: Less than nothing, I can assure you.

Stacey: Didnít you tell me that she threw a $10 glass of champagne in your face at Carolineís party?

Cass: Yeah, but she didnít pay for it. Come on, Stace, she's a wing nut. We all have known that.

Stacey: Well, it's obvious to me.

Cass: What is?

Stacey: The only people that throw drinks in other people's faces are lovers.

Cass: You are so far off base that it's not even comical.

Stacey: Oh, am I? Hmm.

Cass: Yes, you are. Look, Frankie means nothing to me, and I certainly mean nothing to her.

Stacey: Uh-huh. Hmm.

Frankie: Pardon us for a moment, Stace.

Stacey: Oh. I knew it.

Frankie: I want to know what you think you're doing to me.

Josie: You want to go to my photo session with me?

Sharlene: Josie, I wouldnít be in the way. I really wouldnít.

Josie: Well, look, if you're worried, I mean, we're going to be at Mrs. Wheelerís.

Sharlene: Josie, no, I'm not worried. I'm just curious and I'm proud, and I'd like to watch.

Josie: Well, it's -- it's not glamorous at all, trust me.

Matt: No, no, no, it isnít. I've been on a few of these with my father up in New York, and they're not glamorous, they're boring, you know.

Josie: Yeah, so believe me, you donít want to be there. Uh, my purse. I've got to get my purse. I'll be right back.

Matt: Listen, I'm supposed to meet my father after I drop Josie off. If it'll make you feel better, I'll stay with her.

Sharlene: No, Matt. No, it's ok, really. Thanks anyway.

Matt: You know, you donít have to worry. She knows what she's doing. This is on the up-and-up. I checked.

Sharlene: Matt, I'm not worried, I told you.

Matt: Ok. Just thought a mom was supposed to worry.

Sharlene: So, you think this could be a good move for Josie?

Matt: It could be a great opportunity, yes. Lucas obviously has great taste. Of course, I'm biased, so --

Sharlene: Uh-huh. Lucas is a very interesting man.

Matt: Yeah, my mom thinks so.

Sharlene: Your mother?

Matt: Yeah, she's been out with him a couple times. Lunch, dinner. Well, he knew Mac.

Sharlene: Did he?

Matt: Yeah.

Sharlene: Lucas is backing Iris. I'm surprised your mother would have anything to do with him.

Matt: Well, Amanda is ready to scream.

Sharlene: What do you mean?

Matt: She doesn't trust Lucas at all. My mom is more open-minded.

Sharlene: Well, I wouldnít be surprised if Amanda changes her mind. Lucas is a very persuasive man.

Josie: How do you know that?

Sharlene: I met him -- at Michael and Donnaís at the engagement party.

Josie: Oh, yeah, that's right.

Sharlene: He's a very, very charming man.

Josie: And brilliant and creative. And he wants to help me.

Sharlene: That's what he said.

Josie: Yeah. Well --

Matt: Yeah. Ahem.

Josie: I donít want to keep him waiting, ok? So wish me luck.

Sharlene: I wish you luck. Have a -- have a wonderful time.

Josie: Ok.

Sharlene: Really.

Josie: Ok.

Sharlene: You look beautiful.

Josie: Thank you.

Matt: Goodbye, Ms. Watts.

Sharlene: Bye, Matt.

Josie: Oh!

Matt: Ooh -- that's all right, donít trip.

Josie: Come on, let's go.

Vivien: Hi, Mr. Lucas.

Lucas: Hi, Vivien.

Vivien: Got a message for you. It's from Frankie Frame. I donít like her very much.

Iris: Neither do I.

Lucas: Hello, Iris.

Vivien: She hasn't got all of her marbles in one area, you know what I mean?

Lucas: Not really, no.

Vivien: Well, she's got these beady little eyes, and she got all that jewelry, and that's a sure sign.

Lucas: Of what?

Vivien: Nutritional deficiency and character flaw.

Iris: Uh, Vivien, is the coffee ready?

Vivien: Yeah.

Iris: Well, perhaps we could have some?

Vivien: Oh, yeah.

Iris: You know, Lucas, you should listen to Vivien. She's a great judge of character.

Lucas: So am I. And Frankie is invaluable to me right now.

Iris: You know, it's imperative that only the both of us know about the possibility of there being a new will hidden in the red swan.

Lucas: No one knows that for sure.

Iris: No, they donít, but we do know that that maid at the harbor inn signed something as a witness, and that something was what Daddy put inside the red swan.

Lucas: Iris, if there is a new will in the red swan, we will find it. No one knows.

Iris: Lucas, I canít tell you who to hire.

Lucas: That's right, you canít.

Iris: But I can tell you that I do not want Frankie to have anything to do with the search for the red swan.

Lucas: Why are you so upset about Frankie?

Iris: Because she worked for Cass Winthrop, and Cass Winthrop is Rachelís attorney. And it's all just too cozy for my liking.

Lucas: I know what I'm doing.

Iris: I thought you said not to trust anyone.

Lucas: I know everything there is to know about Frankie Frame. We have no secrets. Except, of course, the ones I'm keeping from her.

Cass: I'm not doing anything to you.

Frankie: I hate men like you.

Cass: Yeah, and I'm not crazy about women like you, let me tell you.

Frankie: You think that you can just walk all over us, have your way.

Cass: Excuse me -- have my way? You've been reading too many of Feliciaís novels.

Frankie: Well?

Cass: You shouldnít be here. You want to blow your cover?

Frankie: Answer me, Cass.

Cass: I'm at a loss, Frankie.

Frankie: Fine. You want me to spell it out for you? I'll spell it out for you. You asked me out on a date.

Cass: Yeah, well, if I had known you'd consider that my declaration of undying love for you, I would have rented a movie and ordered a pizza.

Frankie: And then you stand me up for tall, blond, and bubble-headed.

Cass: I didnít stand you up, I was delayed.

Frankie: Oh, "delayed" my foot. Then you chase me out of the gallery.

Cass: I'm supposed to stand there and let you douse me with a glass of champagne?

Frankie: And have the bald-faced audacity to grab me and kiss me!

Cass: I never grab! I hold tightly, firmly. Take your shirt off.

Frankie: Grab me and kiss me and -- take off my what?

Cass: I have a new bug I want to try out on you. So pull your shirt up and let's give it a test run. Anyway, you didnít seem to mind very much. Come on.

Frankie: Didnít seem to mind what? Get your hands off me! I will not play Jane to your Tarzan.

Cass: Oh, no problem there. You donít have the upper body strength. Come on, let's try this thing out. And donít get any ideas, ok?

Frankie: Well, I donít think this is funny, Cass.

Cass: I donít either.

Frankie: What is going on?

Cass: You are impossible!

Frankie: Me?

Cass: Yes, you! First you accuse me of standing you up, and then you act like a big baby when I try to give you my explanation.

Frankie: Explanation? Ha!

Cass: Yeah, and as far as kissing you is concerned, what else could I do?

Frankie: What?

Cass: You were being totally unreasonable, Frankie. I couldn't get a word in edgewise. It was the one way I knew I could get your attention.

Frankie: Oh, you really are a caveman, do you know that?

Cass: Oh, get off it, Frankie. I may have kissed you first, but you kissed me back, remember? And it was just fine.

Frankie: Just fine? You may operate in a world of mixed signals, Cass, but I like to surround myself with honest people who donít play games.

Cass: What exactly is it that you do, then?

Frankie: I donít play with your head.

Cass: I must have been crazy.

Frankie: Oh, yes, you were.

Cass: No, I mean asking you out in the first place.

Frankie: Well, thanks a lot, boss!

Cass: I mean, it Frankie. I must look for women who are trouble. Every time I get involved, I get hurt.

Frankie: Oh, hurt? You, hurt? You've been known to cause a little bit of pain yourself, pal.

Cass: See? You're giving me a headache right now.

Frankie: Well, you're lucky I donít give you a black eye!

Cass: Oh, real charming, Frankie. I suppose all your old boyfriends had battle scars, huh?

Frankie: I'm getting the hell out of here.

Cass: Good!

Frankie: Fine!

Cass: Where are you going?

Frankie: Where I belong.

Cass: Where is that, with the marines?

Frankie: I'm going back to Lucas. I may not know what he is, but at least he treats me with respect, which is more than I ever got from you.

Cass: Oh, well, you better watch your step, young lady.

Frankie: Oh, who the hell do you think you are? My father?

Cass: Maybe you need one.

Frankie: And donít think that I would ever consider ever going out with you ever again, ok?

Cass: Donít flatter yourself.

Frankie: Hey, isnít it about time you got back on the phone to Caroline? Because after all, she is the only woman in town who would give you the time of day. Bye, Stace.

[Door slams]

Stacey: Did you have a nice talk?

Stacey: Are you ok?

Cass: I donít want to talk about it! I certainly donít want to explain!

Stacey: No, it's all right. You donít have to. I get the picture. But I would like to give you a little bit of advice.

Cass: No.

Stacey: You know what I think, Cass? As your -- I'll tell you later.

Courtney: Hi, stranger.

Stacey: Oh, hi, Courtney.

Courtney: Haven't seen much of you lately.

Stacey: No, I've been real busy.

Courtney: Have we been in the apartment at the same time once in the last two weeks?

Stacey: I've been working late.

Courtney: Derek's case?

Stacey: Yep.

Courtney: How's it going?

Stacey: A lot of dead ends. Not much else.

Courtney: I still donít know if I trust that guy.

Stacey: Courtney, I donít want to talk about it right now.

Courtney: Stacey, wait a minute. I want you to know that I'm pretty confident that Derek did not steal that red swan, whether I trust him or not.

Stacey: Is that why you had him arrested?

Courtney: I'm sorry about what happened to him in custody. Tempers run high in prison, especially in the summer.

Stacey: Courtney, he was hurt badly, and he shouldnít have been in there in the first place.

Courtney: Stacey, I donít want to fight. I want to help. Do you know who this is?

Stacey: No.

Courtney: His name is Cal, and he is bad news.

Stacey: So?

Courtney: Derek has been seen with him.

Stacey: What are you going to do, arrest him for that, too?

Courtney: Stacey, when Cal was seen with Derek, they saw you, too.

Stacey: So what are you getting at?

Courtney: Donít lie to me, Stacey.

Stacey: You're having Derek followed.

Courtney: Donít cross the line, Stacey, not for some guy.

Stacey: He's not some guy, Courtney. He means a lot to me. And I'm not going to watch him fall through the cracks of the system or be somebody else's scapegoat.

Courtney: I want to help you clear him.

Stacey: How? All you ever do is end up getting him in deeper. And he never did anything to begin with.

Courtney: Look, the word at the D.A.'s office is they're hot to pin this thing on Derek. Now, if you get involved in anything illegal during this investigation, Stacey, you're going to get burned.

Stacey: I'll take my chances.

Courtney: Even if it means ruining Derek's in the process?

Derek: So I got to show Cal that I'm playing in his league.

Felicia: I donít know. I think this sounds awfully risky.

Derek: If he can lead me to the red swan, then I donít really have a choice. But that's where you two guys come in.

Felicia: So in other words, if you steal from us, this Cal person will think you're a real criminal?

Derek: That's it.

Felicia: I think we should do it. Right, Mitch?

Mitch: I donít know. How do you know that this guy even has the swan?

Derek: This guy knows every hot property in the state. And if he doesn't have it, I'm betting that he knows who does.

Mitch: Yeah, but you're talking about art theft. I mean, it doesn't even sound like this is the kind of thing this guy deals in.

Felicia: How do you know that?

Mitch: Well, I donít know that. Listen, I've got to go. After seeing Matthew, I want to stop by and see Iris, so I'll try not to be too late.

Felicia: All right. I'll be right back.

Mitch: Be careful, Derek.

Felicia: Mitch? Maybe we could have dinner later, all right? Just the two of us?

Mitch: Sure.

Felicia: All right.

Mitch: I'll try not to be too long.

Felicia: Ok. I'll wait for you.

Mitch: Ok.

Derek: Fanny, if Mitch doesn't want to get involved in this --

Felicia: No, no, he's fine, really.

Derek: Is there something going on between you two?

Felicia: We're married. Married people argue. I'll make it up to him tonight. Ok, now, let's see. You want to steal something. What do you think I should give you?

Derek: Well, it should be pretty valuable.

Felicia: Yeah, I think you're right. Um -- oh, wait a minute. I have the perfect thing. I'll be right back.

Derek: Ok.

Felicia: Stay right here.

Derek: What is that?

Felicia: Now, believe it or not, this is worth a fortune. It's pretty ugly, though, isnít it?

Derek: I'm not sure what it is.

Felicia: Yeah, I'm not sure either. But it's perfect because it's engraved, so this Cal person will know that you stole it from me.

Derek: That is perfect.

Felicia: Oh, wait a minute. I will only give you this on one condition.

Derek: Just name it.

Felicia: I donít want it back, ever.

Derek: Ok.

Felicia: Ok.

Derek: Thanks, Fanny. I knew I could count on you. Bye.

Felicia: Derek, be very careful, honey, will you? Donít get in over your head.

Derek: Bye.

Lucas: Ah, right on time. Hi, Matt.

Matt: Hi. I'm just dropping Josie off.

Lucas: Oh, great. Iris, can I see you a second?

Iris: Oh, sure.

Matt: Ow.

Josie: Oh, I wish you could stay.

Matt: Listen, I'd just be in the way.

Josie: But I'm a wreck.

Matt: I know. You're digging your fingernails into my arm.

Josie: Oh, I'm sorry. Matthew, I canít believe this is happening.

Matt: Yeah. Listen, just donít let them change you too much, ok?

Josie: Change me?

Matt: Yes. Because I think you're perfect just the way you are.

Josie: Aw.

Matt: I'll see you a little later?

Josie: Ok.

Matt: All right. Bye-bye.

Josie: Bye.

Iris: Josie, I have got a rack full of outfits for you to try on upstairs.

Lucas: Yes, and we're going to try all of them on you. We want to see what your look will be.

Iris: Yeah, come on, darling, I'll show you what we've got. You know, I'm going to call you Josephine from now on.

Lucas: Iris --

Iris: Yeah?

Lucas: Let Josie go alone.

Iris: But I want to help her choose.

Lucas: I want her to pick. I want to see what your sense of style is, Josie.

Iris: Ok, I wonít say a word, I promise. I'll just, you know, help her with her zippers and all that sort of thing.

Josie: Ok.

Lucas: Fine.

[Intercom buzzes]

Vivien: I got it! This place is like OíHare airport. Speak. Oh, wait a minute, Mr. Clarence. It's that Frankie Frame.

Lucas: Send her up.

Vivien: Ok, Mr. Clarence, you can let the lowlife in. I'm sorry.

Lucas: You're entitled to your opinion, Vivien.

Vivien: My stories are on. May I be excused?

Lucas: You go right ahead. I'll let that Frame woman in.

Vivien: Thanks, buck.

Lucas: Yeah.

Frankie: Hiya, boss.

Lucas: What's wrong?

Frankie: Nothing.

Lucas: You look terrible.

Frankie: Well, thank you. I'll go put on some makeup or something.

Lucas: Did something happen?

Frankie: No, really.

Lucas: Remember the little talk we had?

Frankie: Who, us?

Lucas: Yes, us. What is the phrase? "Complete and total honesty." Does that ring a bell?

Frankie: Lucas, it's personal.

Lucas: Your personal business is my business as long as you're working with me.

Frankie: I had a fight with a guy, ok?

Lucas: Anybody I know?

Frankie: No.

Lucas: Good. Is it over?

Frankie: Yeah, like the second world war.

Lucas: Good. You know, he doesn't know what he's got in you, boy, he's -- you donít need this guy.

Frankie: Thank you, Lucas. That's very sweet.

Lucas: You deserve somebody very special.

Cass: I'm sorry. What a nice surprise.

Felicia: Stacey said you'd be a bear.

Cass: Yeah, well, she's overreacting.

Felicia: Uh-huh.

Cass: It's this stupid machine, you know? I think Zack must have rigged it. It's on permanent tilt or something. I never win anymore.

Felicia: Aw. Is that it?

Cass: Yeah.

Felicia: Is it?

Cass: That how I sound? Really? I'll have to work on that. So enough about me. How was your wildly romantic weekend with Mitch?

Felicia: Wildly romantic.

Cass: Gee, Felicia, donít be so effusive.

Felicia: No, really, it was -- it was wonderful.

Cass: Yeah?

Felicia: Yeah.

Cass: And?

Felicia: And Mitch came home from the shoot, and we spent the rest of the night arguing.

Cass: About what?

Felicia: It's too complicated. Forget it.

Cass: No, no. Come on, talk to me.

Felicia: All right. When he was away, he did some digging on his own to try and find my daughter.

Cass: Any luck?

Felicia: No, nothing. So now he's totally convinced that Lucas made the whole thing up.

Cass: Is he serious?

Felicia: Mitch is always serious.

Cass: This is true.

Felicia: He thinks the baby never lived, Cass.

Cass: Oh, honey.

Felicia: And he's adamant about it.

Cass: Would Lucas be that cruel?

Felicia: No, of course he wouldnít. I mean, what possible reason would he have for lying like that?

Cass: I donít know.

Felicia: Well, he wouldnít. And I'm furious with Mitch. I -- I'm furious that he would even suggest such a stupid thing as that.

Cass: Could it be that he's feeling a little insecure?

Felicia: Oh, honey, come on, that's no excuse and you know it.

Cass: It's the most popular excuse in the world for irrational behavior.

Felicia: I thought, you know, he would get over this phobia when he went away, but I really believe it's getting worse.

Cass: He's protective, honey. He loves you.

Felicia: Are you involved?

Cass: Huh?

Felicia: Did Mitch come to you again about following Lucas?

Cass: Oh, no.

Felicia: I want you to tell me the truth, Cass.

Cass: I am.

Felicia: I'm not kidding.

Cass: No, I am.

Felicia: Are you following Lucas? Are you?

Stacey: Derek? Derek? "Cal 1:30." Oh.

Cal: Hey, Derek?

Singer: On a star to follow where you are I'm wishing on a dream to follow what it means I'm wishing on a star to follow where you are

Matt: You've never looked more beautiful, Josephine.

Singer: I'm wishing on a dream to follow what it means

Singers: And I wish on all the rainbows that I see I wish on all the people who really dream and I'm wishing on tomorrow praying it'll come and I'm wishing on all the lovin' we've ever done

Singer: I never thought I'd see a time when you would be so far away from home

Iris: Well, I donít think Vivienís going to be much help to us this afternoon. She sits so close to that television, I think she's going to lose her sight. Hello, Frankie.

Frankie: Mrs. Wheeler.

Lucas: How's Josie?

Iris: Well, she's as nervous as a cat, but I think she's going to be just fine.

Lucas: Good.

Iris: In fact, I think she could do with a second opinion. Why donít you run up and tell her how wonderful she looks? That's if it's ok with you, Frankie.

Frankie: Go ahead, boss. Tell my cousin how beautiful she is.

Lucas: Excuse me.

Iris: What do you think you're doing?

Frankie: I have to make a few phone calls for Lucas, if that's ok with you.

Iris: No, it is not ok with me. That's my desk.

Frankie: Sorry, but this is the phone.

Iris: Well, why donít you take the cordless telephone that's over there out on the terrace, hmm? Outside.

Frankie: Outside.

Iris: Yes.

Frankie: Donít you think it's a little bit nippy out there today, Mrs. Wheeler?

Iris: I think the fresh air will do you good. You look very pale.

Frankie: Do I?

Iris: Mm-hmm.

Frankie: Oh, well, I must have missed my tanning salon appointment.

Iris: Well, that is a pity, but why donít you just make all your calls outside?

[Intercom buzzes]

Vivien: I'll get that! Yo?

Iris: Who is it, Vivien?

Vivien: Sharlene Watts Frame soon-to-be Hudson.

Iris: Is she on her way up?

Vivien: It's ok. Can I go?

Iris: Yeah, you can go, but donít run. Well, hello, Sharlene.

Sharlene: Hello. I'm sorry to interrupt.

Iris: You're not interrupting anything. Josieís upstairs trying on clothes.

Sharlene: Well, she left her makeup kit, and I thought she might need it.

Iris: Oh, how sweet. Actually, I have a makeup artist and a hairdresser with her now. Of course, Lucas is supervising everything.

Sharlene: Oh, Lucas is with her now?

Iris: Mm-hmm. He has a very fine eye.

Sharlene: I'm sure he does.

Iris: Oh, oh --

Josie: Mother, what a surprise. Well, what do you think?

Lucas: Well, Sharlene? What do you think of your little girl? Do you like what I'm doing with her?

Cass: You knew that Mitch hired us to follow Lucas?

Felicia: Right. And you both promised me you'd stop.

Cass: And we did.

Felicia: Uh-huh.

Cass: Mitch is not paying us to have Lucas followed anymore.

Felicia: Why is Frankie working for Lucas, then?

Cass: Where did that come from?

Felicia: Well, I just think it's sort of a funny coincidence, donít you? First she's working for you as a P.I., and then suddenly she's working for Lucas?

Cass: Hey, she quit me. Good riddance.

Felicia: Oh, my.

Cass: "Oh, my," what?

Felicia: Well, I think that's just a little bit harsh, donít you?

Cass: Look, we didnít see eye to eye. She's out of here. She's gone.

Felicia: I see.

Cass: You see nothing, Felicia. Turn off your antennae.

Felicia: I just think it's -- it's kind of interesting.

Cass: Oh, you do, huh? Well, it's not interesting, let me tell you. It's very common, very boring.

Felicia: Common, yes.

Cass: What are you getting at?

Felicia: Well, the two of you, you know --

Cass: What?

Felicia: Together -- you have this thing.

Cass: What kind of thing?

Felicia: A thing. You know, a thing.

Cass: No, no things here, not in this lifetime, no, no.

Felicia: Why are you lying to me? Do you forget who you're talking to?

Cass: How could I forget that? Hey, I heard from Nicole.

Felicia: Did you? How did she sound?

Cass: She wrote me a letter. It was actually quite wonderful.

Felicia: What did she say?

Cass: Well, she said that she's doing much better and that she's more at peace with herself, and she wants me to get on with my life.

Felicia: That's good advice. I hope you take her up on it.

Cass: Oh, I am. I've thrown myself willy-nilly into the wacky, wild, wonderful world of women.

Felicia: Caroline, right?

Cass: Among others, yeah.

Felicia: Oh. Well, Caroline is provocative, I guess.

Cass: Isnít she, though?

Felicia: Mm-hmm. But I donít know, I think maybe you need someone who's -- well, who's more challenging, you know?

Cass: You do? Yeah?

Felicia: Yeah, maybe abrasive might be nice.

Cass: Mm-hmm? Yeah?

Felicia: Somebody who wouldnít let you get away with a blessed thing.

Cass: Mm-hmm, maybe with red hair, sort of?

Felicia: Maybe.

Cass: Forget about it! She works for Lucas now. She's out of my life, ok?

Josie: I'm glad you stopped by, mother.

Sharlene: Well, I brought you your makeup kit, but I see you donít need it.

Lucas: What do you think?

Sharlene: Oh, honey, I think you just look very sophisticated.

Josie: I do, donít I?

Iris: I think you look perfect, Josie, absolutely perfect. Oh, but not -- well, hang on. What about -- do you think angel should pull her hair down there?

Lucas: No, her hair is magnificent. Look at that.

Frankie: Sharlene! Go back! Go back!

Iris: You're still here?

Frankie: Yes. I heard all of the commotion, and I wanted to see what was going on. Hey, Jos! Sharlene! Hi!

Sharlene: Hi. I didnít know you'd be here for the photo shoot.

Frankie: Well, I'm not. Lucas, those banking matters we discussed?

Lucas: Yes?

Frankie: Would you mind if I went now?

Lucas: Go right ahead.

Frankie: The banks are only open another hour. Josie, you look incredible.

Josie: Thanks, Frankie.

Frankie: Sharlene, I'll see you later, ok?

Sharlene: Ok.

Frankie: Bye-bye.

Lucas: Bye-bye.

Josie: Bye.

Sharlene: Bye. She's right.

Iris: Absolutely.

Josie: I love this dress.

Iris: It's wonderful. It's --

Frankie: "Robert Faxon, Camden, Maine." Why didnít you want me to see this, Iris?

Derek: Hey, Cal. What are you doing?

Cal: Donít look at me like I'm robbing the place. You're late.

Derek: I had something I had to get.

Cal: I think we got company.

Derek: No, nobody's here, man. A friend of mine left that here yesterday.

Cal: A friend?

Derek: Yeah. Look, what do you think?

Cal: What is that?

Derek: I donít know what it is. It's 10 pounds of sterling silver out of Felicia Gallant's apartment, that's what it is.

Cal: Yeah?

Derek: Yeah, it was easy.

Cal: Good job, man.

Derek: So -- look, I proved myself to the great Cal. Now it's your turn.

Cal: Huh?

Derek: Tell me where the red swan is, huh? Hey, man, come --

Stacey: [Southern accent] Derek, baby. Where you been, huh? Time is money.

Stacey: [Southern accent] You didnít tell me you were bringing a friend.

Derek: You're early.

Stacey: Am I?

Cal: Who is this?

Stacey: Hmm. Who are you?

Derek: Shut up. I've got work to do.

Stacey: I got work to do, too.

Cal: Let her stay.

Stacey: Yeah.

Derek: Look, Cal, I'll give you this when you show me the red swan.

Cal: From what I hear, the bird statue is worth a lot more than that piece of scrap metal.

Derek: That's fine. There's a lot more where this came from. Right now I got plans -- alone.

Stacey: Alone?

Derek: So why donít you come back when you got what I want, and then we'll talk?

Cal: Couldn't we work out a deal?

Derek: Just get out of here.

Stacey: So, baby --

Derek: Donít come back so early next time.

Stacey: I wonít.

[Normal voice] Is he gone?

Derek: Yeah. God. You have really gone off the deep end, haven't you?

Stacey: What are you talking about? I just saved your tail!

Derek: Saved my -- no, you didnít save my tail. You damn near ruined everything!

Matt: Hey, Dad.

Mitch: Hi, son. It's good to see you.

Matt: Yeah. Sorry I'm late. How you been?

Mitch: I'm doing good. I can see I donít even have to ask you the same question.

Matt: Well, what, it shows?

Mitch: Yes, it does.

Matt: Well, Josieís great, I'm great. Life is pretty great.

Mitch: Well, I'm glad to hear that. Seems like you did the right thing.

Matt: What do you mean?

Mitch: Well, going after her, not giving up. You should be proud.

Matt: Yeah, well, there were a few times I was ready to come home, believe you me.

Mitch: But you didnít, and see how things turned out?

Matt: Yeah, we had a happy ending.

Mitch: Well, you're a lucky couple. Seems like you want to be with her, and that seems like the thing to do, so stay with her.

Matt: I should, yeah. Well, you know, we're being honest with each other, and she tells me what she's thinking, I tell her what I'm thinking, and it's working out.

Mitch: I can see.

Matt: So, how's Felicia?

Mitch: She's doing good. And your mom?

Matt: Um, out of town on business.

Mitch: Have you spoken with her?

Matt: Yeah, once.

Mitch: How is she?

Matt: I donít know. She's -- she's kind of hard to read lately.

Mitch: When's she coming home?

Matt: Today at 3:00, actually. We were kind of worried about her before she left. She's been kind of on the edge about work and, you know, about the red swan being stolen, and -- I donít know. Every time I look at her, I think she's in pain. I think -- well, I think that she's having a tough time being alone.

Mitch: Well, I wish I would have been here. I wish there was something I could do.

Matt: Well, I donít think there's anything anyone can do. I -- well, I wish they'd find the red swan.

Mitch: But they haven't?

Matt: No, and I was hoping they would by the time she got home, but the police donít seem to be getting any closer.

Josie: Hi.

Sharlene: Well, hi. Where's the entourage?

Josie: Oh, Lucas and Iris are yelling at each other about my hair.

Sharlene: Oh, they sure are particular about it all, aren't they?

Josie: Yeah. Mama?

Sharlene: Yeah?

Josie: Are you sure you didnít just stop by here because you were checking up on me?

Sharlene: Josie, I found your makeup kit in the bathroom, and -- and -- I was curious, yes. But I was not checking up on you.

Josie: I hope you know how important this is to me.

Sharlene: I do.

Josie: And I want you to be happy for me.

Sharlene: Sweetheart, if you are safe and well, I'm happy. Ok?

Josie: Ok.

Lucas: Josie?

Josie: Oh, yes, Lucas?

Lucas: Could you please go see Iris? Angel wants to do something with your hair, and Steven has to fix your makeup.

Josie: Of course.

Lucas: Ok. Well, I'm surprised to see you here.

Sharlene: Why do you say that?

Lucas: I thought you wanted to have nothing to do with me.

Sharlene: Nothing in the world is more important to me than my daughter, Lucas.

Lucas: Nothing? Not even your fiancť?

Sharlene: I'll do anything I have to to make sure her life is better than mine ever was.

Lucas: I know how you feel. She's a beautiful girl. You should be very proud.

Sharlene: I am.

Lucas: I want to make her a star. I want to do everything I can for her.

Sharlene: Well, if -- if that's Josie wants and she can handle it, fine.

Lucas: There's nothing more precious than a child.

Sharlene: Absolutely.

Lucas: She's lucky to have you. You've come a long way.

Sharlene: Yes, I have. I hope you have, too.

Frankie: Oh, come on, answer. Answer --

Cass: What do you think you're doing here?

Frankie: Shh! Hello? Is Mr. Robert Faxon in, please?

Cass: I asked you a question.

Frankie: Me? I'm Freda Freeman.

Cass: "Freda Freeman"?

Frankie: I'm Iris Wheeler's personal secretary.

Cass: What?

Frankie: You see, I must admit, I'm terribly embarrassed. Mrs. Wheeler asked me to call Mr. Faxon with a message, and -- well, she is a very busy woman, as I'm sure you can understand --

Cass: What's going on here?

Frankie: And she gives me lots of little notes with things to do on them every day, and -- what is my point?

Cass: Yeah, what is your point?

Frankie: I canít remember if Mr. Faxon is the writer working on the rich-and-famous article for her new magazine, or if he's the owner of the Jamaican vacation property that she's interested in purchasing. Oh, well -- well, thank you. That would be wonderful. She's putting him on now.

Cass: "Him" who?

Frankie: Robert Faxon! Haven't you been paying attention? I have to do everything around here. Hello? Mr. Faxon?

Robert: What can I help you with, Ms. Freeman?

Frankie: Oh, well, thank you so much for speaking with me. I was explaining my embarrassment to your secretary --

Robert: That was my wife.

Frankie: Oh, sorry. Well, you see, I've written my notes rather badly, and -- and --

Robert: My wife told me your dilemma.

Frankie: Well, would you mind telling me which one you are?

Robert: Neither.

Frankie: Neither?

Robert: Yeah, I'm an attorney.

Frankie: A lawyer. I should have known.

Robert: I spoke with Mrs. Wheeler about the matter of the Cory will.

Frankie: The Cory will? I remember now. Mrs. Wheeler wanted to know -- she wanted to know --

Cass: Are there any new developments --

Frankie: Are there any new developments?

Robert: I'm afraid not. I checked with several lawyers in the area, and none of them know Mr. Cory personally.

Frankie: I see.

Robert: And none of them know anything about this red swan. I wish I could be more help.

Frankie: Oh, you have been a tremendous help, Mr. Faxon. Thank you so very much. Yes! Ooh! Ooh, you are going to eat every bad word you ever said about me, Winthrop.

Stacey: Come on, Derek, lighten up.

Derek: You're playing a very dangerous game, Stacey. Cal is big trouble.

Stacey: It was nothing.

Derek: Where'd you get this outfit?

Stacey: I had -- I had this on underneath my clothes, and I just hiked up my skirt and --

Derek: And that lipstick?

Stacey: The lipstick was in my purse.

Derek: And where'd you learn how to walk like that?

Stacey: You mean like this?

Derek: Yeah, like that.

Stacey: Night court.

Derek: Yeah, I should've known. Wow, you -- you look --

Stacey: Donít say anything. I'll be embarrassed.

Derek: Well, what should I do?

Stacey: Kiss me?

[Phone rings]

Stacey: Ahem.

Derek: Hello? Yeah. Oh, no, well, the sooner, the better, right? No, donít worry, I'll be there.

Stacey: Who was that?

Derek: It was your roommate. They just moved my court date up two weeks.

Stacey: They canít do that!

Derek: Well, they just did it, Stacey!

Stacey: I meant to tell you -- I talked to Courtney earlier, and the police are having you tailed.

Derek: Yeah, I know. So is Cal.

Stacey: What are you going to do?

Derek: There's only one thing I can do. Find the red swan.

Cass: Where'd you get this phone number?

Frankie: Oh, I pinched it from Iris' desk. I was practically right under her nose.

Cass: Frankie, you took an awfully big risk.

Frankie: Aw, gee. He cares.

Cass: So Iris thinks that her father rewrote the will while he was in Maine?

Frankie: Mm-hmm, cutting her out.

Cass: Yeah.

Frankie: And she asked this guy to find out if he knew anybody who knew anything about the red swan. So if he's looking for it, she must be looking for it --

Cass: Wait, slow down. I'm -- my head is spinning.

Frankie: So she thinks that while her father was in Maine, he called a lawyer --

Cass: I wonder if Lucas is involved in this, too.

Frankie: Ok. That's it.

Cass: What? What?

Frankie: I'm going under.

Cass: Under where?

Frankie: Under under. I have to get closer to Lucas. And I canít do that unless I break off all contact with you.

Cass: I knew there was a good side to this.

Frankie: Yeah, well, it's a good thing I'm still mad as hell at you.

Cass: Yeah, yeah, it is a good thing.

Frankie: Mm-hmm.

Cass: But what if you need help?

Frankie: I'll get by.

Cass: You'll get by? Frankie --

Frankie: What?

Cass: How far are you willing to go?

Frankie: As far as I have to.

Iris: You're right. I'll admit defeat.

Lucas: Really?

Iris: Well, Lucas, they saw it your way. I think that Josie is just going to look perfect with her hair for that cover shot. So donít gloat about it, ok? Canít believe they're still working on her, though. You know what I think? I think I might go and phone up that lawyer in Maine and see if he's been able to track anyone down who was working with Daddy.

[Phone rings]

Iris: I'll get it, Vivien! Donít move! I wouldnít dream of disturbing her. Hello?

Felicia: Iris, it's Felicia.

Iris: Oh, hello, Felicia. Are you looking for Lucas?

Felicia: No, actually, I'm looking for Mitch.

Iris: Mitch? Your husband?

Felicia: Yes, Iris, my husband. May I speak to him, please?

Iris: Well, I'm afraid he's not here.

Felicia: He must be running late, then.

Iris: No, I'm not expecting him.

Felicia: He said he was having a meeting with you this afternoon.

Iris: Well, that's tomorrow.

P.A. announcer: Trans am flight number 208 from New York's Kennedy airport is now arriving at gate number six.

Mitch: Rachel!
