Evan: Yeah, my secretary says you needed to see me.

Amanda: Yes, I do.

Evan: What is up?

Amanda: My father used to always do the letters to the editor.

Amanda: Well, this time they're going to be about him. I was hoping that you could help me.

Evan: Amanda, we don't go to press until next week. I don't--do you have to do all this today?

Amanda: I would appreciate your help, Evan. I do value your opinion.

Evan: Ok.

Amanda: I think narrowing them down is going to be the hardest part.

[Phone rings]

Evan: It's all right, stay there. I will get it. Yes, hello. Yes, sure, I will handle it. Just put it through. Uh-huh. Could you read that one more time? Thank you very much.

Amanda: What was that?

Evan: A telegram. It is good news.

Amanda: Good, we can use some of that.

Evan: Yeah, something about a Brava reporter being one of the two finalists for the Devilbiss award.

Amanda: What?

Evan: In the area of investigative reporting. Does that ring a bell?

Amanda: Me a finalist?

Evan: You better believe it. Congratulations.

Amanda: Oh! I can't believe--I almost forgot.

Evan: Well obviously they did not, so.

Amanda: Well, I guess they liked the video match piece, huh?

Evan: Amanda, it was a great piece.

Amanda: I could not have done it without you.

Evan: Ah, forget it. This just puts you on the map, kid.

Amanda: [Sighs loudly] Ah!

Jamie: No, don't call. No. I will confirm with your office. Right. Bye.

Vicky: Good morning.

Jamie: How long were you standing there?

Vicky: Oh, I just got here. I made you some French toast and bacon--

Jamie: I'll grab a donut at the hospital.

Vicky: Jamie, you told me that was a terrible way to start the day.

Jamie: Vicky, don't start with me.

Vicky: I was not.

Jamie: Yes you were. That's what this is.

Vicky: Husbands and wives have breakfast together.

Jamie: Typical husbands and wives, Vicky. And we are hardly typical.

Vicky: Jamie, having you here knowing--you're not really here has not been easy.

Jamie: I thought that was what you wanted, Vicky.

Vicky: I want us to try again.

Jamie: Vicky, I just talked to a lawyer.

Marley: Jake. What time is it?

Jake: Something I have to tell you.

Marley: Is something wrong?

Jake: I love you so much.

Marley: You woke me up to tell me that? I love you, too.

Jake: This is really hard to say. I never want to hurt--

Marley: Honey. Sweetheart. You could never hurt me.

Jake: Steven... Steven is my son.

Marley: [Whispers] No. God.

[Crying] Jake. Then he is my son, too. He is my son, too.

Jake: Marley.

Marley: Jake. Jake, Jake, sweetheart, you're dreaming. Are you dreaming about me?

Jake: Yeah, I was dreaming about you.

Marley: I hope it was a good one.

Jake: It was a good dream.

Marley: Good.

Jake: You know something, I have never felt closer to you.

Marley: You know you--we never finished our conversation last night.

Jake: That's because you got my mind off the subject.

Marley: You know, it's strange.

Jake: What is?

Marley: How things work out. You know, I thought once I told you that I could not have children that it would drive you away. But instead it has done just the opposite.

Jake: Hey, we are partners, right?

Marley: Mm. You know, I think that might be the problem with Vicky. I think she wants what we have rather than the other way around. I don't understand.

Marley: Well, I had a rather odd visit from Donna yesterday, and Vicky came in right in the middle of it.

Jake: What did she say?

Marley: Not much, because Donna got me out of the room and then got rid of Vicky.

Jake: That is good, because I do not want Vicky bothering you.

Marley: Well, I'm worried about her. I tried to talk to Donna about it, but then she started lecturing me on how I spend too much time with Steven.

Jake: That is crazy.

Marley: No, I know, but I understand why Vicky is so possessive of Steven. I think she is having problems with Jamie.

Jake: I think the situation is more serious than that with Vicky.

Marley: Well, maybe, but I don't really think it is any of our business--

Jake: I think there's another reason that Vicky is acting the way she is.

Marley: Let's not talk about Vicky. Let's talk about us. Better yet, let's not talk. Put it back.

Amanda: Yes, Mom, I know I would. I will, I will, don't worry. All right. I love you, too. Bye.

Evan: Was that your mother?

Amanda: Ah, yeah. I could not resist. I had to call her in Maine.

Evan: Well, good, how is she doing?

Amanda: A lot better.

Evan: She must be real proud of you.

Amanda: I just wish Daddy was here so I could tell him.

Evan: Amanda, he always believed in you.

Amanda: I would love to see the look on his face.

Evan: Hey, hey did you call Sam yet?

Amanda: No. No, I don't have to. He is coming home today.

Evan: Well, that is great. Why don't--did you plan some kind of big homecoming dinner or anything?

Amanda: No, no I haven't even had time to think about that.

Evan: Well, you better start thinking about it.

Amanda: Now?

Evan: Why not? You're not going to think about anything else for the rest of the day.

Amanda: No, that is not true.

Evan: Amanda, why don't you just go home and take care of it? I will cover for you here.

Amanda: Why would you do that?

Evan: Because it is part of the job and it is part of being a friend. Right?

Amanda: Right.

Evan: So get out of here and take care of your husband. Go on.

[Phone rings]

Amanda: Amanda Fowler.

Matt: Hi, Amanda.

Amanda: Matt? Where are you? Hilda said you went running out of the house this morning.

Matt: Yeah, I'm in New York.

Amanda: Where in New York?

Matt: Russ Matthew's apartment.

Amanda: Why didn't you tell anybody where you were going?

Matt: I left a message at Mom's hotel.

Amanda: What are you doing in New York?

Matt: I'm looking for Josie. I'm going to stay until I find her.

Amanda: She went there?

Matt: As far as I know.

Amanda: Why?

Matt: Well, I have a good idea why.

Amanda: Matt, how are you ever going to find Josie in that city? It is enormous.

Matt: Listen, I want to give you the number here.

Amanda: Matt--all right, all right. Go ahead.

Matt: 212-555-3369.

Amanda: Did you hear what I said?

Matt: Ok. I will be in touch.

Amanda: Matthew, be careful.

Matt: Yeah, I will. I just got to find her, though. Thanks, bye.

Amanda: Bye. I don't believe it.

Evan: What?

Amanda: Josie went off to New York, so my brother followed her.

Evan: Josie ran away?

Amanda: Oh, I don't know if that was what she did. I could not get anything out of Matt.

Evan: Well, New York is a rough place to be when you are in a strange state of mind.

Amanda: I cannot believe he would follow her. She has been pushing him away for months.

Evan: Amanda, Matthew is in love. And people do very strange things when they're in love.

Reuben: At least this dump has got some hot water, you know? So now the cockroaches can take a steam bath every time I turn on the faucet.

[Laughs] Josie, that was a joke.

Josie: Huh? Oh.

Reuben: Am I interrupting something?

Josie: No, I--I--I was just-I was just looking.

Reuben: You ain't got to make up no excuses. I mean, that's a great view. Especially if you're into bricks.

Josie: What are you going on about, anyway?

Reuben: Josie, you've been staring out that window for about an hour. You ok?

Josie: I'm fine.

Reuben: All right, all right. Just checking. How's your bed?

Josie: Uh, lumpy. How is yours?

Reuben: [Snorts] Is this supposed to be a bed?

Josie: Do you want to switch tonight?

Reuben: No, I better not. There is a special spring I've become very attached to.

Josie: [Laughs] Well, maybe soon we will be able to find a better place.

Reuben: Josie, I was kind of hoping all that hard thinking was about going back home.

Josie: Reuben, we just got here.

Reuben: I know. Now you have seen the big apple so now you can go back home.

Josie: I am not going back to Bay City.

Reuben: Josie--take this, all right?

Josie: No. You are going to need that. And I'm going to get a job.

Reuben: Josie, it is just money. I can get some more.

Josie: How? What are you going to do?

Reuben: I got special talents, ok?

Josie: Yeah, such as?

Reuben: I don't know. I have not really thought of them yet.

Josie: Reuben--why did you come here if you do not want to be here and you don't even know what you want to do?

Reuben: Look, it was time for me to pick up my stakes, ok?

Josie: Ok. Ok. Did you get a chance to look at the want ads?

Reuben: Nah, I didn't get-I didn't get a chance to do--

Josie: C'mon, Reuben, we got to get work. We don't have any money left. Now, I am going to check out waitressing.

Reuben: Nah, nah, that ain't for you.

Josie: Come on. You could be a waiter.

Reuben: No, no, no. I'm what you might call overqualified for that.

Josie: If we work in a restaurant we can get free meals, and more importantly, tips.

Reuben: Josie, you think too small sometimes.

Josie: I am being practical, Reuben.

Reuben: Josie, what about these?

Josie: What?

Reuben: These--look at these.

Josie: Oh--oh--those--those were not my idea. Um, it was Mrs. Wheeler's friend Lucas, it was his idea. He thought I could be a model. I guess--I guess I blew it.

Reuben: No, are you kidding? Josie, these are great. Look at these!

Josie: Well this, um, this really famous photographer Philippe something or other took them.

Reuben: Oh, yeah?

Josie: Yeah.

Reuben: You know, once you clean yourself up, you look kind of cute. Josie, this is your line of work. I'm serious.

Josie: Oh, right.

Reuben: No, I am serious, you have got the look. All you need is like an agency or something.

Josie: Reuben, I don't even know where I'd begin to find an agency.

Reuben: Maybe that's where my special talents come in.

Olivia: It is just the way I remember it.

Liz: I forgot how hot New York can be in June.

Olivia: Oh, I love it. It is pure energy. This place has the best view of the park.

Liz: You feel like dancing and I can hardly move.

Olivia: I am here to dance.

Liz: Yes, we both hope. When is your audition?

Olivia: Juliet. It is like a dream. Oh, thank you so much.

Liz: Well, you can just think of me as your fairy...grandaunt.

[Laughs] Well, adventure is good for the soul.

Olivia: Oh, I could never have pulled this off by myself. Father watches every move I make.

Liz: Well, your father is trying to make up for all those years when he was so busy. But I think young girls have to have their dreams. That's why I wanted to help.

Olivia: He is going to be furious, isn't he?

Liz: Not if you get the part.

Olivia: Ah! There's going to be competition for this role. I can't believe they're not casting it from the company.

Liz: Oh, it is going to be such a thrill to be at that audition, to watch you dance, to watch their faces, to see them discover you. Before you know it, you are going to be a prima ballerina.

Olivia: I am sorry you can't be there.

Liz: Oh, but I can.

Olivia: What?

Liz: I am going to stay.

Olivia: You are?

Liz: I would not miss this for the world.

Olivia: Oh, great.

Vicky: You have seen a lawyer?

Jamie: I have made an appointment, yes.

Vicky: So you decided to divorce me? Can it wait? I mean, can't you give us some time? We haven't even found out the results of the test yet.

Jamie: The test results don't change anything between us, Vicky.

Vicky: So that is it? I mean, you are just going to get up and walk away from me and Steven?

Jamie: I am not going to walk away-- I have to go.

Vicky: Finish what you were going to say.

Jamie: This little cozy breakfast isn't working, Vicky.

Vicky: You're going to walk away from me and not Steven, right?

Jamie: Look, Vicky, I think that joint custody is the best solution.

Vicky: How could you do this?

Jamie: I'm trying to do what is best for Steven.

Vicky: Jamie--God, no matter what happens between us, I would never keep you away from your son.

Jamie: Well, you say that now, Vicky. But you don't have much of a history for sticking to your word.

Vicky: You don't have to protect yourself against me.

Jamie: Don't I?

Vicky: Jamie, I love you.

Jamie: Don't push me, Vicky.

Vicky: I am not pushing things, you hired a lawyer, we don't even know about Steven yet.

Jamie: I have to have a lawyer.

Vicky: Why?

Jamie: Because Jake has a lawyer.

Vicky: [Gasps] What?

Jamie: Yes. Jake hired Winthrop and Edwards to represent him.

Vicky: Oh, no.

Jamie: I thought you knew. I thought that was why you were fighting with Jake in Paradise yesterday.

Vicky: Oh, I did not know he had hired a lawyer.

Jamie: Yes, well, he has. And if the test goes his way he is going to sue for custody with Steven.

Vicky: Oh, I'm sure Cass gave him that idea, too.

Jamie: No, Cass had nothing to do with this. Now listen to me, Vicky. Jake is going to try to prove that you are an unfit mother.

Vicky: Jamie, you know I am not! Pig. This was all his idea, this lawyer stuff. This is all his fault. God, I hate him. I hate him.

Jamie: You are going to need to get an attorney.

Vicky: We will get the best. We will get the very best.

Jamie: No matter what the results are.

Vicky: My own?

Jamie: Yes.

Vicky: Jamie, why can't we have the same lawyer?

Jamie: I have to go.

Vicky: Jamie!

[Door closes] I'm not going to let you get away with this, Jake. I am not going to let you get away with this.

Caroline: Evan.

Evan: Caroline.

Caroline: Where's Amanda?

Evan: She is not here.

Caroline: Well, the receptionist does not know that.

Evan: So?

Caroline: Well, is she all right?

Evan: She is fine. Sam is due back today and I thought she should be there when he arrives.

Caroline: How considerate. He is delayed, actually, that is why I stopped by.

Evan: Well, then that is just too bad, isn't it?

Caroline: Well, I guess I will call her at the loft, unless you're going to speak to her first.

Evan: One second.

[Door slams]

Caroline: My, aren't we charming?

Evan: I'd like to speak to you first.

Caroline: Very charming today, aren't we?

Evan: Yeah, I'm a little disappointed in you, Caroline, and a little angry.

Caroline: At me?

Evan: You have no right to discuss me with Amanda or what you think my feelings might be, or even warn her that she may be taking advantage of me.

Caroline: I was just looking out for you.

Evan: Well then don't. Just mind your own business and you will not be minding mine.

Caroline: I was afraid for your feelings. And I still am.

Evan: Oh, spare me. I am not in love with Amanda, if that's what you think.

Caroline: Well that is really good, because Amanda is in love with Sam, and that is not likely to change. I do not know why she is dallying around with you in the first place. It is bloody unfair.

Evan: Oh, get off of it, Caroline, she is not dallying around with me, I have no romantic interest in Amanda whatsoever. Understand? Ok.

Caroline: No. It is not ok. You and I were lovers and before and after that we were friends. I know you. You would not be this upset unless you really--

Evan: Unless what?

Caroline: Unless you really were in love with her. Cannot give it up, can you?

Amanda: Beat until glossy, 50 strokes. 1, 2, 3, 4--

[Knocking] 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9--

Vicky: Hi, hi, hi!

Amanda: Hi, what a surprise!

Vicky: Well, I had to drop off an extra set of keys to Courtney for my old apartment.

Amanda: Oh, great, come on in.

Vicky: Thank you. What are you making?

Amanda: Just some Boston cream pie. Icing?

Vicky: Yum.

Amanda: Uh! Good. 15, 16, 17... Sam is coming home today so I'm trying to get this feast ready. I'm running around like a mad person. Oh. Alli got another tooth!

Vicky: She did! She gets cuter every time I see her.

Amanda: How's Steven?

Vicky: You know, I think he is teething too, actually.

Amanda: It's kind of early, isn't it?

Vicky: Yeah, I think so, but he is drooling all the time, so I use a bib.

Amanda: 47, 48, 49, 50.

Vicky: Whew!

Amanda: I think.

Vicky: You know, Amanda, I never got to tell you how impressed I was with your article on video match.

Amanda: Oh, thank you!

Vicky: Oh, let me help you with some of this stuff. You know, what did you call it, ah--a high-tech cover up for prostitution?

Amanda: Yeah--well, they were actually trying to get away with just calling it an escort service.

Vicky: Oh. Can't believe Jake worked for them.

Amanda: You know that?

Vicky: Yeah, didn't you?

Amanda: Sure, yeah, I knew that. But he told me not to tell anyone.

Vicky: Oh, I'll bet.

Amanda: Well, he was only involved in the taping of the clients. I mean, he wasn't involved in any illegal aspect.

Vicky: As far as you know.

Amanda: Well, Vicky, I did the article. I think I know. What is going on between the two of you, anyway?

Vicky: Nothing.

Amanda: C'mon, I know that isn't true.

Vicky: That woman who ran the whole thing--was her real name auntie Rose?

Amanda: No. It was, uh, Florence McClain.

Vicky: Oh, she did all the hiring and firing and stuff.

Amanda: Look, Vicky, I'm sorry, I really--I do not like to talk about it, you know? I mean, the kidnapping and everything.

Vicky: Oh, yeah, Amanda. I'm sorry. God. Ok. Let's talk about Sam. How did his show go in New York?

Amanda: Oh, pretty good-I think, anyway. I'm still waiting to hear the details.

Vicky: Oh.

Amanda: We have so much to catch up on.

Vicky: So much to do. Well, I will let you go because I am sure you want to change before he gets here.

Amanda: Oh! Well, look, um, thanks for your help anyway.

Vicky: Oh, sure.

Amanda: I really miss not having you next door.

Vicky: I know. I miss having you there, too. You're always handy when I need something.

[Laughs] I will see you later, and give Sam a kiss for me.

Amanda: Sure, you got it. Um, Vicky?

Vicky: Yeah?

Amanda: Is everything ok between you and Jamie?

Vicky: Don't worry. Everything is going to be just fine. Ta-ta.

Amanda: Bye.

Josie: Ok, I got the quarters.

Reuben: Good, good, good. All right, ah--let's get started.

Josie: Reuben, I don't think this is going to work.

Reuben: Well, thanks for that vote of confidence. You're too much, Josie. I'm telling you... now look, hold this, all right?

Josie: We are going to call all of these agencies?

Reuben: No, no, no. I am going to call all these modeling agencies.

Josie: Reuben, we're going to use up all of our money if we do this.

Reuben: Look, I want to get you that interview, all right? Even if I got to use that guy's name, what is it again? That big shot?

Josie: Reuben, that would be so dishonest. I mean, you're--you are going to make me sound like I'm a-I don't know what.

Reuben: Like a hot property, Josie.

Josie: But I am not.

Reuben: Josie, sometimes you have got to bend the rules. You know. Sometimes. Now give me a quarter. Give me a couple of them. All right, good. All right.

Josie: Hey, who are you going to call first?

Reuben: Um, I don't know, let's see. Uh-Sheik. Sheik Miles. That sounds cool, doesn't it?

Josie: Sheik?

Reuben: Sheik Miles, that's cool.

Josie: Whatever you say.

Reuben: All right. Let's see the number.

Reuben: All right. Just be quiet, all right? Yes, hello, this is Mr. Lawrence and I'm calling for Lucas.

Josie: Reuben!

Reuben: You be quiet. Yes, yes. I am new. I'm the administrative assistant.

Josie: Ah, please.

Reuben: Will you shut up. Thank you.

Olivia: You know, aunt Liz, I think you should stay here. I mean how often do you get a chance to enjoy the city by yourself?

Liz: By myself?

Olivia: Oh, I won't be here. I will be working with a coach, and when I am not doing that, I will be working on my audition.

Liz: All the time?

Olivia: Mm-hmm, most of it.

Liz: Well, can't we enjoy the city first?

Olivia: Aunt Liz, this is not vacation. I mean, not for me. Oh, but you go ahead. Go shopping, get theater tickets, go to the park.

Liz: Well, can't you take today off?

Olivia: Oh, no, I have to find a studio today.

Liz: Oh, I wanted to take you to my favorite French restaurant.

Olivia: [Laughs] I'm in training, aunt Liz. It's strictly salads and pasta. No sauce.

Liz: [Moans] Oh.

Olivia: But there is nothing stopping you, right?

Liz: Oh, dinner for one, not a thing.

Olivia: And I won't get in your way at all. I mean, I'll always be out.

Liz: Olivia.

Olivia: There is only one thing that bothers me, aunt Liz.

Liz: What?

Olivia: Father.

Liz: What about him?

Olivia: Well, what if he gets suspicious? Or lonely, with you gone, too?

Liz: Olivia, you know, perhaps I should go back to Bay City and receive all those postcards you've already written--

Olivia: And paint a picture of the happy camper for father?

Liz: Exactly.

Olivia: Oh! Are you sure you won't mind giving up your vacation?

Liz: In New York, 90-degree heat, by myself? I think I can sacrifice.

Olivia: Oh, thank you, aunt Liz! You know, I really hate to think of father being worried.

Liz: Olivia, you will call?

Olivia: Oh, every night if it makes you feel better.

Liz: Well, it will, because New York City is not exactly a picnic ground.

Olivia: I know. That is why I am going with you to the airport.

Liz: What?

Olivia: Oh, I mean there is a noon flight back. You could catch that and nobody would even know you'd left.

Liz: No, I suppose they wouldn't.

Josie: I don't believe this.

Reuben: [False accent] Ok, ah, let's see, Miss Watts is booked up until Thursday. No--no--I believe there is an opening right here on her schedule for tomorrow at 1. How is that for you? Oh, that is just great. Well, ah, let's see, did you receive that picture I sent you? Oh, you didn't?

Josie: No, you're pushing too hard!

Reuben: Oh, ok, that's fine, that's fine. Well, I will send you one as soon as possible. Sure. Excuse me? No, no, Miss Watts does not have a service number as of yet. But, ah--no, no, I understand that you can't keep the coast waiting. Um, I tell you what, why don't you call me back at this number--let's see--ok, that's 555-9732. Yes. Yes, that is just wonderful. Ciao to you, too. Bye now.

Josie: What happened?

Reuben: I don't know. They said it was some kind of emergency call from Hollywood.

Josie: They caught on.

Reuben: I think so.

Josie: Oh, no, Reuben, what if they really call Lucas back?

Reuben: I'm sorry about that, I was just kind of on a roll, you know?

Josie: Oh, no, no, that is ok. You were great.

Reuben: You think so?

Josie: Yeah.

Reuben: Really?

Josie: I even started believing you myself.

Reuben: Get out of here. That was a bad idea. C'mon, let's go.

Josie: Guess so.

[Phone rings]

Olivia: Thanks for everything. You know, father always told me you were the greatest mastermind of the family.

Liz: Yes, somehow I feel that that trait has been handed down.

[Laughs] Good luck, my dear. I am sure you will make a most spirited Juliet.

Olivia: If I get the part, I will dedicate my performance to you.

Liz: I will keep my fingers crossed. Oh, you do not have to bother to take me to the airport. I can make it by myself.

Olivia: Ok, bye.

Liz: Bye.

Olivia: [Sighs] Oh. Alone at last. [Whistling]

Matt: Darn it.

Olivia: That is funny. Gum? Aspirin? Aunt Liz, you're so sweet.

Evan: Jamie.

Jamie: Hello, Evan. I guess--I missed Amanda.

Evan: No, no. She is at the loft. Sam is due back today, and--if that's important, I can run--

Jamie: No, this can wait. Thanks anyway, Evan.

Evan: Jamie.

Jamie: Yeah?

Evan: Were you aware that Matthew left to go to New York to look for Josie?

Jamie: No, I wasn't. What is Josie doing in New York?

Evan: Nobody knows.

Jamie: Well, I appreciate your telling me.

Evan: The reason I'm telling you is not just because you're her brother but because of Josie, too.

Jamie: Huh. Well, does Sharlene know?

Evan: Yes, I called her.

Jamie: You did, huh?

Evan: Well, yes, she's, uh, she's our aunt.

Jamie: Yeah, that's right, she is. And we're the next generation of Frames. Off to a great start.

Evan: Well, now, I always got the sense that you were proud to be a Frame.

Jamie: No, I am. Most of the time.

Evan: Jamie, I am trying to make a new start with my life, and Rachel and Amanda have sort of given me a second chance.

Jamie: I know. But they're not Frames.

Evan: I know, and I have not done much for the honor of the family.

Jamie: If you're asking me to trust you, Evan, it is going to take time. I mean, you were here for months before any of us knew who you really were.

Evan: No, I am not asking you to trust me. I just want you to give me a chance.

Jamie: Ok.

Evan: Thanks.

Marley: Hungry?

Jake: I am ravenous. I guess I worked up quite an appetite.

Marley: Well, I have got tons of food left over from last night that was never eaten.

Jake: Ah, I forgot about that. No wonder my stomach is grumbling.

Marley: Mm, that could have something to do with it, so how do you feel about pork chops for breakfast? It is our special today.

Jake: [Sighs] Can I get some mashed potatoes?

Marley: The works. And today, it is only served in bed.

Jake: Yes, well, then I think I will have two orders.

Marley: Two? You must be famished!

Jake: My wife will be joining me, won't she?

Marley: Oh, absolutely. I won't take long.

Jake: Let me help.

Marley: No, no, no! You just sit down and relax. I will be right back. [Humming] [Sighs]

Caroline: Anyway, give these forms to Sam when he gets in.

Amanda: Well, he did not give you a flight number or anything?

Caroline: Well, they were all booked, but he will get the first seat that's available. He did try to call you here and at Brava.

Amanda: I guess I must have been on my way. Well, he is going to make it today, isn't he?

Caroline: Sure, look, don't worry. It is just a bit of airport gridlock. But you're going to have to wait.

Amanda: I can't wait to hear all these details from the show.

Caroline: Well, I will let him tell you. I've got to go.

Amanda: All right, well, thanks for everything.

Caroline: Pleasure.

Amanda: Can you--you have one more minute?

Caroline: Yeah.

Amanda: I think I owe you an apology. For the way I acted when you were talking to me about Evan.

Caroline: I should not have said anything. Evan is furious with me.

Amanda: He is?

Caroline: Yes. I am going to stay out of it. It's none of my business.

Amanda: Well look, I know it must've looked awful. I mean, walking in, seeing the two of us alone in my parents' house, and me standing there in my nightgown.

Caroline: Evan was right. It was none of my business.

Amanda: I was not even thinking about it. I mean, I've just gotten so comfortable with him, you know?

Caroline: I understand.

Amanda: You were right. You were right, though. I really should not have been sitting there with him like that, and I'm very grateful to you for pointing that out.

Caroline: Yeah, well Evan is not.

Amanda: There's nothing between Evan and me. I mean, there never will be.

Caroline: Amanda, can I give you one last piece of advice?

Amanda: Sure.

Caroline: Why don't you tell Evan this, not me.

Amanda: But I already did.

Caroline: Do you really think he understands?

Amanda: Yes, we had a long talk. We sorted everything out.

Caroline: Really.

Amanda: Yes, we are just friends.

Caroline: Well, that is important, isn't it?

[Knock on the door]

Amanda: Excuse me.

Evan: Hi, Amanda, I'm really sorry to bother you, but I've got a stack of checks here that needed your sig--signature. Hi, Caroline.

Caroline: Hello, love. Well, I'll leave you two to get back to work, won't I?

Amanda: Well, thanks again.

Caroline: Sure.

Amanda: Come on in. Oh, hi, cutie. Hi. How was your nap? Oh, look, do you have a minute? I mean, I have to feed Alli.

Evan: No, I'm really in a hurry, I need to get back to the office, I need your signature.

Amanda: Look, I'll just fix a bottle, ok?

Alli: Ah, be beh.

[Continues baby talk]

Evan: Great. Oh, here we go. Listen, looks like you took my advice and planned a nice dinner.

Amanda: Oh, gosh--I've been running around like a mad person. I'm trying to get this whole thing ready.

Evan: Well, it doesn't show.

Amanda: Hey, you know how this works, right?

Evan: Yeah, I think you just let her have it and you let her come up for air every once in a while, is that it?

Amanda: [Laughs] Yeah, something like that. All right, come on, sit down. It is a lot easier.

Evan: Ok. Well, Alli, you and I are going to get comfortable here, and--listen, that payroll book is right there.

Amanda: Oh, great. You have a pen?

Evan: Yeah, I do. Hold on, there we go. One second.

Amanda: All these?

Evan: Yeah, you're--well, unfortunately, since Rachel is not back, you're the only one who is authorized to sign those.

Amanda: Right, I know, I know. So it looks like Sam and I are not going to get our celebrating underway for quite some time.

Evan: Well, that's ok, I think we will be done by the time he gets back.

Amanda: Oh, no, Caroline just told me that he is having a tough time getting flights.

Evan: That's really too bad.

Amanda: I hate to think of all this food going to waste.

Evan: How am I doing, Alli? Hmm? Is it good?

Amanda: Hold it. I just got a great idea. Alli is on the right track. I think we should all take a lunch break.

Evan: I don't know, I have got to get back to the office, and--

Amanda: Oh, come on, you'd be crazy to let all this food go to waste. Sam's never going to be here on time.

Evan: I know it'd be crazy, but, um--

Amanda: So, c'mon, let's eat.

Evan: How can I say no? No, no, no, no, no. No, I'm not--

Amanda: You cannot say no, can he, Alli? Huh? All right, we've got you, you're a prisoner now. [Laughs] [Baby babbles]

Vicky: Well, I am glad you could come by on such short notice, Florence.

Florence: Well, when we spoke on the phone you mentioned a business proposition.

Vicky: That is right. Shall we have some tea?

Florence: Yes, thank you.

Vicky: I will be very direct. I read the article about Video Match. I'm sure it has not been easy for you.

Florence: Mrs. Frame, if I'd felt that you wanted to talk about that disgusting article, I never would have come.

Vicky: Oh, no, please calm down, I don't.

Florence: And do not feel that you can trick me into making an incriminating statement, because I'm on to all of that.

Vicky: Relax. I'm not a lawyer, I'm not the police. I just want to talk some business.

Florence: What sort of business?

Vicky: Jake McKinnon worked for you at Video Match, didn't he?

Florence: Yes, that is true, he made some tapes. That was the extent of it.

Vicky: Nothing else.

Florence: No.

Vicky: Do you have employment records proving that Jake worked for you... at Video Match during the time the scandal came out?

Florence: Well, I'm sure that I do. I kept all those records during that unfortunate period.

Vicky: Good. I want a copy of Jake's records.

Florence: And that is all you want? What is in it for me?

Vicky: I pay very well.

Florence: How well?

Vicky: Well enough for you to get a new start, get far away from Bay City.

Florence: May I assume we are talking 5 figures?

Vicky: Oh, most definitely.

Florence: Well, I think this little arrangement will work out quite nicely.

Vicky: For both of us.

Ark announcer:) Time for the seventh inning stretch.

Reuben: [Laughs] [False accent] Yes, yes, yes. Well, I am just so glad that we could work this all out. Yes. That is fine. Ok, tah-tah. Bye, now. I thought I almost blew it that first second--

Josie: What happened, what happened?

Reuben: I got you an interview for Sheik Modeling!

Josie: Oh my gosh!

Reuben: Yes, you got it!

Josie: Thank you, thank you, that is wonderful!

Reuben: You got an interview, but the interview is for this afternoon.

Josie: That is terrible.

Reuben: Oh, you are going to be great, Josie, come on.

Josie: I've got to start getting ready. And what am I going to wear? Look at my clothes, Reuben, they are wrinkled and ruined and I do not have an iron and my hair--my hair!

Reuben: Come on, Josie, chill out. All you got to do is walk in there with those pictures and they're going to love you.

Josie: But I'm going to be nervous, I don't know what to say. I babble when I'm nervous. I'm going to go on and on and on--

Reuben: No, you are not. You are not going to babble. You know why? You are going to walk in there in that office with attitude. You hear me?

Josie: I am?

Reuben: Yes, you are. They are going to drop dead over you.

Josie: How am I going to do that?

Reuben: Josie, just be yourself.

Josie: That's it?

Reuben: That is it. Josie, they are going to thank me, they are going to thank Lucas, they are going to thank their lucky stars for landing you. I am telling you.

Josie: Do you really think so?

Reuben: I know so, Josie. You are a very special girl.

Josie: Oh--ok!

Matt: [Sighs] [Screams]

Olivia: Matt Cory!

Matt: You!

Amanda: Would you stop telling me that I'm going to win the devilbiss?

Evan: Well, I think you will.

Amanda: Come on, it is an honor just to be nominated.

Evan: Well, that is true, but why don't you save that for your acceptance speech? It's going to be a nice little touch.

Amanda: Will you stop?

Evan: Alli, do you think mommy is going to be a winner? [In a baby voice] Yes, I think my mommy is going to be a big winner.

Amanda: [Laughs] You guys are going to jinx me.

Alli: Appi.

Evan: Ok, then you are not going to win.

Amanda: You cannot say that. You can't say that.

Evan: [Fake baby voice] Stop it, stop it, stop it.

Amanda: Get him, get him! Sam!

Jake: Marley, you cooking those lamb chops or what?

Marley: Is this true? Are you Steven's father?
