Sam: See, Alli, we're supposed to do this scoop by scoop. Six scoops make a pie, huh? But guess what -- daddy canít find the scooper. Daddy canít find a lot of things lately. That's great. That's just great!

[Knock on door]

Sam: I'm sorry, Alli. I'm sorry. I'm sorry, ok?

Caroline: You look terrible.

Sam: Thanks very much. Come on in.

Caroline: Well, at least Alli looks lovely, though. Hello, darling. Hello, precious. Have you heard from Amanda?

Sam: Yeah. She called on Monday.

Caroline: So what'd she say? What's going on? When's she coming home?

Sam: She didnít say. She said she was working and that we shouldnít worry and then she hung up.

Caroline: Well, at least she called.

Sam: Yeah, well, there's still something funny about this whole business.

Alli: Hi.

Sam: Hey.

Caroline: Hmm?

Sam: How you doing, Alli?

Caroline: Hmm.

Sam: Listen, have you heard from Evan Bates lately?

Caroline: You know, it's funny you ask that --

[Alli fusses]

Caroline: Oh.

Sam: Why?

Caroline: Because apparently, he's disappeared himself just a few days ago.

Sam: Wait a minute, wait a minute. What are you saying? Are you saying Amanda ran off with Evan bates?

Alli: Oh.

Amanda: I keep thinking about Alli. She'd be lying down for her nap right about now. I'd give her half a bottle, read her a story. Sam would be coming home for lunch.

Evan: We're not going to break out of here, that's for sure. Oh, man. Listen, we've got to figure some way to outsmart Dustin.

Amanda: How?

Evan: I donít know yet.

Amanda: He has us locked in this room. How are we supposed to outsmart somebody that holds all the cards?

Evan: You got to have faith, Amanda.

Amanda: Nobody is even looking for us. They donít know where we are. They think I'm on assignment or something.

Evan: Amanda, listen to me. I canít work on this by myself. I need you to help me. I canít do it alone. Now, will you help me?

Ada: Ok, ladies.

Donna: Oh, Ada, this is perfect.

Ada: My pleasure.

Donna: Now, we want today's lunch to be extra special because Marley and I so rarely get to go out, so we fully expect you to treat us like royalty.

Ada: We'll do the best we can. I'll send a waitress over.

Donna: Well, isnít this splendid?

Marley: Fine.

Donna: I think just what you need is a nice lunch on the town. Oh, also, a little surprise. Oh, come on, darling. Aren't you just the least bit curious? Marley --

Marley: When will you ever learn that money cannot solve everything?

Jake: Forgive me, father, for I have sinned.

Donna: Marley, just calm down.

Marley: I'm trying. I am trying.

Donna: It's just a little present.

Marley: You are so insensitive.

Donna: What on earth have I done?

Marley: You have not realized any of my feelings today.

Donna: That's not true.

Marley: It is true. We got in the taxi and all you talk about is shopping. Do you not think about anything else?

Donna: Sometimes in my experience, I find that shopping cheers people up. It's not fair to treat me like this. I'm only trying to get you out of your doldrums.

Ada: Hasn't the waitress taken your order yet?

Donna: No, she hasnít. Actually, we need a few more minutes.

Ada: Oh. Ok. Just yell when you need me.

Donna: All right, let's get this out in the open. You wouldnít tell me in the car when I picked you up. What's wrong?

Marley: I saw Eric Janssen the other day.

Donna: The fertility specialist?

Marley: He told me I would probably never be able to conceive. Do you understand now?

Jake: It's been a long time since my last confession. I'm -- I'm not sure what I do next.

Priest: Just tell me what's troubling you.

Jake: That's not easy.

Priest: There's nothing to be afraid of. This is God's house.

Jake: You happen to be right. I've sinned, father. I have made a terrible mistake, and I -- I really think it's unforgivable.

Priest: No sin is unforgivable if it is confessed. That's why you're here, isnít it, to clear your conscience?

Jake: I just needed someone to talk to.

Priest: Tell me.

Jake: I would do anything if I could change what happened, but I donít think I could change the fact --

Priest: Go on -- the fact about what?

Jake: My wife's sister had a baby. And that baby, I think it's mine.

Caroline: Of course I'm not saying Evan ran off with Amanda.

Sam: Well, then, what are you saying?

Caroline: Would you please calm down?

Sam: Right. Sorry, Alli. Donít mind your daddy. He's being silly today.

Caroline: Oh.

Sam: What do you think? About time for a nap, huh?

Caroline: Hmm.

Sam: Yeah. Let's put you down.

Caroline: Where's the lady who normally looks after her?

Sam: I told Mrs. Martin that I'd rather have Alli with me today.

[Alli talks]

Sam: Yeah?

Caroline: That's really nice.

Sam: Yeah. What's very nice?

Caroline: Well, the way you love her and the way you want to look after her when Amandaís gone.

Sam: Amandaís not gone. She's away. Even if she is -- even if she did call, man, there's just something that doesn't feel right. What were you saying about Evan?

Caroline: All I was saying, that nobody's seen him for the last two days.

Sam: Then maybe he is involved with this.

Caroline: Hey, come on. I know you and Evan donít get along, but that's really --

Sam: Well, look, I'm just trying to figure this out, ok? Look, Evan was over here the day after Amanda disappeared and he was asking all sorts of questions.

Caroline: Huh. He came to the gallery, too, and he was asking lots of questions.

Sam: Questions about Amanda?

Caroline: Yeah. He seemed pretty worried about her.

Sam: Well, what did he ask?

Caroline: Well, where she was and what she was doing, and then a very pretty customer came in called Lauren and as soon as Evan recognized her --

Sam: Oh, please.

Caroline: He wanted to --

Sam: The last thing I want to do right now is hear about Evan Bates' love life.

Caroline: Sam, would you please let me finish.

Sam: I'm sorry.

Caroline: He said her name was Lauren and Evan also said that she knew Amanda.

Sam: What?

Caroline: Yeah. You see, he wanted me to get some information about her, so that when she gave me the check, she told me that she worked for video match as a model.

Sam: Wait a second. That doesn't make any sense. Video match is a dating service. They wouldnít need models unless --

Caroline: What?

Sam: Amanda mentioned something about a V.I.P. service, kind of like an escort service.

Caroline: Oh. Well, then it does make sense that Evan was bothered that Lauren spent the night with Dustin the same day that Amanda disappeared.

Sam: Well, wait a second. What does Dustin have to do with Amandaís disappearance?

Dustin: Hello. What, no greeting?

Evan: What do you want, Dustin?

Dustin: Scripts for you to learn.

Amanda: What?

Dustin: A little scene we can all rehearse. Mr. Hollingsworth is going to be here in a few days. Naturally, his lovely daughter is preparing an intimate dinner party for him.

Evan: Why donít we cut this stupid charade?

Dustin: You are going to play Mr. Hollingsworth. Andrews is a terrific bodyguard, but he's a lousy actor.

Amanda: I donít want to do this.

Dustin: I think you should change your mind. I want both of your performances to be fantastic, as if your lives depended on it.

(Whimsical music playing)

Donna: I was in the same predicament about a year and a half ago and the doctors told me that I could never have children again.

Marley: You already had children. This is not the same thing.

Donna: Let me finish. Now, a few months ago, they told me things had changed, that I could have children. Oh, this could happen to you, too.

Marley: No. No more false hope. It's worse.

Donna: I wish I could do something for you. I know how much you want a child of your own.

Marley: I was so willing to do anything. There's nothing to do now.

Donna: Yes, there is. There are other options.

Marley: Adoption.

Donna: Yes. Look at our wonderful little Michael. We were able to adopt him, and he's as good as our own flesh and blood. Now, it's a wonderful feeling, Marley, it is.

Marley: I do not want somebody else's child. I want my child in my body --

Donna: Darling?

Marley: Next to me.

Donna: Calm down --

Marley: This is the one thing a husband and wife can share --

Donna: Marley?

Marley: Is the special, beautiful thing --

Donna: Keep your voice down.

Marley: And nobody can change that. I've been cheated!

Donna: Marley, keep your voice down. Darling --

Marley: I donít care about my voice!

Donna: Darling --

Marley: I'm always good! I've been true to myself and I get paid back like this!

Donna: Darling --

Ada: Marley, honey, are you ok?

Donna: Oh! Oh, goodness.

Ada: That's all right, that's all right. Take it easy. The busboy will get it.

Donna: Oh.

Jake: I love my wife, I really do. But last year, she -- she stopped sleeping with me. And I ended up --

Jake: You see, there was this girl at work.

Priest: And you slept with her?

Jake: Yes.

Priest: What happened?

Jake: Well, Marley -- that's my wife -- she found out about it and she left me. I mean, I tried to do everything I could to stop her, but she kept pushing me away and blaming me. I mean, I'm not using this as an excuse. But I thought I'd lost her for good. And her sister -- well, she and I -- we were lovers before I met my wife and she was lonely, too.

Priest: Go on.

Jake: I mean, we didnít plan it or anything. I mean, it's not like --

Jake: She got pregnant and she married this other guy. And she's -- says that the baby is his.

Priest: And you donít believe her.

Jake: I think that she wants to believe it's true. I mean, I just donít think she wants to hurt Marley. Neither do I. You see, my wife -- she canít have kids.

Priest: Your wife --

Jake: It was stupid, man. I swear I didnít mean to hurt anybody. It was stupid. It was one stupid mistake, and now I donít know what to do, you know?

Priest: I think you do. You came here.

Jake: So what? I get absolution? I get forgiven? What about my wife? What about the baby?

Priest: Are you going to tell her?

Jake: Man, I just told you, it would kill her.

Priest: Then why are you in such pain?

Jake: What if he is my son? I mean, what if I'm the father? Do I just walk away, just like that?

Priest: Son, do you want forgiveness for what you've done or for what you are about to do?

Caroline: I didnít say Dustin had anything to do with her disappearance.

Sam: Sorry. I'm jumping to conclusions again.

Caroline: What are you so upset about? She called on Monday night. She's working undercover.

Sam: Yeah, well, that's what she said.

Caroline: Do you maybe think she's not telling the truth?

Sam: Maybe she couldnít. Maybe someone was listening to the conversation and made her say that she was ok.

Caroline: I think that's a little drastic.

Sam: Look, I donít care what you call it!

Caroline: Hey.

Sam: I just want her back.

Caroline: Would you calm down, take it easy. Look, Evan was edgy about it, as well. Maybe she is on to something dangerous. Maybe Evan knew something.

Sam: Wait a second. Maybe that was it.

Caroline: Hmm? What?

Sam: When Evan was over here asking all those questions, it was like he knew something.

Caroline: Hmm. And now he's disappeared, too.

Sam: Wait a second, Wait a second.

Caroline: What?

Sam: There's a pattern here.

Caroline: Mm-hmm?

Sam: There's -- all right, all right. All right, Amanda works on the video match story, she meets Dustin through video match. Then she meets this woman. What was her name?

Caroline: Lauren, Lauren.

Sam: Lauren. She meets Lauren through video match and Lauren maybe works for that V.I.P. escort service.

Caroline: Hmm.

Sam: We got to find that woman Lauren. Come on, you're coming with me.

Caroline: What?

Sam: You're going to help me.

Caroline: Sam, what in the hell can I do to help?

Sam: Look, we're going to go to video match; we're going to find out Laurenís phone number, we're going to ask her questions about where Amanda is. Look, do you think you could recognize this woman again?

Caroline: Well, of course I could.

Sam: All right, great. Then maybe Auntie Rose will be able to give us some answers. I'm going to call Mrs. Martin and have her come and take care of Alli.

Caroline: Sam?

Sam: What?

Caroline: If you're going to go to a dating service -- look, I mean, really, you --

Sam: Donít worry about it. I'll look the part, but I tell you what, I do want some answers.

Dustin: Now, dinner has been served and there's a lull in the conversation.

Evan: Wait, hold on -- where does it say "lull in the conversation"?

Dustin: It doesn't, it doesnít. I'm just trying to set the scene.

Evan: Oh, I'm sorry. I thought maybe I'd lost my place. Dustin, did you write this script?

Dustin: Never mind. Take the conversation, Amanda.

Amanda: "It's been so long, father. I hardly know where to begin. How is your health?"

Evan: No, see, that's kind of crass.

Dustin: Just stick to the script!

Evan: Well, wait one second here. If you haven't seen your father in over 20 years, why are you going to talk about his health right away?

Dustin: Never mind the critique.

Evan: No, really. It does sound like she's waiting for the guy to keel over to me.

Dustin: Read what I wrote!

Evan: But what is the point in the scene? How is it going to get to --?

Dustin: Just read it!

Evan: "My health --"

[Evan coughs]

Evan: "Hasn't been too good lately anymore."

[Evan gags]

Amanda: "I'm sorry to hear that."

Evan: See, I've really got a problem with this health thing.

Dustin: What are you trying to pull?

Evan: I'm not trying to pull anything. If the guy came over, why wouldnít he want to ask his own daughter --?

Dustin: We are doing this for Amandaís benefit. You're not even going to be here. Just stick to the script!

Evan: Ok, fine, Mr. Direct...

Dustin: That's right.

Evan: But I'll tell you right now, Mike Nichols would not treat his actors this way. I know that for a fact.

[Dustin sighs]

Evan: Here's another thing here. Why --

Dustin: Just do it!

Evan: Look -- look what you've just done.

Dustin: All right, all right, that's it. That's it. It's over. I'm finished. That's it!

Evan: Amanda, are you ok?

Dustin: You know, we're not doing this for my benefit. We're doing it for Amanda.

Evan: You better calm down. Your veins are sticking out in your neck.

Dustin: And if she is not successful --

Evan: Donít you threaten her.

Dustin: I thought a mother with a child who wanted to see her husband would try a lot harder. I need your help, Amanda, and you need mine.

[Dustin locks door]

Evan: Are you ok?

Amanda: Yeah. I just get scared sometimes.

Evan: So do I.

Amanda: I keep thinking about Sam and Alli.

Evan: All right, but, listen, we've got to come up with some kind of plan to get out of here.

Amanda: I donít see how we can do anything. Dustin just gets so angry.

Evan: Exactly, which means that whatever we come up with we've got to make him believe that we're going for all this, that we're falling right into his hands.

Amanda: If we do what he wants us to do --?

Evan: Ok, I know, I know. Why would that be to our advantage?

Amanda: He seems almost obsessed with this money.

Evan: No, you see, he's always been hung up on money.

Amanda: All right, is there something else, something else that drives him? Passions, weaknesses?

[Evan snaps fingers]

Evan: Passion.

Amanda: What?

Evan: I think you just gave me the key to Dustin and a way that we might get out of here, Amanda.

Ada: That's fine, Jay. Thank you very much.

Donna: I'm worried that she's not coming back.

Ada: Well, she just needs time to pull herself together, that's all.

Donna: She might just leave.

Ada: Not Marley. She'll be back.

Donna: I just donít understand her. Victoria gets angry at me like this all the time, but Marley never does. I just always have thought I've known her so well.

Ada: Well, our children always surprise us, especially when they're not children anymore.

Donna: But Marleyís always been so level-headed. She's always been so adult. You probably wonít believe this, but when she was younger, she used to act more like an adult than I did.

Ada: No kidding.

Donna: Oh, I -- it hurts me so much to see her wounded like this and I canít fix it, I canít do anything about it. Mothers are supposed to be able to do those things.

Ada: Mothers are supposed to be able to let go, too.

Donna: Oh, there you are.

Ada: Hey, Marley.

Donna: I worried about you.

Ada: Keeping your seat warm for you.

Marley: Thanks. I'm sorry I spilled.

Ada: Oh, donít worry about it. Donít worry about it. The busboy took care of everything and it's -- it should have been wine. You know, that's supposed to be good luck.

Donna: Yes, maybe we can order a glass and spill some accidentally.

Ada: Enjoy your lunch. I'll be over here of you want me.

Marley: Thanks, Ada.

Donna: It was just a joke. I was just joking. Are you all right?

Marley: No.

Donna: Darling, I know this all seems terrible now, but it will pass. And when it does, maybe you can think about adopting.

Marley: I feel so empty, inadequate.

Donna: Oh, no, no! You are no such thing.

Marley: Jake is going to realize it and he'll leave me, too.

Jake: Like I said, I've never been very good at doing the right thing. Sometimes I do things and I donít even know why.

Priest: God still loves you. Always remember that. No matter what you've done, no matter how you've displeased him, God still loves you.

Jake: What about my wife? Will she? And I thought I finally had it, you know? When I got married, I -- but I blew that. All I want to do is make things right for me, for -- for my wife, for everybody. I am tired. I am tired of causing trouble.

Priest: Then you repent your sins?

Jake: Yes.

Priest: Good. Now you must show your repentance to God.

Jake: How?

Priest: By leading a life that reflects his love, his forgiveness. And you also need to find out the truth before you decide what to do.

Jake: "Find out"?

Priest: Once you know the truth, you can move forward with your life.

Jake: I donít know if I have enough strength.

Priest: To face the truth? You're going to have to have it. Otherwise, you'll never find peace.

Jake: Truth.

Donna: I want to know what Jake has done.

Marley: He's gotten attached to Steven. He goes over there every day to see Steven.

Donna: Well, I'm sure that'll pass. He did, after all, help to deliver the child. I'm sure he's just feeling some sort of responsibility --

Marley: That's exactly what he feels.

Donna: A sense of responsibility?

Marley: Jake experienced something with Steven that -- that bonded them. I'll never be able to give him that.

Donna: Well, I'm sure that'll pass, too. Just wait till Steven gets to the colicky stage. Wait until he spits up for the 15th time on Jakeís shoulder. You'll see he'll change his tune.

Jake: Hi.

Marley: Hi.

Jake: Donna.

Donna: Hi.

Jake: So, how's it going?

Marley: Fine. Just -- just fine. You?

Jake: Fine, just fine.

Amanda: I donít see how we can trick him at all. He's got everything figured out.

Evan: You said it before. You said "passion." You've got to remember this guy was so jealous of Julia, he was -- it was incredible.

Amanda: But I am not Julia.

Evan: And he wants you to play Julia.

Amanda: You mean you want me to get him to care about me?

Evan: No. What I want you to do is get him to the point where you could press his buttons the same way Julia did and, wham, he'll make a big mistake.

Amanda: Yeah, but can I do it?

Evan: It's worth a try, isnít it?

Amanda: All right. All right, yeah. I'll do anything. I'll do anything to get back to Sam and Alli.

Evan: Good. Let's get started. Ok, Julia?

Auntie Rose: Well, hello, there, and may I help you?

Sam: Yeah. My name's Sam and I --

Auntie Rose: Yes, of course. I know you. It's Sam Cory, isnít it? Yes, you're in our files.

Sam: Yeah, well, I'm back, looking for --

Caroline: He's looking for a really special woman.

Auntie Rose: Oh. I see. Well, let's see -- the last time that you were here, Sam, I believe that you had a date with --

Sam: Oh, that -- that didnít work out.

Caroline: Uh-uh.

Auntie Rose: Oh.

Caroline: No, he's here this time looking for a more specific type of woman.

Auntie Rose: I see. And who are you?

Caroline: I'm Caroline Rogers.

Auntie Rose: Oh. Hello, Caroline.

Caroline: Hello.

Auntie Rose: And are you looking for someone special, too?

Caroline: No, no. I'm here with Sam.

Auntie Rose: I see.

Caroline: Mm-hmm.

Auntie Rose: Yeah, well, Sam, this young woman certainly appears to be very special to me.

[Caroline chuckles]

Auntie Rose: Are you sure you're not looking in the wrong direction?

Sam: Actually, we --

Caroline: Actually, we're ex-lovers and we broke up really well and -- didnít we, darling?

Sam: Yeah, we did. But we're still friends and actually, part of the deal was when we broke up, that we'd help each other look for mates.

Caroline: Hmm.

Auntie Rose: Oh, really? Well, as the song says, "the times, they are a-changin'."

Caroline: Can you help us?

Auntie Rose: Oh, well, of course I can. Well, Sam, what type of young woman are you interested in?

Sam: Actually --

Auntie Rose: Why do I get the feeling you're just a little tiny bit shy, Sam?

Sam: Yeah, actually, I am.

Caroline: Well, women do find that rather charming.

Auntie Rose: Yes, of course they do, but it really would help me if I just had, oh, just a sense of what you're interested in.

Sam: Hmm -- Caroline would you excuse us for a moment?

Caroline: Oh, no problem, but just donít be too shy, ok?

Sam: Ok. I didnít want her to know what kind of woman I'm looking for.

Auntie Rose: Excuse me?

Sam: I understand that you have quite a few top-notch models here -- part of a V.I.P. list?

Auntie Rose: A V.I.P. list?

Sam: Yes. I understand there's an extra fee, and that would be no problem.

Auntie Rose: I'm afraid that I'm simply not following you, Sam.

Sam: A friend of mine came here and was very satisfied. He mentioned a V.I.P. list.

Auntie Rose: I see. And who was this friend?

Sam: His name's Dustin.

Auntie Rose: Oh, Mr. Trent.

Sam: Right.

Auntie Rose: I see. And did he recommend our service?

Sam: He said you couldn't find a better place this side of Chicago.

Auntie Rose: Well, of course, you understand that there's a special fee.

Sam: I understand. May I see the list?

Auntie Rose: Well, normally, a client just looks through a file of pictures -- lovely photographs -- and then when he sees someone he likes, he simply selects her. Of course, I must have the money upfront.

Sam: I understand.

Auntie Rose: Good. I'll get the list for you.

Sam: Ahem.

Caroline: Hmm?

Sam: Bingo. So

Donna: I'm sorry I have to leave, darling, but I've got an appointment. Why donít you just stay here and try to relax?

Marley: I'm sorry I got angry.

Donna: Oh, donít even think of it. Maybe you and Jake could take some time to talk, hmm?

Marley: Maybe.

Donna: Now, you call me if you need anything. I love you very much.

Marley: I love you, too. Thank you, Donna.

Jake: Put them in a bag. Thank you very much. All right? Great.

Donna: Marleyís very upset. I hope you know that.

Jake: She said everything was fine, Donna.

Donna: Well, if you would open your eyes and look at her occasionally, you'd realize that she's saying that because she doesn't want you to worry. If you'd pay a little more attention to her and a little less to Victoria's baby, that might help things.

Jake: Yeah.

Jake: So, how was lunch?

Marley: It was just fine.

Jake: You ok?

Marley: Fine.

Jake: Lunch was fine, you're fine, everything's fine. Come on, Marley, why donít you talk to me?

Marley: I love you, Jake. I'm so scared that -- oh.

Jake: What, honey? That I might leave you? Donít be silly. You're the most important thing in my life.

Marley: I cannot make us a family.

Jake: Will you let that go? Honey, even if we canít have our own children, there are other ways.

Marley: I know, I know.

Jake: Have you thought about it?

Marley: Yeah, but I -- I always had this fantasy that one morning I was going to wake up and I'd be pregnant and I would come back and I'd -- I'd crawl in bed and cuddle up next to you and say, "Jake, I'm pregnant with your baby."

Jake: You have to be realistic, honey.

Marley: I've rehearsed that scene over a thousand times. It's -- it's never going to happen.

Jake: What if there was a way to have some other baby?

Marley: Oh, I'm beginning to think that any child we would have, I would love as long as it was ours.

Jake: And you'd want it?

Marley: Do you want to adopt, Jake?

Sam: Keep looking for Lauren, whatever her name is. I got to find her so I can get back in touch with Amanda.

Caroline: In the V.I.P. file.

Sam: I canít believe this.

Caroline: Hey, be careful. Just take it easy.

Auntie Rose: Well, I can be --

Sam: If she's in the V.I.P. file, then she must be on to this place. She's got to be.

Caroline: Here.

Sam: This is Lauren? You're positive?

Caroline: Absolutely.

Sam: Ok, this woman is going to get me back in touch with Amanda.

Caroline: Would you take -- look, cool it.

Sam: Ok, I'm fine, I'm fine.

Auntie Rose: Well. So, have you found someone?

Sam: Yes, I -- I have.

Auntie Rose: Ah. Oh, yes, one of my very best.

Sam: Yeah. May I see her video?

Auntie Rose: Absolutely.

Sam: Thank you.

Auntie Rose: I'll be right back.

[Door closes]

Caroline: Who are you calling?

Sam: Lauren. She's going to give me the answers that I need.

Amanda: It's just like being in the senior play in high school.

Evan: Yeah, but it's looking good. Here.

Amanda: Yeah, so far. Thanks.

Evan: Now, we get Dustin to think that we are as devious as he is and that we got a secret, too, he might start to believe us.

Amanda: Ok, here it goes. Dustin wants his ex-wife, Julia? Then Julia is who he's going to get.

Evan: You see, Dustinís problem was he was too possessive, too jealous. And he worshipped this woman, and he thought that every man that looked at her wanted her.

Amanda: I'd forgotten how heavy a wig is or how hot. Oh. I'm not sure I like this. What?

Evan: You look just like her. I'd swear that I was staring at Julia.

Julia: Dustin -- oh. Get that thing out of here. Come on, stop it. I look terrible. Dustin, stop it!

Amanda: Do I really look like her?

Evan: I'd swear you were a clone.

Amanda: That's funny. Dustin had the same reaction the first time he saw me in this wig.

Evan: No wonder he wanted to get to know you the minute he saw you.

Amanda: Well, unfortunately, this is the easy part. So he really loved her, huh?

Evan: He worshipped her.

Julia: What is the matter with you? Come on, stop it, please. Dustin, I look terrible. Get away from me. Dustin, come on! Oh, what's with you? Why do you always do this to me? I'm going to take this thing and I'm going to bury it in the backyard one of these times. Come on, Dustin!

Dustin: Julia.

Marley: If we adopt, are we giving up?

Jake: Honey, we are never going to give up.

Marley: It's as if we're losing.

Jake: No. How many couples do you know that thought they'd never have children, and then one day, after they've adopted, they have a little baby of their own?

Marley: It's a start.

Jake: It sure is.

Marley: You've already made up your mind, haven't you?

Jake: About what?

Marley: Adopting. Isnít that what we're talking about?

Jake: Honey, sometimes things happen. It's like faith or something, you know, and --

Marley: No, I do not know. I donít want to adopt, Jake.

Jake: There are other ways.

Marley: What other ways?

Jake: Will you trust me? I'm working on it. I'm working on it.

Evan: That's perfect! I canít believe how perfect that is.

Amanda: Why? Because I look so much like her?

Evan: One thing's for sure -- he's never going to hurt you as long as you're dressed like that.

Amanda: Great. So I'm safe as long as I look like Julia?

Evan: Remember -- he was obsessed with her, which means if you work hard, you've got to become her in his mind.

Amanda: Then maybe he'll let his guard down.

Evan: Right. It may be the only opening we need.

Amanda: Ok, let's get to work. So I've got her look. Now let's get our voice down. Tell me if I'm close, ok?

Evan: All right, I'll try.

Julia: Justin, stop it. This is getting really tiresome. I donít know what's the matter with you. Stop it! Why are you acting like this? What is this? Dustin, give it to me. What is this? Where did you get this? Where did you get this picture? Did you have one your private investigators following me around? Did you? Well, I hope you had your fill. You like pictures so much, maybe that's all you'll have of me from now on! Dustin, stop it. Get away from me. Get away from me!

Sam: Are you absolutely sure? All right, fine. Listen, I'll call back later. Thank you.

Caroline: Ok, what's the news? Sam? You've lost all your color. What did Lauren say?

Sam: That wasn't Lauren. That was her roommate.

Caroline: What did she say?

Sam: She didnít know where Lauren was. Here, keep this number. I'll call her back.

Caroline: Sam, would you please tell me what's going on?

Sam: She hasn't seen Lauren for two days.

Caroline: She's disappeared?

Sam: Yeah, just like Evan, just like Amanda.

Caroline: Yeah.

Sam: What the hell is going on here? Where is my wife?
