Griffin: Hey, what are you doing here? How'd you find this place?

J.R.: I had a P.I. follow you.

Griffin: All right. Listen. You can't be here. Hey, you need to leave. You have no idea what you're risking.

J.R.: Babe?

Griffin: It's not Babe, J.R. Don't. Don't do this, man.

J.R.: Hey, let go of me.

Griffin: Don't do this. Hey --

[Griffin and J.R. fight]

J.R.: I said, let go of me!

Griffin: Uh! Ugh --

J.R.: Uh! Huh!

Griffin: Ohh! No. No, J.R. Don't do that. No.

J.R.: Aah! Uh -- Babe -- uh --

Zach: Everybody out. Let's go. Aagh!

Ryan: Go on, guys. Mess up everything.

[Children shouting]

Marissa: Ha ha ha! Wow! Oh, my God, I guess the kids are all right, huh? It's been so long since I've been to a family barbeque.

Bianca: Well, it won't be the last time, I promise.

Marissa: Ok.

Greenlee: Hey, what's with the boys club?

Kendall: I don't know. I think they're talking about Cambias.

Greenlee: God, after everything they've been through, they're going into business together? Can you believe it?

Kendall: Weirdly, yeah. I can.

Zach: So that's it. You're free of Cambias. How's it feel?

Ryan: Feels pretty damn good.

Jack: I got to tell you, I think this charity foundation is one hell of a good idea.

Ryan: Great. You ready to get started on the legal?

Jack: Just waiting for one of you two to give me the green light.

Zach: Let's do it.

Kendall: How is it we have not talked about this yet?

Bianca: Talked about what?

Kendall: Apparently, you haven't read this. Oh, yeah. Mom went all out, no holds barred.

Bianca: Uh, ok. Well, it's a memoir. I mean, that's what she's supposed to do, right?

Kendall: Yeah. Yeah. That's why Mom bares her whole soul and drags ours along for the ride.

Bianca: Give me that.

Kendall: Here. Read. The woman has no boundaries. Every single thing that her and I have ever gone through together -- all documented.

Bianca: Now come on. I'm sure that she kept some things private, like the important things.

Kendall: Are you kidding me? No. No. That's what sells -- angst and drama. Sells books and movies.

Narrator: Erica Kane -- the legend, the star, the woman.

Sterling: Once this promo goes viral, the whole world will be waiting with baited breath for "Erica Kane: Uncensored."

Erica: Well, what's our next step?

Sterling: We look for a screenwriter. I've already made some calls for some of Hollywood's finest, but before we do, I want to go in, and I want to make sure that we're loaded.

Erica: Tell me what you want me to do.

Sterling: I want more, more of you, more of your history, not the stuff that we see on the entertainment show. I mean the real you, the nitty gritty. I know it's all in your book, but I want to hear it straight from you.

Erica: You mean the most crucial, the most life-changing moments.

Sterling: Bingo. You game?

Erica: I just hope you have time to spare. I've had quite the life so far.

Sterling: You do the talking. I'll do the scribbling. Let's start with your daughter Kendall. You two certainly had a dynamic relationship.

Erica: We still do.

Sterling: Anything that stands out -- 5 minutes, 5 days? It really doesn't matter. When was the point that you crossed that line, that line that you can never uncross?

Erica: Well, Kendall and I cross lines on a daily basis. To pick one would be just about impossible. So I'm lying. Well, he deserved it for not just coming out and asking. The big confrontation -- it's what everyone wants to know more about. How did that feel when Kendall told me she was my daughter? It was excruciating. She was so hurt and so angry and so determined to understand how I could have ever possibly given her up, and to do that, I had to break her heart. I had to tell this beautiful young woman that she was born out of something so vicious and so ugly. The thought of looking at her, telling her the truth, it was the hardest thing I've ever had to do, but it was also the best. Now? Now Kendall is the most incredible, most beautiful gift I ever could've been given. I honestly don't know what I would do without her.

Bianca: So she went into detail about the day you first told her who you really were?

Kendall: Let's just put it this way. The world will not only know the content of our discussion and how I was feeling, but the color of my unfortunately thin necklace, too. I mean, they'll know everything.

Bianca: Ok. Ok, but let's just remember this is just a prerelease, ok? So you just tell Mom how uncomfortable you are, and she'll just go back and edit it. Problem solved.

Kendall: Yeah, right. Mom put that in her book because it's interesting. Drama is always interesting. But it was also very personal and emotional, a day that I'm glad I had but I don't want to relive. Do you think she even thought about that for a second? Why don't you get back to me after you read chapters 12 and 13?

Marissa: Hey, everything ok?

Bianca: I'll let you know in a minute.

Jack: Well, either your mother is off the grid or she just doesn't want to be bothered. Everything is going straight to voice mail.

Kendall: Or she's selling all of our family secrets to the media.

Jack: Or that. Listen. I'll go find her, but not before I file this for the Cambias Foundation.

Ryan: Oh, yeah. About that --

Zach: We're gonna go with a different name.

Kendall: You are?

Zach: Yeah. Cambias is gonna stay in the past for good.

Jack: So what are you planning to call it?

Zach: The Myrtle Fargate Foundation, if that's ok with red.

Kendall: I think it's perfect.

Greenlee: Ditto.

Jack: Absolutely. I'll tell you one thing. Myrtle always had an open heart and an open door for anybody in Pine Valley who needed a friend.

Ryan: Sounds like we got a winner.

Zach: Yeah.

Jack: All right. Well, I'm gonna get out of here. You need me to pick up anything? You ok for wienies?

Kendall: I'm good. No. No. Just go get Mom. Go. Go, go.

Jack: All right. I will.

Kendall: Ok, actually, you two over here. Groceries?

Ryan: Me?

Kendall: Yes.

Greenlee: Got the list, Kendall.

Ryan: Ok. You're driving. I've been drinking.

Kendall: Ok. You guys, ladies, chili from Krystal's, please.

Marissa: Yes. Chili. Yes.

Kendall: Go, go, go. I want to get this party started. All right.

Zach: It doesn't seem like you're in the mood for a party.

Kendall: It's just Mom's book, soon-to-be movie, whatever. It's getting completely out of hand. It's crazy.

Zach: Hey, it's your mother. What do you expect? Let it go for today.

Kendall: Have I told you how happy I am that you're back?

Zach: Could always tell me again.

Kendall: I could.

Zach: Why don't you whisper it to me?

Kendall: Ooh, all righty. It goes like this. I'm so happy he's back. Tell Mom to put that in her movie.

Sterling: Let's move on to your other daughter. Tell me about her.

Erica: Bianca. Well, Bianca, I think she has some of my best qualities -- strength, confidence, perseverance. Bianca has actually opened my eyes on more than one occasion.

Sterling: Any one moment come to mind?

Erica: What kind of a question is that? He read the book. No one has ever challenged me mind and soul the way Bianca has when she forced me to look at her, really look at her. She took off her jewelry, her clothes, and then she just stood there. Can you imagine how vulnerable? But you'd never know it. Bianca's way of coming out to me -- "Can you really see who I am?" And finally, the answer was yes. I saw her for the breathtaking, beautiful, confident, young, gay woman she was. No, not at the moment, I didn't -- I seem to do everything on my own schedule -- but I saw her, really saw her. And although I'm sure I was too stunned at the moment to know it, I was so impressed, and I was so proud.

[As a door slams, J.R. wakes up but Griffin has taken the patient out of the room]

Bianca: Kendall wasn't joking. She talks about everything. See for yourself.

Marissa: No offense to your mom or anything, but I prefer to get my information about you from you, no one else. Besides, there's nothing in that book that could change the way I feel about you.

Bianca: And how is that again?

Marissa: Sort of like this. Like that.

Bianca: Right. That's good. No. All this is just ancient history. The only think I care about right now is our future. And this book. It bothers me, ok? There. I said it. As if things weren't crazy enough already. I mean good crazy, but Marissa and I are just starting out, and we're trying to ease our kids into a whole new life. It's complicated, and then my mom throws this into the mix. I've been dealing with paparazzi since I can remember. Nothing is totally private, but featured in every bookstore, every movie theater across America? Really, Mom?

Zach: Grill is clean.

Kendall: All right. You know, I'm so happy for you and Ryan, that you're actually working together. It's like a clean slate.

Zach: Clean Slater. See what I did? I took what you said, huh?

Kendall: You're very clever. I'm very proud of you. Yep. But really, we are going to find a balance with work and family and friends and us. We'll make time for everything, especially us.

Zach: Clean Slater. See what I did?

Kendall: I see what you did. Yes. You're very clever. Yes. Do you want to -- I don't know. You want to take a shower or something?

Zach: What? I feel dirty. I'll take a shower.

Kendall: Actually, no. We can't. No. There's too many kids up there. We can't do that now. Sorry.

Zach: I'm sorry.

Kendall: For what?

Zach: The whole ultimatum with Pine Valley or bust. That was wrong. I'm sorry.

Kendall: Well, I didn't exactly give you much of a choice.

Zach: But I learned something.

Kendall: Yeah?

Zach: Don't get between a Kane woman and what she wants. Not gonna end well.

Kendall: Well, what if two Kane women want different things?

Zach: Duck.

[Door slams shut]

J.R.: Found your little lab. Your boy Griffin Castillo had a patient there.

David: You've been in a fight, Junior. Nice bluff. You have nothing.

J.R.: Tell me where Babe is. Come on. Do you really want your grandson growing up with two vindictive lesbians?

David: One of those vindictive lesbians happens to be my daughter. This conversation is over. Guard!

J.R.: You're gonna be in hell a lot sooner than you think. I will bury you. I'll bury you!

David: Right. Sure you will, Junior. Go ahead.

J.R.: You'll never see A.J. ever again, never!

David: That'll make two of us, then. Marissa was right to keep you away. She and Bianca are ten times the parent you will ever be.

J.R.: You stop!

David: Let me tell you something, Junior. I may be behind bars right now, but you're the real loser in all this. You know that? And I'm gonna tell you something else, too. You're gonna hear this from me right here and now. You will never, ever, ever see Babe again, all right? Take that to your grave, you worthless scum!

[Gate slams shut]

Zach: Are we still doing that? I would much rather focus on something else.

Kendall: Like what?

Zach: I don't know. Like this?

Kendall: Oh. Oh, oh.

Zach: And like that.

Kendall: Really?

Zach: Mm-hmm. You know what else? This. I almost died. Is that in the book? Probably not. You know what happens when you almost die? There's no white light, no angels coming down to greet you, nothing, just a mouthful of ocean and then darkness until I saw Kendall's face. She's my angel, my saving grace, her and my boys. We're doing good right now. Erica better not screw that up.

Marissa: We are so lucky that our kids are so close.

Bianca: Yeah, it makes this transition a whole lot easier.

Marissa: Mm-hmm.

Bianca: Miranda and Gaby love A.J. It's like a never-ending play-date with them.

Marissa: I know. A.J. feels the same way. All that's missing for him is J.R. Be right back. Ladies room.

Waiter: Whew! Sorry it took so long.

Bianca: Oh, that's ok.

Waiter: May I help you?

J.R.: No. But she can. Where are they? Where's Marissa and my son?

Sterling: All right, time to shift gears.

Erica: To?

Sterling: Men.

Erica: Ah! Well, I hope you brought another notepad.

Sterling: Were there really that many?

Erica: Uh, yes, but only one who lasted.

Sterling: Jackson.

Erica: Yes.

Sterling: What I read, though, it was never smooth sailing between you two, not always. Remember the first time your relationship was tested?

Erica: I'm gonna guess that it's meant to be a joke. Yes, he betrayed me, in public no less. Of course, I remember it very well.

Jack: Never have I seen such a look of astonishment as when I told the truth on that witness stand. You know, to this day, Erica blames me for her losing custody of Bianca. But of course, she does, because in case you haven't heard yet, Erica Kane is always right.

Bianca: Get out of here, J.R.

J.R.: I just want to talk to Marissa. I mean, this whole thing with A.J. is just -- it's gotten out of hand.

Bianca: Because of your actions.

J.R.: He needs his father.

Bianca: A.J. needs to feel safe right now, and that means staying away from you.

J.R.: Who the hell do you think you are?

Bianca: Someone who loves Marissa and A.J. You are not gonna get another chance to take A.J. away.

A.J.: Where is my son?

Bianca: He's safe.

Marissa: And where he belongs.

J.R.: You sure that he's safe? Let me ask you. Who's keeping you safe?

Marissa: My restraining order, for starters. Now leave, or I will have to call the police. Ohh -- I am sorry you had to deal with that.

Bianca: He's getting pretty damn scary.

Marissa: Yeah.

Bianca: But I'm not gonna let him ruin our day.

Marissa: Right.

Bianca: Ok?

Marissa: Good.

Bianca: This is for you.

Marissa: Ok.

Bianca: Let's go. Come on.

Singer: It's just your world leaving you hanging it's just your perfect world keeps changing

Greenlee: Oh!

Ryan: Whoa!

Greenlee: Ever hear of getting a room?

Zach: We got plenty of rooms in the house. Don't worry about it. Thank you for shopping.

Ryan: I'll pay for all of it.

Zach: Good 'cause you can afford it.

Ryan: Expensive.

Zach: Why don't you go and look at the grill? Can you do that?

Greenlee: Stop eating all the food.

Kendall: Uh, no, no. That's ok. You keep yours. I have my copy.

Bianca: Well, I don't think I want a copy, not this version, anyway. She can't just do that, hang our lives out there for all the world to see.

Kendall: Watch her.

Bianca: I think I want Natalie Portman to play me. Who do you want?

Kendall: I don't know. How about Sarah Jessica Parker? Or Rosie O'Donnell. I don't know.

Bianca: Ha ha ha!

Kendall: Barbra Streisand. Sarah Michelle Gellar. Who knows?

Bianca: Sarah Michelle would be good.

Sterling: Story sells, Erica. You got one hell of a story.

Jack: Hey there, beautiful.

Erica: Hi!

Jack: Hi. Looking all over for you.

Erica: Jackson, meet Kit Sterling. We've just been going over plans for my book.

Sterling: Soon to be a motion picture.

Jack: And now, it all falls into place. My pleasure.

Sterling: Pleasure's mine. Heard a lot about you.

Jack: Well, all good, I hope.

Sterling: Most of it.

Jack: Did you forget about our little barbecue thing?

Erica: No. I've got plenty of time. I -- oh, my goodness. I didn't realize that we had been here this long, Kit.

Sterling: It's easy to get caught up in memories, isn't it?

Erica: Yes. And I do have a family obligation I need to get to.

Sterling: I certainly understand. Pleasure to meet you.

Jack: And you.

Sterling: Get used to living with a movie star.

Marissa: A.J., slow down. Not so fast, huh?

Bianca: You guys will be safe from the bugs in here.

Kendall: This is how I always pictured our house to be, busy with family and kids -- just alive. All that's missing is Mom.

Zach: Well, you know she likes to make an entrance.

Kendall: Yeah.

Erica: Hi, everyone!

All: Hi!

Zach: I didn't plan that.

Marissa: Good to see you over here.

Erica: Yeah.

Kendall: You ready?

Bianca: Right now?

Kendall: Yes, right now. Printing press could be rolling as we speak. Come on. Mom, we need to talk.

Erica: Ok. Excuse me. Well, this sounds serious.

Kendall: It is.

Erica: It is?

Jack: I'm gonna go check the condiments.

Bianca: Mom, it's not that serious. We have a couple of concerns, that's all.

Kendall: That's not all. We're pissed. You splashed our private lives all over your book. Did it occur to you that that might bother us? Mom, the things that you wrote are extremely personal.

Erica: And extremely true.

Kendall: Yes, but some moments are meant to stay between our family, not be entertainment while people munch on popcorn.

Erica: You think I've gone too far?

Kendall: Yes. And we're asking you -- no, we are telling you to pull back.

Zach: You ever hit a patch of ice while you're driving? One second, you're in complete control, next you're heading somewhere you don't want to go. Just bracing for impact. And that happens a lot with Kendall and Erica -- not the ice part. That's a metaphor. The impact part. Very real.

Bianca: Wait. If you'd just talked to us about it first, maybe we would feel differently.

Erica: I didn't realize that I needed your permission. This is my story about my life, so I decide what stays and what goes. And as for the movie, I don't intend to change a thing.

Zach: Food's ready. Get it while it's hot.

Kendall: This conversation is not over.

Zach: Hey, Kendall. All the grown-ups follow me.

Kendall: Fine. I'll get the chili.

Erica: I'll be back in a minute.

[Kids giggling]

J.R.: A.J. Hey.

A.J.: You're not supposed to be here.

J.R.: Hey, buddy.

A.J.: I'm supposed to tell Mommy.

J.R.: No. Look, I just wanted to tell you how much I love you and how much that I wish you were with me.

Erica: Get away from him, J.R.

J.R.: You stay out of this. It's none of your business, Erica.

Erica: You're scaring him, J.R.

J.R.: I just want to see my son.

Erica: A.J., why don't you and the kids -- come on, kids -- go to the kitchen, ok? Chili's in the kitchen. Go ahead. Come on. Come on, Ian. Your mommy's in the kitchen. She's got chili. Go ahead. Go with the other kids. Go ahead. Go on, A.J.

J.R.: You don't get to order my son around.

Erica: It's ok, A.J. You can go. Go on with the rest of the kids. Go ahead.

J.R.: A.J., wait.

Erica: Get out of this house, J.R. I said get out of this house now, and I meant it. Oh, don't even think about it, J.R. Don't take me on and my family. Your father always regretted it when he did, and you will regret it, too.

J.R.: What do I got to lose?

Erica: Not much, that's true. Not much left. But trust me, I will go to every media outlet, and I will make sure they destroy every shred of hope you have of saving any of the life you have left. And the judge will not let you near A.J.

J.R.: You know, you don't want to know what happens to people who keep me from my son.

Zach: Hey, time for you to go. Now!

[Door slams]

J.R.: Aah! Babe.

Kendall: So, you gonna put that in your movie, too?

Erica: Well, I just might. I think I handled him very well.

Kendall: News flash, Mother. This is not just your life we're talking about here.

Erica: Kendall, nobody understands that better than I do.

Kendall: Did she really just say that? Did you really, honestly just say that?

Erica: Yeah, I really just said that.

Emma: Are they mad?

Ryan: Uh, they're not mad. They're just --

Greenlee: They're just having a difference of opinion. They're mad. Like furious, watching-them-spit-fire mad.

Ryan: They'll get over it.

Greenlee: They always do.

Ryan: You're enjoying this, aren't you?

Greenlee: Is that wrong?

Ryan: Little bit.

Erica: Look, why don't we all just try to calm down? I am not trying to humiliate you. I'm just trying to be honest.

Bianca: You can still be honest without baring all.

Erica: Look, I give you my word, I am going to tell the story with all the respect it deserves, but I am not going to water it down. So you just have to trust me.

Kendall: Trust you? Mom, are you kidding me?

Zach: May I have your attention, please? Seemed as good a time as any to interrupt.

Kendall: Actually, we're kind of in the middle of something.

Zach: But Ryan wants to make a toast.

Kendall: Oh, yeah!

Ryan: Yes.

Emma: Good luck, Dad.

Ryan: Yes, thank you -- for that. I would like to propose a toast to, um -- to Kendall and Zach and the sense of family that I believe we all feel in this house. To family. Cheers.

Greenlee: To family.

Ryan: Cheers, cheers, cheers.

Emma: How about me?

Ryan: But that's not all. There's something else I want to tell you, that Zach also wants to propose a toast. Yes, he does. Go ahead.

Zach: Ahem. Uh, well, Kendall and the boys and I got a second chance at something, and I intend to use every moment of that, whether it's breakfast in the morning or bathtime at night or all those tense, awkward moments in between, like if somebody's yelling in my house. I'm only kidding. That's what keeps this family going. I don't have a master plan. I don't pretend to have one, but I do know this. It's been a hell of a ride, and it's far from over. So, here's to the Slaters and the Laverys and the Montgomerys --

Jack: There you go.

Zach: And the force of nature that is the Kane women. May we grow stronger and stronger. To a big happy family. Cheers.

All: Cheers!

Emma: Cheers!

Greenlee: Cheers.

A.J.: Cheers.

Erica: Cheers.

Emma: Cheers.

Erica: You're a lucky woman.

Kendall: I am, for a lot of reasons. One of them being that you are my mother, even if you do drive me crazy sometimes.

Erica: Does this mean you'll give me the benefit of the doubt?

Kendall: Yes. Yes, but the minute we feel uncomfortable, I'm coming straight to you.

Erica: And I won't disappoint you.

Bianca: We'll hold you to that.

Ryan: Hey, nice speech.

Zach: You, too.

Ryan: I'm looking forward to working with you, man.

Zach: Who'd have thought, huh? Cheers.

Ryan: Cheers.

Jack: So, I hope I didn't drag you away from anything too important.

Erica: What could possibly be more important than this?

Jack: I don't know. That producer and you seemed pretty intense. What were you so wrapped up about?

Erica: Just our entire lives.

Man's voice: Erica and Jackson, you are now husband and wife. The Kane family and the Montgomery family are now one.

Singer: When it's getting late, and I'm feeling all alone oh, oh you think no one's listening need someone to call it's the middle of the night and you need a friendly face someone who can lift you up and who will say it's gonna be it's gonna be ok --

Kendall's voice: Hey, Spikey, you having fun over there?

Singer: If you ever need someone to make you smile I'll hold your hand and get you through the hardest times I would run or fly I'll travel all night do anything just to be by your side and tell you, well everything's all right oh, oh, it's gonna be it's gonna be all right as long as we're together I know we can do anything as long as we're together we can make it through anything no matter, once you got me I'm never gonna let you fall da da da da da da da da la la la la da da da da, da da as long as we're together I know we can do anything da da da da da as long as we're together we can make it through anything da da da da da --

[Children giggling]

Marissa: Can you dance like this?

A.J.: Whoo whoo whoo whoo!

Marissa: Whoo whoo whoo!
