Ryan: Look, I will --

Greenlee: I'm sorry about --

Ryan: You go first.

Greenlee: Last night was really bad. I mean, was that really us arguing and snapping at each other the way we did?

Ryan: Really, it was my fault. I didn't even give you a chance to --

Greenlee: I have an idea. Let's just forget about everything else and go somewhere. We don't have to say anything. We don't have to do anything. Let's just be together.

Ryan: Where do you want to go?

Greenlee: I don't know. Um, what about the castle?

Ryan: Weather certainly is perfect for it.

[Knock on door]

Scott: I've been trying to reach you. Do you know where Madison is?

Brot: Madison?

Madison: Oh. Hi.

Brot: What are you doing here? Have you been here all night?

Madison: If you have to arrest me, go ahead. I don't care anymore.

Marissa: Hey. You working today?

J.R.: The hospital just called: Some important board meeting that I have to attend.

Marissa: Oh. I thought -- you know what? Never mind.

J.R.: What?

Marissa: You said that maybe we would do something today, but it's totally cool. You have to work, and you should go. I understand.

J.R.: All right. You're disappointed, aren't you?

Bianca: We've already notified the police, so you'll be protected. And I've set up an appointment with the Miranda Center for your counseling. It's gonna be ok.

Woman: Oh, I don't know.

Bianca: It's horrible. I know that. But you can move past the abuse and get on with your life. Trust me.

Woman: Thank you for everything. Thank you.

Ricky's voice: You know everything, don't you, Bianca? I was hoping there wouldn't be any more complications.

Bianca's voice: Aah!

Jack: Erica, look, I know something is upsetting you. Why can't you tell me what it is? Maybe I could help you.

Jane: That is so sweet of you. It's just I'm fine, actually. Only that -- look, I'm very grateful to be alive. And when you've been where I've been, you realize how fragile everything is and that everything could be just taken away from you in a heartbeat, and I'm just never gonna take anything for granted again.

Jack: And neither will I, believe me. Not ever. I promise you that. I love you so much.

Jane: You have no idea how much it means for me to hear you say that.

[Phone rings]

Jane: Hello?

David: Jane.

Jane: Where the hell have you been? I have been calling you all night.

David: I've been getting my beauty sleep. Why? Is something keeping you awake?

Jane: Yeah, you're so funny. Where are you? We need to talk.

David: And I bet you want to know if I told the whole world that you're not really Erica Kane, and you have her buried away somewhere like some hidden treasure. Am I right?

Jane: David? David, are you there? David?!

Bianca: Mom?

Scott: I checked in with Frankie, Randi. They haven't seen her. I called hotels.

Greenlee: What about Fusion? Maybe she went to work.

Scott: No. I already checked. No one heard from her.

Ryan: I think I might know where she is.

Scott: Where? Tell me.

Ryan: Let me just go check myself first, ok, and then I'll let you know. Look, I know we were gonna --

Greenlee: It's ok, Ryan. Go find her.

Scott: Let's go.

Greenlee: Scott? Let him go alone.

Brot: I'm not going to arrest you. But at least let me take you somewhere, get you something to eat -- whatever you want.

Madison: I just want my little girl. I just want Sara.

Brot: I understand.

Madison: She's right over there. Over the hill -- that's where they buried her. That's why I'm here.

Brot: Madison, I'm so sorry. I really am, but you can't stay here.

Madison: Just a little while longer.

Brot: Come on, why don't you let me take you home?

Madison: Brot, please. I'll be ok. I'm not ready to leave yet.

Brot: Ok.

Marissa: I am not disappointed.

J.R.: Ok. My mistake.

Marissa: But you just said you wanted to maybe do something today, and I thought it would be nice.

J.R.: That's progress, isn't it, you wanting to do something with me?

Marissa: Yeah, I guess it is.

J.R.: So we could do something later, if that's something that you'd like?

Marissa: What are you up to?

J.R.: I'm up to nothing.

Marissa: What? No pressure? No plans?

J.R.: No! This is the new and improved J.R. Chandler.

Marissa: That takes some getting used to.

J.R.: You said you wanted to be independent. You said you wanted your own life, not having me make any rules. I'm just trying to respect that.

Marissa: I appreciate that. Go do what you got to do. I got things I have to do, too, so I'll go do them.

J.R.: She was disappointed. And that's a very good thing.

Jane: Bianca, what are you doing with David's phone?

Bianca: I just bumped into him. Why are you yelling at him?

Jane: I wasn't yelling. I was negotiating.

Bianca: Negotiating? Negotiating what?

David: Erica has written me a letter of recommendation to give to the hospital board.

Bianca: Are you kidding me? Mom, why would you ever --

Jane: Sorry. I've got another phone call, ok? I'll talk to you later. Bye.

Bianca: Please stop bothering her.

David: That's not what I was doing.

Bianca: Calling her? Harassing her?

David: Wow. That's a lot to draw from a 30-second conversation. Besides, even if I was being slightly pushy with your mother, I'm pretty sure she could handle herself.

Bianca: Usually, yes -- she could slap you down with one hand while putting lipstick on with the other -- but she was just kidnapped. She's had a rough time, so I'm telling you leave her alone.

David: Your mother has assured me that she's doing just fine, which leads me to believe that perhaps there may be something else that's bothering you?

Bianca: What are you talking about?

David: I'm aware of what happened with Ricky Torres. You and Marissa must've been terrified. Now, I've tried calling her, but, well, you know that story.

Bianca: Yeah.

David: How is she?

Bianca: Marissa's great. She's amazing, actually.

David: Is she talking to anyone? Is she seeking professional help?

Bianca: I don't want to talk to you about Marissa's life.

David: I'm just a father asking about his daughter, right?

Bianca: And I am late for an appointment.

David: Ok, wait. I don't want to keep you, but are you sure you're ready to be helping people at this time after what happened?

Bianca: I've been through worse.

David: I know. I remember.

Bianca: And I -- you were very helpful to me at that time. I'm very grateful to you for that.

David: I'm offering my help again.

Bianca: Why, David? Why? What do you want?

David: No, no agenda. Just a friend helping a friend.

Bianca: You always have an agenda.

David: You're right about that, and I do have some very big plans for this town, but not this time. My offer is genuine.

Bianca: Thanks, but I'm fine. I don't need any help.

Jack: So who was that on the phone?

Jane: It was David.

Jack: Is he still harassing you about that letter?

Jane: I had to give it to him.

Jack: Did you sign it and give it to him?

Jane: If I hadn't, he was gonna tell the police that Kendall was the one who really shot him.

Jack: Erica, are you gonna let Hayward blackmail you forever?

Jane: All he wants is his medical license reinstated. And, really, is it such a big harm if he performs operations again? I really thought that maybe this was just a very small price to pay for keeping his mouth shut.

Jack: Erica, you know this man.

Jane: Yes, of course, I do.

Jack: He's not gonna give up. He's gonna keep coming at you, unless somebody stops him right now.

Jane: Jack, no! Please don't!

J.R.: Bianca. How you doing?

Bianca: I should get cards printed. I'm fine. Thanks for asking. Sorry. I've been getting that a lot lately. I'm good.

J.R.: That's good to hear.

Bianca: And Marissa?

J.R.: She's great. In fact, the two of us are really starting to get to a really great place.

Bianca: Ok.

J.R.: You don't seem so convinced.

Bianca: It's none of my business.

J.R.: I know that you and Marissa have gotten pretty close -- friends. You're protective of her. I get that.

Bianca: I don't doubt that you care about Marissa.

J.R.: I don't care about Marissa. I love her, and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to get her back.

Bianca: See, that's what I'm afraid of, that "whatever it takes" part.

J.R.: Marissa is happy. A.J. loves having his mom back at home. Why can't you see that as a good thing?

Bianca: It's not up to me.

J.R.: Yeah, but Marissa listens to you. She respects you. A little encouragement won't hurt.

Bianca: I told you I'm not gonna push her.

J.R.: Even if you know that's what Marissa ultimately wants: To be a family again?

Bianca: I know that's what you want. I also know that when you get something, you sometimes get bored and you go looking for something else.

J.R.: That's not gonna happen again.

Bianca: Oh, yeah? What's different about it this time?

J.R.: I am. We both are. I screwed up, and I ruined the best thing that ever happened to me. But if I get a second chance, I won't make the same mistake. I want Marissa to be happy. You know what, Bianca? Don't do anything for me. Do it for Marissa.

Bianca: Ok. So what if I do consider this little PR campaign for you? There would have to be a few conditions. You know what? Actually, just one.

J.R.: Name it.

Bianca: If you hurt Marissa again, I will become your living, breathing nightmare.

Jack: Look, I'll go to the state medical board. I'll tell them you signed that letter under duress. I don't have to give them the details.

Jane: No. I cannot take the chance that he'll go after Kendall.

Jack: Erica, if we don't put the end to this right now --

Jane: No, I won't! I signed the letter, and it's done.

Jack: You can't really believe that, not with Hayward.

Jane: You know what, Jack? He's a brilliant doctor. Even you have to admit that. He has saved many, many lives -- Kendall's and Ian's.

Jack: Hayward saves lives at about the same rate he ruins them. Now, maybe you can live with that, but I can't.

Jane: But the thing is maybe if he's allowed to practice medicine again, maybe that'll be enough and maybe he'll stop tormenting people.

Jack: Sure, until he wants something from you again.

Jane: You know what? If that happens, then I'll let you handle it any way you want.

Jack: That's not very like you at all, Erica.

Jane: What do you mean by that?

Jack: Giving up without a fight.

Jane: I'm tired, Jack. I'm just tired of fighting. I'm just tired of the struggle. Don't you understand, Jack? Oh, I just want it to be you and me, Jack. Just you and me and nobody else. Just living life and loving life and -- oh, it's just -- just so hard to think that it could be taken away.

Jack: I know.

Jane: I'm so worried about that.

Jack: I know you are.

Jane: Because it almost was.

Scott: What are we still doing here?

Greenlee: We're waiting.

Scott: Why?

Greenlee: Because Madison doesn't want to see you right now, and chances are she wants to see Ryan.

Scott: And you're ok with that?

Greenlee: Are you kidding me? It's hell. But as long as we're stuck in it, we might as well keep each other company.

Scott: I'm not stuck anywhere.

Greenlee: No? You just want Madison to forgive you right now. It doesn't work that way. Trust me. I know.

Scott: Ohh. So things are still bad with you and Ryan?

Greenlee: We make a little progress, and then it stops or something happens or this. I hate it, so, yeah, I want it fixed and forgotten.

Scott: That sounds more like you.

Greenlee: It is me, Scott. I'm not the type of person to sit around and wait for things to happen. I go after what I want. Give me somebody to fight, and I'll win every time. But this? I mean, how do you fight the connection between a parent and a child, especially when that child -- where do I fit into all that? I honestly don't know the answer, but I'm not giving up.

Ryan: It's peaceful here, huh?

Madison: How'd you know I was here? Brot tell you?

Ryan: No. I just figured you'd want to be close to Sara, that's all.

Madison: They lock the cemetery gates at night. I know everyone must think I'm crazy for being out here like this.

Ryan: I want to be close to her, too. She may not have been with us very long, but I'm never gonna stop missing her, loving her.

Madison: She fought so hard.

Ryan: I know.

Madison: She was so tiny.

Ryan: Sara may not have lived very long, but she inspired me. She inspired me never to give up, no matter what. And I know she'd want that for you, too, to go on living your life.

Madison: I don't know if I can.

Ryan: Madison, you're young, you're smart. You have your whole life ahead of you, ok?

Madison: If you're saying that I could have another child someday --

Ryan: That's not what I'm saying.

Madison: Because I don't know if I can. I can't imagine giving my whole heart and soul and loving someone so completely when I might lose them.

Ryan: Nobody's asking you to do anything other than just take a little better care of yourself, ok? You can't keep sleeping on park benches just because you feel close to Sara.

Madison: Sleep is the only relief I get.

Ryan: It's gonna get better. It's gonna get better, I promise you, but you do have to take care of yourself. That's what Sara would want if she lived. She would want you to have a wonderful life, and you still can. We can honor her life by living our own.

Marissa: Hey. What are you doing here?

David: I just met with the hospital board to see if I can get my old job back.

Marissa: Don't you need a medical license for that?

David: I'm working on it. You do know that I've called you a few times, right?

Marissa: Yeah, I know.

David: Marissa, you and Bianca were terrorized by a psychopath, locked in a hotel closet. Doesn't that at least allow your father a phone conversation?

Marissa: I'm fine, really.

David: That's what Bianca said.

Marissa: You talked to her?

David: Yeah. I did a little while ago, but she didn't seem like she was fine to me.

Marissa: What do you mean?

David: Which is why I'm a little concerned with how you might be dealing with all of this.

Marissa: David, I'm fine. What was the matter with Bianca?

David: She just looked like she was struggling, that's all. Like she was putting up a brave front, but, honestly, it didn't seem like -- Marissa, wait a minute. Where are you going?

J.R.: Don't get too comfortable.

David: It's just a matter of time before I'm back where I belong, Junior.

J.R.: A couple of those board members might've bought that little song and dance of yours, but I sure as hell didn't.

David: Then I guess it's a good thing that you're not handing out medical licenses, too.

J.R.: You might be able to practice medicine again, but it won't be here. Not as long as Greenlee owns this hospital.

David: All you little people. You have no idea what I'm capable of, but in time you will.

Bianca: You don't get to do this to me, Ricky. No, not after everything I've been through. This is my life, my life, and you don't get to mess with it.

Madison: I want to pick up the pieces. I just don't know how.

Ryan: You can start by relying on your friends, like me.

Madison: That's sweet, Ryan. It really is. But you've got a life with Greenlee, and I can't just expect you to drop that every time I need someone to hold my hand.

Ryan: What about Scott?

Madison: I don't want to talk about Scott.

Ryan: I know you're angry at him. He lied to you, and he lied to me, too, about being Sara's dad. But then later on I realized that he is ready to step up and be a father to somebody else's child. He's done it already, Madison. He was there for Emma during that whole mess with Annie. He's a good guy. He is, and he cares about you.

Madison: I know he's been there, and I know every amazing thing he's done, but --

Greenlee: What do you want?

David: I was just wondering why you weren't at the hospital board meeting today.

Greenlee: I've seen the David Hayward show before. Not interested.

David: In case you were wondering, I thought it went very well. But since you are still the owner of the hospital, thanks to me, your input does hold a little more weight.

Greenlee: I'm sure you've heard that the board isn't exactly thrilled with me for protecting Griffin Castillo.

David: I trust they'll get over it. I just want your assurance that once I get my medical license reinstated, that you won't stand in the way of me working there.

Greenlee: Yeah, right.

David: Greenlee, you know the kind of work I can do.

Greenlee: I do.

David: All right, you know what? It doesn't really matter, because I have other supporters.

Greenlee: Really? Like who? Someone you paid off? What's this?

David: It's a letter of recommendation signed by none other than Erica Kane.

Jane: Oh, Jack, this is perfect. This is exactly what I needed.

Jack: Good. I'm glad.

Greenlee: What the hell are you trying to do?

Jane: I don't understand.

Greenlee: This letter. Recommending David? How could you?

Jack: Greenlee, hold on just a second, would you, please?

Greenlee: No. Ever since Erica came back, she has been so nice to me -- full of hugs, cozying up to me like she's my new best friend -- but it was all an act.

Jane: Greenlee, you're right. I'm sorry. I should've let you know.

Greenlee: Why did you even do it in the first place? Do you enjoy watching us all be tortured by David?

Jack: Ok, Greenlee, that's enough, please.

Greenlee: But I want to know.

Jack: Look, Erica's been under a lot of stress lately. She did what she felt she had to do.

Greenlee: You're not the only one with stress around here.

Jane: Look, all I can continue to say, Greenlee, is that I'm sorry. I really never intended to hurt you.

Greenlee: Yeah, right.

Jack: Look, look.

Greenlee: I am trying to make peace with my husband who just lost his child, be a stepmom to Emma who still misses her mother, put out fires at Fusion that I don't have time for, and now I have to work with David thanks to you. It's too much.

Jack: I agree. I know you have a lot on your plate.

Greenlee: It's time to clear something off.

Ryan: I'll leave you guys alone. I'll check in with you later, ok?

Madison: I don't want to talk to you.

Scott: I know.

Madison: Then what do you want?

Scott: I want what I always wanted -- to be with you.

Madison: Not always. It was your job at first, remember?

Scott: Look, being with you was never a job. Yes, I made that deal with Greenlee, but I liked you before she offered me anything. It was wrong, and I admit that. But, Madison, I would've fallen in love with you anyway, and that's the truth. That's the truth, and I can't just walk away. I can't give up on that, not when I know what we had was incredible -- for both of us, I thought. Is that completely gone now? Do you -- do you hate me?

Madison: No. No, I don't hate you.

Scott: Then why don't you just let me put my arms around you and just hold you and take you home? Let me take are of you.

Madison: Because you can't, Scott. I know you've been there. I know you care. I know you want to make it right. But I can't just forget that you lied to me, and I cannot forget what I lost. And not that it's your fault, but every time I look at you, I remember, and it breaks my heart all over again.

Scott: Madison, will you just --

Madison: I have to go.

Ricky's voice: You know everything, don't you, Bianca? I was hoping there wouldn't be any more complications. Oh!

Bianca: Aah! Let me go! Aah! Let me go, Ricky. Let me go, please.

[Elevator doors close]

Bianca: Who's there?

Marissa: Bianca? What happened?

Bianca: I don't know. I don't have any idea why this is happening to me. There's nobody there. Ricky is not hiding underneath the bed. I know that, but then why am I shaking? Why am I so scared, scared of nothing?

Marissa: I'm sorry. Just take it easy.

Bianca: After all this therapy I've had, I should know how to handle this.

Marissa: Listen, I was there, too. We were both scared.

Bianca: Yeah, but look at you, and look at me.

Marissa: Yeah, look at me: I'm sleeping at night with the lights on for the first time since I was 7. I hear a noise in the hallway, and I'm jumping out of my skin, even though it's just A.J. coming in to kiss me good night. When I think about what could've happened to us, I break out in a cold sweat. That's how I'm dealing with this.

Bianca: So what do you do?

Marissa: Last night I had a pint of Rocky Road ice cream. But I should've called my friend Bianca and had her talk me down, which is what you should do. When things get this bad, call me.

Bianca: It's hard for me.

Marissa: What, to need somebody? Bianca, there is nothing wrong with needing somebody.

Madison: I can't stay here anymore.

Randi: Ok. Then you'll stay with us.

Madison: No.

Randi: Frankie and I already talked about it. We'll fix up the couch.

Madison: It just feels like a big step back, like a defeat.

Randi: You're thinking about this way too much. It's temporary.

Madison: Ok, I'll pay rent.

Randi: You don't have to do that.

Madison: No arguments. I have some money. I was saving it for the baby, but --

Randi: Hey.

Madison: I'm all right.

Jack: Sweetheart, why don't you have a seat and join us here, and, tell me, what do you think you can eliminate from that overfull plate of yours?

Greenlee: The hospital.

Jack: That's an interesting choice.

Greenlee: I only took it on because of David. It isn't what I do, it's not my passion, so why am I hanging onto it?

Jane: I think it's a brilliant idea myself, but will you excuse me? I need to visit the powder room.

Jack: Sure. Sweetheart, will you do a favor for me? For me, will you just take it a little easy on her, please?

Greenlee: I know. Erica's been through so much. Haven't we all?

Jack: She's been nice to you lately. You said so yourself.

Greenlee: And you don't find that strange?

Jack: Look, I think she's trying to get her footing back. We just need to be a little patient.

Greenlee: Ha ha. Easier for you than for me.

Jack: Yeah, we've discussed that, haven't we? So back to the hospital.

Greenlee: Right, the hospital. It would keep David out of my life. I don't need any distractions, and David is the biggest one I know.

David: Wow. I got to hand it to you, Jane. If I didn't know better, I would swear that was Erica Kane in there holding court.

Jane: Really?

David: Oh, yeah. You've got the gestures, the expressions down pat. It's an astounding performance.

Jane: I do like to pride myself and pay attention to detail. I think that makes all the difference. What are you trying to do?

David: I thought I was paying you a compliment.

Jane: No, you're not. You're trying to change the subject. You're trying to make a fool out of me, and I really do not appreciate that. You enjoy putting people through hell, don't you?

David: Sometimes, yeah.

Jane: Just tell me. Are you going to expose me or not?

David: I haven't made up my mind.

Jane: I don't want to play your games anymore.

David: Fair enough.

Jane: And I also have no intention of just hanging around with a cloud of fear over me, worried that you're gonna just drop the hammer on me.

David: Spoken like Erica herself.

Jane: Then stop patronizing me. I am smart enough to have gotten this far, so don't think you can just roll over me, because I have survived much worse than you.

David: Ok. You're a pit bull. So what's on your mind?

Jane: I helped you out yesterday, and now I'm ready to offer you more.

Bianca: Marissa --

Marissa: Tell me. What is it?

Bianca: No, I can't do this anymore.

Marissa: You can't do what? Bianca, please tell me what is going on.

Madison: Thank you for helping me pack.

Randi: It was no trouble.

Madison: I don't want everyone to be worrying about me all the time.

Randi: Then don't do things to make us worry.

Madison: I promise I won't sleep in the park anymore.

Randi: Good. So what are you gonna do tomorrow?

Madison: I don't think that far ahead anymore.

Randi: Do you want to come back to work?

Madison: I -- I don't know.

Randi: Fusion could use the help. It wouldn't be a bad thing for you either.

Madison: Yeah. But what if it is? Every move I make now I wonder if it's the right one. I don't want to lose any more. I've lost so much already.

Scott: Can I have another, please?

J.R.: That looks like trouble.

Scott: Go away.

J.R.: What are you doing here, Scott? Shouldn't you be comforting Madison or something? Oh, yeah. That's right. Since you're not playing dad anymore, she gave you the boot.

Ryan: I'm really sorry that we didn't go to the castle today.

Greenlee: It's ok. Wherever you are is where I want to be. I'll stay here all night if you want to.

Ryan: We'll come back here another time. Right now I just want to go home with you.

David: So what exactly do you have planned for me?

Jane: I don't want Jack to see us together. Greenlee wants to sell her hospital. I could help her find a buyer who is much more partial to you than she is.

David: I have an even better idea. What about you?

Jane: Me?

David: Yeah. You could buy the hospital.

Jane: What would I want with a hospital?

David: There's nothing you have to worry about. Your silent partner will be in complete control.

Jane: And in return from my silent partner I would get --

David: My silence for my hospital.

Jane: Deal.
