The writers finally confirm that Chloe's cousin is Lois Lane.

In the comics, Brainwave (Molly's computer handle) is a longtime villain and opponent of the Justice Society – he can control minds, generate illusions, and fire brain blasts. His son is a hero (and as of 1/04 a sort-of villain).

Jim Thorburn played Max Taylor in the Smallville Verizon commercial and reprises his role here.

John Glover doesn't appear in this episode.

A picture of the Smallville High mascot wearing a Superman-like costume (see "Drone") can be seen for a short moment when Chloe's computers are returned and turned on.

The Kents' red trunk has been wrecked again.

Martha's e-mail address is "CNH320" was the license plate number of the General Lee, the car driven by Bo and Luke on The Dukes of Hazzard.

Adam walks through the halls of Smallville High and says the classic line "It's a bird..." shouted by crowds seeing Superman in the sky.

So Clark has a laptop computer? Maybe the Kents might have a little more money for the farm if they didn't buy him laptops and cell phones and such. It must also be a recent purchase, since he had to borrow one in "Rosetta" and he was getting by fine with that - why would his parents buy him a laptop?

As in several previous episodes, the kryptonite that Jonathan has on him doesn't seem to bother Clark until after he takes it out of his pocket, which doesn't make much sense unless he has lead-lined pockets.

When Lex first meets Molly she has a diamond wedding (?) ring on her left hand. In subsequent scenes the ring is gone.

When Clark gets up from having the bales of hay dropped on him, he tosses one of them about 20 to 25 feet away. A small bale of hay weighs a little bit over 60 lbs. Chloe sees this but doesn't seem at all curious.

Sine when do the Kents have a computer? There's been a couple of stories that relied on them not having a compute. But if they don't, how'd they get the hypno e-mail. And...didn't Clark tell them a single thing about the whole kill-Chloe scheme?'s kinda convenient that they both were reading their e-mail at the same time - we see the e-mail only hypnotizes someone once, in a couple of seconds, and then deletes itself. Most couples I know don't sit down and go through their junk mail together.

If there has been an available apartment over the Talon this entire time, why did Lana move in with Chloe? Why not just move there?

Adam's explanation about IP addresses is accurate, but the way they're handled in this episode isn't. IP addresses are assigned by where and/or how the computer is connected to the internet, not by the computer itself (and certainly not just by its hard drive). Adam's IP search could find the physical location of the computer and possibly who was using it but wouldn't have identified the computer itself.

Why would Jonathan Kent be carrying kryptonite anyway? When the people get hypnotized, they seem to be pretty spontaneous, using whatever is on hand. It seems a bit strange that Jonathan would be anticipating that Clark would somehow know that Chloe was being attacked and would show up for the rescue.

Despite the fact that Chloe was being choked by a chain, she show no injuries on her neck. Also, after their fight, with all the face-punching and slugs to the jaw and all, Lana and Chloe's faces look perfectly fine for the rest of the episode.

When Molly removes the hard drive from Chloe's computer, the screen near the computer goes blank. But in the shot before then, we can see that the computer isn't connected to anything.

Lana attacked Chloe with an axe and her punishment was just suspension? This was an assault with a deadly weapon on school grounds which is a criminal offence. With high school's zero tolerance policies, Lana would not only had been expelled from school, she would had also been arrested.

If Molly's so smart, wouldn't it have been smarter for her to write a self-erasing e-mail, rather then one that just sits on the recipient's disk drive and says it can't be unlocked?

Why is Adam just wandering the halls of Smallville High? He's not a student and they've got lots of security as we've been told about before.

How did Clark get to Metropolis to talk to Lex (and later when he goes back to Smallville and then back to talk to Garner in Metropolis)? He couldn't take the truck, because it got wrecked (again). Doesn't any character on the show wonder about this stuff?

After Chloe had her computers taken by the investigator, and after McNulty got into her files, would she really leave anything like her private e-mail list on a LexCorp computer?

It's not entirely clear why Clark can be mind-controlled here. However, two things: 1) Clark has been resistant to mental mind control and telepathy in the past, but there's no indication that he's resistant to normal non-"superpowered" hypnosis, and 2) this is the first time Clark has been mind-controlled since the ship with its telepathic powers has been destroyed - it's possible it provided him with mind-control resistance rather then it being an inherent ability or a facet of his powers.
