DVD Reviews
This is a really great drama. It reminds me a little bit
of the show "Damages". Both shows have intricately-woven
plots and lots of different types of people and
personalities, most of them with their own agenda. I think
Boss is slightly better in that the plots are a little
easier to follow. "Damages" sometimes gives me a headache,
trying to follow everything. However, Boss is more male- and
sex-oriented.
All of the actors are outstanding, but Kelsey Grammar is
especially fabulous as the mayor of Chicago. The writing is
really good, and he shines in it. You will not recognize him
as "Frasier" at all in this. The show seems very
Shakespearean in many ways. You really won't be sorry you
watched, especially if you love great drama. This is one of
the best.
The DVD doesn't have a lot of extras. It just has the
usual audio commentary, and one behind-the-scenes featurette
about the show. I would love to have seen more!
