Primetime Show Reviews
Lives of Chloe King"
review by Suzanne
Airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on ABC Family
So far I have really been enjoying this show. It's a "family
show", so it is somewhat geared towards teens, but it's not all stupid or girly
of so teen-oriented that you want to puke. It is fantasy/supernatural, so that
makes it more interesting to me than most other shows on that channel. I loved
Kyle XY, but so far, this seems better than that show.
Chloe is a normal 16 year old, who wants to have her first real
kiss, and a more exciting life. Then she finds out that she is really "the
chosen one" of an ancient race called the Mai, and she has all these cool
powers. Also, some other people are trying to kill her.
It has elements of Nikita, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and other
fun shows, but it is not stealing from them so much as using the ideas to create
a new world. The show is also based on some books, which I have not read. It has
cute teenage girls, and a lot of hunky guys of various ages, and suspense.
If you only like top-notch shows, this is not it (don't go
looking for it to be as good as Buffy the Vampire Slayer). It's good, though,
for a nice summer diversion. It's fun, and has some angst and drama, and lots of
action. It's very well done, for what it is. I plan to keep watching!

with the show's star, Skyler Samuels.
