I wasn't sure if I would like this series because it sounded
lame, like kind of a copy of "$h*! My Dad Says" on CBS. I like George Segal, but
I have seen him in some movies and TV shows that were not up to his quality.
However, I have to say I was not disappointed when I watched the show.
The show is about a stressed-out executive who goes to visit his parents in
Florida. He decides to quit his job and stay.
The first half was just setting up the series - who the characters are and why
they're there. This part, admittedly, could have been a lot funnier. However,
about halfway through, it got HILARIOUS. I laughed all through the second half
and was very happy to have seen it. It was way funnier than "Hot in Cleveland"
(and that show has improved since last year).
Give it a try, especially if you miss the old sitcoms. It's not bad, and you
might like it. It has a nice mixed cast of people of different ages, which seems
to be a rarity nowadays on TV.
