Jack, Jack, Jack. Your world is falling apart, and you know what? You deserve it! You don't love Tess. You want to control her. You think of yourself as her knight in shining armor--the guy who rescued her from a world of backwardness and loneliness--but the problem is that you want to keep her innocent and naive. Well, you can't have it both ways. I have defended you in the past, but no more. You treat your wife like a child. You order her around and expect her to not even question your motives. When she does question them, you don't give her a reasonable explanation, and you talk down to her. Why do you think she sneaks off and does things you specifically told her not to do? Nobody likes to be controlled and ordered around. You've essentially told Tess that her feelings, opinions, and beliefs don't count for anything. Nice, Jack. I think we need to hook you up with Warren Meers from Sunnydale, California. Oh, wait. He's dead. While that's a good thing for the rest of the world, he really could have helped you. He could have built you a Tess-bot. She would have looked like Tess (or Livvie--your choice) and she never would have talked back to you or disobeyed you in any way. She would have been there for all your romantic encounters on the couch (And what is it with the couch anyway? Do you ever sleep in bed?) and never felt the need to sneak off and go to another man. How nice that would have been for you. Without a Tess-bot or a Livvie-bot, that's just not going to happen.
