THE SOAPBOX
....by

Week Ending Friday, Mar. 10, 2006
On the box for this week…”The Dangerously Wacko” Beth
Raines Spaulding is with child!( Honestly I could write a whole
article on that subject alone) Kissing Cousins take the next step,
Sandy prepares for his exit.. yipppeee. Blake is writing another
novel, Josh and Reva are headed for reconciliation. And Alan Michael
has a loaded weapon.
So, the past 3 months have been hell for anyone who has gotten a
little tired of Harley. Every other scene on the show has featured
Harley and her “grieving”. All this is really Beth’s fault, which we
have just learned, and for the past few weeks she has displayed some
very inexcusable behavior. This was not a Beth we were familiar with.
This was beyond Lorelei, she was plum bonkers, what with the jabbing
table legs into the wounds of her husband/father-in-law and
Son/brother-in-law. Licking Alan’s face while constantly in the
squatted position which I suppose was to suggest that she was somehow
sexy while being a complete loon. I thought to myself and to you the
readers, how do we pull Beth out of this corner the writers have wrote
her into, how do we redeem this now unredeemable icon of daytime
television….I’ll tell you how we do it, we do what women have been
doing for centuries. Blame it on the hormones! Yes folks Alan has
still got it! Beth is pregnant. And unless you read the spoilers you
were as shocked as me. I certainly never even considered that GL would
go that route. I gotta admit, as twisted as it sounds I am really
digging this turn of events. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
This would be an awesome opportunity for Philip to return and find out
that the love of his life is pregnant with his father’s baby. The same
father that tried to kill him. Now that is good TV.
Obviously a huge and risky event took place this week as well, Tammy
and Jonathan consummated their “relationship”. I didn’t think that we
the viewers were really ready for this to happen. I know it was
inevitable, I know it happened before, under different pretenses, so
it wasn’t a huge leap. Still it was a little hard to watch. Sexy? It
was. Exciting? For sure. Risqué? A little. Cousins? Last time I
checked. Don’t get me wrong, I am a Tammathan fan for life, but hey I
am also a mom and a human so of course I felt a little uneasy
witnessing these two go at it. That being said, I am curious to know
how this will all turn out. It seems like Jonathan may have “taken
care” of Sandy. I sure hope he didn’t kill the poor guy, cause I can’t
endure another trial. Not now and maybe not ever. I want Sandy gone
like yesterday, but there has to be a better way to get this guy outta
town. Funny stuff when Dinah and Blake discuss Blake’s idea for a new
novel starring Dinah-mite. When Dinah starts toying with names for her
character I was in stitches. There’s always good comic relief when
Blake writes a book. I didn’t think it was possible to top the Marley
and Hammer saga, but this has potential!
I knew that Josh and Reva weren’t ready to let their love go just yet.
Of course it takes an accident and Reva nearly dying (again) for Josh
to come around. All this talk about destiny obviously means these two
are realizing that they belong together (again). I wish we could just
call it what it was Reva was menopause-ing her butt off (blame it on
the hormones girl!)and so Josh had a little midlife crisis, It just
makes sense for these two to stay together. Of course you know this
means there will be more drama. It is Josh and Reva’s “destiny” to
contimplate their lives together every couple of months. And with
Billy promising that he won’t give up on Reva rest assured their won’t
be a dull moment at the Lewis home anytime soon.
Finally, Alan-Michael shared his recording of Harley admitting to
Cassie that she slept with Mallet and that she does indeed have
feelings for the man. I am on pins and needles waiting for this
ammunition to explode in Dinah’s face. I’m pretty sure we don’t have
to worry about Dinah going off the deep end, but I do expect some
major fire works once the Spaulding hits the fan. With Alan and Gus’s
inevitable return we are in for some serious drama. Will Marina stand
by her man? Will Dinah fight for her position as CEO? Will Gus go
ballistic when he finds out that his wife is a selfish, no good, lying
hussie? OK I went a little far on that one. I know I will be glued to
the TV. How about you? This is Natali the Stayhomegoddess getting of
the Soapbox….for now!
