G.H. Commentary by Rachel

When Cheating is not Cheating

If you have not heard the news, then please allow me to be the one to enlighten you. Apparently, having sex with someone other than your husband is not cheating as long as that person is your ex. According to Carly, having sex with Sonny was not cheating since they have been married and are “familiar” with each other. Is there anyone who can help me understand her logic?

Since Carly’s inception, her perception has been twisted and self-serving. Therefore, I did not expect her to be any different when she found out about the Jax and Kate kiss. In typical Carly fashion, she went ballistic. Apparently, a kiss weighs more than a quick “encounter” in the back of a limo. Maybe she should tell Jax about it and let him decide what is worse. Can I cast my vote?

There are both infidelities to some degree, yet the kiss does not compare to the limo ride from hell. Jax and Kate shared a moment, which they regretted and never spoke of or discussed again. It was as if it never happened, until Carly found out. On the other side of the spectrum, Carly and Sonny had sex and cannot stop talking about it, to each other (and Jason). They also use their encounter to threaten each other with the possibility of exposure, just for plain spite.

If you are a regular viewer, then you know Alexis’ warning to Jax and Kate is a self-fulfilling prophecy. In the endless yet never boring Carly and Sonny saga, they are one step closer to reuniting. Isn’t that how it works? They love each other, then hate each other, then try to wreck each other’s life by using the kids, then they soften up to each other, then they decide that they can’t live without each other, hence getting remarried in a private ceremony. Am I the only one who sees this coming?

The people I feel sorry for are Jax and Kate. Although I have never discussed my hatred for Jax yet it’s there, but I will go on the record to say that he does not deserve this. He does not deserve Carly and her warped perception on how everything she does is fine while everything that is “done” to her is not.  The person I feel the most for is Kate. She will have to face Carly’s irrational wrath. She has given Carly the excuse she has needed to go after her full throttle. Now that I think about it, is this really about Jax or is it about Sonny? After all, Sonny does plan to marry Kate, and we all know how Carly feels when another woman is coming first in Sonny’s life.
