Miracles and
Redemption
After learning that Jason was the
father of Elizabeth’s son Jake, Sam began her reign of terror. First, she
began to stalk Elizabeth (and Jake), while plotting to get her hands on the
baby. Secondly, she watched as a grief-stricken woman kidnapped Jake from
his carriage and did nothing. Thirdly, she hired two goons to scare
Elizabeth and her kids away from Jason. If this was not enough, she decided
to seduce Elizabeth’s husband Lucky, purely to destroy Elizabeth’s family.
Now with the truth out about Jake,
and all of Sam’s dirty deeds have been brought to light, it would appear
that Sam is boxed into a corner. The only people who want anything to do
with her are her family. She had Lucky, but he too couldn’t believe how she
used innocent children as props for her revenge on Elizabeth and Jason.
Once her misdeeds become public knowledge, she definitely will be the town
Piranha, and knowing Carly, Sam will have her also nipping at her heels.
With everyone hating her and with no chance that Sam will be leaving PC any
time soon, what will they (TPTB) do?
Can Sam be redeemed in the viewers’
eyes? Can we forget how she didn’t come forward regarding Jake’s kidnapping
or how she intentionally had Liz and the boys threatened in the park? If we
can forget, what would cause that selective memory? Would Sam having a
“miracle” baby do it?
There are rumors out there in
internet land that Sam will be pregnant shortly. With this possibility out
there, is it possible that this will help with the redemption of Sam? And
for those not able to have selective memory, would it be feasible that those
viewers will soften up to her as a mother, even having the memories of her
actions towards Jake and Cameron?
As an avid viewer, I can safely say
“no” to the questions above. Maybe it’s my Liz and Jason bias or the fact
that Sam used innocent children as pawns and had no remorse until she was
caught or the fact that she uses excuses to justify her actions. Also, she
seems to never learn from her past mistakes. While in the hospital,
battered and bruised by the hit and run, she hobbled to the nurses’ station
to harass Liz and openly threaten her, while professing to Lucky that she
has changed days earlier. There can be no redemption for a two-faced
jealous shrew, who can’t get past the fact that her actions led to the
predicament she’s in. If she can’t comprehend that, then there’s no hope for
her; and from the looks of it, that’s never going to happen.
