Performer
Of The Week
Every Wednesday, I am going to make my pick for the
performer of the week. My pick for last weeks best performance has to be by
Laura Wright in the role of Carly Corinthos. There were two scenes that
stuck out for me that made me choose Laura as performer of the week. The
first scene was when she had to call Sonny and tell him that she was not
going to be able to come home for Christmas. The way she got choked up when
she told him to tell the boys she was sorry, made me want to cry because
Laura really got you to feel the pain that Carly was feeling at the time.
The second scene that also got me to feel for Carly was when she was talking
to Dr. Winters about how she felt that Emily could possibly replace her in
the lives of her children. It is unusual to see Carly so defeated and
although I am glad to see her vulnerable side again, I can’t wait to see the
old Carly come back. Laura showed how complex the character Carly is and
makes you understand her more. I love the scenes that Laura is giving as
Carly and her performance last week shows that she is up to the challenge of
playing such a deep and complex character like Carly.
Today’s
Episode
Jax sure looks suspicious, the fact that he came in the
back of Metro Court (so he wouldn’t be seen), makes it seem like he ran
Dr. Meadow’s over with his car. I felt sad for Kristina when she ran off,
after Alexis still did not let her go to Michael’s party. I loved seeing
Carly and Robin going at it; it was great to see the fire back in Carly. I
am glad that I taped today’s episode because there were many scenes of Sonny
and Emily and so I fast forwarded through all of them. I am glad that
Elizabeth told Lulu what I have known for some time that after awhile the
pity routine gets old. I think it was great that both Patrick and Carly told
Robin the same thing, which was that their opinion of her and the way they
treat her has nothing to do with the fact that she has HIV but because she
is a jerk, I wonder if she got the message. I loved how Carly hid when she
heard Sonny and Emily coming and I wonder how Sonny will react when Michael
says that he saw his mom yesterday when she snuck into his room.
