Love Is
In The Air
Through all the train wrecks, surrogacy issues and
people actually losing their mind, love can still be seen in Port Charles. I
love to watch scenes with Jesse and Maxie and also Elizabeth and Lucky. Love
doesn’t always last very long on a soap opera but while the characters have
it in their lives, they enjoy it for as long as they can. As a fan of any
soap opera couple, you try not to get too attached because soap opera
history has shown us that as soon as the couple is really happy, something
or someone will come along and destroy their happiness. Trying not to get
attached is easier said then done because the writers have a gift of making
you believe that the impossible is possible. As a fan, I have convinced
myself over and over again that this time the couple will really make it and
I believe it until all hope is taken from me.
I have seen Jesse and Maxie as a couple ever since he
snuck into her hospital room and needed her help. Anyone could see that the
writers were going to put them together because Jesse was a cop and you knew
that Maxie’s dad was probably not going to want his daughter dating him,
which is the recipe for an instant couple. Although at times I did find them
a bit annoying, they have grown on me and have made me interested in wanting
to see how their relationship progresses.
On the other hand, I have always loved Elizabeth and
Lucky as a couple and was so happy to see them get married. Unlike some
couples on the show, Elizabeth and Lucky are more relatable, in that the
writers have decided to give them some real-life problems (like money
issues), instead of just making up some excuse as to how they could afford a
fancy home on their apparent small paychecks. As a couple that have
encountered some problems that could have broken them, like the fallout from
the surrogacy and then the train crash but they have not let any of those
recent troubles keep them apart. Elizabeth and Lucky as a couple help to
balance all the crazy antics that happen on General Hospital. I can see
Elizabeth and Lucky as been a stable and long-term couple on the show
because I am always interested in their scenes. However, as just an observer
who has no control as to what happens on the show, I will have to just roll
with whatever the writers throw my way in terms of any future storylines.
Today’s
Episode
Oh my gosh…..Lulu was so annoying today, especially
when she accused Lucky of also not caring about her, in addition to her
father. Please Lulu stop with the victim routine, I know it must be terrible
to feel abandoned, but you are a Spencer after all and so why don’t you do
something about it instead of complaining. I can’t believe that Sonny had no
clue that Emily was into him, he would have to be blind not to see all of
the signals she is giving him. If we just look at today’s episode there are
a couple of signs, she touched his hand to comfort him when they were
sitting on the couch and then she smiled at him with that lovey-dovey look
in her eyes. I’m glad that Carly told Sonny about how Emily feels about him
and I enjoyed the little warning about falling for Sonny that Carly gave
Emily. Emily is in denial if she thinks she has no feelings about Sonny and
I again cringe at the thought of them as a couple. I hope that Courtney and
Nikolas find out that the father of the baby is not Jax but actually
Nikolas. I think that Jax is too obsessed about the baby and he seems to
have some sort of stalking thing going in regards to the women who have been
or are pregnant with his child, first there was Elizabeth and now it’s
Courtney. I loved when Sonny, Carly, Sam and Emily came into see Jason and
brought the Christmas stuff, it was so cute and made me want Christmas to
come even sooner. Can’t wait to see what Christmas will bring the residents
of Port Charles, it should be an interesting holiday.
