B&B Opinion Article

Another Week - Another Man
By Sue

Well, Brooke’s at it again.  She’s now decided that Ridge is the man for her – once again.  She also told him that he’s the man for her and she knows he feels the same.  She has a bad habit of announcing to her next victim love that she KNOWS they love and want her.  Honestly, I feel they are portraying Brooke as such a weak woman.  She absolutely, positively has to have a man in her life.  Her Scarlet O’Hara speech last week about “I’ll never be a victim again” was too much.  Brooke’s only storyline on the show is to get with a man.  Enough already!

Also, while I’m on a rant about Brooke, what gives her the right to tell people that she was raped, yet then tell them not to tell their significant others?  I know it’s a traumatic event – but to forbid someone to tell his wife is just not right.  They’re not going to graffiti it on a wall or something.  She told that to both Ridge and Nick to which they both replied “uh…okay”.   Another way to keep these guys tied to her.

Here’s my guess for Ridge and Brooke.  If Ridge proposes to Brooke, then Taylor and Nick’s baby will positively be from Brooke’s egg.  That way there will be a Brooke/Ridge/Nick triangle again.  Please writers of B&B don’t do it again.  Why not let Brooke be single and love it for a change.  How about giving the viewers a break from her scheming to get a man regardless if he’s with someone else?  How about even for just a week?

Eric and Donna.  Yikes!  I realize that the show likes to keep the cast small – but all this family mate swapping?  I say Yikes again.  This is the exact reason B&B needs to add a few more characters to their show who are not members of any existing families.  Anyway, Donna just gave back to Thorne the engagement ring from last week's failed-marriage attempt.  A funny thing happened on the way to pick up her purse after that ring return.  She managed to skinny dip in the pool with Eric looking on.  To end the pool session, they shared some kisses.  Wow!  If Eric was feeling lonely, why didn’t he just give Jackie a call.  If he’s going to cheat, why not with Jackie, who is much better suited for him and didn’t just end an engagement to his son.  In keeping with the “never stray to far from the family tree,” he could’ve even called his wife’s sister.  She’s in love with him, and she cooks.  Eric – Eric – Eric – RUN!!

Nick and Taylor are my favorite couple.  Of course I’m sure Nick’s going to screw it up again by getting involved with Brooke.  That man never learns.  He’ll try to keep this egg switch a secret and I have a feeling it’s going to backfire.

Ashley – RUN.  Run far away.  Do not run to Rick either.  Just get your perfume samples and flee, sister.  And pick up Eric on the way out.
