All My Children News and Scoops Page

News and Information! Scoops/Spoilers Below

AMC last aired on ABC on Friday, September 23, 2011.

The rights to AMC & OLTL, which currently belong to Prospect Park, will revert back to ABC soon, which means that more characters from both shows could appear on GH or "a more formal resurrection" of the soaps. Walt Willey (ex-Jack, AMC) thinks the fans deserve something more like a miniseries to wrap things up.

Lindsay Price (ex-An-Li Chen Bodine; ex-Michael, B&B) and Australian chef Curtis Stone are engaged to be married. They had a baby boy named Hudson on November 6, 2011.

The Daytime Entertainment Creative Arts Emmy Awards to honor those behind the scenes was held at the Westin Bonaventure on Sunday, June 17, 2012. GH was the most winning soap, taking home statues for Casting, Costume Design, Song, and Technical Direction; Days won for Makeup and Stunt Coordination; B&B won Art Direction/Set Direction and tied Y&R for Hairstyling; AMC was the winner in Editing and tied Y&R for Sound Mixing; OLTL won Lighting; and Y&R took home Score.

Jordi Vilasuso (ex-Griffin, AMC; ex-Tony, GL) is engaged to be married to Kaitlyn Riley, 25, who is expecting their first child.

The 33rd Annual Young Artist Awards were given out on Sunday, May 6, 2012. Robbie Tucker (Fen, Y&R) tied Tate Berney (ex-AJ, AMC) for Best Performance in a Daytime TV Series in the 12 and Under category, while Andrew Trischitta (ex-Jack, OLTL) and Austin Williams (ex-Shane, OLTL) tied in the category's older group. Haley Pullos (Molly, GH) took home two awards: Best Guest Starring Young Actress 11-13 category for her appearance on "House" and Best Performance in a Daytime TV Series. Danielle Parker (ex-Emma, AMC) won for the same title in the 10 and Under category. Emily Alyn Lind (ex-Emma, AMC) won the Best Performance in a TV Series by a Recurring Young Actress 10 and Under for her role on "Revenge," while Erin Sanders (ex-Eden, Y&R) was named in the Recurring Actress 17-21 category for her part on Nickelodeon's "Big Time Rush."

Citing "irreconcilable differences," Lindsay Hartley (ex-Cara, AMC; ex-Arianna, Days; ex-Theresa, Passions) has filed for divorce from husband Justin Hartley (ex-Fox, Passions). They met while starring on Passions, wed in 2004 and have a daughter, Isabella, 7. Lindsay is seeking joint physical and legal custody.

J.R. Martinez (ex-Brot) and Diana Gonzalez-Jones are proud parents of Lauryn Anabelle Martinez born on Wednesday, May 2, 2012. She weighed in at 7 lbs., 13 oz. and is 21 inches long.

Sarah Michelle Gellar (ex-Kendall, AMC) and husband Freddie Prinze Jr. are expecting their second child. The couple, who will celebrate 10 years of marriage this September, have a daughter, Charlotte, 2 1/2.

On January 19, 2012, the nominees for the 43rd NAACP Image Awards were announced, celebrating the accomplishments of people of color in the fields of film, television, music and literature and honors individuals or groups who promote social justice through creative endeavors. The nominees in the daytime categories were: Outstanding Actor in a Daytime Drama Series: Bryton James (Devon, Y&R), Emerson Brooks (Erica's captor, Ben, AMC), & James Reynolds (Abe, Days), and B&B's Aaron D. Spears (Justin, B&B), and Texas Battle (Marcus). Outstanding Actress in a Daytime Drama Series: Y&R's Christel Khalil (Lily), Julia Pace Mitchell (Sofia), Tatyana Ali (Roxanne), Tonya Lee Williams (Olivia), & B&B's Yvette Freeman (Dr. Lewis). The winners were announced during a live telecast on NBC on Friday, February 17: Emerson Brooks (Erica's captor, Ben, AMC) and Tatyana Ali (Roxanne, Y&R).

Cameron Mathison (ex-Ryan) purchased a $1.672 million Spanish Colonial Revival home at the foot of the San Gabriel Mountains with his wife, Vanessa, in February 2012. Built in 1928, the 3,700 square-foot home sits on just under half an acre of land and includes four bedrooms, five bathrooms, a swimming pool, a rose garden with fountain, a decorative staircase, wood-beamed ceilings, vintage tile, ironwork, wooden details, and arched doorways. The family also includes son, Lucas, 8, and daughter Leila, 5.

Susan Lucci (Erica) is included in the lyrics to Gloria Estefan's new single, "Hotel Nacional," and appears in the music video.

Chrishell Stause (ex-Amanda) shared what was in the original ending vignette she filmed for the last episode of AMC: "Amanda & Jake walk into Oak Haven with Trevor and their new adorable boy they adopted, where Janet greets them. You see them hug & visit. Each family was gonna have their own sweet vignette with music playing over. Makes me sad only a few were filmed and none will be seen."

Brian Frons left his post as president, Daytime, Disney/ABC Television Group, when his contract expired in January 2012. He had joined ABC Daytime in 2002.

Unable to resolve their "mounting issues," Prospect Park has decided not to go forward with the relaunch of AMC online at this time.

AFTRA, the union that represents actors on AMC and OLTL, states that it "was deeply disappointed to read that the executives at Prospect Park have decided to suspend their efforts to produce the long-running and popular daytime serials, 'One Life to Live' and 'All My Children,' via online distribution. Despite initial progress in our negotiations with Prospect Park toward resolving a fair agreement to cover the performers appearing on these programs, we were perplexed and disappointed that for the past month Prospect Park has not responded to our repeated inquiries to resume those discussions. We now conclude from the press reports that Prospect Park faced other challenges unrelated to our negotiations, which prevented continuation of those discussions. We remain hopeful that an opportunity to revive these two popular series will emerge in the future, and remain ready to resume discussions should that opportunity arise."

J.R. Martinez (Brot) won the prized mirror-ball trophy on ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" Season 13 with his partner Karina Smirnoff on November 22, 2011. J.R.'s heroism as a severely-wounded soldier in Iraq landed him on the cover of People magazine's 11/7/11 issue. People also named him one of 2011's sexiest men alive. At 28, he is planning on writing a book about his experiences.

Former ALL MY CHILDREN Star Kim Delaney Escorted Off Stage After Disoriented Speech

After almost 30 years on AMC, Michael E. Knight (Tad) says good-bye to his soap star life in an article here! Also, read a revealing interview by Michael Fairman, in which MEK reveals his contract negotiations status.

Y&R has hired All My Children's Daytime Emmy-winning casting director Judy Blye Wilson. She had hoped to continue on with AMC but never heard an offer from Prospect Park.

Mary Fickett (ex-Ruth Parker Brent Martin) died on September 8, 2011 at her home in Callao, Northumberland County, Virginia. She was 83. She appeared in the first episode of the show in 1970 and made her last appearance in 2000. ABC plans to dedicate the September 21 episode of AMC to her.

In her new memoir "All My Life" out September 13, Susan Lucci (Erica, AMC) includes an emotional chapter on the subject of AMC's cancellation. Written before Prospect Park announced its plans to continue AMC on the Internet, Lucci reveals how she found out that Brian Frons was poised to make the announcement and vents her anger and frustration with what she views as a series of bad decisions made by Frons that squandered the daytime institution she'd called home since 1970. "There's little doubt in my mind that this plan must have been in place for some time," she writes. "One big question that keeps me up at nights is, "Did Brian Frons have this on his agenda when he moved the show to L.A.?" Lucci also lets loose for the first time about AMC's ex-head writer, "If Chuck Pratt's intention was to come on board and mess with the history and integrity of our show, I believe he was successful in his efforts."

People Magazine has put together a Collector’s Special Hardcover book for fans, "People Celebrates All My Children." It is now available for pre-order at for $13.57. The publication date is September 27, 2011, which means it should be on newsstands as early as the first week of September for $19.95. It is described as "A commemoration of the long-running soap opera that ends in September, 2011 after 41 years. With dozens of pages of brand new, exclusive photographs and interviews, the book visits Pine Valley and all the characters that made the show an American institution. Chock full of favorite moments, story lines, and insights from star Susan Lucci, creator Agnes Nixon and many others, it’s a collector’s book that will satisfy millions of fans."

Chuck Pratt, AMC's former head writer, doesn't have many fond memories of his time in Pine Valley, but he does recall "when we did the tornado and we dug through the rubble and instead of finding Kendall, we found Bianca. That was a moment. It was a great moment to be a part of. Our ratings went up, and I was attempting to get a younger audience with the show, and it gelled for a while but then it didn't really, in the end, work out. It was sad. I was sad to go, but I left behind a lot of good writers and I think we did a good job, but it's unfortunate how it all turned out."

J.R. Martinez (Brot) was interviewed in the AFTRA (American Federation of TV and Radio Artists) Magazine's Summer 2011 issue. On page 26, you can read all about the land mine that changed his appearance and his life, his role on AMC, and his future as an actor and motivational speaker.
