Random Thoughts, Questions, & Ideas

Just some thoughts this week:
Wow! Everyone is buzzing about the news regarding AMC
and OLTL. I am happy that the shows will continue, but
in some ways I feel like we were punked. Maybe TPTB
always knew that the shows were going to be saved in
some fashion, but the announcement that they were going
off the air brought so much attention and publicity
maybe that was the whole idea. Who knows?
I have been asking many questions about the new
situation. I do not think that many people have the
answers right now.
- Will there be a charge to view these shows online?
- How will the shows continuing affect the way they
were preparing to exit? For example, Thorston Kaye was
going to come back briefly to wrap up the Kendall/Zach
storyline. Now that the show is staying on, I doubt he
is going to stay, so will the actors leave? Will they
have closure to the storyline and just AMC will
continue?
- I am sure many of the actors have made plans for
after the show ends. Now, how will that affect things?
- Will Susan Lucci be staying on?
I think producing the shows for the Internet is a
great idea as most people (as we can see by the ratings)
don’t watch the shows live anymore, but DVR it, watch it
on SOAPnet, or the ABC website. I have no problems
watching it on my computer.
