AMC Articles

Random Thoughts
By Patti G

Well this is the last week of AMC in New York City. I am finding it hard to believe they are really going to the West Coast. While I am happy that most of the cast agreed to go, and others arranged situations that allowed them to still live in the NY area and stay on the show. I am sorry for the actors that have been with the show for so long (like Jill Larson, Ray MacDonnell, and Aiden Turner) that were not asked to go. So much for loyalty! I also feel bad for the production staff that will be out of jobs, some after putting in many, many years with the show. I wonder if Charles Pratt had been fired way sooner, would the show even be moving? I also noticed that during a clip on Live with Regis & Kelly, where Kelly Ripa was showing the footage of her guest appearance on AMC, that the cameras were all labeled HD. So what did moving out West have to do with how the show is filmed?

Okay, on with the rest of the week.

Soaps are known for speedy trials. That is a given. However, I never saw a trial go as quickly as Adamís did. The questioning took all of five minutes, and the jury was back with a verdict in about two minutes.

What right does Ryan have to be in Annieís hospital room, let alone harass her? If I were Annie, I would have summoned the nurse or police and have his sorry butt kicked out. Annie might have done some bad things, but she has always spent her time or wanted to spend time with Emma. Ryan not only is never managing his empire, but pawns Emma off on Corrina and Opal all the time. And who is watching Spike? Opal? Ryan would rather play the superhero than work at his job and take care of his kids. Ryan acts like he had no part in pushing Annie over the edge. One days he wakes up and does not remember her or his children? Then Annie has to watch him chase after Kendall then Greenlee? But of course, self righteous Ryan never accepts his part of the damage he causes.

How I hate the way they have written Aidan. They have ruined Zach and Jesse and totally trashed Aidan. I find it impossible to believe he would turn like he has. As for kidnapping Kendall, does he have her medication? I find it very hard to believe if I were Zach or Erica that Kendall would desert her children. Maybe leave Zach, but her boys, no way. That should have sent a red flag up to the people closest to her.

Questions on a few subplots:

    • Are we ever going to find out what Kendall tripped over the night of the murder? It was very important at the time, not so much anymore.
    • What about who came to see the doctor who invented the heart valve and then hung himself?

Why were Scott and Adam the only two people ever to wear orange jumpsuits in the PV jail?

The one thing I loved about the character Hayley was she never whined and blamed Adam for all her problems. Colby and JR are the whiniest, brattiest kids I know. They have no problem being a Chandler when it suits their needs and giving their father ultimatums whenever they feel like it. They hardly liked any of Adamís wives, so why should Annie be any different?

I was thinking that the last storyline I really liked was when Zach and Greenlee were stuck in the bomb shelter. They had terrific scenes together and two enemies wound up becoming good friends. It was a storyline that also included other subplots with other characters. That is what is missing from AMC these days.

I also would have like the "Who killed Stuart" storyline to be as good as the "Who killed Michael Cambias." It just wasnít.  They could have had numerous suspects and could have done so much with it that in the end it was a waste of a character being killed off.

Oh, please thank you, Erica for even suggesting you let Fusion die. It has dragged on way too long. NO one there is running it, nobody even cares about it. Just let it go and move on.

Well, thatís about all for now. Have a great week.

I would love to hear from any of my readers.
